EUCHARIST EXPOSED

January 10, 2006

Messenger:         We are to witness —
Witness to Christ alive in us.

                            Epiphany Light.

                            We see Christ as priest,
                                prophet and king.

We pray to help renew the Church.

Prayer for Union with Jesus

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.

I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

Genesis Chapter 3
The Fall

Now, the snake was the most subtle of all the wild animals that Yahweh God had made. It asked the woman, 'Did God really say you were not to eat from any of the trees in the garden?' The woman answered the snake, 'We may eat the fruit of the trees in the garden. But of the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden God said, "You must not eat it, nor touch it, under pain of death." ' Then the snake said to the woman, 'No! You will not die! God knows in fact that the day you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like gods, knowing good from evil.' The woman saw that the tree was good to eat and pleasing to the eye, and that it was enticing for the wisdom that it could give. So she took some of its fruit and ate it. She also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they realised that they were naked. So they sewed fig-leaves together to make themselves loin-cloths.

The man and his wife heard the sound of Yahweh God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from Yahweh God among the trees of the garden. But Yahweh God called to the man. 'Where are you?' he asked. 'I heard the sound of you in the garden,' he replied. 'I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.' 'Who told you that you were naked?' he asked. 'Have you been eating from the tree I forbade you to eat?' The man replied, 'It was the woman you put with me; she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.' Then Yahweh God said to the woman, 'Why did you do that?' The woman replied, 'The snake tempted me and I ate.'

Then Yahweh God said to the snake, 'Because you have done this,

    Accursed be you
of all animals wild and tame!
On your belly you will go
and on dust you will feed
    as long as you live.
    I shall put enmity
    between you and the woman,
    and between your offspring and hers;
    it will bruise your head
and you will strike its heel.'

    To the woman he said:

I shall give you intense pain
        in childbearing,
you will give birth to your children
        in pain.
Your yearning will be for your husband,
    and he will dominate you.

To the man he said, 'Because you listened to the voice of your wife and ate from the tree of which I had forbidden you to eat,

Accursed be the soil because of you!
Painfully will you get your food from it
    as long as you live.
It will yield you brambles and thistles,
as you eat the produce of the land.
By the sweat of your face
    will you earn you food,
until you return to the ground,
as you were taken from it.
    For dust you are
and to dust you shall return.

The man named his wife 'Eve' because she was the mother of all those who live. Yahweh God made tunics of skins for the man and his wife and clothed them. Then Yahweh God said, 'Now that the man has become like one of us in knowing good from evil, he must not be allowed to reach out his hand and pick from the tree of life too, and eat and live for ever!' So Yahweh God expelled him from the garden of Eden, to till the soil from which he had been taken. He banished the man, and in front of the garden of Eden he posted the great winged creatures and the fiery flashing sword, to guard the way to the tree of life.

Jesus speaks:      And yet they put Me to death.

Eve wanted to be over Me.

Messenger:         It is a mockery for any order in
                                the Church to have those

                            By the word order, signifies

The Power of God shall Reign
                                on the earth —

1 Corinthians 15: 20-28

In fact, however, Christ has been raised from the dead, as the first–fruits of all who have fallen asleep. As it was by one man that death came, so through one man has come the resurrection of the dead. Just as all die in Adam, so in Christ all will be brought to life; but all of them in their proper order: Christ the first–fruits, and next, at his coming, those who belong to him. After that will come the end, when he will hand over the kingdom to God the Father, having abolished every principality, every ruling force and power. For he is to be king until he has made his enemies his footstool, and the last of the enemies to be done away with is death, for he has put all things under his feet. But when it is said everything is subjected, this obviously cannot include the One who subjected everything to him. When everything has been subjected to him, then the Son himself will be subjected to the One who has subjected everything to him, so that God may be all in all.

1 Corinthians 15: 25-26

For he is to be king until he has made his enemies his footstool, and the last of the enemies to be done away with is death, for he has put all things under his feet.

Jesus speaks:         The prince of darkness
                            comes and a person giving
                            into pride wants to rule.
A person can have very many
                            problems with authority
                            because of childhood parental
                            obedience or just being a
                            strong-willed person determined
to never let anyone tell them
                            what to do.

