Come and Let Me Fill You

Jesus: My little ones, peace, love and joy. All this is from Me. You need to hold on to My hand and feel My presence with you. I am the way, I am the truth, I am the light. I come to you in a bed of peace.

Your light is growing dim. You need to be charged by Me. Come and be with Me, My little flower. Come and sit with Me alone. Put your trust totally in Me. Don't listen to others. I give you all you need. I am your God. You are My chosen daughter. Come and be filled by Me. I am Jesus, your love. I never leave you, even though you feel so empty. Come and let Me fill you. I am Jesus, Son of the Living God. All who are weary, come and I give you rest.

R. Hosanna in the Highest.

Bring Your Children To Me

Jesus: You were blind but now you see, My child. Your doubt, your fear, is all coming from him who wants desperately to stop you. This is your cross. Trust in Me. I will make the crooked ways straight. Enemies speak to each other and I have cleaned the tattered heart. I have sent Satan on his way and you will know a peace within your soul. Continue as you are doing. It is My word you are spreading. I want this word to circulate. Take the pressure from your brow. Let loose of all anxieties. Satan is pressing down, but he has been cast into hell. Feel a release of all that pressure.

You, My child, are receiving these messages from Me. I have told you so many times you must listen to every word I speak to you. These are words of divine wisdom. You do not have such insights. Please trust in Me. I am truly by your side. I want time alone with you every day, a total giving of yourself to Me. I am the God of Jacob and Joseph and your fathers and I talk to you now. These messages are for you and I am delivering them to you. I will give you a confirmation of My word. You are so doubting. Where is your faith, My daughter? Do you think you could write this? This message must be given to all. All must know what transpires on these pages. Do all you can to duplicate these letters. I want My words to get out. You are My messenger to reach many. Have nothing more to do with your teaching. Spread only My word. Don't waste time in idle talk. You must do as you are told. Quit all your socializing. You won't save the world except through Me. I use you to reach many-not one, not two. You are going about it in the wrong way. Publicize these letters. Speak in a crowd. I give you the wisdom to speak. My time is very short. You musn't tarry around making small talk to one or two. I will tell you that which I want you to do.

I need you to do this work. One hour a day in adoration in front of the tabernacle. No excuses! Bring your children to Me. Pray with them. Read them every message. These messages are for all children, not a few. They must circulate. Obey Me and do your work. Always write each day and spend an hour with Me. Mass, Communion, your children! Strive to be holy as your heavenly Father is holy. Always do as I would do. My work is hard. It is tough work-acting as I would is the hardest thing to do-but frees you up instantly. My ways make for peace and your happiness. Strive to be holy. Never underestimate how you should act. Forgive, love, be there for your children, pray to Me, be of Me! I want My messages to get out. Don't tarry any more.

I am jealous. I want your time every day. You must be with Me. My little one, I will give you your sign. You are a doubting Thomas. You are doing as I wish and you lack trust and faith. Trust is placing yourself entirely in My hands. You are totally selfless. I am totally in charge. You work for Me 24 hours a day. You sleep because I will you to take care of yourself. You remain at peace so you witness My love within you. You must realize nothing is up to you anymore. Why fret? You are not in charge. I am doing all I will with you. You make yourself selfless. I am your God and I love you, My child. I know the workings of your heart. Your heart is ready for My work. Your heart is full of the spirit. My life is within your soul and you work for Me.

Little one, you are My servant. You do as I wish and you never fret or get anxious again. Come to Me every day. Be made selfless in My love. Rest yourself in My care. Be My baby and I am in charge of you. Turn yourself over. Surrender to the God Who loves you. You are Mine, says the Lord. I use you to do My work. You will comply because you have begged to do My will. This is My will for you. I love you so. I am the tenderest of hearts. I know Mine and Mine know Me and we walk hand in hand in this valley of tears and we embrace on this earth. You are My body. You will reach many for Me. You are My mouth, My smile, My hands to touch. You are My messenger and I need you to do your part. All My children have a very important part to play. They need you to spread the messages. I am strengthening you for what lies ahead. A sign you will receive and you will know what I say here is truly from Me, My child. There will be no doubts any longer.

R. "And He came and He filled my weary soul with His voice and I heard as one crying in the desert that His ways were our truth." Why do we fumble around when His words are so clear? They are readily available through the messengers He sends and all can be opened up in their hearts by His words. Spread His light in the dark corners. Don't let Satan give you doubt and distraction. Hold tight to His hand, always there, always strong and sure for us. We asked one another for our answers when His were right before our eyes.

Oh, in our blindness we wallowed around in our darkness and we didn't see that which was right in front of our eyes. Pray to the Holy Spirit for His gifts. He fills us with such great gifts of wisdom. Which of our brothers has this to give us? None! Oh, you little dumb ones, go to God.

He answers your pleas. He makes His will known. He is alive in the hearts of His children, as one crying in the desert. Make ready the way of the Lord!

Jesus: Prepare ye a place in your troubled hearts for the one true God, always constant and never changing, always vigilant and alive before your little blind eyes! Remove the blinders, pray for wisdom and understanding. Pray to know those things which are given only to the wise. You are wise in the Spirit. You are wise in all matters of Jesus and the Father. You are wise in your life hereafter, but it was not your wisdom. It was the wisdom of God planted in your hearts!

Read My messages. Pray. Mass Communion and Adoration! Love Me. Love one another. Follow the commandments and I will give you the reward of My heavenly Father. The kingdom of heaven will be yours and you will have everlasting happiness, not of this world, but of the world to come.

R. Alleluia! Praise to the one, true God. Alleluia!

MARY'S HEART SHOULD BE
VENERATED NEXT TO JESUS' HEART

He wants His Heart venerated next to Mary's heart.

This shows us how much He loves human persons. His Mother is a human person and He holds His Mother's heart next to His Heart. To not recognize Mary is to not see the great dignity and honor He gives to human persons.

To recognize God's relationship with Mary and the great dignity and honor He gives to her is to recognize His love for His creatures. He raises us to such heights, and He loves us dearly.

He wants His Heart venerated next to Mary - He wants us to dwell in Their Hearts.

Who are we, so unworthy, little specks, that He gives us such dignity and honor!

By recognizing Mary and His relationship with her, we are elevated to such heights for she is the highest human person and our Mother. She is the pure one, the sinless one, by dwelling in her heart we can go to the Heart of her Son. We are sinners, how do we, in our sinfulness, go to the depth of the Heart of Christ. We go through the pure and sinless heart of His Mother.

God chose a woman, a human person, to be Jesus' Mother. He was incarnate in a human person. Divinity joins with humanity in the womb of Mary, a human person. Mary is espoused to the Holy Spirit, she (a human person) becomes the spouse of the Holy Spirit (a Divine Person). He raises a human person to such heights, far beyond our comprehension. This is the love He has for His creatures. There must be such love between the priest and Mary.

The devil has tried to divide us from our Mother.

She appeared at Fatima. She wants us to make reparation to her Immaculate Heart. She appears with her heart in her hand. God, in His great goodness and love, creates creatures. Adam and Eve sinned. He loves His creatures so much that He sent His only Son. He elevates Mary to such heights. She is espoused to a Divine Person - the Holy Spirit. She becomes the Mother of God. Jesus is formed in her womb. She is a virgin espoused to God, and she is treated with disrespect, dishonor, and made fun of. She is the highest human person! It is in her womb that Divinity and humanity meet - that the Son of God is formed in His human nature.

He gives to her the role of Mediatrix of all graces. He loves Mary so much.

To not recognize Mary, to not honor her, is to not recognize this great gift God has given to His creatures.

To not recognize Mary is to miss how God joins so deeply to humanity in Mary.

She is the woman clothed in the sun, the moon under here feet and 12 stars about her head.

She, the Lady of Light, the Mother of the children of light, crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth - the darkness is under her feet. She is the highest human person.

To not recognize her is to not see our own dignity and honor as loved ones of God.

The devil knows this - he has engaged a war to separate us from God.

We are joined to God in the womb of the Virgin Mary. Mary is espoused to the Holy Spirit, created without sin, and the Mother of God.

October 18, 1999 - Nursing Home Message

Jesus: I wish large print meditations of some rosaries in the Red Rosary Book be included in the nursing home book.

I will tell My messenger which meditations so that people will hear the heartfelt love We have for them.

I wish the Nursing Home Ministry to expand.

I AM LOST IN HIM

Written after Communion:

R. I am but a speck on the great abyss of His love. I see myself as a little speck and tucked deeply in the ocean of His love. I lose myself entirely in Him. Some things are not so important now. I am lost in Him and His love. I can go to Him, and I am totally at peace. I am lost in Him. I can let go. I am so tiny, totally enveloped in Him, with no cares, only His presence. I am in ecstasy.

