                Today's Readings

Romans 8: 31-39

After saying this, what can we add? If God is for us, who can be against us? Since he did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for the sake of all of us, then can we not expect that with him he will freely give us all his gifts? Who can bring any accusation against those that God has chosen? When God grants saving justice who can condemn? Are we not sure that it is Christ Jesus, who died — yes and more, who was raised from the dead and is at God's right hand — and who is adding his plea for us? Can anything cut us off from the love of Christ-can hardships or distress, or persecution, or lack of food and clothing, or threats or violence; as scripture says:

For your sake we are being massacred
        all day long,
treated as sheep to be slaughtered?

No; we come through all these things triumphantly victorious, by the power of him who loved us. For I am certain of this: neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nothing already in existence and nothing still to come, nor any power, nor the heights nor the depths, nor any created thing whatever, will be able to come between us and the love of God, known to us in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Luke 13: 31-35

Just at this time some Pharisees came up. 'Go away,' they said. 'Leave this place, because Herod means to kill you.' He replied, 'You may go and give that fox this message: Look! Today and tomorrow I drive out devils and heal, and on the third day I attain my end. But for today and tomorrow and the next day I must go on, since it would not be right for a prophet to die outside Jerusalem.

'Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets and stone those who are sent to you! How often have I longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you refused! Look! Your house will be left to you. Yes, I promise you, you shall not see me till the time comes when you are saying:

    Blessed is he
who is coming in the name of the Lord
.'

Picture of the Sacred Heart of JesusI Died for You

February 23, 1994

Jesus: I want this emotion in the letter I told you to write. I, Jesus, Son of God, talk to you with such emotion! I am He Who died a brutal death for love of you. I died for you! I love you this much, to give My Life! Yet you couldn't even write when I asked you. You must do exactly as I say. I do not want you ever to say no to Me!

I have such emotion! I am telling you how I died a brutal death and you, My child, did not write for Me! What more can I do? What more do they want? You put others before Me or you would do as I command. I want you to do as I tell you every moment.

I am the Lord. I am the Son of God. Such emotion I let you feel for My death. I died. I am a person. I was human and I died for you. Think of yourself giving your life for someone and they do not care. What can I do to shake you? What more can I say? I am here and I am loving you and pleading with you to listen to Me with this emotion that God is telling you. I am Jesus. I died for you. I gave My life for you and do you even listen, My little sweet one? You didn't want to write it for My children. When I give you a command, you write. When I say do, you do. Selflessness! I am pushing you because I need your total surrender. Do not ever deny My writing to My loved ones. You have a responsibility. I don't care where you are when I talk. I am God and I talk to you. I am so present to you.

Listen. I need your selflessness. I need your surrender. I need your life, given for love of Me and Me alone. I need you to be the light that shines on the hill, that does not go in and out but is constant in My love. I need your commitment. I need your attention at every moment. I am feeding you My words every moment on paper and in your hand. You must obey Me exactly as I command. No questions, only action. I want action. Now! You write when I say write. I don't care where you are. You worry not for others. I am giving you the mighty medicine. Would you tell the doctor to wait? I am God and I do not ever want to wait while you play a safe game with Me. When I say do something, I want you to do it. You are My beloved and I am filling you with fire.

I am pushing you to do that which I need done. Do not ever stop to look around. Keep your focus on Me and My commands for you. I am using you every moment. I must be able to count on your constant consent to do My will immediately! I am calling you to this work and I want you to comply. I love you ardently. I am so full of love for you. Focus on this and this alone. I am Who am. I am God, child. Do not ever hesitate. Do not doubt or think. You must act as I act in you or My work will not be done.

Be selfless about My commands. You will do My work. You will spread My words of love and create emotion with My songs and I will use you to bring My flock to My love. I love every soul! You must spread My love.

Note: (Meditating on the Crucifixion) Going to Mass at the seminary at 8:00 a.m. was rushed. He said to me, "Where are you going, child. Do you not feel My presence with you?" A calm came over me. Then He started lamenting how He died for us, how He is a true person and He loves us so much. He said, "I died for you."

R. He gave His life for us. He is the little lamb led to the slaughter out of love for us. He said, "I need you to do this work now and I am pushing you." He was so upset! He died for us. He loves us so much as to give His life.

He begged me to spread His love, to tell others how He, bloodied, bruised and beaten, gave us His life.