The problem is as old as Eve.
Eve is the Mother of the Living.
Mary, the New Eve, the spiritual
                            Mother of all God's children.
Yes Mary was the Mother of God
                                she bore God in her
                                womb, today she takes
                                her children, the poor
                                banished children of Eve
                                to her Immaculate Heart and
Mary says —

                            "I AM THE IMMACULATE HEART"

                            I AM, MARY, your
                                spiritual Mother —

Messenger:         Mary sang the magnificat with

Luke 1: 46-55

And Mary said:

My soul proclaims
    the greatness of the Lord
and my spirit rejoices
    in God my Saviour;
because he has looked upon
    the humiliation of his servant.
Yes, from now onwards
all generations will call me blessed,
for the Almighty
has done great things for me.
Holy is his name,
and his faithful love extends age after age
    to those who fear him.
He has used the power of his arm,
he has routed the arrogant of heart.
He has pulled down princes
    from their thrones
        and raised high the lowly.
He has filled the starving with good things,
    sent the rich away empty.
He has come to the help
    of Israel his servant,
        mindful of his faithful love
—according to the promise
    he made to our ancestors—
of his mercy to Abraham
and to his descendants for ever.

And what is Sacrifice? It is

                                for our sins.
God coming to Save us —

The Mystery of Christ and
            Christian Existence

...In reference to Christianity, God himself is the ultimate mystery. Radically, God is completely other and transcendent, hidden from man in his inner life, unless he chooses to reveal himself. Let us briefly look at this inner life of God.

The Father, in a perfect act of self-expression, in a perfect act of knowing, generates his son. The Son, the Word, is, then, the immanent expression of God's fullness, the reflection of the Father. Likewise, from all eternity, the Father and the Son bring forth the Holy Spirit in a perfect act of loving.

At the destined moment in human history, God's self-expression, the Word, immersed himself into man's world. God's inner self-expression now had also become God's outer self-expression. Consequently, the mystery of God becomes the mystery of Christ. In Christ, God tells us about himself, about his inner life, about his plan of creation and redemption. He tells us how Father, Son, and Holy Spirit desire to dwell within us in the most intimate fashion, how they wish to share with us their own life through grace. All this he has accomplished and does accomplish through Christ. St. Paul tells us: "I became a minister of this Church through the commission God gave me to preach among you his word in its fullness, that mystery hidden from ages and generations past but now revealed to his holy ones. God has willed to make known to them the glory beyond price which this mystery brings to the Gentiles—the mystery of Christ in you, your hope of glory. This is the Christ we proclaim while we admonish all men and teach them in the full measure of wisdom, hoping to make every man complete in Christ" (Col 1:25-28).

January 10, 2006 message continues

Messenger:          And so Fr. Carter focuses on how the
                                mystery of God unfolds
around the mystery of Christ —

                            Christ born in a stable
Christ living on this earth —
                            Christ dying
                            Christ rising from the dead
                            Christ ascending into heaven

                            The mystery of Christ
The mystery of the cross and resurrection.

The only power we should want
is the loving power of God —

The only power of the Church
                                should be the loving
                                power of God.

                            All power comes from God.

23. FIRST PRINCIPLE AND FOUNDATION

Man is created to praise, reverence and serve God
our Lord, and by this means to save his soul.

1 Corinthians 15: 20-28

As it was by one man that death came, so through one man has come the resurrection of the dead. 1 John 1:  1-7

Something which has existed
   since the beginning,
which we have heard,
which we have seen with our own eyes,
which we have watched
and touched with our own hands,
the Word of life-
this is our theme.
That life was made visible;
we saw it and are giving our testimony,
declaring to you the eternal life,
which was present to the Father
and has been revealed to us.
We are declaring to you
what we have seen and heard,
so that you too may share our life.
Our life is shared with the Father
and with his Son Jesus Christ.
We are writing this to you
so that our joy may be complete.

I: TO WALK IN THE LIGHT

This is what we have heard from him and are declaring to you:
God is light,
and there is no darkness in him at all.
If we say that we share in God’s life
while we are living in darkness,
we are lying,
because we are not living the truth.
But if we live in light,
as he is in light,
we have a share in another’s life,
and the blood of Jesus, his Son,
cleanses us from all sin.

