Messenger: "It's
all about me"
I saw this on a cute bunny.
It is all about Jesus.
We must do what God wants us to.
A person woke up one day and then
someone irritated them so they
didn't do what they were suppose
to.
In this situation one is controlled from
outside - not from what God is
telling them inside.
Satan can help to tempt with old
memories or situations that in
some way press on old wounds
or unmet needs.
Lovers are actors --
No matter what they did to Christ --
He withstood it and did what He
came to do.
He went to the cross willingly.
Jesus speaks: I speak now of vocations --
People take vows of poverty,
chastity and obedience in orders
many times --
In a religious order there is a superior.
In many saint stories tell of
how they struggled to obey
superiors.
A person dedicated to the religious
life in a community may be called
to that mission. In one mission
caring for the dying, hospitals
etc.
Obedience to superiors, to the
pope etc. is a big part of the
structure of My Church.
A person entering religious life,
wanting a job to serve a religious
order -- does not come and expect the
order to serve them.
Mozart had a mission to compose
music. He did it. If a religious
is hired to do a task that serves
the ministry -- it is like any other
job -- the person does the job
description -- they don't decide to
start their own ministry based on
what they want to do or try or
learn.
I have given My mission for
a particular purpose to help bring
to completion the mission Mary
began at Fatima -- it was set when
Fr. Carter died.

WE CIRCULATE A SPIRITUALITY NEWSLETTER written by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J., a Jesuit Theologian with a Doctor's degree in Theology and author of 17 books, to about 75,000 priests in the world in both English and Spanish. Father Carter has been a professor of Theology for over 30 years.
Besides being sent to about 75,000 priests and bishops in the U.S.A., the newsletter is sent internationally to about 225 bishops, including 4 cardinals, who distribute copies to all of their priests, and also, in some cases, to their deacons and seminarians.
The newsletter is centered in consecration to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. It features writings regarding our union with Jesus and the Father and the Holy Spirit and Mary. The newsletter also stresses the Eucharist, the Church, prayer, and one's responsibility regarding the social order. The newsletter stresses sound doctrine as found in Scripture, the writings of the Popes and other Church documents. It also presents selected writings from the saints and competent priest-theologians and others.
The newsletter can be used by all for development in the spiritual life centered in consecration.

We have described above the primary ministry of the Movement, the spirituality newsletter for priests, Shepherds of Christ. The 2nd most important ministry is the prayer chapters, whose members pray for the needs of priests and for the needs of all others also. Other ministries include promoting the act of consecration to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary as widely as possible. Promoting this act of consecration permeates all of our ministries. We also promote the praying of the rosary, and we have a special program regarding the rosary and the act of consecration for school children. We have programs for prisons and nursing homes to encourage the residents to pray for priests, the Church, and the world. We also publish various books, cassette tapes, and other materials to help in the ongoing work of spiritual renewal.
The mission of the Shepherds of Christ Movement is closely connected to Our Lady of Fatima's mission. We hope to play a major role in helping to bring fulfillment of the Peace Plan of Our Lady of Fatima. This plan includes:
Consecration to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary—until a sufficient number of people make and live the consecration, we will not have peace in the world.
Praying the rosary.
Observing the First Saturday Devotion.
Making reparation to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
In helping to bring the Fatima message to completion, the Shepherds of Christ Movement is helping to bring about the Reign of the Sacred Heart and the triumph of the Immaculate Heart. This is a great privilege and a great responsibility! We ask for your prayers and help in other ways also. May God bless you abundantly!
LEVELS OF COMMITMENTThere are seven levels of commitment in the Shepherds of Christ Movement.
There are Associates who gather and pray at least once monthly as a group and also help with donations to support the Shepherds of Christ priestly newsletter. They can be tremendously involved. They give as they feel they are able.
Apostles are members who have restricted their apostolic activity to the Shepherds of Christ. They literally act as a body of lay people who have given their lives in their present living situation to do all that they can to bring about the Reign of the Sacred Heart and the triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart.
Prayer Apostles are often shut-ins, some are able to go to church and pray. They spend much of their lives praying for the Movement.
Apostles of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus are those who spend at least two separate hours weekly before the Blessed Sacrament praying for the following:
For the spread of the devotion to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary culminating in the reign of the Sacred Heart and the triumph of the Immaculate Heart.
For the Pope.
For all bishops of the world.
For all priests.
