                     From yesterday

                January 10, 2012

                    Entrance Antiphon

Upon a lofty throne, I saw a man seated, whom a host of angels adore,
singing in unison; Behold him, the name of whose empire is eternal.

                    Today's Readings

1 Samuel 1: 1-20

There was a man of Ramathaim, a Zuphite from the highlands of Ephraim whose name was Elkanah son of Jeroham, son of Elihu, son of Tohu, son of Zuph, an Ephraimite. He had two wives, one called Hannah, the other Peninnah; Peninnah had children but Hannah had none. Every year this man used to go up from his town to worship, and to sacrifice to Yahweh Sabaoth at Shiloh. (The two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there as priests of Yahweh.)

One day Elkanah offered a sacrifice. Now he used to give portions to Peninnah and to all her sons and daughters; to Hannah, however, he would give only one portion: for, although he loved Hannah more, Yahweh had made her barren. Furthermore, her rival would taunt and provoke her, because Yahweh had made her womb barren. And this went on year after year; every time they went up to the temple of Yahweh she used to taunt her. On that day she wept and would not eat anything; so her husband Elkanah said, 'Hannah, why are you crying? Why are you not eating anything? Why are you so sad? Am I not more to you than ten sons?'

When they had finished eating in the room, Hannah got up and stood before Yahweh. Eli the priest was sitting on his seat by the doorpost of the temple of Yahweh. In the bitterness of her soul she prayed to Yahweh with many tears, and she made this vow, 'Yahweh Sabaoth! Should you condescend to notice the humiliation of your servant and keep her in mind instead of disregarding your servant, and give her a boy, I will give him to Yahweh for the whole of his life and no razor shall ever touch his head.'

While she went on praying to Yahweh, Eli was watching her mouth, for Hannah was speaking under her breath; her lips were moving but her voice could not be heard, and Eli thought that she was drunk. Eli said, 'How much longer are you going to stay drunk? Get rid of your wine.' 'No, my lord,' Hannah replied, 'I am a woman in great trouble; I have not been drinking wine or strong drink — I am pouring out my soul before Yahweh. Do not take your servant for a worthless woman; all this time I have been speaking from the depth of my grief and my resentment.' Eli then replied, 'Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant what you have asked of him.' To which she said, 'May your servant find favour in your sight.' With that, the woman went away; she began eating and was dejected no longer.

Birth and consecration of Samuel

They got up early in the morning and, after worshipping Yahweh, set out and went home to Ramah. Elkanah lay with his wife Hannah, and Yahweh remembered her. Hannah conceived and, in due course, gave birth to a son, whom she named Samuel, ‘since’, she said, ‘I asked Yahweh for him.’

1 Samuel 2: 1, 4-5, 6-7, 8

Hannah then prayed as follows:

My heart exults in Yahweh,
in my God is my strength lifted up,
my mouth derides my foes,
for I rejoice in your deliverance.

The bow of the mighty has been broken
but those who were tottering
are now braced with strength.
The full fed
are hiring themselves out for bread
but the hungry need labour no more;
the barren woman bears sevenfold
but the mother of many is left desolate.

Yahweh gives death and life,
brings down to Sheol and draws up;
Yahweh makes poor and rich,
he humbles and also exalts.

He raises the poor from the dust,
he lifts the needy from the dunghill
to give them a place with princes,
to assign them a seat of honour;
for to Yahweh belong the pillars
of the earth,
on these he has poised the world.

Mark 1: 14-28

After John had been arrested, Jesus went into Galilee. There he proclaimed the gospel from God saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is close at hand. Repent, and believe the gospel.’

As he was walking along by the Lake of Galilee he saw Simon and Simon’s brother Andrew casting a net in the lake—for they were fishermen. And Jesus said to them, ‘Come after me and I will make you into fishers of people.’ And at once they left their nets and followed him.

Going on a little further, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John; they too were in their boat, mending the nets. At once he called them and, leaving their father Zebedee in the boat with the men he employed, they went after him.

They went as far as Capernaum, and at once on the Sabbath he went into the synagogue and began to teach. And his teaching made a deep impression on them because, unlike the scribes, he taught them with authority.