Jesus: I am God. I am God. I died. Spread My love now! Now! Now! Now! Now! I am begging you not to hold back! Read these letters now, read and learn about My love. I beckon you to speak of My love. Shout it from the high roof. Proclaim it in the cities. Jesus Christ died for love of you and He is risen! I am He Who is God and I died for you!

Listen and preach My love and emotion here. Priests will create little cities, little cities in each church to spread the light of Christ to this sick world. Each priest can create his own little city, a powerhouse of God's love. God has all the power. His power is endless. It never runs out. It is might. You have no power except through Him. Churches filled with the intimate love of Jesus will be powerhouses.

I am God, My little ones. God can do all things. I can make your cities light up the darkness. I am the Way, the Truth, the Life. I am the light of life. I am God! I can do all things. I want to act in you. You need to be in constant union with Me. My priests, you need to be selfless. My soul and yours are one. I want to act in you.

Hold not back. Pray the Prayer for Union with Me.

                R. In You Oh God is my peace —

Create in me a clean heart —
That my heart will not be set to
                    control or jealousies, slothfulness,
                    greed, lust, pride, anger

But that my motives are pure —
Purity in heart, oh God —
That my goal is the will of God and
                My eyes are on Thee

Jesus: Do these days of retreat —
                    I am God
I am deserving of this love and song —
I have asked you for this —
I gave you the Virgin Mary building —
I gave you the Church of China
I gave you the Eucharist there
                        What a gift!

                R. Luke's Gospel is
                called the journey narrative —

                Jesus' journey to Jerusalem —
                Many chapters

                Jesus was probably in Galilee
                    during this Gospel today

Jesus is not the least bit scared —
Jesus says it's not going to happen —
Jesus knew His destiny was Jerusalem —
No matter what Herod does —
Jesus will do His work —

                But Jesus laments over Jerusalem
                    and what they had —
                    they would lose it —
                    because of how they didn't
                    listen to Him

Our first reading is a beautiful
reading of hope and love —
we are the only ones who
                    break our relationship with
God — We have a free will —

We ask God to fill us with His love —
God is with us — we must turn to Him —
God wants us to do His will —
Jesus gave us the Blue Books —

Blue Book I

Blue Book II

Blue Book III

Blue Book IV

Blue Book V

Blue Book VI

We pray for the clergy —
to be a sign to all in the world —

Our lives are lived to pray for the
priests, the Church and the world —

Our lives are men for others —
                    loving and
serving God for His purpose —

                Lord hear our prayers —

                Strengthen us —
                Oh God help us —
                Hear us —

Help us to listen to God
To be good disciples of the Lord —
A disciple is one who listens —

One who is always on a journey
                    to be more perfected —
                    like the saints —

Oh God how precious indeed is
                    the Eucharist —
Oh God come and heal us
                    Let us know Your presence,
                    Your love —

A man can be crippled — life long and
not able to walk or go on a journey
                    with his legs —

At long last a miracle comes upon
him — he can walk and use his legs
to take the journeys of many lands —
to see the sights to be alive in
                heart and mind —

A clean heart create in me —
that the dirty ways of jealousy,
                lust, anger, greed, slothfulness —
do not be the motive for any actions —

It is the motive ——  to do God's will
                                                    pure
                                                    holy
                                                    for good

                A man who is angry
and tells himself he has none is
                        like the crippled man —
or a blind man who cannot see —

both cannot proceed on the journey
                    they have a handicap

                Knees are great for walking,
What if we have a handicap —
                    A bad knee cap —

What is the cap you wear and act
as if it isn't there that keeps
                    you paralyzed

The priest Sunday at Mass was talking
                about the blind man, Bartimaeus,
                he was begging —
on hearing of Jesus — he began to
                    cry out
"Jesus, son of David, have pity
                    on me"

"And many of them scolded him
and told him to keep quiet,
but he only shouted all the louder,
‘Son of David, have pity on me.’
Jesus stopped and said, ‘Call him here.’
So they called the blind man over. ‘Courage,’
they said, ‘get up; he is calling you.’ ."  Mark 10

"He threw aside his cloak" — the
                priest said

"He threw aside his cloak is
                important the priest said"

What do we need to die to, to be healed —
What cloak do we lie about to
                    ourselves we need to shed

I think of the Spiritual Exercises —
                    "Mastery of self"

From The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius
    by Louis J. Puhl, S.J.