John 1: 1-18

In the beginning was the Word:
the Word was with God
and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things came into being,
not one thing came into being
   except through him.
What has come into being in him was life,
life that was the light of men;
and light shines in darkness,
and darkness could not overpower it.

A man came, sent by God.
His name was John.
He came as a witness,
to bear witness to the light,
so that everyone might believe
   through him.
He was not the light,
he was to bear witness to the light.

The Word was the real light
that gives light to everyone;
he was coming into the world.
He was in the world
that had come into being through him,
and the world did not recognise him.
He came to his own
and his own people did not accept him.

But to those who did accept him
he gave power to become children of God,
to those who believed in his name
who were born not from human stock
or human desire
or human will
but from God himself.
The Word became flesh,
he lived among us,
and we saw his glory,
the glory that he has from the Father
as only Son of the Father,
full of grace and truth.

John witnesses to him. He proclaims:
‘This is the one of whom I said:
He who comes after me
has passed ahead of me
because he existed before me.’

Indeed, from his fullness
we have, all of us, received—
one gift replacing another,
for the Law was given through Moses,
grace and truth have come
   through Jesus Christ.
No one has ever seen God;
it is the only Son,
who is close to the Father’s heart,
who has made him known.

This is God's Movement and it

need each other to walk — etc. —
                                but we NEED God —
                                always — First —

A person too fixed on pleasing
another and not seeing it as
doing it to please God —
                                Ultimately — may be slavishly
                                dependent — unhealthy attached
for impure reasons — like a baby
needing mama and dada to like what
                                they did.

                                A person in religious life
serves God as their Master — they
                            obey superiors because it is
                            the power line through which
                            God works.

                                Being willful in a community
breaks that power line and they
become the head. They open a
                            door —

Eve did not want to obey —
                                Jesus obeyed His Father
to His death on the cross.

To live as Christ — means to serve —
to bear witness to Christ who
                                    died for Thee —

January 10, 2006 message continues

Messenger:          Jesus showed us that He died and
                                He rose —

In the dying (when we are
                                rooted in Him) there is
                                the resurrection —
                                greater life in Him.

                            The Paschal mystery
                                death - resurrection —
dying to be raised to new
                                    life in Him --

That is what the spiritual life is
                                all about.

Living more the mystery of Christ —
                                His death —
                                His resurrection —
                                    in our lives —

                            Living the Incarnation —
                                The Incarnation goes on
                                    in us.
He uses us and molds us more
in His Image and likeness —

                            In this we bear Witness
                                Christ has died, He has
                                    risen and He will come
                                    again.

                            Jesus says to us
                                Be My servant
                                Be My handmaid —
                                Wash each other's feet

John 13: 12-15

When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments again he went back to the table. ‘Do you understand’, he said, ‘what I have done to you? You call me Master and Lord, and rightly; so I am. If I, then, the Lord and Master, have washed your feet, you must wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example so that you may copy what I have done to you.

Jesus speaks:       Live to be one in Me

Messenger:          We are not following Christ
                                if we are self-centered —
                                He was selfless —
He was the suffering servant —

He gave and gave and gave —
Do we take and take and take?

Babies need to be cared for —
                            We are apostles, servants and
                                handmaids ——

God has the words of everlasting
                                    life —
                                The world teaches selfishness —
                                God called communities to
                                    serve Him

We speak to the world —
                            To bear Witness —
                            Of Christ —
He tells us to serve and
                                    bear Witness —

Jesus speaks:     I want My light to shine in
                                all the dark corners of
                                this earth —

Messenger:         The Church is a beacon light —
                            We pray as Christians
We pray as people of the
                                World to be the World
God wants us to be —

                            The messages of God are
                                messages of love He
                                gives to the world —

                            The Blue Books are the
                                letters of love — given
                                to the world to be
                                loving in the Hearts
                                of Jesus and Mary —

                            We are a bridge builder
                                always —
                                building unity —
                                We see the Trinity —
                                    One God —
                                    With 3 Persons

The world is to be one.
We are to be holy —
We live to serve God in holiness.

Sing:   Do you love me Peter
