Isaiah 2: 1-5

The vision of Isaiah son of Amoz, concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

It will happen in the final days
that the mountain of Yahweh’s house
will rise higher than the mountains
and tower above the heights.
Then all the nations will stream to it,
many peoples will come to it and say,
‘Come, let us go up
    to the mountain of Yahweh,
to the house of the God of Jacob
that he may teach us his ways
so that we may walk in his paths.’
For the Law will issue from Zion
and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.

Then he will judge between the nations
and arbitrate between many peoples.
They will hammer their swords
    into ploughshares
and their spears into sickles.
Nation will not lift sword against nation,
no longer will they learn how to make war.

House of Jacob, come,
let us walk in Yahweh’s light.

Excerpt of The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, by Louis J. Puhl, S.J.

136. THE FOURTH DAY

        A MEDITATION ON TWO STANDARDS

The one of Christ, our supreme leader and lord,
the other of Lucifer, the deadly enemy of our
human nature

PRAYER.   The usual preparatory prayer.

window at a former Jesuit Seminary

137. FIRST PRELUDE.   This is the history. Here it will be that Christ calls and wants all beneath His standard, and Lucifer, on the other hand, wants all under his.

138. SECOND PRELUDE.   This is a mental representation of the place. It will be here to see a great plain, comprising the whole region about Jerusalem, where the sovereign Commander-in-Chief of all the good is Christ our Lord; and another plain about the region of Babylon, where the chief of the enemy is Lucifer.

139. THIRD PRELUDE.   This is to ask for what I desire. Here it will be to ask for a knowledge of the deceits of the rebel chief and help to guard myself against them; and also to ask for a knowledge of the true life exemplified in the sovereign and true Commander, and the grace to imitate Him.

FIRST PART

THE STANDARD OF SATAN

140. FIRST POINT.   Imagine you see the chief of all the enemy in the vast plain about Babylon, seated on a great throne of fire and smoke, his appearance inspiring horror and terror.

141. SECOND POINT.   Consider how he summons innumerable demons, and scatters them, some to one city and some to another, throughout the whole world, so that no province, no place, no state of life, no individual is overlooked.

142. THIRD POINT.   Consider the address he makes to them, how he goads them on to lay snares for men and bind them with chains. First they are to tempt them to covet riches (as Satan himself is accustomed to do in most cases) that they may the more easily attain the empty honors of this world, and then come to overweening pride.

The first step, then, will be riches, the second honor, the third pride. From these three steps the evil one leads to all other vices.

SECOND PART

THE STANDARD OF CHRIST

143.   In a similar way, we are to picture to ourselves the sovereign and true Commander, Christ our Lord.

144. FIRST POINT.   Consider Christ our Lord, standing in a lowly place in a great plain about the region of Jerusalem, His appearance beautiful and attractive.

145. SECOND POINT.   Consider how the Lord of all the world chooses so many persons, apostles, disciples, etc., and sends them throughout the whole world to spread His sacred doctrine among all men, no matter what their state or condition.

146. THIRD POINT.   . . .

end of excerpt of The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius

Isaiah 29: 17-24

Is it not true that in a very short time
the Lebanon
    will become productive ground,
so productive you might take it
    for a forest?
That day the deaf
will hear the words of the book
and, delivered from shadow and darkness,
the eyes of the blind will see.
The lowly will find ever more joy
    in Yahweh
and the poorest of people
will delight in the Holy One of Israel;
for the tyrant will be no more,
    the scoffer has vanished
and all those on the look–out for evil
    have been destroyed:
those who incriminate others
    by their words,
those who lay traps for the arbitrator
    at the gate
and groundlessly deprive the upright
    of fair judgement.
That is why Yahweh,
God of the House of Jacob,
Abraham’s redeemer, says this,
‘No longer shall Jacob be disappointed,
no more shall his face grow pale,
for when he sees his children,
my creatures, home again with him,
he will acknowledge my name as holy,
he will acknowledge
the Holy One of Jacob to be holy
and will hold the God of Israel in awe.
Erring spirits will learn to understand
and murmurers accept instruction.’