And at once in their synagogue there was a man with an unclean spirit, and he shouted, ‘What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Holy One of God.’ But Jesus rebuked it saying, ‘Be quiet! Come out of him!’ And the unclean spirit threw the man into convulsions and with a loud cry went out of him. The people were so astonished that they started asking one another what it all meant, saying, ‘Here is a teaching that is new, and with authority behind it: he gives orders even to unclean spirits and they obey him.’ And his reputation at once spread everywhere, through all the surrounding Galilean countryside.

                R. They changed the words at Mass to begin
                    with the Penitential Act —

Our venial sins can be forgiven —

                It says

Confiteor

I confess to Almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned,
in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,
through my fault, through my fault,
through my most grievous fault;
therefore, I ask blessed Mary ever Virgin,
all the Angels and Saints,
and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.

                R. It says I have greatly sinned.

The Church wants us to admit
our sins — that is what
                    this says —

So we can offer a most pure sacrifice
offered united with the Lord —

Hannah in the first reading prayed
as the handmaid of the Lord —
She conceived and bore a son
                        Samuel —
She had asked the Lord for
                        this son —
                    We rejoice in God —
                    Jesus is our Savior —

We bear fruit for the Kingdom
by giving our life in service
                    to God —
we are humble in heart —

The proud man sees no one over
him — wants to rule and
                    does not serve God but
                    himself.

He makes himself a god and
                    writes the rules his way
                    to serve himself
and they do not praise God —

                Jesus taught with authority —

We begin the ordinary times —

                In Samuel we heard yesterday
                    about Hannah and she was
                    barren —

                Today she prayed and
                    the Rabbi told her she
                    should sober up —
she said she was praying —

                Her son was Samuel —

                Samuel was a judge
Samuel picked out Saul as King.

                Then Samuel anointed David.

                St. Mark's Gospel begins with
                    baptism of God —
                    Jesus picks His disciples —
                    There is nothing passive
about the Kingdom of God —
                    Jesus is active —
Jesus expects us to be active —
Not passive and sit back and wait —

                Jesus taught with authority —
                Jesus gives a sign —
                He casts out demons —

                Jesus has power over nature
                Jesus has power over evil-spirits.

                Jesus is the King

In the Gospel St. Mark says —
this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ —

Jesus Christ is the Son of God —

We walk with Jesus as He walks
                    the earth and
teaches us about the one true God —

Jesus came to serve, not be served —

We are to approach God and ask
                    to grow in faith and
                    humility —

God help us find comfort and peace —
Help the sick and suffering —

                Jesus taught with authority —

The devil attacks authority to try
to do what is against God.

Jesus is the way, the truth
                    and the life —

People can think they know more than God —
They can try to force God's hand —
instead of being obedient to God —
in His way and His timing.

                Jesus is God —

                How foolish to test God
when we are to do what He wants —

Jesus wants it in His way —
                    in His timing —

                Jesus was mocked and scourged
                    and put to death because
                    of our sins —

                Beatitudes

                Blessed are the pure of
heart for they shall see God —

                Blessed are the peace makers
                    for they shall be called
                    sons of God.

Blessed are you when you are
                    persecuted — Jesus says
                    in the Scriptures —

                Blessed are you when people
                    abuse you for My sake

                Your reward will be great
                    in heaven

                The prophets were persecuted —
those who went before Jesus —

                See Jeremiah —

                The Our Father says:

... Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil —

The proud man can ignore the
                    scriptures and do evil
                    to the just —

Jesus comes telling us to convert,
                    to be saved

                Jesus told Peter on an
                    occasion
                    "get behind Me satan"

The devil can operate in others —

The devil wants us to raise
                    up over authority and
                    serve him fighting
                    God's plan.

The devil refused to serve God —

                The devil doesn't work hard
                    for God —
He wants the man to not
                        do what God wants —
                        to block God's plan —

                    The devil works through
                        angry feelings, jealousies,
                        raising up over just authority

                The devil works through
                    pride, affections and wealth.

Jesus wants us to do it His
                    way —
                    His timing —

                The proud man wants his
                    own vain glory —

                Jesus worked miracles
                    raising Lazarus from
                    the dead — after he
                    was dead 4 days —

Instead we can wait for yet
                    another sign while we
hold out and want to be
                    served and not serve —

Satan said "I will not serve God"

Jesus is the resurrection and the life.

Those who do God's will —
live to serve Him — will
                    never die —

God lifts us up from the pit.