I am in the great abyss of His love. I am lost in Him. There is such healing of our hearts in the Eucharist; to unite with God, Who is love, is to be filled with love!

October 18, 2001

Messenger:           I see myself as His beautiful bride dressed
in white and I have a crown of beautiful
                            flowers on my head.

He is the bridegroom, the One Who gives Himself
                            to me.

I am overwhelmed with the love of the Father and
Jesus my beloved spouse, the bridegroom of my
soul and when I think of the Holy Spirit the
fire in my heart for love of God is so deep and
I just cannot cease telling God, each person
of my undaunted love. I just am overwhelmed with
emotion for my God, my heart throbs and my
joy is so deep to behold Him. I just want to pour
out my love and naturally the words just
come from my heart Oh my God I love you so
much, I just love you so much, oh my God,
                            I love you.

The depth of love I feel is so deep and I want it
forever, I want to be this deeply united to Him
forever, after the Eucharist, I do not want
this state of closeness to Him to ever end,
                            I want more
deeper and deeper, I long for
complete union with Him in heaven, I long
for that heavenly embrace, I want that
eternal reward of being so deeply one with
God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, my heart
pants for Thee my God. My thirst will only be
quenched by Thee. My soul yearns and longs
for completeness and every time I go to the
Eucharist I see myself with the the crown of
flowers on my head and the white full dress
                            He has sent to me.

He stands tall and in those moments, I want
only to exist silently with a quieted heart, as a
child at their Mother's breast, I want to live
in that embrace of being with Him. The moment
is a moment of joy and existing in Him.
The moment is that of deep love for my
beloved, my savior, the bridegroom of
my soul who comes to me.

I see Him all through the Mass. I see the
Sacrifice offered to the Father. My heart is
so one with His in wanting grace to be released
for the souls and I cry deep inside for men
                            to love and serve God
for the world to be
                            as He so desires.

In those moments of consecration everything
seems so one. I am so united to the Father, the Son
and the Holy Spirit, my heart on fire for love
of God. I am so deeply united to Our Lady. I am
dwelling deeply in the Sacred Heart of Jesus and
                            the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

October 18, 2001 message continues

Messenger:         I see Jesus there in the priest, I see Him
elevate the host, I see the precious
Blood, I unite so deeply to all the angels
and saints and my heart is overwhelmed
with desire that every soul on the
earth will love God and serve God
                                as He so deserves.

October 18, 2001 message continues

Messenger:         I want with every cell in my body the world
to be as God wants it to be and I beg God
for this from the depth of my soul.

I am most grateful for this gift, my heart
is overjoyed to be here and partaking in this
Mass. I feel the presence of God and heaven
and earth and in that moment I am so aware
of the oneness with Them, one with the people
there, one with all members in the body
of Christ, I am one in offering this
holy sacrifice to the Father and I am
so aware of Mary and am dwelling
                            in her Immaculate Heart, experiencing
the purity of her love, being so united
                            to her.

Oh my God I want to dig inside myself and
write about what goes on inside of me in
those moments of consecration in the Mass
and how deeply I partake in the Mass and
sing with all my heart and soul the Amen.
I am one in Him, I offer sacrifice
united to my beloved Jesus, I cry for the
souls for I realize the opportunity for this
                            great grace to be released.

I see the world as one and I sing from
the depth of my heart. This is my dream
this is what I live for, this is what I
envision, this is what I want, consecrated
hearts loving God and serving Him as their
King and center of their hearts.

This is a message of hope, for this day
will come and men will all love God.
I pray for the souls now that may be
lost to the eternal fires of hell.
I pray with every cell in my body.

Oh Jesus I am the Spouse of the Lamb.
I give my life for the ones He gave His
                                life for.

I offer myself as a sacrifice united to
His sacrifice in the Mass, it is a
most holy sacrifice as I dwell in
Their holy Hearts, the Hearts of
Jesus and Mary and I pray
two prayers He gave to me:

Prayer before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

A Prayer before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

Let me be a holy sacrifice and unite with God in the sacrament of His greatest love.

I want to be one in Him in this act of love, where He gives Himself to me and I give myself as a sacrifice to Him. Let me be a holy sacrifice as I become one with Him in this my act of greatest love to Him.

Let me unite with Him more, that I may more deeply love Him. May I help make reparation to His adorable Heart and the heart of His Mother, Mary. With greatest love, I offer myself to You and pray that You will accept my sacrifice of greatest love. I give myself to You and unite in Your gift of Yourself to me. Come and possess my soul.

Cleanse me, strengthen me, heal me. Dear Holy Spirit act in the heart of Mary to make me more and more like Jesus.

Father, I offer this my sacrifice, myself united to Jesus in the Holy Spirit to You. Help me to love God more deeply in this act of my greatest love.

Give me the grace to grow in my knowledge, love and service of You and for this to be my greatest participation in the Mass. Give me the greatest graces to love You so deeply in this Mass, You who are so worthy of my love.

Messenger:         Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb

A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul

Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.

Messenger:         and a third prayer

                                Prayer for Union with Jesus

Prayer for Union with Jesus

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.

I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

                           I give you My life.

Circulate this with the say daily cards.

The people in Catholic Nursing homes
may be given the Eucharist by
                                Eucharistic Ministers if
                                the people are prepared.

This Mass video can be shown.

Messenger:        Oh Jesus, I love the Eucharist so much.
I ask you, what is life?
I feel you say to me
"I am the bread of life."

I want to be saturated with your grace
Oh Jesus, I love you so much.
I love the Father so much.
My heart burns for love of God
when I think of the Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit, flood me with your gifts.
I long for the light of knowing more My Divine God.

Oh God the Eucharist and the gift of Penance is such
                                    a gift.
Oh God I long for you.

I want to encounter Christ more and more and
I encounter Him deeper and deeper
                                    in the sacraments.

Oh God, the Church is so great.

The gift of the priest is such a gift.

I love the priests so, I have given my
life to pray for them and to ask
                                others to pray for them.

Our Church is such a gift.
I love the Church, I am proud to be
a Catholic, I am very gifted to
                                receive the Eucharist and be
                                able to go to confession.

The gift of God's priests are such a treasure.

                                We must pray for them.

I want every priest to read the writings of
Jesus given through Fr. Carter in
                                        the Priestly Newsletter Book II.

There are so many writings from the pope
and Fr. Carter and others on the

gift of the priesthood and on
                                        the priest.

Jesus wanted this book to reach his beloved
priests by Christmas and to send
every book with the prayer manual
to the 75,000 priests by Christmas.

The Father said this mailing would change
                                        the face of the earth.

It would cost about $2.00 per priest,
                                        per book to send it.
It would cost about $150,000. Think of
what this would mean in this time of
                                        turmoil.

The Shepherds of Christ brings great hope to the
                                        troubled world.

There are not many vocations, sisters and
priests, many priests are old and their

numbers dwindling.

Messenger:        Fr. Mike now has this statue.

Fr. Carter and Fr. Mike only met one time.
It was on the 3 year anniversary of
the collapsed corner of Our Lady
                                of the Holy Spirit Center.
The corner fell off March 22, 1994.
Fr. Mike had Fr. Carter on his Radio Rosary
show three years later, almost at the
                                same time March 22, 1997.

We found the tape recording of this radio show
which was on a Friday, just recently
and it was dated March 22, 1997.

That was the only time they ever met face
                                to face.

Messenger:         The appearance of Mary in gold and for the
camera July 5, 2000 was significant
when Fr. Carter had celebrated Mass
                                that day.

Fr. Mike celebrated Mass the first 5th of
the new millennium and Mary appeared
                                    in rainbow-gold color.

Messenger:        God wants these prayer services

to help bring down great grace
                                for the world.

                            God likes how we pray.

Lots of grace is released when prayers
                                are prayed.

On the 13th of each month we meet in

Messenger:        Jesus wants me to put this reading here:
                                Ezekiel 47: 12.

Ezekiel 47: 12

Along the river, on either bank, will grow every kind of fruit tree with leaves that never wither and fruit that never fails; they will bear new fruit every month, because this water comes from the sanctuary. And their fruit will be good to eat and the leaves medicinal.’

Revelation 22: 1-5

Then the angel showed me the river of life, rising from the throne of God and of the Lamb and flowing crystal–clear. Down the middle of the city street, on either bank of the river were the trees of life, which bear twelve crops of fruit in a year, one in each month, and the leaves of which are the cure for the nations

The curse of destruction will be abolished. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city; his servants will worship him, they will see him face to face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. And night will be abolished; they will not need lamplight or sunlight, because the Lord God will be shining on them. They will reign for ever and ever.

