                R. Jesus is the
                    Light of the World

                The Lord loves us
                He is mighty —

                He wants to heal us
                    and make us
                    pure

                Excerpt from January 9, 2011

                    Season of Epiphany
                    ends today with the
                    Baptism of the Lord —

                Tomorrow we begin
                    ordinary times —

                St. John the Baptist
baptized Jesus in the Jordon —

                John the Baptist told his
followers — He must increase —
                    I must decrease

                Speaking of our baptism
                    Baptism is more than removing
                        sin

We are to live as an obedient
                        child of God —

                We are committed in baptism
                    to be a faithful obedient
                    child of God —

The holy water font — when we come into
                    Church —
reminds us of our baptism —
                    we bless ourselves with
                    holy water —

We have to choose to live out
                    our baptism —
                    We must make a commitment
                    to follow God's will —

                R. We hear from Hebrews during
the week days these letters written
                by Paul —

                    Jesus — the High Priest

Jesus gives to us the Mass

We are to bear trials in this world
                    patiently and to walk in
                    faith —

St. Mark was a companion of
                    St. Paul and coworker
                    of St. Peter —

St. Mark's Gospel is short —
we see Jesus in this Gospel —
                    we know Him

He gives us the parables —
we contact Jesus in this Gospel

                Jesus endured the cross before
                    attaining His glory

                We must follow Christ He
is the Way, the Truth and
                    the Life —

We walk in the footsteps of
                    Jesus if we really want
                    to follow Him —

Hebrews 1: 1-6

At many moments in the past and by many means, God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets; but in our time, the final days, he has spoken to us in the person of his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things and through whom he made the ages. He is the reflection of God's glory and bears the impress of God's own being, sustaining all things by his powerful command; and now that he has purged sins away, he has taken his seat at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high. So he is now as far above the angels as the title which he has inherited is higher than their own name.

To which of the angels, then, has God ever said:

You are my Son, today I have fathered you,

or:

I shall be a father to him and he a son to me?

Again, when he brings the First-born into the world, he says:

Let all the angels of God pay him homage.

                R. Jesus is the Son of God —
Jesus took on our human nature —
Jesus died and rose for us —

John the Baptist prepared the way
                    for Jesus —

                Sing: A Voice Cries Out

                    John was arrested at the
                        beginning of the ministry
                        of Jesus

Mark 1: 14-20

After John had been arrested, Jesus went into Galilee. There he proclaimed the gospel from God saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is close at hand. Repent, and believe the gospel.’

As he was walking along by the Lake of Galilee he saw Simon and Simon’s brother Andrew casting a net in the lake—for they were fishermen. And Jesus said to them, ‘Come after me and I will make you into fishers of people.’ And at once they left their nets and followed him.

Going on a little further, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John; they too were in their boat, mending the nets. At once he called them and, leaving their father Zebedee in the boat with the men he employed, they went after him.

Hebrews 2: 5-12

It was not under angels that he put the world to come, about which we are speaking. Someone witnesses to this somewhere with the words: What are human beings that you spare a thought for them, a child of Adam that you care for him? For a short while you have made him less than the angels; you have crowned him with glory and honour, put all things under his feet. For in putting all things under him he made no exceptions. At present, it is true, we are not able to see that all things are under him, but we do see Jesus, who was for a short while made less than the angels, now crowned with glory and honour because he submitted to death; so that by God's grace his experience of death should benefit all humanity. It was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should, in bringing many sons to glory, make perfect through suffering the leader of their salvation. For consecrator and consecrated are all of the same stock; that is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers in the text: I shall proclaim your name to my brothers, praise you in full assembly; or in the text:

                R. Jesus gave us the Word —
Jesus showed us in His actions —
                Jesus performed miracles —
                Jesus — the Teacher —
                Jesus had miraculous power

Mark 1: 21-28

They went as far as Capernaum, and at once on the Sabbath he went into the synagogue and began to teach. And his teaching made a deep impression on them because, unlike the scribes, he taught them with authority.

And at once in their synagogue there was a man with an unclean spirit, and he shouted, ‘What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Holy One of God.’ But Jesus rebuked it saying, ‘Be quiet! Come out of him!’ And the unclean spirit threw the man into convulsions and with a loud cry went out of him. The people were so astonished that they started asking one another what it all meant, saying, ‘Here is a teaching that is new, and with authority behind it: he gives orders even to unclean spirits and they obey him.’ And his reputation at once spread everywhere, through all the surrounding Galilean countryside.