                Lazarus was raised from
                    the dead,

                What a miracle —

                Jesus gives us eternal life
                    as a reward for
                    serving Him and doing
                    what He wants.

Freely we receive and freely we are to give.

Help us Lord follow in Your
                    footsteps serving and loving
                    and giving selflessly —
not caught in a trap of
                    self-inflected pity —
                    tearing up what others have
                    built —

Let us unite to the Mass all day —
                    giving and offering our lives
                    as a pure sacrifice —

Helping to bear fruit for the Kingdom
                    of God —

Oh God we love You —

We offer ourselves as a sacrifice
We offer our lives as a sacrifice

We do this to serve You selflessly —

To not bring down the house in
                    bitter selfishness, isolation
                    and self-pity.

Prayer for Union with Jesus

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.

I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994

                R. We offer ourselves —

We wish our soul to be holy —

We want to be contributing to the
renewal of the Church and the
                    world —

                Oh God we love You

We offer ourselves to be more holy —

                R. We unite to the Holy Sacrifice
                    of the Mass —

                Holy — Loving —

We pray the Mass helps us to be
                    Holy —
                    Holy —
                    Loving —
                    Holy

We are given the Bread of Life —
                We hear the Word —
We eat the body of Christ
                We drink His Blood —

                Oh God —
Come — we want to please You —

                You are over us —
                You have authority —
                We bow to You

Through Him, With Him and In Him

The Our Father

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Lamb of God

Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world, grant us peace.

Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof,
but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

                         Spiritual Communion

Dear Jesus — we want to make a spiritual
                        communion, we cannot receive You
now, but we want to know Your
presence deep in our heart —
deep in our soul — Oh God fill us
with Your presence that we can
just focus on You and Your love
for us now — Love deep in us —
                        Oneness with You —
Quiet surrender to be alone in
this moment with You in our heart
                        in deep love —
We love You so much our beloved
                        God —

Prayer before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

Let me be a holy sacrifice and unite with God in the sacrament of His greatest love.

I want to be one in Him in this act of love, where He gives Himself to me and I give myself as a sacrifice to Him. Let me be a holy sacrifice as I become one with Him in this my act of greatest love to Him.

Let me unite with Him more, that I may more deeply love Him. May I help make reparation to His adorable Heart and the heart of His Mother, Mary. With greatest love, I offer myself to You and pray that You will accept my sacrifice of greatest love. I give myself to You and unite in Your gift of Yourself to me. Come and possess my soul.

Cleanse me, strengthen me, heal me. Dear Holy Spirit act in the heart of Mary to make me more and more like Jesus.

Father, I offer this my sacrifice, myself united to Jesus in the Holy Spirit to You. Help me to love God more deeply in this act of my greatest love.

Give me the grace to grow in my knowledge, love and service of You and for this to be my greatest participation in the Mass. Give me the greatest graces to love You so deeply in this Mass, You who are so worthy of my love.

-Mass Book, December 27, 1995

A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul

Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.

                R. Oh God Bless Us —

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Given January 8, 2012

                R. Epiphany — Light —

                Not darkness inside —

                God is Light

Feelings can come and go —

                When we give into jealous
                    feelings it may make
                    us miserable later if
                    we give into them.

We can look at our friends —

God intends us to go out
                    to others in the world

                Think of yourself and
                    your friends

                R. God intends us to work together.

                Sometimes people don't get
                    along with others because
                    they are wounded and they
                    act out on others their
                    wounds of the past.

                People who were abused in
                    childhood are taught to
                    abuse others —

If they don't deal with their
                    wounds — they can punish
                    others, if they can get
                    away with it, for their
                    past wounds —

                People who have had problems
                    with abusive parents —
mom and dad or both —
                    if they don't deal with
                    their problems can try
                    to act out on authority
                    and try to force their
                    behavior getting even for
                    their childhood abuse with authority.

                Abusers are wounded inside
and it is in them —
                    they try to find another
                    person to act out their
                    abusive cycle —

They don't want to change —
                    they are angry inside and
                    want to make another
                    the victim —

                They rationalize why the other
                    person has wronged them
                    and deserve their abuse —

The more one abuses, the more
that there can be a constant
                    acting out cycle where
                    they are constantly provoking
                    to get a reaction.