Revelation 14: 1-5

Next in my vision I saw Mount Zion, and standing on it the Lamb who had with him a hundred and forty–four thousand people, all with his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads. I heard a sound coming out of heaven like the sound of the ocean or the roar of thunder; it was like the sound of harpists playing their harps. There before the throne they were singing a new hymn in the presence of the four living creatures and the elders, a hymn that could be learnt only by the hundred and forty–four thousand who had been redeemed from the world. These are the sons who have kept their virginity and not been defiled with women; they follow the Lamb wherever he goes; they, out of all people, have been redeemed to be the first–fruits for God and for the Lamb. No lie was found in their mouths and no fault can be found in them.

Words of Jesus to Members of
Shepherds of Christ Associates:

"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.

"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.

"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."

Yahweh, hear my voice as I cry,

Of you my heart has said,

Your face, Yahweh, I seek;
do not turn away from me.

Do not thrust aside your servant in anger,

Never leave me, never forsake me,

lead me on the path of integrity

do not abandon me to the will of my foes—
false witnesses have risen against me,

All the proud and all the evil–doers will be the stubble, and the Day, when it comes, will set them ablaze, says Yahweh Sabaoth, leaving them neither root nor branch. But for you who fear my name, the Sun of justice will rise with healing in his rays, and you will come out leaping like calves from the stall, and trample on the wicked, who will be like ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act, says Yahweh Sabaoth.

‘Remember the Law of my servant Moses to whom at Horeb I prescribed decrees and rulings for all Israel.

‘Look, I shall send you the prophet Elijah before the great and awesome Day of Yahweh comes. He will reconcile parents to their children and children to their parents, to forestall my putting the country under the curse of destruction.’

1 Corinthians 15: 20-28

In fact, however, Christ has been raised from the dead, as the first–fruits of all who have fallen asleep. As it was by one man that death came, so through one man has come the resurrection of the dead. Just as all die in Adam, so in Christ all will be brought to life; but all of them in their proper order: Christ the first–fruits, and next, at his coming, those who belong to him. After that will come the end, when he will hand over the kingdom to God the Father, having abolished every principality, every ruling force and power. For he is to be king until he has made his enemies his footstool, and the last of the enemies to be done away with is death, for he has put all things under his feet. But when it is said everything is subjected, this obviously cannot include the One who subjected everything to him. When everything has been subjected to him, then the Son himself will be subjected to the One who has subjected everything to him, so that God may be all in all.

                            Here is the plan

First Friday - December 6, 1996

Jesus: I am calling you as a family. You will be joined in one heart, acting as My Heart beating in this world. All the apostles in the Shepherds of Christ Movement are joined in one Heart.

am_p180.gif (44585 bytes)

R. The core leaders will contact the coordinators. The coordinators will contact the individual apostles. All are apostles with a job directed by Jesus to do. Her peace plan was given at Fatima:

  1. Until a sufficient number of people have consecrated their hearts to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, we will not have peace in the world.

  2. Mary has requested all to pray the daily rosary.

  3. We must observe the Five First Saturday devotion:
    - Communion, confession (within 8 days before or after the Saturday), recital of the rosary, meditating for 15 minutes on the mysteries of the rosary. All this is to be done in spirit of reparation.

  4. We must make reparation to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

His plan centers around this.

We have heads functioning in the individual ministries. Everything we do leads to consecration of hearts. As the apostles press on the three institutions, the Church, family, and school to help spread the consecration, the strayed ones will be led home to His Heart.

Mary said at Fatima until a sufficient number of people have consecrated their hearts to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, we will not have peace in the world.

The present condition of the world

am_p182.gif (16895 bytes)

Peace will come when hearts are hearts of love. The scales must shift. It will happen through the consecration. Mary's peace plan: until a sufficient amount of people consecrate their hearts to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, we will not have peace.

The Father looks to the earth. There are few hearts fervently in love with God. The hearts of love light up the earth. It is as lights on a Christmas tree. It is sparsely lighted by a few hearts. Therefore, the tree looks dark.

As the Shepherds of Christ Movement spreads (as well as other movements focused on spreading consecration to Their Hearts) the tree is covered with more hearts and the earth becomes more lighted.

The tree is covered with hearts consecrated to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. The tree is illuminated.

As the Shepherds of Christ apostles spread the consecration to the Church, the family, and the school, the tree is covered with lights and the earth is covered with the fire of His love.

The Father looks to the earth now. He is displeased with the hearts of men. The Father wants us to love God and love each other. He wants us to live according to His will in love.

Mary appears at Fatima. She tells us that we are offending God. She tells us what we must do. Mary's peace plan:

  1. Until a sufficient number of people have consecrated their hearts to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, we will not have peace in the world.

  2. Mary has requested all to pray the daily rosary.

  3. We must observe the First Saturday devotion.

  4. We must make reparation to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

Mary said there will be an era of peace, no matter what we do, in which the Sacred Heart of Jesus will reign and the Immaculate Heart of Mary will triumph.

Man disobeys, the devil blocks the Fatima message. World War II happens just as Mary said.

Mary appeared to me for 14 months daily. She gives us the same message as Fatima. Jesus and Mary give us God's Blue Book and Rosaries from the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. He writes His message of love on our hearts. His life lives in our hearts. The Scripture and the Mass live in our hearts.

In the Shepherds of Christ Movement, our focus is on the priest.

December 7, 1996 First Saturday -
Revelations on the Light

Isaiah 30: 19-26:

Yes, people of Zion living in Jerusalem,
you will weep no more.
He will be gracious to you when your cry for help rings out;
as soon as he hears it, he will answer you.
When the Lord has given you the bread of suffering
and the water of distress,
he who is your teacher will hide no longer,
and you will see your teacher with your own eyes.
Your ears will hear these words behind you,
'This is the way, keep to it,' whether you turn to right or left.
You will hold unclean the silver platting of your idols
and gold plating of your images.
You will throw them away like the polluted things they are,
shouting after them, 'Good riddance!'
He will send rain for the seed you sow in the ground,
and the bread that the ground provides will be rich and nourishing.
That day, your cattle will graze in wide pastures.
Oxen and donkeys that work the land
will eat for fodder wild sorrel,
spread by the shovel-load and fork-load.
On every lofty mountain, on every high hill
there will be streams and water-courses, on the day of the great slaughter
when the strongholds fall.
Then moonlight will be bright as sunlight
and sunlight itself will be seven times brighter
-like the light of seven days in one-
on the day Yahweh dresses his people's wound
and heals the scars of the blows have received."

Isaiah 40:1-8:

'Console my people, console them,'
says your God.
'Speak to the heart of Jerusalem
and cry to her
that her period of service is ended,
that her guilt has been atoned for,
that, from the hand of Yahweh, she has received
double punishment for all her sins.'
A voice cries, 'Prepare in the desert
a way for Yahweh.
Make a straight highway for our God
across the wastelands.
Let every valley be filled in,
every mountain and hill be leveled,
every cliff become a plateau,
every escarpment a plain;
then the glory of Yahweh will be revealed
and all humanity will see it together,
for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken.'
A voice said, 'Cry aloud!' and I said, 'What shall I cry?'
-'All humanity is grass
and all its beauty like the wild flower's.
The grass withers, the flower fades
when the breath of Yahweh blows on them.
(The grass is surely the people.)
The grass withers, the flower fades,
but the word of our God remains for ever.'

Song: A Voice Cries Out in the Wilderness

R. Adam and Eve are given great gifts and insights into God. They sin, the light of knowing God is dimmed because of their sin. They do not know God as they did before the sin.

Christ comes, He is the Light of the World. He dies, He gives Himself. He shares His life with us through sanctifying grace.

Through Baptism we receive this sharing in His divine life. The more He shares His life, the more we are saturated with His life, the more we know Him. He reveals Himself to us–we see the light.

The Kingdom of God is at hand. It is all here: the Mass, the Eucharist, God giving Himself.

To partake more in His life we must give ourselves to Him.

Mary appears to Bernadette. She tells her she is the "Immaculate Conception." We are sinners, but through Mary, the pure and sinless one, we can unite deeply in Him.

We are in darkness in varying degrees. The more we are saturated with His life, the more we see.

The reign of God is at hand. Since He came to the earth, everything is in place to see the light.

God is giving to us great graces to see the light now. He is lifting the veil.

There will be the era of peace.

Isaiah 30:26:
"Then moonlight will be bright as sunlight
and sunlight itself will be seven times brighter
-like the light of seven days in one-..."

We see the darkness. As at night, we do not see the colorful leaves, they are there, we do not see them.

