The child of the past —
Children who were neglected, not
told how special they were, not
given the love and affirmation they
needed — mom or dad busy with
other things neglecting the needs of
the children, alcoholics, mom and
dad addicted to things and unavailable
can be the reason a child is scared
from necessary needs.
When some wanted to get
married — because of being so
starved of ordinary love — or the
siblings got it — a person can be
so wounded and wanting the affection
they never had as a child and they
can act out in the infantile stage —
where they want to be picked up and
held — Their acting out with others
in attempting to have spousal
intimate relationship can be that
of wanting more and more affection
like a child — not a married partner —
wounded this way and not admitting it
to themselves they may keep a distance,
put up a wall and never have any
friends because they are wounded and
are full of anger, vindictiveness from
unmet needs —
They can act out — almost as if
they were in that unfinished business
of childhood — provoking — secretly to
watch a family, a community fall —
to vent their vindication for their unmet
needs and lack of love for themselves —
or recognition of their specialness —
that they were uniquely created by God
for His purpose —
Styles of the wounded child cause
havoc, push others away — can act like
a house of cards — in their sneakiness
they provoke and in advanced stages
can be happy when others suffer
because of their sin —
In normal homes — children learn
they are special — siblings are
recognized in their uniqueness — love
is given to help all children develop in
healthy, loving relationships —
People's inner child can be
so scared from unmet needs — their
life can be seen as the inner child
acting out their past - as locked
in that world —
They can latch onto innocent others
who are loving and helpful as they create
the atmosphere of being a victim and
victimized by someone in their present
life — having nothing to do with their
unmet needs, but suffering as the
wounded child of the past plays havoc
in any setting, family, community etc.
where the hidden child wants vindication
and repair for unmet needs of the past
God wants unity and love in the Father's
family — Because of the wounded human
nature the tendencies
remain after baptism — the tendencies
of seeking dominance for dominance sake —
pride (which open a door to satan ), envy,
jealousy, slothfulness, gluttony, greedy,
lust etc. —
Some seek affections for themselves —
vain glory, others give into foolish
pride, others seek riches —
These tendencies are because of our
fallen human nature —
We can watch a person — who has
said "no" to relationships — seek
to act out in whatever setting they
are in —
Being neglected and scared in
childhood must be worked through
in the heart of the wounded person —
to continue acting vindictively when in
the company of a family, community is
to say for some — how can they do that
again and for those acting
out of a scared past — they are
acting in their blindness from the
desire of a hidden child — filled with
anger for unmet needs —
You can say — in love to them — when
they come to the scene with a childish
demanding look — like "why don't you
fix me" — You can say when a job
needs to be done and they can only see
through these 'childish wounded eyes'
"What do you want?"
They can't tell you — they are
wounded and they project their wounded
anger on an innocent other as they
can once more — be as they have
allowed themselves to be —
Acting out for the inner child of
the past —
Not parenting themselves and acting
as they should —
but acting out childish anger —
now can be 50 years old — walking
back and forth before those they
believe has wronged them — as if the
person dealing with them in adult
life could know the locked box
they hold of unmet childhood needs and
do anything to help them — demanding
attention — blocking work — hurting
others and the little child inside them
demands to through their pouting
session — one more time
Like Fr. Mike says — it is
them — the defects of their character they
give into — acting like a child demanding
their way with wounded emotions
from childhood — in their adult body —
When would it end — if one happened to
be married to this person —
Only when they go through some
form of recovery for themselves — they
have to look at themselves — A person
scared in childhood and acting out
in adulthood can be filled with
anger to try to cause the cards to
fall — the key is how they provoke —
God intends us to be accountable for our
behavior — to know ourselves — not to
fall into pockets of childhood scars and
project hatred on innocent others for
our unmet childhood needs —
Children need love — attention,
they learn about themselves when first
born - as toddlers
But we are responsible for our
sins — When we sin we are to examine
our conscience and say we were
wrong and repent — tell God we are sorry —
A person locked in childhood scars —
projecting on others their past hurts can
see why the innocent other should
be punished for their anger —
This is wrong —
We are to follow Jesus —
We are to live in the truth —
We are to admit our sins
We are to grow in greater
purity
Being stuck in a cubby hole, that
is dark — with our wounded
child of the past — raging —
projecting onto others our misery
and hatred — blaming others for the
blackness inside of us — makes us
deeper and deeper in that blackness —
untruth —
Where God intends us to — go to confession —
to live holy lives —
We can say
"I do what I want"
You will put up with my
provoking, arguing, secrets and
That's how I come!!"
A person provoking in their ways — will
do it when a bishop is there —
in Church etc. —
That is how they act — that is the
defect of character —
When others are seeing outward —
praying — doing the job
at hand — the ones acting
out from their wounded
childhood are locked in
themselves!
They see inward into the darkness
of their sins, selfishness — hurting
others and seeing how they have
been wronged
A person walking in the Light
lives to build the Kingdom of God —
lives in the truth —
lives in Christ —
lives to love God and others
A person not working on themselves
acting out of their 'style"
and having any relationships besides
with their family
that were lasting — is missing a lot —
God made us to grow —
God made us to be actors
NOT Reactors —
When someone is in a community and
they do something, every time,
to tear it down —
that is hidden — sneaky — they
should ask themselves —
What does God mean about building
His Kingdom?
How is the Holy Spirit working in
their lives to live in that
oneness with God —
The Trinity is our model
The Trinity is the most perfect community —
The Heavenly Father wants us pure
like Mary
The Heavenly Father gave us Mary
our spiritual Mother

marriage to work with each
other —
We don't marry our family —
God gives us children — to
co-create out of our love —
Love is relationship
Heaven is relationship
I saw a pamphlet in Alanon —
It was called
"The Merry-Go-Round
called denial"
The hardest thing can be to be honest
with ourselves —
When adults are raging like little
children who need love
When adults are passive-aggressive —
where provoking and punishing
become a way of life —
How could such behavior make that
individual happy
In the Merry-go-round called denial
it says the provoker is the
key —
A passive-aggressive person can provoke in
secret to anger another and walk away
like one in a white wedding dress —
My brother at Church said Sunday —
My mom always taught me
She said
"I might not see you, but God does"
A person hurting others drives themselves further
and further from God — and therefore
are miserable and angry
Happiness comes in union with God —
When we sin and hurt others — we are missing
the boat of life —
Life is in Him —
God wants us to live united to Him —
God wants us to die to our evil ways —
People who provoke and act out on others
from their wounded childhoods
bring division and untruth —
NOT Unity and LOVE
We are to control ourselves —
Not be reactors of our wounded childhoods
One lady wore a dress every Sunday —
On closer notice — it became every day —
every hour
The dress was the dress of a wounded
angry, vindictive child of the past
God wants us holy like Mary
Fr. Carter talks about asceticism
We are to discipline ourselves and
be accountable for our failings —
God gives us confession
Jesus died for our sins —
Spiritual growth is why we are
here —
To be more perfected as our heavenly
Father is perfect