The abuse cycle is abuse —
                    1) it can be active abuse or
                    2) passive-aggressive

                Holding out to create tension
                    is passively acting
                    aggressively to make another
suffer for the control of the
abuser — (It's like one stabbing someone in the back)
(It's like doing something to someone in secret, passively to get a fire started, a reaction
attacking another, and their unexpected evil against the other will show up later.)
A person that abuses actively is like one that stabs in the front of the chest, that abuses openly and attacks openly up front.

An abuser - abuses for control —
                    They rationalize why the person
                    deserves their abuse —

                They control them through
                    money, holding out needed
                    information and other ways
                    to force their behavior.

                They use measures to force
                    their behavior whether
                    active abuse or
                    passive-aggressive behavior
                    holding out to control

The more they sin hurting others, the more
                    they distance themselves from God
and get angrier and angrier because
of their lack of love and sin inside.

                In confession one is accountable
for ones behavior - to have
                    a relationship with friends,
                    one must be accountable
                    and responsible for the
                    hurt and damage one does.

                Holding out to abuse another
                    but maintaining a title
                    to stop any communication
                    or enough people being
                    aware of what is going
on — to control, hurts all
                    who depend on the operation.

The abuser is lost in himself —
he justifies why he can do what
he does that is wrong, why
he owns the other or has the
right to do so and he is
                    not accountable for the
                    damage done to others who
                    suffer such abuse.

Fr. Joe says a person does not
                    stand still in the spiritual
life — they either grow or
                    go backward — they don't
                    stay the same —

                The abuser doesn't want to
                    change — he blames what
                    he does on the innocent
other, as he runs like a
                    steam roller over everyone
                    involved without accountability
                    for his damage to others,
                    families and emotional and
                    physical health of the victim
                    and victims he abuses.

Jesus: This is the picture I want in My messages. When you read these messages, look at My picture and know I love you. These messages are My words of love for each of you.

This explanation of Blue Book 6 came out of the March 17th, 1995 Blue Book Meeting.

The Sixth Book

He Calls Us to Action

R.  This book is a call to action. He gives us His love and He sends us into the world to spread this love to others. We cannot hold back. We need to pray to the Holy Spirit to enlighten us and to give us His courage to carry out the plan of the Father. Holy Spirit transform us from fear to fearlessness. He is one in us. Minute-by-minute, second-by-second, He provides for our needs. Hear His soft voice all through the day say, I love you, I love you, I love you.

He is the bridegroom of our soul. Enter into such union with Him through His pierced side and dwell deeply in His Most Sacred Heart. As St. Paul said (Gal. 2: 20): "yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me."

We are one body in Christ. How can I be one in Him and not love you when you are one with Him?

He talks about the Church, the Priests, and how we are His apostles to spread His love into this world - how we must pray for our priests and one another, pray for the souls in purgatory, pray for the whole Church in union with the Masses being offered throughout the world.

Song:  I Love You Jesus

Age of the Two Hearts

Jesus: "My beloved priest-companion, I have allowed you to experience in extraordinary fashion the riches contained in My Heart and My Mother's Heart. I desire that you tell all My people about these riches. I desire that My people consecrate themselves to My Sacred Heart and to Mary's Immaculate Heart. My people are living in the beginnings of the age of the Two Hearts.

"After the time of the purification is completed, this new era of the Church and the world will become firmly established. This era will be characterized by the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. All those who consecrate themselves to My Heart and to My Mother's Heart will help to establish this glorious new age. I am Lord and Master. Please listen to My urgent request. Within Our Hearts you will experience the love and security, the peace and the joy, which you all desire. I love My people with a tremendous love, and in My love I give them this message!"

From Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter

R.  Before the 17th meeting in January of 1995, I had received the following vision when at Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Peter in Chains. It was either late December, 1994 or early January, 1995. I drew the picture in the notebook.

It looks as follows:

vision
when at Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Peter in Chains

The face was a flesh colored, but I could not see the features. The gown was white with a square neck.

The next day Jesus told me it was Father Carter. This vision along with another vision I had received about the same time appeared on the 17th book in January 1995.

The other vision was a church that looked similar to our church in China, Indiana, and in the front of the church was a gigantic Host with tremendous light coming forth from it.

On the cover was a Shepherd and the world.

The vision of the church looked like this:

vision

There was a message at this meeting. The message said that THE POWER is in the Eucharist.