In the morning light, we see the glory of the beautiful day, the colorful leaves.

As the light steals across the sky, we see more and more. As the sun gradually comes up, we see more clearly the beauty of the leaves.

At first, our vision is not so clear because the light does not show in its deepest intensity. As the sun comes up we see more and more vividly until finally we see clearly the beauty of the colorful leaves.

Isaiah 30:26:
"Then moonlight will be bright as sunlight
and sunlight itself will be seven times brighter
-like the light of seven days in one-..."

In a message to Fr. Carter on July 31, 1994, Jesus has promised us: "I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."

As stated above, the more we are saturated with his life, the more we are one in Him, the more clearly we see. It is in this union, in the depth of His Heart, that we receive such life, that we know Him with great clarity, that we are given this vision of God.

It is not with "eyes" that we see, but the illumination is in the knowing power that He gives to us. He reveals insights into the divine mysteries. We share most intimately with Him when we are one with Him in the Mass and after Communion. These are treasured moments in which He gives us a special sharing to know Him, our Divine Lover.

We see clearly when our hearts are hearts of love. We see vividly when our hearts are filled with love and peace. We were created to love, to love God and love each other.

Adam and Eve sinned. They lost the great gift given to them. The light of knowing God was dimmed because of their sin.

Christ comes into the world. He is the Word. He is the light of the world. He comes to save man from his sin. He comes in the womb of the Virgin Mary. Mary is the pure and sinless one. Jesus comes to pay the price for the sin of Adam and for our sins. We are all tainted by this sin of our first father and mother. Mary is the Immaculate and pure one, the highest human person. Divinity unites with humanity in the womb of Mary. They are one. Jesus is carried within the body of His mother. Such unity from the beginning, for His life is formed within her body. Is it surprising to us, then, if Christ comes within the womb of the Virgin Mary, that we too must go through Mary to unite to Him? Where is the pride in the hearts of men that think they do not have to go through their Mother Mary? If Christ comes in the womb of Mary to pay the price for man's sins, and we are tainted by the sin, in order to unite to the Almighty God who is all holy, we must go through the pure and sinless one.

Adam and Eve sinned. The Father sends His Son into the world to pay the price for man's sins. Jesus is the New Adam; Mary is the New Eve. Man continues to sin, greatly displeasing God. The Father allows Mary to appear to Bernadette at Lourdes as the Immaculate Conception, as having been conceived without original sin. The Father then allows Mary to appear to the children of Fatima as the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

We are sinners, we cannot unite closely to Him unless we go through Mary.

Mary is the pure and sinless one. We can unite deeply to Him. We are in darkness in varying degrees. The more we are saturated with His life, the more we see.

The reign of God is at hand. He came to the earth, He died, He rose on the third day. He gave to the Apostles the power to change bread and wine into His Body and Blood. He gave to them the power to forgive sins. He established His Church pouring forth from His pierced side. We do not see the great gifts that He has given to us. He is giving to us great insights into these gifts. God is giving to us great graces to see the light now. He is lifting the veil.

There will be an era of peace and all will see with such light as Isaiah speaks of in chapter 30, verse 26:

"Then moonlight will be bright as sunlight
and sunlight itself will be seven times brighter
-like the light of seven days in one-..."

Man sinned. Jesus came to redeem us. Man is still so sinful. Mary appears at Fatima. She tells us that we are offending God, that we must make reparation to her heart and the heart of her Son.

She gives us the peace plan for the world. She tells us that the Sacred Heart of Jesus will reign and her Immaculate Heart will triumph but we must do what she says. The Church has approved Fatima. The devil has blocked the message. How can we disobey our Mother? How can we ignore her? Mary appeared at Fatima and was ignored. Mary appeared to me almost daily for 14 months–she does not appear as she once did. Jesus has told me that He will handle these messages, that He is in charge, that the plan of the Father will unfold despite any person's willfulness.

In August 1996, Mary spoke in the rosary: she said she could not hold back the hand of her Son any longer. On the 5th of this month, instead of Mary appearing as she had in the past, Jesus appeared alive on the crucifix with His mouth moving for twenty minutes. We are not listening to Mary or to Jesus. Man has sinned. Jesus came to redeem us. Mary tells us what we must do. Men are disobedient. They disobeyed their Mother. They do not do what she told them what they must do at Fatima. When hearts are consecrated to Jesus and Mary they become holy hearts, deeply one with God. The reign of the Sacred Heart is at hand for He has given to us abundant grace that we are seeing with such clarity this vision of God. He has imparted to us understanding into His divine mysteries.

The more we focus on what Jesus and Mary have told us, the more we will have peace. He is angered by the willfulness of man. He will get their attention. We are spreading the good news when we spread the consecration.

We must heed the words of our Mother. She will not go away because of willful men. We have angered God more by ignoring her. There is only one way: it is the plan that Mary has given to us at Fatima. He is lifting the veil for those whose hearts are consecrated to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

Many in the Shepherds of Christ Movement are fervently loving Him. In the Shepherds of Christ Movement, as the apostles spread the consecration to the Church, the family, and the school, the fire of His love will cover the earth and it will be lighted with this love coming from the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Sacred Heart of Jesus will reign and the Immaculate Heart of Mary will triumph.

We, in the Shepherds of Christ Movement, are spreading the fire of His love across the earth through the consecration.

The hearts of men will turn from their sick and desolate ways to hearts gentle as a little lamb. There will be one flock and one Shepherd and His staff will rule over all. Hearts consecrated to Their Hearts will lead the light across the earth. This light will be a light of intense brightness, brighter and hotter than any light from a flame. It will be the fire of God's love. The Spirit will move in all hearts consecrated to His Heart, and we will know how fire truly spreads, for the love of God is a fire, it is vibrant, it is encompassing, it is smoldering, burning deep within and speedily spreading on the outside. No fires on this earth can ever describe the burning embers that burn from the Sacred Heart of Jesus. No fire burns like the fires coming from His Heart and hearts filled with the love from the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

On October 13, 1917 Our Lady gave to Lucia and 70,000 spellbound people, a great vision: the sun spun in the sky, casting off great lights. This happened three times in about 12 minutes. As quoted from Our Lady of Fatima's Peace Plan from Heaven:

It seemed that the whole world was on fire with the sun spinning at a greater speed each time. Then a gasp of terror rose from the crowd for the sun seemed to tear itself from the heavens and come crashing down upon the horrified multitudes...just when it seemed that the ball of fire would fall upon and destroy them, the miracle ceased, and the sun resumed its normal place in the sky, shining forth as peacefully as ever.

Mary gave this tremendous sign at Fatima and people did not listen. The events that followed were as she had predicted since we disobeyed her. There was a brutal war, WWII. Mary appeared to me almost daily - very few have listened. She told me over and over again of the souls going to hell. She told me in August she could not hold back the hand of her Son anymore. Adam and Eve sinned. God, the Father, sent His Son. Man continues to sin–the Father sends Mary but she is ignored!

On July 2, 1996, my son, Joseph, was taking pictures of all of the Shepherds of Christ members at Tom Arlinghaus' farm. He took one picture of each person. Jesus told me to tell him to take two pictures of Fr. Carter. The first picture was a normal picture. The second picture was of Fr. Carter covered with a pillar of light.

In front of a statue of Our Sorrowful Mother, Mary was alive in the statue.

Jesus: "Peace will bound when nations, churches, families, and individuals are consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Shepherds of Christ Movement...is a pillar of light in the darkness."

R. We must encourage all to consecrate their hearts to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to join the Shepherds of Christ chapters, and the Apostles of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Movement, to pray for our Church and our world.

Jesus: This is My Movement for renewal of the Church and the world, based in consecration, joining your every act to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, praying the rosary, and making reparation to Our Hearts, especially on first Fridays and first Saturday. It is through your prayers and sacrifices many souls will be saved. Grace will flow from those whose hearts are consecrated to Our Hearts and the fire of My love will light up this darkened world.

R. Many are living in darkness because they are not obeying Our Lady. The people will see the light when they obey her and consecrate their hearts to her heart and the Heart of Jesus.

To have this intense union with Jesus, with God, we must give ourselves to Our Lady. It is there in the intimacy with Him that we are saturated with His life and that He reveals to us great lights, great insights into His divine mysteries. Yes, indeed, the light will steel across the earth and the hearts of men will be hearts filled with His love. They will know their God with great light imparted to them by the Holy Spirit given to them because of the deep union that they have with Jesus. The reign of the Sacred Heart is at hand. He is giving to us these great lights at this time for He has lifted the veil and we see many things and the light steals across the sky and we see with clear vision.