                R. Jesus died for us so we can share His life —

Hebrews 2: 14-18

Since all the children share the same human nature, he too shared equally in it, so that by his death he could set aside him who held the power of death, namely the devil, and set free all those who had been held in slavery all their lives by the fear of death. For it was not the angels that he took to himself; he took to himself the line of Abraham. It was essential that he should in this way be made completely like his brothers so that he could become a compassionate and trustworthy high priest for their relationship to God, able to expiate the sins of the people. For the suffering he himself passed through while being put to the test enables him to help others when they are being put to the test.

                R. Jesus performed many miracles —

Jesus healed the people that were
                    brought to Him —

We are to be open and listen to
                    the Holy Spirit —

We are to work as one body
                    helping each other to help
build the Kingdom of God —

                Jesus healed the lepers —

                We see Jesus' power —

He puts His hand on them —

Jesus tells us to have faith —
                Jesus teaches us and
He acts to show us His Power —
                    His healing power

Hebrews 4: 1-5, 11

Let us beware, then: since the promise never lapses, none of you must think that he has come too late for the promise of entering his place of rest. We received the gospel exactly as they did; but hearing the message did them no good because they did not share the faith of those who did listen. We, however, who have faith, are entering a place of rest, as in the text: And then in my anger I swore that they would never enter my place of rest. Now God's work was all finished at the beginning of the world; as one text says, referring to the seventh day: And God rested on the seventh day after all the work he had been doing. And, again, the passage above says: They will never reach my place of rest.

Let us, then, press forward to enter this place of rest, or some of you might copy this example of refusal to believe and be lost.

                R. Because of the sin of Adam and Eve
                    disease, disorder came into
                    the world —

We can have diseases in the body and
disorders of the soul - sin —

We see Jesus heal the sick —

The Word gives us light —
                    God calls us, human
                    beings to come to the
                    light and believe —

Hebrews 4: 12-16

The word of God is something alive and active: it cuts more incisively than any two–edged sword: it can seek out the place where soul is divided from spirit, or joints from marrow; it can pass judgement on secret emotions and thoughts. No created thing is hidden from him; everything is uncovered and stretched fully open to the eyes of the one to whom we must give account of ourselves.

Since in Jesus, the Son of God, we have the supreme high priest who has gone through to the highest heaven, we must hold firm to our profession of faith. For the high priest we have is not incapable of feeling our weaknesses with us, but has been put to the test in exactly the same way as ourselves, apart from sin. Let us, then, have no fear in approaching the throne of grace to receive mercy and to find grace when we are in need of help.

                R. Jesus came to heal all —
                Jesus died for all

                When Jesus associated with
                    tax collectors and sinners
                    and even ate with them
                    they wondered why —

Jesus said the healthy do not
                    need a physician,
                    but the sick and sinners
                    do —

God gives us the priest —
                    He is a gift —
He is anointed by God —
                    He is to be faithful

Hebrews 5: 1-10

Every high priest is taken from among human beings and is appointed to act on their behalf in relationships with God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins; he can sympathise with those who are ignorant or who have gone astray, because he too is subject to the limitations of weakness. That is why he has to make sin offerings for himself as well as for the people. No one takes this honour on himself; it needs a call from God, as in Aaron’s case. And so it was not Christ who gave himself the glory of becoming high priest, but the one who said to him: You are my Son, today I have fathered you, and in another text: You are a priest for ever, of the order of Melchizedek. During his life on earth, he offered up prayer and entreaty, with loud cries and with tears, to the one who had the power to save him from death, and, winning a hearing by his reverence, he learnt obedience, Son though he was, through his sufferings; when he had been perfected, he became for all who obey him the source of eternal salvation and was acclaimed by God with the title of high priest of the order of Melchizedek.

                R. Jesus is our Bridegroom —

In the Blue Books He refers
to Himself as the bridegroom —
He wants us to be intimately
                    united to Him —
He gives us Himself in the
                        Holy Eucharist —

                    Jesus is the Bridegroom of
                        our soul

Picture of the Sacred Heart of JesusThe Bridegroom Awaits

December 27, 1993 - 4:00a.m.