For all sisters and brothers in the religious life.
For all members of the Shepherds of Christ Movement, and for the spread of this Movement to the world.
For all members of the Catholic Church.
For all members of the human family.
For all souls in purgatory.
Handmaids of the Good Shepherd are young and older women who have given their lives in community primarily to pray for the Shepherds of Christ Movement and intentions and to be special spouses of Jesus. Some have more duties than others. All have the primary duty of prayer and the desire to be a special spouse of our Lord. One of the functions of the handmaids is the involvement in praying for and helping to circulate the priestly newsletter. The handmaids are not members of a religious order.
Servants of the Good Shepherd are men who live in community with a lifestyle and purpose similar to that of the handmaids. The servants are not members of a religious order.
We wish to form a special congregation of priests who will realize their great oneness with Christ. They will be consecrated deeply to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary and support the Shepherds of Christ Movement as holy priests.
Whatever one's level of commitment in the Shepherds of Christ Movement, all share in promoting the overall goal of the Movement. This goal is to help in the spiritual renewal of the Church and the world. All varied ministries of the Movement are directed toward this purpose. The spirituality which the Shepherds of Christ Movement presents to its members and to those outside the Movement through its various ministries is very basic. This spirituality is explicitly Trinitarian and Christocentric. Our spirituality helps others, especially priests, to develop a very deep union with Jesus, this Jesus Who leads us to the Father in the Holy Spirit with Mary at our side. Our spirituality is deeply Eucharistic. We stress very much participation in the Mass and prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. We also emphasize the extremely important role of prayer in the spiritual life. Devotion to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, especially consecration to Their Hearts, is also a most important and central element. We are very much interested in helping to bring the Fatima message to completion, a message which has consecration to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary at its very core.
Father Edward J. Carter, S.J.
Father Edward Carter, S.J. was a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. A graduate of St. Xavier High School and Xavier University, both in Cincinnati, he was ordained a priest in 1962 and received his doctorate in theology from Catholic University of America four years later. He was a professor of theology at Xavier University in Cincinnati for over 30 years. He has authored 17 books in the area of Catholic spirituality. His two latest books are the priestly newsletter books, which include the newsletters from almost six years. He is devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

It is difficult because of willfulness
to establish the rules in the beginning
of any order.
I called for special clothing
for servants and handmaids. I want
this obeyed.
A way of life is a way of life --
This way of life, the clothing etc.
was well established before Fr. Carter's
death over 5 years ago.
A person that does not want to
follow the job description, is like
someone being hired at the 10 cent
store to take care of the cash
register, but because of willfulness
they cause problems to have
freedom to do as they want -- then
say, I have so much free-time
I will paint pictures. The cashier
job is unattended to or another
must work twice as hard to
cover their job and the other
cashier job rather than fight
with a willful party -- than you
say -- let the hiree go they
do not do the work they were
hired to do. They want pay or
recognition as a cashier, but
they do nothing -- they are argumentative
so they can be free of the job and
yet they begin to put demands on
the store to supply them with
paint and brushes for their other work --
complaining constantly for unmet
needs. You say fire them.
Messenger: I heard a
little girl talking
once as she played with two
little dolls -- she had the one
firing the other doll, saying
"you're fired". At three she knew
something about agreements -- if
an agreement isn't meet -- someone
could fire the other guy.
In trying to deal with love
and relationships, jobs etc. -- there
are boundaries, agreements, unspoken
rules, purposes, love, ethics, justice etc. --
all this goes into a job whether
at Church or in a religious
order, but people involved in
religious things may try just
as many tactics or more than people
in the world.
Jesus speaks: In My Movement, I
have
called the people to serve the
mission I set down firmly
before Fr. Carter's death.
There are problems in relationships.
Some can manipulate in all
kinds of ways to be in charge.
To get a simple job accomplished
can be a battle of wills.
If a person is honestly living
to try to serve as the institution
was intended they won't begin a
"rug operation" when it was not
designated.
I have blessed the world with
My messages of love. My Movement
is not a retirement home. Even
the elderly of 78 are very active
praying much of the day for the
needs of My Movement and the priests,
the Church and the world. These
elderly, some, still go to nursing
homes and tell the people about
the Morning Offering and Jesus' love,
Our Lady of Clearwater, the songs,
prayers and messages.
Love is kindness --
Love is doing what it takes
to have a personal love union with
God.