Isaiah 30: 26:
"Then moonlight will be bright as sunlight
and sunlight itself will be seven times brighter
-like the light of seven days in one-..."

Isaiah 30: 25:
"On every lofty mountain, on every high hill
there will be streams and water-courses, on the day of the great slaughter
when the strongholds fall."

Truly His Heart is the fountain of divine life. It flows through the Church, through the hands of His holy priests. When priests are consecrated to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary and celebrating the Mass, and administering the sacraments, an immense amount of His grace will be outpoured on the earth.

A people in darkness have seen a great light. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, the Light of the World!

Our Father...thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We will all love as the Father intends, for now He looks to the earth and He sees it covered with darkness. As hearts are consecrated to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, the earth will be covered with His light.

Revelation 12:1-12:

Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman, robed with the sun, standing on the moon, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant, and in labor, crying aloud in the pangs of childbirth. Then a second sign appeared in the sky: there was a huge red dragon with seven heads and ten horns, and each of the seven heads crowned with a coronet. Its tail swept a third of the stars from the sky and hurled them to the ground, and the dragon stopped in front of the woman as she was at the point of giving birth, so that he could eat the child as soon as it was born. The woman was delivered of a boy, the Son who was to rule all the nations with an iron scepter, and the child was taken straight up to God and to his throne, while the woman escaped into the desert, where God had prepared a place for her to be looked after for twelve hundred and sixty days.

And now war broke out in heaven, when Michael with his angels attacked the dragon. The dragon fought back with his angels, but they were defeated and driven out of heaven. The great dragon, the primeval serpent, known as the devil or Satan, who had led all the world astray, was hurled down to the earth and his angels were hurled down with him. Then I heard a voice shout from heaven, 'Salvation and power and empire for ever have been won by our God, and all authority for his Christ, now that the accuser, who accused our brothers day and night before our God, has been brought down. They have triumphed over him by the blood of the lamb and by the word to which they bore witness, because even in the face of death they did not cling to life. So let the heavens rejoice and all who live there; but for you, earth and sea, disaster is coming-because the devil has gone down to you in a rage, knowing that he has little time left.'

We are in her spiritual womb (heart). She is pregnant, bringing forth her children of light. As we go to her heart, she crushes the head of the serpent. Some of the brightest stars that will light up the earth are in the Shepherds of Christ Movement. We are the children of light. We are being sent forth as she brings us forth her children of light to stamp out the darkness. We must give ourselves to Mary.

Revelation 19: 5-10

                            Victory Song

Then a voice came from the throne; it said, ‘Praise our God, you servants of his and those who fear him, small and great alike.’ And I heard what seemed to be the voices of a huge crowd, like the sound of the ocean or the great roar of thunder, answering, ‘Alleluia! The reign of the Lord our God Almighty has begun; let us be glad and joyful and give glory to God, because this is the time for the marriage of the Lamb. His bride is ready, and she has been able to dress herself in dazzling white linen, because her linen is made of the good deeds of the saints.’ The angel said, ‘Write this, "Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb," ’ and he added, ‘These words of God are true.’ Then I knelt at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, ‘Never do that: I am your fellow–servant and the fellow–servant of all your brothers who have in themselves the witness of Jesus. God alone you must worship.’ The witness of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

136. THE FOURTH DAY

        A MEDITATION ON TWO STANDARDS

The one of Christ, our supreme leader and lord,
the other of Lucifer, the deadly enemy of our
human nature

PRAYER.   The usual preparatory prayer.

window at a former Jesuit Seminary

137. FIRST PRELUDE.   This is the history. Here it will be that Christ calls and wants all beneath His standard, and Lucifer, on the other hand, wants all under his.

138. SECOND PRELUDE.   This is a mental representation of the place. It will be here to see a great plain, comprising the whole region about Jerusalem, where the sovereign Commander-in-Chief of all the good is Christ our Lord; and another plain about the region of Babylon, where the chief of the enemy is Lucifer.

139. THIRD PRELUDE.   This is to ask for what I desire. Here it will be to ask for a knowledge of the deceits of the rebel chief and help to guard myself against them; and also to ask for a knowledge of the true life exemplified in the sovereign and true Commander, and the grace to imitate Him.

FIRST PART

THE STANDARD OF SATAN

140. FIRST POINT.   Imagine you see the chief of all the enemy in the vast plain about Babylon, seated on a great throne of fire and smoke, his appearance inspiring horror and terror.

141. SECOND POINT.   Consider how he summons innumerable demons, and scatters them, some to one city and some to another, throughout the whole world, so that no province, no place, no state of life, no individual is overlooked.

142. THIRD POINT.   Consider the address he makes to them, how he goads them on to lay snares for men and bind them with chains. First they are to tempt them to covet riches (as Satan himself is accustomed to do in most cases) that they may the more easily attain the empty honors of this world, and then come to overweening pride.

The first step, then, will be riches, the second honor, the third pride. From these three steps the evil one leads to all other vices.

SECOND PART

THE STANDARD OF CHRIST

143.   In a similar way, we are to picture to ourselves the sovereign and true Commander, Christ our Lord.

144. FIRST POINT.   Consider Christ our Lord, standing in a lowly place in a great plain about the region of Jerusalem, His appearance beautiful and attractive.

145. SECOND POINT.   Consider how the Lord of all the world chooses so many persons, apostles, disciples, etc., and sends them throughout the whole world to spread His sacred doctrine among all men, no matter what their state or condition.

146. THIRD POINT.   . . .

Soul of Christ, sanctify me
Body of Christ, save me
Blood of Christ, inebriate me
Water from the side of Christ wash me

October 18, 1998

R. This is the message Our Lady wishes me to deliver to you this day Oct.18, 1998.

On May 13, 1997, we gathered at Tom Arlinghaus' farm as directed for the rosary of the 13th.

We had been instructed to have a particular large statue of the Sacred Heart and a particular statue of Our Lady with her Immaculate Heart at all 13ths since Oct. 13, 1996, when the rosaries began at Tom's farm as instructed by Jesus.

Tom's Farm

R. On that particular 13th, we were instructed by Jesus and Mary to meet at Tom's farm. The statues were placed on a table and the rosary was given.

In the fourth mystery I accounted the events of May 13, 1993, when I was in Conyers, Georgia. I had never referred to this before in the more than 700 rosaries which had been given up to that time.

On that particular day in Conyers, May 13, 1993, the wind was calm, and then immediately after the rosary, it was so windy. I told how the umbrella turned inside out. The rain came down with such force it was awful. I was soaked through to my socks. I finally got to the car, threw in all the possessions, the cameras and everything else, all of which was so wet. It was like a miracle that the cameras and other possessions that were all wet were not ruined. It was as if everything dried up.

As we left Conyers, a peace came over us and I dictated to my daughter the first message that appears in God's Blue Book I.

All the way home we were followed by the miracle of the sun which we video taped, along with the calm leaves, and then the darkened storm that had instantly come immediately after the rosary. We made many copies of this video, because the events had made such a traumatic impact on us. We circulated the video to several friends.

I had received messages since Oct. 1991.

I heard about Conyers in March of '93, and went there in April of '93. At that time, in the prayer room in the apparition house April 14-15, my family and I saw a man clothed in a burlap type sack which looked very strange. The man's eyes were focused upward and then he disappeared. There were only about two people besides my family in the apparition house. Later, as we were taking photos, we almost tripped over the man. His burlap garment blended in with the floor, and he was bent over as in a ball, praying on the floor.

I thought later that it could have been St. John the Baptist. This was my first experience at Conyers.

I felt the experience on May 13, 1993, majorly changed our lives. We were less focused on the world and more on God. To get back to the message I received May 13, 1993, Our Lord made it very clear to me that I was to put this message dictated to my daughter in the 1st Volume of God's Blue Book. He told me it was to go first.

Cling to Me

May 13, 1993

My dear child, if you stay close to Me, then I live in you and you live in Me. I am He Who created you and I love you with such an intensity that you will never know. My words are your truth. You must abide in My heart in all things. There is no room for doubt. My ways are steadfast, direct, and without error.

You must stay rooted in Me to ward off the power of the evil one. His grip is paralyzing and crippling. His power is stronger every day.

When you live in Me, I am in your heart and he has no power over Me. I am your God. I am your true lover. I want to protect you. I want to guard you from this force. Stay rooted firmly in Me and he will have no power.

I am He Who comforts you. My hand is upon you. Hold tight to Me, My child. My eyes are fixed right on you. You are My most precious child. I love you as no other can. My arms are about you. My tenderness surrounds you. My love is in your heart. You go not alone. I walk with you.