Jesus speaks:      Oh look Jerusalem, I have held you in My

arms to embrace you. I have given you

the finest wheat. I have fed you with My

Body, you have nursed on the milk of salvation.

Oh look Jerusalem, open your eyes, that you

may see the splendor of a new day. Your

water jars will be filled with the finest

wine, your children will feast at My

                            table.

Oh look Jerusalem, I have prepared a

banquet for you and amongst all the turmoil

you will see My glory come forth — Like

the light in the darkened sky — nothing

                            is too great for Me.

I give you the moon to shine on you at night and the

bright sunlight of the day. You are warmed by

this light, your hearts are "cozy". A garden

I have planted in your vineyards and the

fruits are so beautiful — for you to taste on

                            this and luscious bread.

Oh Jerusalem — open your eyes, let Me hold you

close to My Heart so you will know Me more

                            deeply.

An old house may fall into new hands many times

and each habitant may furnish it differently,

but to he who makes his house on sound rock

and furnishes it with My Image he will not

fall when the torrential rains wash other's

                    buildings away.

A glow for your dwelling coming from My Sacred

Heart. A warm fire to warm you, a light to

the troubled nations, for I have all the Power,

                            you must trust in Me.

A wolf comes in sheep's' clothing and can be a

nuisance of sorts, but you do not stand and

                            let him eat at you.

You dismiss the wolf and send him away,

if he comes again, you send him away, again

                                 and again.

Soon he will make his own bed for he displeases

Me and does the work of satan and I am

                                God the Almighty.

No person can hide from Me, ever.

Oh Jerusalem, My eyes are upon you and in

your struggle you may have thought I have

forgotten you, but nay, my chosen one,

you are held always close to My breast.

It is you who moves away from Me and

I stand as the night watchman guarding your

bed and keeping you close to Me in the

                                mystery of a dark night.

Why would you go there far away from Me when

I am God and I am almighty.

A banquet I give you, a love so deep

for you — I am consumed with

love for My precious souls. I am

                                    God and I am love.

Do not fear, you foolish ones, do not fear —

give yourself to Me and let go —

let go, let go, surrender, I am God

and I love you so much.

1 Chronicles 29: 10-13

Hence, in the presence of the whole assembly David blessed Yahweh. David said:
‘May you be blessed, Yahweh, God of Israel our ancestor, for ever and for ever! Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the splendour, length of days and glory, everything in heaven and on earth is yours. Yours is the sovereignty, Yahweh; you are exalted, supreme over all. Wealth and riches come from you, you are ruler of all, in your hand lie strength and power, and you bestow greatness and might on whomsoever you please. So now, our God, we give thanks to you and praise your majestic name,

November 19, 2003 message continues

Jesus speaks:      Oh the nights are long and the darkness seems

to hang low, clutching you on all

sides. You look for relief and you feel you

find none, but you continue to climb the

mountain amongst the pit holes and the ravines

                                along the way.

Messenger:            Oh God the climb to the top seems treacherous

It is a struggle for one who wants so deeply to

reach the top and still see the daylight

                            when one gets there.

Nights press in early sometimes and where I

thought I had the time and would see by the

daylight, a dark storm arose and robbed

me of the free path, I thought I would

                            have.

A candle is extinguished in wind and rain.

But the light in my soul never flickers

                                or fades.

My love for Thee is steadfast and filled

with tender, thankful, love for You

                                God Almighty.

Jesus speaks:         A light shines in the hearts of those who

know Me, even on the treacherous mountain

the person continues in the wind and storm

and progress is made in reaching the point

at the top. But if one decides to go backwards

and takes shelter and stops the journey —

no progress is made only time spent in

                            immobility.

Push onward and know that I walk with

you when the nights are cold and dark.

A man went on a journey and he took no

supplies, he thought he would feast on

berries of the earth, fish of the sea and

drink from the pure fountains. After the

first few hours he became weary and stopped

to rest by a little pond. He could see the water

was polluted and was afraid to drink, he

walked further and coming upon a bush

with berries he saw several dead

animals near by, so he managed to move

onward, but he was famished and

dehydrated, he then came up on the sea

and the red tide was there so he did not

eat for he felt he would become ill.