In the Shepherds of Christ, the people are
called to love and grow more and more in their
intimate, personal, love union with Me.
They have a special spousal union
with Me. The Mass is the center
of their day, they never skip the
morning offering and most do one
hour of adoration. This work
cannot be accomplished
(as a servant, handmaid,
apostle) without this solid
hour of adoration and Mass.
Doing a task to help a lot of souls
may be accompanied by suffering,
but you do not lose your peace.
A person rooted in Me, never
loses their peace even in suffering --
they ALWAYS have that connection
to Me.
Not doing the hour, not attending
daily Mass and trying to do this work will
be impossible to do. You need
the grace from a serious, committed
prayer life with Me to avoid
giving into the attacks from satan.
Being attacked by satan will
happen -- you have a free
will to give in or not. The daily
prayer life for servants, handmaids
and apostles is paramount -- so
the grace is there to withstand
satan's attacks.
Cling to Me
Jesus speaks: My dear child, if you stay close to Me, then I live in you and you live in Me. I am He Who created you and I love you with such an intensity that you will never know. My words are your truth. You must abide in My heart in all things. There is no room for doubt. My ways are steadfast, direct, and without error.
You must stay rooted in Me to ward off the power of the evil one. His grip is paralyzing and crippling. His power is stronger every day.
When you live in Me, I am in your heart and he has no power over Me. I am your God. I am your true lover. I want to protect you. I want to guard you from this force. Stay rooted firmly in Me and he will have no power.
I am He Who comforts you. My hand is upon you. Hold tight to Me, My child. My eyes are fixed right on you. You are My most precious child. I love you as no other can. My arms are about you. My tenderness surrounds you. My love is in your heart. You go not alone. I walk with you.
I share every aspect of your life with you. Cling to Me, feel My presence. It is warm and secure within your chest. There is no room for fear, for I cast out fear and bring you comfort and joy.

Jesus speaks: As the day went on --
the sky was
still blue, the sun shining, but
Megan was not seeing it -- she
was trapped in her thoughts
which were being attacked by the
devil and she could have done her
hour, prayed the rosary, read
a Blue Book Message, but she was
being gripped in desolation and
acting on the darkness, out of
the darkness within her.
The problem was in her heart,
she was competitive, always trying
to prove how perfect and right she
was -- above everyone else -- that
was the motive of her actions and it
was impure --
Light is in this -- you act in
love -- YOU ACT
A person being attacked by
satan is being pressed on -- they
are not acting freely -- they give
into satan's temptation and he
is accomplishing his work
through them.
In today's world -- little focus,
or not enough is given to how
one must develop their spiritual
life. Also one is not made
aware how real satan
really is that he
presses on a person to give into
temptation and do his work.
Sue was continually operating
in willfulness against the grain --
she called it "doing it her way".
After repeated attempts of the head
of the institution to do jobs, she
gave none to Sue because, Sue
was unpredictable and many times
the second she was given a job
her creativeness made new
big problems, instead of
accomplishing a task.
A person with this connection
with Me inside does not
lose that connection -- even
under duress.
A person that is connected to
Me does not angrily run
in despair because some
person acted a certain way
toward them -- Who is
in control of them?
The hour of adoration is crucial
for servants, handmaids and apostles.
The hourly prayer, praying for grace
every hour helps in times
of attack and suffering.

Jesus speaks: A person not understanding
authority from childhood
may make a decision
never to be under anyone -
ever --
The devil can use this to block
someone's vocation to be
a priest -- priests must
be obedient to their bishops.
Superiors should never use abuse
to try to change anyone's
disobedience -- any form of
authority is done in love --
always, realizing the person
has a free will to obey or not --
if they repeatedly do not obey --
get angry then they are
not a help to the community and
should leave or be asked to leave.
If a person says they quit in
anger, it may be tolerated once,
but after that it is a means
they may be using to manipulate,
get power or control if they stay.
People who have become so desperate
they threaten suicide are usually
doing so to get something back
and really don't want to end
their lives. This kind of desperations
is a disorder caused many times
because of some chemical
imbalance, lack of connectedness
to God, pain so dark from the
past they want to escape it --
The immediate situation may
have little to do with their
erratical behavior. The pain
they have had so long may be
projected at those they live
with, but the anger and
darkness has been
with
them, their whole life no matter who
they were with.