p.11

21.                     SPIRITUAL EXERCISES

Which have as their purpose the conquest of self
and the regulation of one's life in such a way that
no decision is made under the influence of any
    inordinate attachment

                Look at the Blue Books

Fr. Carter loved Blue Book II and Blue Book III —
he said Blue Book II was all on surrender

Mary asked for "conversion" at Fatima —

Because of the fall of Adam and Eve
                    we all die

Do we not even see —

"I look like my mom and dad" — somebody says
"I have my dad's bad knee" you say
"My dad had diabetes, I have
a weakness there" — another may say
"My dad had heart problems —
so do I" someone may say

"Her smile looks like her mom's" —
"her nose looks like her dad"
                    somebody may say —

"My mom, was short and petite and
so am I" someone may say

"At one and 1/2 that baby is built like
                        their dad" —

"My dad worried, so I worry a lot about
                        nothing"

"They" the parents usually were the
                        ones who taught us about
                        life

How to handle things, to be angry
                        because they were angry inside
angry ways taught to us —

Well we have tendencies toward —
                    7 deadly sins

Pride, Greed, Envy, Wrath, Lust, Gluttony, Sloth

These are because of the fall of our
first parents — Adam and Eve

Cain killed his brother in cold blood —
                    even after God told him
"the devil is lurking at your
                    door, but you can be
                    master over him"

Cain didn't listen to God —

God wanted Jonah to reach the people
of Nineveh so they would repent

Nineveh repented, but Jonah was not happy

Jonah 4: 1-11

This made Jonah very indignant; he fell into a rage. He prayed to Yahweh and said, ‘Please, Yahweh, isn’t this what I said would happen when I was still in my own country? That was why I first tried to flee to Tarshish, since I knew you were a tender, compassionate God, slow to anger, rich in faithful love, who relents about inflicting disaster. So now, Yahweh, please take my life, for I might as well be dead as go on living.’ Yahweh replied, ‘Are you right to be angry?’

Jonah then left the city and sat down to the east of the city. There he made himself a shelter and sat under it in the shade, to see what would happen to the city. Yahweh God then ordained that a castor–oil plant should grow up over Jonah to give shade for his head and soothe his ill–humour; Jonah was delighted with the castor–oil plant. But at dawn the next day, God ordained that a worm should attack the castor–oil plant–and it withered. Next, when the sun rose, God ordained that there should be a scorching east wind; the sun beat down so hard on Jonah’s head that he was overcome and begged for death, saying, ‘I might as well be dead as go on living.’ God said to Jonah, ‘Are you right to be angry about the castor–oil plant?’ He replied, ‘I have every right to be angry, mortally angry!’ Yahweh replied, ‘You are concerned for the castor–oil plant which has not cost you any effort and which you did not grow, which came up in a night and has perished in a night. So why should I not be concerned for Nineveh, the great city, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, to say nothing of all the animals?’

                Whose side are we on?

Paul was knocked from his horse —
                    he had Stephen martyred

St. Ignatius was hit by a cannon
                    ball —

What journey and what way in our
vocation is God trying to lead
                    us to heaven and

What is our cloak — like the blind man
in Sunday's Gospel — we need
to throw aside to be healed

Pride is the downfall of Eve —
she wanted to be equal to God —

A person can test God —
                God sees everything
                God ponders our hearts —
                He knows our ways —

He knows the impurity of the
                    actions — the
Motive — the evil with which
                    we act —

We are on a journey to love God and
                    love one another —
If we choose our whole life to
act out the wounded past and
try to make others take it —
we are spending our lives in
                    a trap — a trap of misery —

                Life is for living
                Living is in Him —

Living is in having pure goals —
not being a victim of our past
                    hurts —
looking for a victimizer to blame
                    them on at 50

50 years of choosing the isolated path
50 years of choosing the victim path —
50 years of our style — some saying no to relationships —
healthy ones of giving and taking with others —

An individual can change their 'life' into
'living' — living in the pure Heart of Jesus
living to be pure like the
New Eve — our spiritual Mother —

                Or we can be
                    Enslaved — acting out
acting out of our wounded human nature —

The people in the Old Testament would
                    disobey God and then they
                    would be enslaved by
some group with pagan gods —

                Then they would repent and

God would send Moses or a King, a person, a prophet
                    to help them —
                    then they would get rebellious
                    again and
                    they would be enslaved again
                        to someone over them