He sat by a rock and he began to cry,

then the rain and wind came and he

soon became soaked and very unhappy.

At first his heart had been full of joy

to journey on the way, but soon with

all the perils he began to despair and

he cursed Me and it didn't help him

at all. The more he cursed the weaker he

                            became and finally he died.

Do you set your sights on the right things,

have you not taken time to prepare for

the journey? Is your focus on the

wrong things? — Are you unprepared and

then because of your own actions do you

stop and suffer an awful fate —

Look around you Jerusalem — your life is

but a journey to Me. You go unprepared

and when you need provisions you have

backed yourself in a cave surrounded

                                by poisonous berries, polluted waters

                                and vicious biting snakes.

Oh hear the tail of the poisonous snakes.

Who reaches out to grab them — Silly

                                you say,

I watch the people of the earth

back themselves into corners of their

own making and go into gardens with

                            poisonous snakes —

the snarly snake, the evil serpent

is slippery, cunning and he bites,

but many go and hang out in his cave,

he lures them, he comes as a wolf in

sheep's clothing and they step in

while he sings softly ss — ss —

                            ss — ss

A baby likes a lullaby, but the big

ones, the big people, many of them, have

given into the ss — ss — ss — of

                            the devil.

Babies can know more than troubled

adults. Their hearts are pure, their intentions

                            holy.

Oh I give you food for the journey and

you walk naked in the lions den and

                            he hasn't eaten in days.

You cannot read the writing on the wall

because you miss the overall bad picture.

Your world is very dark because so many

                            do not recognize Me.

I am the light of the world.

Because of willfulness many say no to

My marvelous light and they remain

                                in darkness.

Oh who would have thought after all

these years since My coming, so

many do not believe I am the Son

                                    of God.

A man went into a house of people and over

half were wayward, self focused and

                                not living by the commandments.

                                Envy, jealousy, greediness abounded

and many men did evil things.

                            Oh that you could see

                                Mary says

"Until a sufficient number of people

                                 have consecrated their hearts to

                                 the Sacred Heart and the

                                 Immaculate Heart you won't

                                 have peace in the world."

This is My mission Shepherds of Christ to help

bring about the Reign of My Heart and

                                triumph of Mary's Heart.

                            Oh Jerusalem, your cities are

                                burning and it isn't with

the fire of My love, it is

                                because of destruction, decadence,

                                ill-will.

I create a beautiful tree, and you

do not care for its needs you take

                                it for granted.

America I speak in parables — for

                                you.

See the Virgin Mary I send as a

                                sign

                            And see Me, Jesus, appear.

Take the clay from your eyes.

                            Watch, and listen, don't plug

                            Your ears with wax.

                            Oh people, My people —

I feed you with My Body and Blood

                                    Come and Feast on Me.

I am the Bread of Life —

John 6: 47-51

In all truth I tell you,
everyone who believes has eternal life.
I am the bread of life.
Your fathers ate manna in the desert
and they are dead;
but this is the bread
   which comes down from heaven,
so that a person may eat it and not die.
I am the living bread
which has come down from heaven.
Anyone who eats this bread
   will live for ever;
and the bread that I shall give
is my flesh, for the life of the world.'

Jesus speaks:      Your days here on this earth so short —

tomorrow is promised to no man —

See the vision I want the world to take.

The human race has sinned —

I give you the garden in Florida —

Don't ignore the gift I give

                            I am the New Adam

                            Mary is the New Eve

Matthew 26: 26-30

Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had said the blessing he broke it and gave it to the disciples. ‘Take it and eat,’ he said, ‘this is my body.’ Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he handed it to them saying, ‘Drink from this, all of you, for this is my blood, the blood of the covenant, poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. From now on, I tell you, I shall never again drink wine until the day I drink the new wine with you in the kingdom of my Father.’

After the psalms had been sung they left for the Mount of Olives.