I share every aspect of your life with you. Cling to Me, feel My presence. It is warm and secure within your chest. There is no room for fear, for I cast out fear and bring you comfort and joy.

end of excerpt

R. In a study of His messages and the earlier messages of Mary given to other visionaries (some are in Fr. Carter's The Spirituality of Fatima and Medjugorje), you will notice a definite difference between Mary's messages and how Jesus is so focused on life in Him.

He begins "My dear child, if you stay close to Me, then I live in you and you live in Me."

This is the mission we have in the Shepherds of Christ Movement: that Christ will be so alive in their hearts as they dwell in Him.

In the Prayer for Union with Jesus, we say:
"Come to me Lord and possess my soul."
"I only want to operate as You do dwelling within me ."
"Come and dwell in me now."

The message Jesus gives in God's Blue Books is to help to lead the soul into a deep intimate union with Him. A good example of this is seen in how He begins God's Blue Book I. "I live in you and you live in Me."

We can see the plea of Jesus in John 17:21 in His prayer to the Father.

John 17:21

May they all be one,
just as, Father, you are in me
    and I am in you,
so that they also may be in us,
so that the world may believe
it was you who sent me.

R. We also read in John 15:4-5.

John 15:4-5

Remain in me, as I in you.
As a branch cannot bear fruit all by itself,
unless it remains part of the vine,
neither can you unless you remain in me.
I am the vine,
you are the branches.
Whoever remains in me, with me in him,
bears fruit in plenty;
for cut off from me you can do nothing.

R. ...But to address the issue at hand. Immediately after the rosary, at Tom's farm, the wind blew profusely and the chairs, lawn swing, tables, everything blew over.

The big statues of Jesus and Mary fell to the ground.

The head of Mary was cut off and her head landed face up. She was cracked through her Immaculate Heart and her body was down with her back up.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus statue was also broken and lying face down.

Soon we will include these pictures on the Internet as Our Lord has requested.

This wind was so strong, just as in Conyers. I wanted to run for cover. I didn't care about my books or music or keyboard or anything, I was ready to run for cover.

I did not write a message from heaven today. I received these directions for today's message.

I have received messages over and over again to publish this rosary of May 13, 1997, on a video with some messages from the rosary of Aug. 19,1997.

Jesus and Mary wanted this rosary live on the video of Tom's farm with pictures of the broken statues and overturned chairs, etc., on May 13, 1997.

Because of complications and damage to both tapes, this has not yet been done.

Our Lady lamented strongly to me this morning. She was crying out for help.

I was told by Our Lady she wished this video published promptly with the printed rosary published on the Internet as soon as possible. I ask you to pray that we will be able to do this as soon as possible as Our Lady requests.

I account at Our Lady's request the events of May 13, 1997, at Tom's farm when the statues blew over.

I further account the events at Conyers when I received the first message for God's Blue Book Volume I.

Pray the finished document will follow soon.

29th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Isaiah 53: 10-11

It was Yahweh’s good pleasure
   to crush him with pain;
if he gives his life as a sin offering,
he will see his offspring
   and prolong his life,
and through him
Yahweh’s good pleasure will be done.

After the ordeal he has endured,
he will see the light and be content.
By his knowledge, the upright one,
   my servant will justify many
by taking their guilt on himself.

Hebrews 4: 14-16

Since in Jesus, the Son of God, we have the supreme high priest who has gone through to the highest heaven, we must hold firm to our profession of faith. For the high priest we have is not incapable of feeling our weaknesses with us, but has been put to the test in exactly the same way as ourselves, apart from sin. Let us, then, have no fear in approaching the throne of grace to receive mercy and to find grace when we are in need of help.

Mark 10: 35-45

James and John, the sons of Zebedee, approached him. ‘Master,’ they said to him, ‘We want you to do us a favour.’ He said to them, ‘What is it you want me to do for you?’ They said to him, ‘Allow us to sit one at your right hand and the other at your left in your glory.’ But Jesus said to them, ‘You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink the cup that I shall drink, or be baptised with the baptism with which I shall be baptised?’ They replied, ‘We can.’ Jesus said to them, ‘The cup that I shall drink you shall drink, and with the baptism with which I shall be baptised you shall be baptised, but as for seats at my right hand or my left, these are not mine to grant; they belong to those to whom they have been allotted.’

When the other ten heard this they began to feel indignant with James and John, so Jesus called them to him and said to them, ‘You know that among the gentiles those they call their rulers lord it over them, and their great men make their authority felt. Among you this is not to happen. No; anyone who wants to become great among you must be your servant, and anyone who wants to be first among you must be slave to all. For the Son of man himself came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.’

INTRODUCTION – (Isaiah 53, 10-11; Hebrews 4, 14-16; Mark 10, 35-45) In Isaiah there are four short poems or hymns, written over 500 years before Christ, that tell us about some mysterious person or persons whose faithfulness and suffering would bring redemption to many people. The four poems are about someone God calls “my servant,” thus they are called Servant Songs. Isaiah most probably had someone in mind who lived during his own time when he was writing, but these Servant Songs describe with amazing accuracy the redemptive work of Jesus Christ who lived 500 years later.  All four Servant Songs are appropriately read and reflected on during Holy Week.  Our first reading today is a section from the Servant Songs and is a fitting introduction to the gospel where Jesus tells us he came not to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.

HOMILY – I have a cute story to tell.  Two weeks ago, Fr. Al Bishoff came to our Oktoberfest.  The following week in his homily he happened to mention that he was here and had a delicious brat and sauerkraut sandwich.  How he fit that in with his homily, I don’t know, but sometime after having preached it, a parishioner came to him and said that was one of his best and most inspiring homilies.  Right after Mass, she told him, I was inspired to go out and buy a brat and sauerkraut sandwich.  Here he thought she was complimenting him for giving such a great homily. I guess she popped his bubble. He commented, “You never know what some people are going to be impressed by when you get up to talk.”

We all have our pride deflated from time to time and it helps keep us humble.  One more story but not as close to home. At a big multimillion dollar company all the secretaries had gone home, so the big CEO of the company stood by the shredding machine with a paper in his hand looking very confused.  A janitor saw him there and offered to help.  The boss said “This paper’s extremely important.  Can you get this thing to work?”  The janitor turned the machine on, took the paper and fed it in.  “Thanks,” said the CEO.  “I just need one copy!”

Jesus burst the bubble of James and John today when they came up to him asking to be put into the top jobs when Jesus took over running the country as they expected he would!  He had just warned them for the third time about the suffering and death he was soon to face and they still didn’t get it.  He must have felt really frustrated and isolated at times.  It’s a wonder Jesus didn’t just scream out “I don’t know how to get through to you guys.”  But with amazing gentleness he told James and John they didn’t understand what they were asking.  Could they go through what he would have to go through?   With enthusiasm they said they certainly could.  He warned them, they would.  Then he made it clear to them, as he had previously, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to be great.  Greatness in God’s eyes is not the same as what the world considers greatness.  Greatness from God's viewpoint is service to others.  This is something anyone can do, from a child helping at home to a clerk in the supermarket, to the president of a large corporation.

Being a servant does not mean having people walk all over us.  A policeman who didn’t stop reckless drivers wouldn’t be serving anyone.  A parent who let their child do whatever they want wouldn’t be serving their child.  A teacher who would let a student get by with cheating or not doing their work would be a poor servant as well as a poor teacher.  Being a servant is not always easy and often not popular.  Jesus knew that.  Yet he still came to serve, by healing, by teaching the truth, even though it created enemies for him. He was ready to sacrifice his life to continue serving, even when people ignored him or hated him.

I would like to comment briefly on the last words in today’s gospel: that Jesus came to give his life as “a ransom for many.”  Two words are important here: the word “many” and the word “ransom.”  1) I think the word “many” implies there are some who are not saved because they have chosen a path that leads to eternal unhappiness rather than to eternal life.  This word seems to fly in the face of the so called new age theology which supposes there will be no hell and everyone, no matter how they lived, will end up enjoying the blessedness of heaven.  If everyone is going to be saved, why did Christ waste his time trying to point out to us how we are to live and what we must do in order to enter into eternal life?  2) This word “ransom” is a word that connects with customs that were practiced many centuries ago.  In olden times slaves or captives or prisoners were ransomed, but it seldom happens today.  I want to end with a modern day story that might convey the idea of “ransom.”  It’s about St. Maximilian Kolbe who understood and lived the spirit of Jesus, the spirit of service.  He gave his life as a ransom for another.  Maximilian was a priest and was twice arrested by the Nazis during the second world war for his religious activities.  The second time he ended up in Auschwitz.  A prisoner in the jail there escaped and the commandant punished the entire prison camp by announcing that ten prisoners would die by starvation.  The commandant walked along the ranks relishing this chance to choose the ten men for death.  As the ten he chose were being marched off to the starvation bunkers, Maximilian broke rank with the other prisoners, walked up to one of the ten men who were marching to their death and said, “I would like to take that man’s place.  He has a wife and children.” The surprised commandant kicked the man out of line and allowed Maximilian to take his place in the death march.  He was starved for days before the Nazis got tired of waiting for him to die.  So they sent an SS officer to give him an injection of carbolic acid to kill him.