What about the false gods we worship
                    today —

Money can be a false god —

Sports — so we have no time or little time for God —
and miss Sunday Mass, this can be
                    a false god

Ourselves can be our god —
murdering the baby of the womb
Power — can be a false god
Greed — money, money, money to take to our grave —
                Seeking dominance for dominance
sake can be a false god

Wanting our way to the point of
                    being a "sitting bull"
                    when we need to change

God put us here to work with each
                    other —

God made families — so we depend on
                    each other —

In seeing the envy in the Old Testament
look at Joseph and his brothers

God blessed us — God gave us holy men like
Joseph, but his brothers acted evil —
                God blessed us with Noah
                God blessed us with Abraham
                God blessed us with Moses

But the people were rebellious —
                Sarah, Abraham's wife and Hagar
                    were jealous of each other

Genesis 21: 5, 8-20

Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.

The child grew and was weaned, and Abraham gave a great banquet on the day Isaac was weaned. Now Sarah watched the son that Hagar the Egyptian had borne to Abraham, playing with her son Isaac. "Drive away that slave-girl and her son," she said to Abraham, "this slave-girl's son is not to share the inheritance with my son Isaac." This greatly distressed Abraham, because the slave-girl's child too was his son, but God said to him, "Do not distress yourself on account of the boy and your slave-girl. Do whatever Sarah says, for Isaac is the one through whom your name will be carried on. But the slave-girl's son I shall also make into a great nation, for he too is your child." Early next morning, Abraham took some bread and a skin of water and, giving them to Hagar, put the child on her shoulder and sent her away. She wandered off into the desert of Beersheba.

When the skin of water was finished she abandoned the child under a bush. Then she went and sat down at a distance, about a bowshot away, thinking, "I cannot bear to see the child die." Sitting at a distance, she began to sob.

God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven. "What is wrong, Hagar?" he asked. "Do not be afraid, for God has heard the boy's cry in his plight. Go and pick the boy up and hold him safe, for I shall make him into a great nation." Then God opened Hagar's eyes and she saw a well, so she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.

God was with the boy. He grew up and made his home in the desert, and he became an archer. He made his home in the desert of Paran, and his mother got him a wife from Egypt.

Look at what the prophet Haggai
                    wrote 1: 1-8

Haggai 1: 1-8

In the second year of King Darius, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of Yahweh was addressed through the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah and to Joshua son of Jehozadak the high priest as follows,  'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "This people says: The time has not yet come to rebuild the Temple of Yahweh." ' through the prophet Haggai, as (And the word of Yahweh was addressed follows,) 'Is this a time for you to live in your panelled houses, when this House lies in ruins?  So now, Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Think carefully about your behaviour. You have sown much and harvested little; you eat but never have enough, drink but never have your fill, put on clothes but feel no warmth. The wage-earner gets his wages only to put them in a bag with a hole in it." Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Think carefully about your behaviour. Go up into the hills, fetch timber and rebuild the House; and I shall take pleasure in it and manifest my glory there — Yahweh says.

Why make a journey when you
                    are opposing the One who
has sent us all on a journey and
                    wants us home forever
                    with Him

Did you ever play a game
where you are the master over
your piece and you move it
                    to win —

God gives us a free will —
We play on the surface of the earth —
We have a fallen human nature —
We can follow in the footsteps
of Jesus and be holy —
or we can rebel against our maker —

                How holy were the saints
like St. Thomas More — standing
up for what was right and
                        losing his head —

How holy was John the Baptist?
                How holy was Stephen?

Peter was weak, but his heart
                    was right

Judas had evil in his heart —
                Judas was a betrayer
Judas sold Jesus for 30 pieces
                    of silver
Judas was proud — secretive —
Judas thought he knew more than Jesus
                Judas' Journey ended in
                    despair

Married couples learn to give and take
People at work obey those over
                    them

We are to obey our God —
                God is the Creator
                We are the creatures

God has asked us to pray
8 days a month to make reparation —
to spread the books on the Eucharist
                        and the Mass
These are to make reparation for the sins
                        of the earth —

These are to help renew the
                    Church and the world —

God has given this Movement to
                    majorly help to do this

Let's do what God asked for
                God deserves our praise and
                    love and singing

Words of Jesus to Members of
Shepherds of Christ Associates:

"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.

"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.

"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."

- Message from Jesus to Father Edward J. Carter, S.J., Founder, as given on July 31, 1994,
feast of Saint Ignatius Loyola, Founder of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits)