Jesus: Dear child, the Son of Man waits and you sleep in the night. I wait for you and you sleep. You know I am waiting and you are dead in your bed. Awake, My little one, when I call. You must not give in to the desires of the body. I care for your needs. Your strength comes from Me. Jump from your bed, sound the trumpet and arise, for your Savior comes in the night to bring you a message for all His children. Ready yourself, for I do not like to wait. Get up and come, child. I am God.

I am He Who made the world, He Who makes the sun shine and the baby in the womb! You make Me wait while you sleep. Rise and run, for the Lord is at hand. God awaits you and beckons you to be attentive to your calling. Sound the trumpet! Arise in the night. I am He Who comes to you. You must harken to the call. Come pronto to My request and do not tarry. I wait and I wait and I eagerly want to talk to you.

I am Jesus, Son of the Living God. Oh, child, I want these messages to reach the ends of this earth. I deliver each with such love. Will you deliver My messages to all My loved ones? They eagerly need to hear My words of love. They need to know how I feel about each one of them. They need to know that I am God. I love each child uniquely and My love is the love of God. What can you get on this earth that can compare to the love of God? You have a message declaring My love for each of My children. They are My love letters to them. Please see that they receive this letter. This is your top priority. It is a love letter to My beloved ones.

I am your Savior. I am not a myth. I am alive and I come to you. I wait in the tabernacle every day as a prisoner. Waiting and waiting in the tabernacle and who comes to be with Me? I await you, My children, to come and realize that God is in the tabernacle. I am Jesus, the Son of God, and I wait for you every day. Come to Me in your busy day. Come to Mass. Make ready your hearts and receive Me in Communion. I am there awaiting you as a groom awaiting his bride. I want to be with you, united in Holy Communion. I am truly present there, but which of you come? I wait for each of you. I am God. I can love you each so intently you do not understand. Your brother does not make up your love to Me. I wait, you little ones. Will you come and receive your love this day?

Ready your hearts and keep them holy. God will enter there. Prepare the way for Me. Do not sin. Do not lie to yourselves and tell yourself that some sins are of no account. Every sin is wrong. I tell you what is right and wrong in your hearts. You know the Ten Commandments. Satan tells you "but in this case, you are exempt", "this is out of date, you are allowed here." No, little ones, sin is sin and your heart knows what is wrong! Keep it pure. The more you lie to yourself about evil, the more right it becomes. Oh, how sad to numb your beautiful heart and accept the things of this world that are evil as okay. Evil is evil and you must guard against any evil the world tells you is okay.

I am the way, the truth and the life. When you abide in My ways, you possess the light of life. Do not be pulled into the world and its evil ways. Ready yourself for My love. I am as a bridegroom awaiting his bride. So pure, so white, so untainted she appears, just for her loved one. Her ways are gentle and kind and she is a picture of holiness, dressed in a white gown. Dress your soul in a white gown for Me. Keep your soul clothed in a cloth of dignity, a white cloth untainted by any sin, pure as the bride who meets her groom. Our meeting is with such love.

You enter My church, you walk My aisle. Your bridegroom awaits you in Communion. I am the bridegroom of your hearts. I come with such love to enter your soul. I am He Who walks with you to be united in Communion. I am Jesus. I am your true Love. I wait for you, My child. Please clean yourself up for My arrival! Think of My coming the day before and eagerly await our union. This is the greatest event of your life, union with God. Anticipate it with such eagerness, as the wedding of our hearts. I await you, little ones. I am God. What could this world ever give you that can be likened to God's entering your soul?

I am God and I come to you in Communion. Do you wait for Me, the bridegroom of your soul? Do you wait as one who is going to one's own wedding? This event far surpasses any wedding. It is you who are missing the significance here. I am here every Mass waiting, just for you. Get dressed, purify yourself, see the priest, go to confession, guard your tongue as the opening to your soul. I enter therein and you receive God, my child. Do you not comprehend this a little?

Read My words here. They are as real as the eyes you use to read them. It is you who blind yourself to all I have to give you. You do not reach with the things of the soul. You look for explanations in bodily things. To see the soul and the things of God you must reach with the eyes of God. You must be opened by the faith I eagerly want to give you. Beg to be open to Me so I can give you all you need to know Me. This world is blurring your Godly vision. It is hard to see through the mask of evil it has created. Every day the mask becomes more dense.

I am here, little one. You must die to this world to see Me. You don't need more of the world. You need less of the world. As the world decreases, your knowledge of Me increases. Take the mask off your face. Make your hearts pure. Pray to the Holy Spirit for His gifts of wisdom, understanding, counsel, fear of God-all gifts that only He can give! Fill your hearts with the gifts of the Spirit. He will remove the blinders from your eyes and dwell in your soul. You will know a new life and I will become so much more alive to you. You, child, need the Spirit!