As long as someone can get away
acting out old pain on others they
will use all kinds of manipulative
techniques to make themselves look
good to themselves, then attack after
being so nice. Abusers and the honey-
moon cycle is like this. They
have some kind of bond with another --
play nice games, then the
tension builds until they let
go -- climax and then it starts
all over again. Playing games to manipulate
others is for children and they must
learn it is wrong. A baby throwing
a temper tantrum because they are
tired might get away with it --
28, 38 year old men and women at
work, playing games in a healthy
productive environment get fired.
This is why a man leaves his father and mother, and the two become one flesh. They are no longer two, therefore, but one flesh. Mark 10: 7-8
Jesus speaks: In entering religious life
a candidate leaves mom and dad and
the new spouse is Jesus.
A person enters religious
life to be married to Jesus.
If they do not see this they may
be unhealthily attached to mom and
dad and mom and dad can manipulate
a 30 year old person.
If a person marries another -- the
husband or wife may help this
maturation where the child is
in charge of their life.
Parents controlling 'children's'
lives, especially at age 30, 40 can
cause major problems to one's vocation.
There is all kinds of dysfunction.
A man and woman marrying usually
let go of mom and dad controlling
their lives.
In dysfunctional families -- divorces
can occur when parents interfere
to be rescuers, not giving the
married couple a chance to get
along. Money is used as a means
of control. Monthly cycles
in which women are operating
under hormonal changes may
affect things so much, that
during the pre-cycle the person
does so much damage to situations,
they may spend the rest of the
month, because of pride, proving
nothing happened, blaming others
and changing the truth. A person
that does this month after month
may get in a habit of changing
the truth to protect themselves.
The Our Father says it all --
"forgive us our trespasses as we
forgive those who trespasses against us"
People who do nasty things
because of cycles are real
problems, overlooked many times.
Messenger: The alcoholic may drink and
lie --
because we see alcohol -- we
know there is a problem --
People who are severely affected
because of chemical things,
or PMS -- may learn to lie,
but many divorces are
caused because a simple
"I am sorry, my menstrual
cycle was coming and I was
tense" was never
spoken --
Instead they may blame the
other for their nastiness
or irrational behavior.
How many times would someone
accept such lies projected
at them?
God has allowed us to suffer
physical problems, but
the normal person should
be okay without medication,
but living in the truth
is the key to oneness --
living in holiness --
saying the Our Father --
God wants oneness in the world --
when we act irrationally
because of PMS, a person must
in intimate relationships admit
any bad behavior and say they
are sorry --
A life of lying every 28 days --
and spending the month proving
you were right is not the truth.
Jesus speaks: A woman had a bad day and she
screamed at her children --
10 years later -- she was just
the same -- screaming
for about 10-14 days and
lying the next 2 weeks
acting like nothing happened.
She taught herself to lie and not
tell the truth -- this is
a block to deep union with
Me.
Married couples must learn to love
even in troubles, sharing
feelings, but telling the
truth and saying they are
sorry when they act wrongfully.
If you want intimacy with
Me -- you must admit your
nasty ways and say you are
sorry.
Living in the light -- means
"Loving and forgiving"
A man was in a job 10 years --
he was always mad --
he learned it at home and
projected it on someone in
his present life--
Most of the time the people in
his present life hadn't
done anything to hurt him --
He had so much pride, for
someone to give him a simple
direction he was offended -- like
the lady hired at the 10 cent store --
When the angry man was addressed --
he began yelling and said
he would quit --
He couldn't even see the
very act of yelling was
a sign of his anger to
everybody, but him.
He denied it and continued
it everywhere he went --
It was his problem, but he tried
to blame it on everybody
else, to make it look like he
never yelled in anger and
everyone watched the
anger for years and still
loved him, but he just
got angrier and angrier -- he
blamed the boss and those
around him everywhere he
went, but
he wouldn't recognize his
own anger
His yelling was not anger --
those around him were
wrong --
He would break down and tell
others how he was violated,
but he himself had
hurt many over and over again,
lying and saying it wasn't
him.
It is important to be with each
other and to see ourselves --
A person never recognizing
a superior over them will
work to raise themselves up
in anyway they can.
They will not purely do the
work for doing the work --
the answer may be to them --
how will this contribute
to my dominance in the end --
After performing menial tasks
for a while -- they scream
and protest, if the tasks
have not brought them
victory over their
superior.
The purity of action is to do it
for the purpose of that institution.