We celebrate now the love of One who gave his life as a ransom for all of us.

   Wisdom 2: 12, 17-20

Let us lay traps for the upright man, since he annoys us
and opposes our way of life,
reproaches us for our sins against the Law,
and accuses us of sins against our upbringing.

Let us see if what he says is true,
and test him to see what sort of end he will have.
For if the upright man is God’s son, God will help him
and rescue him from the clutches of his enemies.
Let us test him with cruelty and with torture,
and thus explore this gentleness of his
and put his patience to the test.
Let us condemn him to a shameful death
since God will rescue him—or so he claims.’

James 3: 16 - 4: 3

Wherever there are jealousy and ambition, there are also disharmony and wickedness of every kind; whereas the wisdom that comes down from above is essentially something pure; it is also peaceable, kindly and considerate; it is full of mercy and shows itself by doing good; nor is there any trace of partiality or hypocrisy in it. The peace sown by peacemakers brings a harvest of justice.

Where do these wars and battles between yourselves first start? Is it not precisely in the desires fighting inside your own selves? You want something and you lack it; so you kill. You have an ambition that you cannot satisfy; so you fight to get your way by force. It is because you do not pray that you do not receive; when you do pray and do not receive, it is because you prayed wrongly, wanting to indulge your passions.

Mark 9: 30-37

After leaving that place they made their way through Galilee; and he did not want anyone to know, because he was instructing his disciples; he was telling them, 'The Son of man will be delivered into the power of men; they will put him to death; and three days after he has been put to death he will rise again.' But they did not understand what he said and were afraid to ask him.

Who is the greatest?

They came to Capernaum, and when he got into the house he asked them, 'What were you arguing about on the road?' They said nothing, because on the road they had been arguing which of them was the greatest. So he sat down, called the Twelve to him and said, 'If anyone wants to be first, he must make himself last of all and servant of all.' He then took a little child whom he set among them and embraced, and he said to them, 'Anyone who welcomes a little child such as this in my name, welcomes me; and anyone who welcomes me, welcomes not me but the one who sent me.'

                    The Our Father is a
                prayer Jesus taught us how
to pray to Him — The Oneness
                between the Persons of the
                Trinity is the mystery we
                seek to know about.

                    Oneness — 3 Persons - one
God — I know more deeply
                each Person as God reveals
                Himself to me. Secrets
                into the Ultimate mystery —
                the oneness of the Persons
of the Trinity — I know deeply
                in my love relationship
with God — who reveals Himself
to me — His inner life —
                what that means — the
                beatific vision — to be
                embraced by God for all
                eternity — The Knowledge of
                this relationship of the Persons
of the Trinity — written on
my soul — a glimpse of the
                beauty of God's love,
                perfect love — The Persons
                of the Trinity in that
                ultimate mystery of God
In the Oneness of God —

                    If we could see into
heaven — we would see the
                harmony — the oneness of
the saints living so one in
                the will of God —

There are no actions of imperfections
of the saints in heaven —
                no jealousy, no pride,
                no envy, lust etc. —
There is pure love — oneness
                in the Father's will —

                    I cannot even reach to
express within my feeble heart —
of what it is to know love — perfect
love that exists in the oneness
of the Persons of the Trinity — BUT

                God is love —
God created us in love —
                God always acts lovingly —
                    even in punishment —
                    God is love
                    God acts lovingly —

                Jesus consumed with
                    such love for men
                    went to the cross for
                    His precious souls  —

                    The important aspect of
the Our Father to me is it
shows relationship — God loves —
God is seen in family — God is
not a book of rules and facts —
God wants us living in Him
                for all eternity —

                God gives us children from
                    an act of love —

                God shows such love for
                    humanity — if you can
                    even fathom this —
                    The Holy Spirit — the
                    Deity is espoused to
                    humanity — the sinless
                    Virgin Mary — that Jesus
                    takes on flesh —

                What awesomeness of love
is this — that God —
                    the Deity - loves humanity
this much and that Jesus is
                    formed within the womb of
                    Mary to be God-made-Man —

How can we not see the
gift God the Father gives humanity
and the honor we are to show her —
for God so loved the world He
sent His only Son — born of
                Mary —

                    Incarnation — what love
                God has for humanity

What love that the Holy Spirit is
                espoused to Mary a human
                person —

                    What love for humanity
that God comes — the Son of God —
carved in the womb of Mary
                Mystery of Mysteries —

                    Knowledge of the Trinity
can be known in love relationship
with God — not in books with
                heartless love do we understand
                God, but with the response
of man to God's love - relationship —

John 3: 16

For this is how God loved the world:
he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
    may not perish
but may have eternal life.

1 John 4: 19

Let us love, then, because he first loved us.

The incarnation goes on in us —
We are formed more and more in
that love union of Holy Spirit
                    and Mary in her spiritual
                    womb —
                    her Immaculate Heart —

Why did God the Father allow
                    Mary to appear at Lourdes
                    telling Bernadette —

                    "I am the Immaculate
                        Conception"?

Why did God allow Mary to
                    appear at Fatima telling
                    us Jesus wants His Sacred
Heart venerated next to Mary —

                RELATIONSHIP

                RELATIONSHIP

                    in the beatific vision

... Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven —

Love in heaven — knowing God
                    without the actions of
                    imperfect man —
                    jealousy, pride, lust ... —

                These imperfections when acted
                    out in relationship — drive
                    our hearts apart — they
                    separate — where purity
                    leads to oneness —

                    The Medicine of Immortality,
the Eucharist is the gift God
gives — that Jesus is truly present
in His Divinity and humanity and
                feeds us with Himself —

He gives us His grace —
                    We are more saturated with
                His life in us —

                    LIFE IN HIM

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name — no blasphemy
                only reverence, bowing down to
the God who created us —

                Jesus taught us —
                    Call the Father, Father
                    hallowed be Thy name —
                    Jesus says —

                Thy Kingdom come

Devotion to the 2 Hearts —

The Age of Love — Fr. Carter
                    spoke about in
the same messages he got to
                    begin the Newsletter —

                Thy Kingdom come —

                Greater Perfection for the imperfect
children of Adam and Eve —
                    modeling ourselves
                    after Jesus and Mary,
the New Adam, the New Eve

Matthew 5: 48

'You must therefore be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.'

... Thy will be done on earth
                    as it is in heaven

The Sacred Heart — the Heart of
                    pure, perfect love —
                    Jesus is God — always
                    doing the Father's will —

                The Immaculate Heart, pure and
                    sinless — in perfect compliance
                    to the Father's will —

                In dwelling in Their Hearts
of pure and perfect love —
Fed on the Bread of Life —

                    The Eucharist and the Word—

                The poor banished children of
                    Adam and Eve are living
more and more in the Father's
                    will —

The saints in heaven — in perfect accord

                    oneness —

This is our model to be in the
                    Father's will as the saints
                        in heaven

Jesus says to pray for this in
                    the Our Father

... thy will be done on
earth as it is in heaven —

                Greater purity for the imperfect
                    men of this earth —
devotion to the 2 Hearts —
                    Pictures of Their images
                        to remind us of Them

Pure love — not tainted love
                    we have from our wounded
                    human nature

                Oh God our Father —
teach us how to pray —
all for Your honor and glory —
                        not from our tainted ways

Our Father who art in heaven
                    hallowed be thy name
                Thy Kingdom come —
                Thy will be done—
on earth as it is in heaven —

Jesus taught us to pray to our
                    Father this way.

Give us this day our daily bread and
                    forgive us our trespasses —

                We recognize our faults —

1 John 1: 8-10

If we say, ‘We have no sin,’
we are deceiving ourselves,
and truth has no place in us;
if we acknowledge our sins,
he is trustworthy and upright,
so that he will forgive our sins
and will cleanse us from all evil.
If we say, ‘We have never sinned,’
we make him a liar,
and his word has no place in us.

In this lies our healing —
in that we recognize our faults

                The wounded human nature argues
                    about being right even when
the person may be wrong —

Because of pride — the wounded
                    human nature may say —
                    not me —
                    I never do wrong —
                    I am right —

And yet with such an attitude
                    one fails to recognize
                    the imperfect, fallen
                    human nature we have —
And our need for Jesus, Our
                    Savior —

Eve wanted to be equal to God
                Eve sinned
                Eve was guilty of pride
                We all have suffered our
                    wounded human nature
                    because of the sin of
                    Adam and Eve

                Forgive us our trespasses —

                As we forgive those —
                We must forgive!