                January 9, 2012 continues

                R. Jesus went to the cross —
BARE — Stripped bare of His
                        garments

                    BARE BABY

                Jesus says: COME CLEAN

                R. Tell the truth about the evil
in us, so we can work
on the ways we need to
                    change.

Praise God for the good in us.
                    Thank Him for His suffering
                        for our sins —
                        Don't lie about our
                            sins —
                            Come clean —

                    LAID BARE

January 5, 1997

R. On January 5, 1997, I was wakened by Our Lord and He was mumbling as He was around my bed. I heard Him and He repeated the words over and over again. He was speaking very plainly and direct. He kept repeating "BABY, BARE BABY, LAID BARE".

Jesus:  Open yourself, Oh Jerusalem, your time is come you will be a light to the people in darkness, many will walk whence you come and the earth will be shakened and the light will come across a dark sky and enlighten their minds.

Oh stiff-necked people, you are so stiff in your ways, let the spirit envelope you and lead you on your way.

A country of stiffs, a people of planning and prodding, of deliberating and wondering—you lack faith, Jerusalem, you lack faith in God.

Oh walk naked into the cold night, you are cold in your hearts and naked in your clothing—I cloth you with glory, I light your face with light, but you turn your cheeks to the darkness and stay stiff-necked in your hearts. Oh cold and dark hearts, reach for the light that you may know the glory that awaits the sinners and enlightens their minds.

                R. Bare — Jesus came bare —
                    LAID in a stable —
                    Poverty

See the bare baby skin of the
                    baby

  Our Lady of China

                R. Christ came in the stable —
                    laid on bare wood —

Christ laid bare on the cross
                    for our sins —

He was the victim for those who
sin and lie about it —
                    Throw away the gift of
                    healing, becoming healed of
                    wounds —
                    Jesus bore our sins —
Jesus was willing to suffer —
                    He knows everything — We
put Him on the cross —
                        We whipped Him at the
                        pillar for our unloving
                        ways we treat our
                        brothers —

                    Slothful ways —
                    Sins of omission —
                    Selfishness —
Jesus carried our sins on the
                        cross —

There He died for our sins —

                Jesus was LAID BARE.

We are to make reparation for
                    offenses against the Hearts
                    of greatest love —
the Hearts of Jesus and Mary —

The altar is a sacred place —
                    never to approach the altar
                    in anger and division —

Matthew 5: 22-24

But I say this to you, anyone who is angry with a brother will answer for it before the court; anyone who calls a brother "Fool" will answer for it before the Sanhedrin; and anyone who calls him "Traitor" will answer for it in hell fire. So then, if you are bringing your offering to the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar, go and be reconciled with your brother first, and then come back and present your offering.

                R. Mary when she appeared like Our Lady of Fatima
                    March 20, 1997 —
                    had blood hair —

                R. Breathe in the richness of Jesus Christ
                Breathe in Jesus
                Breathe out anxiety
                Let go

Jesus wants the Shepherds of Christ to help
bring the Era of Peace —
Peace on the Earth, Good Will to men

A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul

Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.

                R. Intimacy with Jesus - only comes
                    when we recognize our sins.

Sin we lie about keeps us in
                    darkness and makes us angry
                    because of unloving ways —

We cannot be one intimately with
God and lie when we offend our
                    brother with abuse and
                    unloving provoking ways —

If we don't come clean about
our sin and ask for forgiveness
                    we become more blind,
                    more angry, more dark,
                    more miserable because
                    we distance ourselves
from God and give into the
                    deadly sins — God commands
us to love Him and our brothers
                    as ourselves —

                When we spiritually awaken —
                          we act spontaneously
                          rather than being caved in
                          acting out of punishment,
                          anger and selfishness toward
our brother — we come clean —

We live in the moment —

                 We enjoy the moment —

                 We appreciate what God has
                       given us —

                  We appreciate others and we
                       recognize how they have
                       given us love — rather
                       than being controlling of
others and angry toward them —
                       We act in love —

The man in our life is Jesus —
                He is our King —

We don't live to please others
and expect them to serve us —

We act to serve God and others —

                Servants —

Jesus came to serve, not to be
                    served —

He calls us to serve —

We love being united with others
in our hearts — the invisible
                    string — we never hurt
                    others to keep them engaged
                    because of our own fear
                    of abandonment —