The way to God is through Jesus. You need the Spirit. You need the Father. You need all three. Pray to be made whole in the Holy Trinity. Pray for union with God. Pray for the things of the soul. When your soul is in order, all else falls into order. You needn't pray for things of the world. Pray to know Me more fully. Pray for unity with God. Pray for opening in your hearts. Pray for holiness. Pray for faith, hope, charity. Pray for knowledge of how to please God. These are the true treasures. All else is of no account. Don't recite prayers for worldly things. Pray for your union with God. This is what it is all about!

I am so eager to make Myself known to you. Our love affair awaits and it depends on you. I am here loving you. It is you who keep us apart. What could you find on this earth that could compare with a love affair with God, child? Your soul was created to know love and serve Me. It craves this union with Me. This appetite is stronger than any other you possess. You hold it back and make light of it because this world has taken God out. This world is messed up. I am God and you are a creature of God. You cannot take God from you or you remain only a creature. What dignity you sacrifice to remove God from yourself!

Prepare for the wedding of our souls. Your bridegroom awaits you. I am Jesus, Son of the one, true, God. I await your union with Me. Child, nothing you ever do on this earth can compare with Communion with God. If you do not behold this as something, you need to pray to know Me more. Go to the Spirit and beg Him for understanding and wisdom. Beg Him for all his gifts to enhance your knowledge of God. Beg the Spirit for His baptism. Let Him shower you with His life and you will become alive and on fire in your heart.

Your bridegroom awaits you. Prepare yourself for the wedding. Come, pure and white, and anticipate this union with eagerness. I love you so, My child. You will never find a speck on this earth that can compare with the love of God. Search, you feeble creature, for worldly satisfaction and you will never satisfy one little part of your soul. Your soul can only be satisfied by the love of God. It stalks your restless heart and is only satisfied in God. It craves God like an appetite except that it is much stronger. What is in your heart that is never satisfied by your worldly way? It is the soul that craves union with God. It constantly keeps you in a state of unrest, of searching, of seeking, of looking for more. The more is found in the Eucharist. It is the answer to the empty heart. It is the love you seek, but cannot find anywhere else. It is Jesus, child. It is your Bridegroom. Come and be in Communion with Him. He awaits you and bids you to come, pure in your heart, to the wedding-the wedding of your soul.

R. I felt as if there was so much I just did not understand and I was overwhelmed by the mystery of God. I opened the Blue Book to this:

Nov. 21, 1993:

Jesus: Oh, what glories I have in store for you when you finally see it all, see all there is to Me! Little glimpses I will give you. These are special treats of My love, but you, in your earthly form, cannot even handle it. My power, My light, My fire would blow you off your feet and you would be out cold.

That is how I am at your side, with a power pack like this, and you worry about a power failure? Oh, how silly, when I am with you. Trust, trust. I am here.

end of December 27, 1993

                R. In Hebrews we are being called to hope —
to not be sluggish — to remember those
who went before us teaching us through
their lives of faith and patience —
hoping to want to attain eternal
                life forever —

Hebrews 6: 13-14

When God made the promise to Abraham, he swore by his own self, since there was no one greater he could swear by: I will shower blessings on you and give you many descendants.

Hebrews 6: 13-20

When God made the promise to Abraham, he swore by his own self, since there was no one greater he could swear by: I will shower blessings on you and give you many descendants. Because of that, Abraham persevered and received fulfilment of the promise. Human beings, of course, swear an oath by something greater than themselves, and between them, confirmation by an oath puts an end to all dispute. In the same way, when God wanted to show the heirs of the promise even more clearly how unalterable his plan was, he conveyed it by an oath so that through two unalterable factors in which God could not be lying, we who have fled to him might have a vigorous encouragement to grasp the hope held out to us. This is the anchor our souls have, reaching right through inside the curtain where Jesus has entered as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest for ever, of the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 7: 1-3, 15-17

Melchizedek, king of Salem, a priest of God Most High, came to meet Abraham when he returned from defeating the kings, and blessed him; and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. By the interpretation of his name, he is, first, ‘king of saving justice’ and also king of Salem, that is, ‘king of peace’; he has no father, mother or ancestry, and his life has no beginning or ending; he is like the Son of God. He remains a priest for ever.