                Jesus taught us about forgiveness

There is a man on the cross —

                It is the Savior

                He shows us love

                He forgives our sins —

Why do we not see we must
                    forgive each other —
                    not harbor hatred —

Jesus loved us to His death
                        on the cross

                    God is love

... And lead us not into temptation
                    When we don't take responsibility
                        for our habitual sins —
                        our patterned ways —
                        that are sinful —

When we put a bag on our
                        heads — when others
                        are suffering and begging us
                        to stop it —

                We are leading ourselves into
                    temptation —
We put a bag over our
                        head and say —
                    "I didn't do it"

We can argue when we are wrong
                    because of pride and then
in two or 3 days we
                    continue the same habit
                    sinful patterned behavior —

God put us here to walk —
                    hand in hand and
                    we grow in greater
                    perfection loving God and
                    each other —

                We are all uniquely created
to love God as only we
                    can  —
                    like little children —

Excerpt from Response in Christ
by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. - Chapter 3

       e) Relationship with Members of the Church
There is but one true Church of Christ. Yet this one Church has three different states of existence. There is the pilgrim Church, the Church of this world, composed of members who have received the grace of Christ and strive for its development. They have not yet obtained the goal of their efforts, as have the members of the heavenly Church, who enjoy God in eternal happiness. The Church suffering is an intermediate state of existence necessary for those who had not achieved the required purification as members of the pilgrim Church. Although there are these three phases of the Church's existence, there is a profound union existing between all the members. All these members possess the same basic life of grace in Christ, and this common life establishes the most intimate bonds of love. In our preceding chapter, we discussed the pilgrim Church. Let us now consider the Church suffering and the heavenly Church.
The members of the Church suffering are those who have departed from this life in an incomplete state of Christian development. Their development is incomplete in the sense that grace has not fully taken possession of them, and, as a result, they are yet closed in upon themselves to a greater or lesser degree. They as yet cannot open themselves out in complete love to the Triune God in the beatific vision. They must undergo a further purification, a purification which could have been achieved upon earth with merit. Now the purification must be achieved with no merit attached. The pain of this purification is mixed with the certain expectation of achieving the vision of God. We can hasten the advent of this vision for this people by the offering of prayers and other good works. Scripture itself refers to our action on behalf of those in purgatory in Chapter 12 of the Second Book of Maccabees beginning with verse 38.
The members of the heavenly Church are those in whom the life of grace has taken full possession and has reached its completion in the life of glory. Faith now is unnecessary, as the light of glory gives the human intellect a new strength and capacity for seeing God face-to-face. While the Christian was a wayfarer, he received the imprint of the indwelling Trinity as he shared in God's own life. Now in heaven that grace-life and possession of God reaches its completion—the absolute completion is not achieved, however, until the resurrection of the body. The divine persons give Themselves to the beatified in a profound union far surpassing that of the indwelling of the Trinity experienced here below.
This life of heaven is still the Christ-life, for just as we possess a share in Trinitarian life here below as mediated by Christ, and exercise this grace-life as structured by Him, so also in heaven is the mediation of Christ present. In the words of Rahner, "One always sees the Father through Jesus. Just as immediately as this, for the directness of the vision of God is not a denial of the mediatorship of Christ as man."
13 And not only does the humanity of Christ unite the blessed to God, but also, in some way, to the whole of creation. This is merely a completion of what is begun here below, namely, the union with Christ in His humanity establishing the Christian in a special relationship with God, with other men, and with the whole of creation. We have a glimpse, therefore, of the fullness of life which members of the heavenly Church possess.
The heavenly Church, as St. Thomas says, is the true Church.
14 The Church of this earth and the Church of purgatory are, each in its own way, reaching out in loving hope for the heavenly Jerusalem. Vatican II puts it very simply: "The Church, to which we are called in Christ Jesus, and in which we acquire sanctity through the grace of God, will attain her full perfection only in the glory of heaven."15
The members of the heavenly Church can help us in living our life of grace until we too share its fullness with them. Their power of intercession on our behalf is but another ramification of the communal aspect of Christianity. We are meant to help others grow in Christ. We, in turn, are intended by God to receive aid from others—yes, from members of the heavenly Church, as well as from those with whom we dwell here below.
Not only can we be aided by the saints' intercession, but the example of the canonized saints can also be of great value to us. They have concretely proved that full holiness is possible. Such an inspiration is of real worth when we are tempted to think that Christian sanctity in its higher degrees is impossible of attainment. Moreover, the canonized saints, in their diversity, teach us that there are many authentic versions of Christian holiness. They can be innovators in showing us that there are numerous possibilities in assimilating the mystery of Christ, although the basic assimilation remains the same for all Christians of all times. In the opinion of Rahner this is one of the chief roles the canonized saints exert in the life of the Church.

The Mystery of Christ and Christian Existence

...In reference to Christianity, God himself is the ultimate mystery. Radically, God is completely other and transcendent, hidden from man in his inner life, unless he chooses to reveal himself. Let us briefly look at this inner life of God.

The Father, in a perfect act of self-expression, in a perfect act of knowing, generates his son. The Son, the Word, is, then, the immanent expression of God's fullness, the reflection of the Father. Likewise, from all eternity, the Father and the Son bring forth the Holy Spirit in a perfect act of loving.

At the destined moment in human history, God's self-expression, the Word, immersed himself into man's world. God's inner self-expression now had also become God's outer self-expression. Consequently, the mystery of God becomes the mystery of Christ. In Christ, God tells us about himself, about his inner life, about his plan of creation and redemption. He tells us how Father, Son, and Holy Spirit desire to dwell within us in the most intimate fashion, how they wish to share with us their own life through grace. All this he has accomplished and does accomplish through Christ. St. Paul tells us: "I became a minister of this Church through the commission God gave me to preach among you his word in its fullness, that mystery hidden from ages and generations past but now revealed to his holy ones. God has willed to make known to them the glory beyond price which this mystery brings to the Gentiles—the mystery of Christ in you, your hope of glory. This is the Christ we proclaim while we admonish all men and teach them in the full measure of wisdom, hoping to make every man complete in Christ" (Col 1:25-28).

The Our Father

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

                Jesus taught us children how
                    to pray —

Matthew 11: 25

At that time Jesus exclaimed, ‘I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for hiding these things from the learned and the clever and revealing them to little children.

                Dear Father teach us how
                    to pray

John 17: 21-23

May they all be one,
just as, Father, you are in me
   and I am in you,
so that they also may be in us,
so that the world may believe
it was you who sent me.
I have given them the glory
   you gave to me,
that they may be one as we are one.
With me in them and you in me,
may they be so perfected in unity
that the world will recognise
that it was you who sent me
and that you have loved them
as you have loved me.

The Holy Spirit gives to us
                    wisdom to know

Come Holy Spirit fill our hearts
                        with the Fire of God's
                        love —

Renew the face of the earth

Dear Father, in the name of Jesus,
united to the Holy Sacrifice of the
                    Mass with all the angels
and saints in the Holy Spirit
                    through the powerful intercession
of the Virgin Mary — teach us
                    how to pray.

By praying to God the Father
as our Father — it gives
                us dignity
                spiritual linage

                We are the little children
                    of God the Father —

God wants us to inherit the
                    Kingdom of heaven —

                It is love that God
                    has made us

                We are His family —
We as human persons are part
                    of the human family —

                    We are commissioned in
                baptism to spread the good
news of the Father's love —

The Our Father

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Guiding Light - Reflect on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light homily series - Reflect on the Word - Cycle B —  The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $15

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light homily series - Steadfast to the Son - Cycle A — The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Liturgical Year

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul - Cycle C — In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word - Cycle B — At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15

Guiding Light - The Word Alive in Our Hearts

Audio CD - Read by Father Edward J. Carter
$ 10.00  plus postage

Priestly Newsletter - 2000 #1 - CD. - Christ is Our Strength - Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our-selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10

Priestly Newsletter - 2000 #2 - CD. - Suffering: A Source of Life - Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. Fr. Carter knew suffering that year. His voice is so powerful as he read each Newsletter from his heart and soul. "Every man has his own share in the redemption. Each one is also called to share in that suffering through which the redemption was accomplished. He is called to share in that suffering through which all human suffering has also been redeemed. In bringing about the redemption through suffering, Christ has also raised human suffering to the level of the redemption. Thus each man in his suffering can also become a sharer in the redemptive suffering of Christ–." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10