We don't try to control others
                    and make them slavishly
                    dependent through force
                    or abuse because we
                    don't feel we don't belong
                    anywhere and are afraid of
                    being abandoned —

We realize God never leaves us —
                    in the greatest suffering
we can be so close to God —
He knows — He is there —
                    We trust Him —
                    We belong to Him —

We see ourselves as God wants
us to be — we don't listen
to the devil, or our parents who
may have abused us as old tapes in our
head, we know the truth —
God has a purpose for our life —

                God is there —
                God is our King —

We belong to Jesus even in
                    the greatest suffering —

                We don't listen to tapes
                    in our head from satan
who tells us we are all
alone — or try to force
                    someone to be connected
to us through our force or
abuse to not be alone by ourselves.

We love to look with open
                    eyes to others and smile
                    and quit focusing on
                    ourselves —

                We quit trying to control
                    everything so we won't
be hurt — we let go to
                    God's will.

We love things given to us by
                    others — We don't have
                    to rescue, control and
                    be up —
                    We can give love and
                    We can accept love —

                We are accountable for our
                    unloving ways toward others.

                We take responsibility for those
we have hurt and we want
                    to make amends —

We are loving, self-less — going
                    out — opening ourselves
                    for love to others —

Not doing everything to be right —
                    turned in on ourselves —

Not doing things for our vain glory
                    affection —
                    Majorly for our power over
                        others —

Do I put others down to make
                    myself look good —
Do I see others down and with
                        envy think they get in
                        my way of being up
                        the ladder, so I punish
                        them, degrade them
                        and do dysfunctional
things to raise up and put
                        others under my feet —

Did I ask God to really help
me to be pure and holy or
                    did I just give into
                    my old selfish ways —

When I am wrong do I promptly
                    admit it?

Did I change the things I can
                    change about myself?

Do I hold out to punish others —
and say "let them bleed before I
                    come around —
let them serve me — I
                    deserve it" (this is wrong)

Do I obey those over me or
                    do I challenge to
                    competition and want
                    to discredit those over
                    me and every chance I
                    get prove them weak
                    and wrong before others —

                Do I engage in unpredictable
                    behavior and lie about
my guilt to try to prove
the wrong I did as right?

                Do I indulge in self-pity?
Do I blame others for my sins?
                Am I accountable?

Did I work on my defects of
                    character?

Am I bitter inside — wasting
my life on being bitter and anger?

                Am I afraid of abandonment
                    so I start problems with
                    others just to be engaged
                    or hold out things that
                    really don't belong to me
                    to abuse?

                Do I feel comfortable with
                    authority figures?

                Am I involved and comfortable
                    with people?

Do I know how great I
am in God's eyes and see
                    myself as important
to God and tell myself that
                    and really believe it?

Do I allow those over me to
                    criticize me or do I
                    rebel and punish
                    anyone telling me I did
                    anything wrong?

Do I believe if others excel it
takes away from me so I
try to ruin it for them?

Do I live to fill my sick abandonment
                    need — even start trouble
                    and punish people not to
                    be alone and in control?

Do I see strengths and weaknesses
                    in my relationships or
                    do I hurt anyone who
                    thinks I'm not perfect?
                    Telling myself I have
                    no weaknesses?

Do I enjoy peace or do I love to
                    start competition, combat,
and hate peace so I start
                    trouble if things
                    are peaceful?

                Do I love myself - as I
                    really am?

Am I a reactor and not an
                    actor —

Do I recognize the past is
                    part of my life and
                    not shut the door on
                    it, but become better
                    lovers because of it?

Am I interested in my brothers?

Do I do everything for my own
                    vain glory?

Do I fear being with people
                    so I isolate even when
I am required to be with
                    people —

Do I count on God helping me
                    and let go —

We are to live in the now —
We are to have joy now in our lives —

We are to treasure the journey
within to be as God wants
us to be in His image and
                    likeness —

We are to pray for healing to be
                    healthy in body, mind and
                    soul —
                    not hold onto our dysfunction
                    and abuse others to
                    practice it while we
                    control and stay sick.

We are to see co-dependent relationships
                    where adults force others to
                    deal with their dysfunction
as sick and know they need
                    to change —

                People who live dysfunctionally are
                    ADDICTED TO MISERY
and they want to force it
                    on others —
                    passive-aggressive —

                Claudia Black talks about
                    addicted people who
                    Don't Talk
                    Don't Feel
                    Don't Trust

When someone tries to force us
to hold them up in their
                    dysfunction —
                    they hold us back!!!