This becomes even more clearly evident if another priest, of the type of Melchizedek, arises who is a priest not in virtue of a law of physical descent, but in virtue of the power of an indestructible life. For he is attested by the prophecy: You are a priest for ever of the order of Melchizedek.

Psalm 110: 1, 2, 3, 4

Yahweh declared to my Lord, ‘Take your seat at my right hand,
till I have made your enemies your footstool.’

Yahweh will stretch out the sceptre of your power;
from Zion you will rule your foes all around you.

Royal dignity has been yours from the day of your birth,
sacred honour from the womb, from the dawn of your youth.

Yahweh has sworn an oath he will never retract,
you are a priest for ever of the order of Melchizedek.

                R. On the Sabbath the scribes and Pharisees
                tested Jesus —

Jesus cured the man with the
withered hand on the Sabbath —

Mark 3: 4

Then he said to them, 'Is it permitted on the Sabbath day to do good, or to do evil; to save life, or to kill?' ...

Hebrews 7: 25 - 8:6

It follows, then, that his power to save those who come to God through him is absolute, since he lives for ever to intercede for them.

Such is the high priest that met our need, holy, innocent and uncontaminated, set apart from sinners, and raised up above the heavens; he has no need to offer sacrifices every day, as the high priests do, first for their own sins and only then for those of the people; this he did once and for all by offering himself. The Law appoints high priests who are men subject to weakness; but the promise on oath, which came after the Law, appointed the Son who is made perfect for ever.

The principal point of all that we have said is that we have a high priest of exactly this kind. He has taken his seat at the right of the throne of divine Majesty in the heavens, and he is the minister of the sanctuary and of the true Tent which the Lord, and not any man, set up. Every high priest is constituted to offer gifts and sacrifices, and so this one too must have something to offer. In fact, if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, since there are others who make the offerings laid down by the Law, though these maintain the service only of a model or a reflection of the heavenly realities; just as Moses, when he had the Tent to build, was warned by God who said: See that you work to the design that was shown you on the mountain.

As it is, he has been given a ministry as far superior as is the covenant of which he is the mediator, which is founded on better promises.

                R. The Psalm tells us — Psalm 40: 6

"Sacrifice or oblation you wished not, but ears open to obedience you gave me."

In Mark we see Jesus cured many
                    and those with diseases
                    wanted to be healed —

                Jesus is the mediator —

Hebrews 8: 6-13

As it is, he has been given a ministry as far superior as is the covenant of which he is the mediator, which is founded on better promises. If that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no room for a second one to replace it. And in fact God does find fault with them; he says:

Look, the days are coming, the Lord
    declares,
when I will make a new covenant
with the House of Israel
    and the House of Judah,
but not a covenant
like the one I made with their ancestors,
the day I took them by the hand
to bring them out of Egypt,
which covenant of mine they broke,
and I too abandoned them,
    the Lord declares.
No, this is the covenant
I will make with the House of Israel,
when those days have come,
    the Lord declares:
In their minds I shall plant my laws
writing them on their hearts.
Then I shall be their God,
and they shall be my people.
There will be no further need
for each to teach his neighbour,
and each his brother,
saying ‘Learn to know the Lord!’
No, they will all know me,
from the least to the greatest,
since I shall forgive their guilt
and never more call their sins to mind.

By speaking of a new covenant, he implies that the first one is old. And anything old and ageing is ready to disappear.

                R. Jesus selected 12 — they are
                    taught by Jesus, they are
                    friends of Jesus and they
are to proclaim the Gospel —

                Jesus loved the crowd following
                    Him —
                Jesus ministered to them —
                    even when He couldn't eat
because of the crowd pressing on Him —

His relatives said He was out of
                    His mind.

Hebrews 9: 15, 24-28

This makes him the mediator of a new covenant, so that, now that a death has occurred to redeem the sins committed under an earlier covenant, those who have been called to an eternal inheritance may receive the promise.

It is not as though Christ had entered a man–made sanctuary which was merely a model of the real one; he entered heaven itself, so that he now appears in the presence of God on our behalf. And he does not have to offer himself again and again, as the high priest goes into the sanctuary year after year with the blood that is not his own, or else he would have had to suffer over and over again since the world began. As it is, he has made his appearance once and for all, at the end of the last age, to do away with sin by sacrificing himself. Since human beings die only once, after which comes judgement, so Christ too, having offered himself only once to bear the sin of many, will manifest himself a second time, sin being no more, to those who are waiting for him, to bring them salvation.