                There are many addictions —
                    We can die from addictions
                    Addicted to Misery
                    Addicted to Abuse
                    Addicted to Control
                    Addicted to Punishment
                    Addicted to Excitement
                    Addicted to Work

                Addicted like many Adult
                    children from Dysfunctional
                    Homes —

                They trained the children to
                    think dysfunctionally
and force it on others as
                    a way of life —
                    They are Adult-Children,
Wounded children acting out in an Adult body.

We need to heal our wounded
                    self-esteem

We need to identify the type
                    of co-dependence that
is taking life from us —

We need to recognize addictions —
We need to be accountable and
                    responsible for our behavior.

A person can stay alone to rule
and then show up to force
                    their rule on others —
                    NOT LOVE LIKE JESUS!

                We see destructive relationships
                    that tear things apart because
one uses a job to force
                    their behavior, or money,
                    or control, abuse, holding
                    out, lack of communication —

God has called the Shepherds of Christ
                    to help renew the Church
                    and the world, not
                    exist for destructive relationships
                    of control, purity is needed.

We need to recover from old,
                    bad, dysfunctional, angry
ways - not try to not change and
abuse others and use force to
                    force unloving isolated,
                    controlling ways —

                Recovery from dysfunction
                    is needed for the
                    healing process — we
                    can't ignore it -

We communicate in many ways —
                    not talking —
                    holding out —
                    enabling others who have
                        hurt people —
                    is communicating

                    Body language
                    Stiff
                    Cold
                    Mad

We want to be forgiven — we
                    need to forgive  —

Every moment has a purpose in
                    the Father's Plan —

                Every moment is golden

Do what God intends you to do —
Not be stuck in a bucket —
Doing the same thing harder —
                    Falling in the same hole
                    over and over again —
Give to God what is His due —
Give to others what is their due —
                    Account for your actions —
                    LIVE

                Jesus says —
                    "You are precious to Me,
                    wounded, broken,
                    you are still My love,
I love you, I love you,
                    I love you.

                    Unless you become likened
                        to little ones you
won't enter the Kingdom of Heaven."

                R. We need to focus on the whole
                    picture of life

What is important to God and
What is not important to God.

                Pray for Wisdom —

Proverb 14: 1-2

Wisdom builds herself a house;
with her own hands Folly pulls it down.

   John 8: 12

  I am the light of the world;
    anyone who follows me
will not be walking in the dark,
but will have the light of life.

                Light shines in darkness —

Walk in the Way of the Light

May 9, 1994 After Communion

R. Our feet carry us about in this world. We do not think much about our feet and how they do this job.

I have received visions of feet. In 1978, when I received a gift from God, I saw a shoe and I heard the verse, "Walk in the way of the Light."

I have a free will. My path must be the path set by the Master. He leads, I follow. His ways are not always the ways I want to follow. I sometimes do not want to forgive. I do not want to let go of hurts when I have been wronged. I want to hold on and be angry. Walk in the way of the Lord! I do not want to obey when I have a letter that is not nice, but that I must deliver. I would rather be popular and not cause any discomfort. "Walk in the way of the Lord."

Is this the same as doing His Will? I wanted to sing in the choir at the Athenaeum. I liked it. I felt important. I was singing beautiful songs to God. He took my voice away! I finally saw what His Will was for me. I wanted something very much. He didn't want me there.

I can see now so many things I wanted. I wanted to play the music at daily Mass. 'What a good thing to do!', you say? He wanted me to go to Mass and listen to His words and spend time in adoration after Mass and write these letters.

I wanted to get my children through college. I continued to teach. I lost my voice and I was miserable. I wanted to spend my time with Jesus. I spent some time with Him, but I had to work, too. I couldn't talk so I wrote up long lectures and tried to make it work. It made me miserable. For two years and two months, my voice was almost entirely out of commission but I still received special recognition for teaching. I worked hard to do a good thing. Teaching is a good thing. He was calling me to be writing these letters. I did my will and wrote some, but it was misery. I couldn't breathe because my vocal chords would swell and I had trouble breathing. Did I listen? When do we listen?

God speaks in the inner promptings of our hearts. The more I listened, the more I heard, the more I realized that I must have no preconceived ideas of what is to happen. He directs me. I knew these things were good things. I knew I was doing His Will.

I was a teacher. I went to school all those years. I had to teach. It was right. But it wasn't His Will! I can't try to think and make sense out of what is a good thing. I have to listen and wait for His answer-when He gives it. I know in my heart what He is saying, like it or not. His Will is His Will, not mine. They might be the same, or they might be entirely different, but I have to do His Will!

His Will He makes clear in the inner promptings of my heart. He speaks directly to me. I must be still to hear. I have to pray every day to the Holy Spirit for His gifts. When He tells me His Will, I know it is what He wants me to do. I don't figure it out. I am told and I know I have to do it. Then He nags me until I do. To me it is like a toothache. It stops when I do His Will. It bothers me until I do it.

He told me this morning that I am not perfect. I was being pushed by my son and I got angry. Then I felt, "What is the use? I got angry. Now give it all up." He said, "You are not perfect. Say you are sorry and move on."

In my pride, I think I should be perfect and know all things and never be learning His way. His way He makes clear to us in the inner promptings of our hearts. I am human. I fall, I say I am sorry, I learn a lesson. I do not get angrier and keep on being nasty or mean and then say, "Well, this is the end of this." In humility, I say I am sorry and move on to serving our precious Lord Who loves us so. This is His way!

Jesus: Walk in My way, My dear children. Walk. Your feet carry you down the road. Follow the road of the Master. If you take a bad turn, get back on the road. I am leading. I am waiting. I am walking with you where you walk. I never leave you. You move away from Me. I stay steadfastly by you.

Oh, child, be humble. Do not let pride and anger eat at your heart. When you are wrong, admit it and do My Will. I am calling you to follow Me. Follow My path. It is the only way to your happiness and peace of mind. Wherever you go, My sweet one, you never travel alone. I am with you. Love, love, love. Do not let Satan work in your head.

If I am telling you to do something, do it, even if it is unpleasant. This is what teaches you the way of the Lord. The more you obey Me, the more you hear Me. I am God. I do not necessarily communicate as you do. I may use your senses, but I do not need them to talk to you. I do not need words. I give you promptings. You know when I speak to you and you know you must follow.

Open yourselves up to Me. Pray to be open and to know how to listen to Me. I am God and I want to tell you all you need to know. No one can speak to you as I do in your heart. Come and be with Me in silence and let Me talk to you. I love you so, dear ones. I will never steer you wrong.

R. He never told me, in the letters, to get out of the chorale. I had to hear it in my heart after much misery, as I was holding on. I went to the doctor. I took voice lessons (with no voice) for two years and two summers. I continued to take voice lessons with no voice! I took antibiotics, and could hardly breathe, but I kept teaching the next year. Did He tell me to quit? No, He waited until after I had quit and then said, "You will not have any problem with your voice if you do not teach."

He gives us promptings in our hearts. He wants us to hear with our hearts. He taught me about His ways in the letters. Things about my life I had to hear in my heart. He communicates in our hearts, directly to us. Doing His Will is doing His Will. Do we cover up what He says and do what we want? Every time I do not listen to Him I move farther from Him and I hear less because my pipeline is not clear.

I cannot disobey Him ever or I cannot stand it. If I don't do His Will, I am miserable. If the whole world hates me, I still want to do His Will.

Guiding Light - Reflect on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light homily series - Steadfast to the Son - Cycle A — The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul - Cycle C — In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word - Cycle B — At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15

Guiding Light - The Word Alive in Our Hearts

Priestly Newsletter 2000 Issue 1
Audio CD - Read by Father Edward J. Carter
$ 10.00  plus postage

Priestly Newsletter - 2000 #1 - CD. - Christ is Our Strength - Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our-selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10

Priestly Newsletter - 2000 #2 - CD. - Suffering: A Source of Life - Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. Fr. Carter knew suffering that year. His voice is so powerful as he read each Newsletter from his heart and soul. "Every man has his own share in the redemption. Each one is also called to share in that suffering through which the redemption was accomplished. He is called to share in that suffering through which all human suffering has also been redeemed. In bringing about the redemption through suffering, Christ has also raised human suffering to the level of the redemption. Thus each man in his suffering can also become a sharer in the redemptive suffering of Christ..." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10