                R. In Mark's Gospel we hear a
                    house divided against itself
                    will fall apart —

Hebrews 9: 15

This makes him the mediator of a new covenant, so that, now that a death has occurred to redeem the sins committed under an earlier covenant, those who have been called to an eternal inheritance may receive the promise.

Hebrews 10: 1-10

So, since the Law contains no more than a reflection of the good things which were still to come, and no true image of them, it is quite incapable of bringing the worshippers to perfection, by means of the same sacrifices repeatedly offered year after year. Otherwise, surely the offering of them would have stopped, because the worshippers, when they had been purified once, would have no awareness of sins. Otherwise, surely the offering of them would have stopped, because the worshippers, when they had been purified once, would have no awareness of sins. Bulls' blood and goats' blood are incapable of taking away sins, and that is why he said, on coming into the world:

You wanted no sacrifice or cereal offering,
but you gave me a body.
You took no pleasure in burnt offering'
   or sacrifice for sin;
then I said, 'Here I am, I am coming,'
in the scroll of the book it is written of me,
to do your will, God.

He says first You did not want what the Law lays down as the things to be offered, that is: the sacrifices, the cereal offerings, the burnt offerings and the sacrifices for sin, and you took no pleasure in them; and then he says: Here I am! I am coming to do your will. He is abolishing the first sort to establish the second. And this will was for us to be made holy by the offering of the body of Jesus Christ made once and for all.

                R. Jesus said in Mark 3 "whoever does the will
                    of God is my brother,
                    my sister, my mother" —

Hebrews 10: 11-18

Every priest stands at his duties every day, offering over and over again the same sacrifices which are quite incapable of taking away sins. He, on the other hand, has offered one single sacrifice for sins, and then taken his seat for ever, at the right hand of God, where he is now waiting till his enemies are made his footstool. By virtue of that one single offering, he has achieved the eternal perfection of all who are sanctified. The Holy Spirit attests this to us, for after saying:

No, this is the covenant
    I will make with them,
when those days have come.

the Lord says:

In their minds I will plant my Laws
writing them on their hearts,
and I shall never more
    call their sins to mind
,
or their offences.

When these have been forgiven, there can be no more sin offerings.

                Excerpt from January 26, 2011

                R. Go out to the world and spread the
                    Good News

                Announce God's gift of
                    salvation day after day —

                Praise God —

                Give Glory to God —

In St. Mark's Gospel we hear about Jesus'
                    healing, casting out demons —
                    we heard about miracles —
                    some people were excited about
                        Jesus
                    some were plotting against
                        Jesus

                Today's Gospel sums up

Jesus speaks of a yield exceptionally large:
                    20, 30 and 100 fold —

                Farmers were happy with 10%
                    yield many times —

                Fr. Joe says
A good story in the Gospel —

We are all of us — all 4 of
                    these at once —

Some parts of us are distracted —
                    some times we are not
                    enthusiastic —
                    some times we are —

But this is why we have Lent
                    to help us grow

We pray for those who are
                    distracted, not open —
                    we pray for ourselves —

We pray for those who do not
hear the Word in depth —

We pray for ourselves to hear the Word
That we are to bear fruit for the
                    Kingdom —

                Unity — working as one
                Relationship — being reconciled

Not being a rival to God's will to
                    work and love with each
                    other in harmony —

To encourage one another like Paul
did to Titus and Timothy —

Jesus is the Bread of Life —

The Word and the Eucharist are
                        the Bread of Life

Because of original sin we have
                    a wounded human nature —

In baptism we receive a sharing
                    in His life —
                    our knowing and loving
                    capacity is elevated —

                R. Jesus calls us to listen and learn —
to listen and be His disciple —

Jesus tells us to let our light
                    shine —

St. Paul tells us we must have
                    faith —

                Jesus speaks in parables —

Mark 5: 30-32

Parable of the mustard seed

He also said, ‘What can we say that the kingdom is like? What parable can we find for it? It is like a mustard seed which, at the time of its sowing, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth. Yet once it is sown it grows into the biggest shrub of them all and puts out big branches so that the birds of the air can shelter in its shade.’

                Excerpt from January 29, 2011

"Faith is the firm assurance of
what is hoped for that is
                    not seen" —

Jesus truly died for us —

Jesus' promise to us of salvation
                        for those who love and
serve the Lord are real —

                Abraham had such faith he
                    was going to offer Isaac
                    as a sacrifice —

God is a God of miracles —

In the Gospel today we see how He
quieted the sea and it obeyed
                    Him —

We see Him driving out the demons of the
                    man possessed by demons

The devil tries to tempt us —

He wants us to give into our
                    tendencies to seek power over
                    those over us —
                    pride —
the devil wants us to be angry and
                        jealous, envious, slothful —
                        obsessive, lustful, gluttonous —
                        anything that is against
                        God's will —

The devil wants us to be a rival
                    to God's will —
The devil presses on our feelings —

He wants emotion in it —
                    old hurt feelings —
                    old unhealed wounds projected
                        on innocent others —

                Jesus in working miracles like
                    raising Jarius' daughter —

                teaches us about faith —
Jesus teaches us about His might —

We are to have faith in Him —

                Abraham was searching — always
going to the home God was
                    leading him to —

                Likewise through the trials we
                    undergo — we are being
led — like Abraham if we
endure and listen to God —
                    to do His will —
we will go to our heavenly
                    home —
we go over many places —
                    searching —
                    looking for water to refresh
                        our spirit —
                    following Christ even when
                        it is tough —

It is the path of Christ we follow

We follow God's will like our
                    Father Abraham and
we have a strong faith —
We want our heavenly home —
                        promised to us by God
if we follow Him as we
                        were commanded —
                        if we love —

We don't listen to satan who
wants us to get off the path —
                    give in to weakness —
                    hurt others

Abraham was a man of integrity —

The map is the map God is giving
                    us to follow

We are to love God and love
                    one another —

We see the heroes of the Old Testament

Hebrews 11: 32-40

What more shall I say? There is not time for me to give an account of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, or of David, Samuel and the prophets. These were men who through faith conquered kingdoms, did what was upright and earned the promises. They could keep a lion's mouth shut, put out blazing fires and emerge unscathed from battle. They were weak people who were given strength to be brave in war and drive back foreign invaders. Some returned to their wives from the dead by resurrection; and others submitted to torture, refusing release so that they would rise again to a better life. Some had to bear being pilloried and flogged, or even chained up in prison. They were stoned, or sawn in half, or killed by the sword; they were homeless, and wore only the skins of sheep and goats; they were in want and hardship, and maltreated. They were too good for the world and they wandered in deserts and mountains and in caves and ravines. These all won acknowledgment through their faith, but they did not receive what was promised, since God had made provision for us to have something better, and they were not to reach perfection except with us.

                We see men getting persecuted
                    for their faith —

We keep in our mind — the
                    images of the rosary —

                Jesus' Baptism at the Jordon

The face of Jesus at His birth —

                The 3 Kings —

                Jesus teaching in the temple
                    at 12

The Sermon on the Mount —

                The Marriage at Cana and
                    Mary saying
"Do whatever He tells you" —

                The Transfiguration and the
                    voice of the Father —

                The Last Supper

                ALL Positive Images —

                The Miracles of Jesus —

Jesus fed them with so few
                    loaves and fish —

                The Miracles of Jesus —
                    Jesus healed the lepers —

                Jesus healed the paralytics

                There are temptations all through
                    life —
                    We want our thoughts to
                        be according to the will
                        of God —

We can discipline our thoughts —
We can think of peace, love
                        and joy —
We can focus on God's might —

We can choose to get distracted
                        and focus on things other
than what God wants for us —

We must keep our eyes focused
                    on Jesus —

We pray for an increase of faith,
                    hope and love —

Jesus did not give up the fight
even when faced with death —

We can make suffering for ourselves
and others by choosing to oppose
                    God's will —

We can hurt so many people when
                    we give into our angry
                    feeling and choose to hurt
                    others for power - over
                    others —

Jesus gives us His miracles in
                    the scriptures —

We can rely on His Might —

The world wants us to think we
                    aren't supposed to suffer —
                    babies die —
                    people get cancer —
                    suffering is imminent in our
                        life —

We do get persecuted for standing
                    up for Jesus —
Look at those who went before us —
Look at Jesus — He was put to death

                Those really following Christ are
                    persecuted — this is a reality —

                God trains us —
God allows us to suffer —
                Jesus was rejected —
                Jesus had enemies —
                Jesus was rejected —

Jesus died and Mary and John —
                    Mary Magdalene were under
                    the cross —

When Jesus was in the garden
                    suffering — His Apostles
                    slept —

                Peter denied Jesus 3 times
                    worrying what people thought —

                But Judas betrayed Jesus and
                    his sin was deep

Mark 5: 1-20

They reached the territory of the Gerasenes on the other side of the lake, and when he disembarked, a man with an unclean spirit at once came out from the tombs towards him. The man lived in the tombs and no one could secure him any more, even with a chain, because he had often been secured with fetters and chains but had snapped the chains and broken the fetters, and no one had the strength to control him. All night and all day, among the tombs and in the mountains, he would howl and gash himself with stones. Catching sight of Jesus from a distance, he ran up and fell at his feet and shouted at the top of his voice, 'What do you want with me, Jesus, son of the Most High God? In God's name do not torture me!' For Jesus had been saying to him, 'Come out of the man, unclean spirit.' Then he asked, 'What is your name?' He answered, 'My name is Legion, for there are many of us.' And he begged him earnestly not to send them out of the district. Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding, and the unclean spirits begged him, 'Send us to the pigs, let us go into them.' So he gave them leave. With that, the unclean spirits came out and went into the pigs, and the herd of about two thousand pigs charged down the cliff into the lake, and there they were drowned. The men looking after them ran off and told their story in the city and in the country round about; and the people came to see what had really happened. They came to Jesus and saw the demoniac sitting there — the man who had had the legion in him — properly dressed and in his full senses, and they were afraid. And those who had witnessed it reported what had happened to the demoniac and what had become of the pigs. Then they began to implore Jesus to leave their neighbourhood. As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed begged to be allowed to stay with him. Jesus would not let him but said to him, 'Go home to your people and tell them all that the Lord in his mercy has done for you.' So the man went off and proceeded to proclaim in the Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him. And everyone was amazed.

                R. Jesus tells us about a man in
chains with an unclean spirit —
                When satan attacks continually
and one sins — they do what
satan wants — not God's will for
                them —

                Excerpt from January 26, 2011

                R. A venial sin is an offense against God
                    in a lighter matter —

Venial sin does not destroy sanctifying grace
                    in the soul

Venial sin weakens the soul and disposes
it to more serious sin —

                January 30, 2001 continues

                R. We can give into our tendencies
                    for seeking dominance for
                    dominance sake —

A person can be blind wanting
to control and always try to be in charge

My friend today talked about the priest's
                    homily —

being addicted to power he said —
having to control — which is
                    an addiction —

I talked to my priest brother the other
day and he told me about power - struggles —

He said a person just wants to control —
wants power — so they have this
                    power - struggle —

                I call it a blind side —
                    a habit —
                    a vice —
                    seeing impurely — where satan
presses in and the person sees only
through eyes of raising - up above
                    others for power sake —

God works powerfully in harmony —
if a person is addicted to power
                        they can punish others —
                        manipulate material and events
                        to be on top —

We are to act because it is God's will —

A person can be as addicted to
                    control as alcohol —
                    addicted to doing whatever is
necessary to never go along and
                    work together —
                    addicted to power —

God wants us to work in structure —
                    to obey rules —
                    to do God's will —
to not do things because of our
                        vices and impurities

St. Ignatius says — (from the Spiritual Exercises)

Excerpt from A MEDITATION ON TWO STANDARDS

142. THIRD POINT.   Consider the address he makes to them, how he goads them on to lay snares for men and bind them with chains. First they are to tempt them to covet riches (as Satan himself is accustomed to do in most cases) that they may the more easily attain the empty honors of this world, and then come to overweening pride.

The first step, then, will be riches, the second honor, the third pride. From these three steps the evil one leads to all other vices.

                R. Jesus healed the man with the
                    unclean spirit —

The man must want to be cleaned —

Pray for the grace to know God's will
Pray for the grace to do God's will

God has given us a cloud of witnesses
                who obeyed God —

We need to get rid of sin and selfishness —
We need to have faith —
We need to persevere for Christ —

                Jesus is our leader —
                Learn from Jesus
                Learn from the Word
                Learn from the saints

We see Jesus' power to raise
                    Jarius' daughter from
                    the dead

We know God's power to heal
                    men dead in sin —
                    We have confession —
                    We have the priest —

We will be persecuted for God's sake —

Words of Jesus to Members of
Shepherds of Christ Associates:

"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.

"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.

"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."
