Luminous Mysteries

R. For Pope Benedict

R. For Faith, Hope and Charity

R. Well today is the second day of the retreat and yesterday was the first day, and on the first day we always meditate on the Joyful Mysteries, on the second day of the retreat, we meditate on the Mysteries of Light. We recall how God created light and He said let there be light and there was light. God is all powerful and He has the power to do all things, but God gives us many things that we must endure, but He listens to our prayers and He is always with us. We must trust in Him now and ask Him for those things that we want healing for, for Orlando, for all our healing needs in the Movement, spiritual and physical. We pray for all the special intentions and we just want to be really close to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary united to the Mass praying this rosary.

John Baptizes Jesus in the Jordon

1. Hail Mary

2. And Jesus says let go. Let go and know that I am with you and that you are not to fear, but to do all things for the honor and glory of God, obeying the will of the Father as He dictates to you, not giving in because of weakness to those things that are opposed to His will, but to do the will of God in all things. And to do all things in great love, for it is love that I seek, that you love God and love one another, that you recognize the gifts that are given to you, that you let go now and let your hearts be consumed with love.

3. R. Dear God, we trust in Your might and Your power, and we come to You with all these intentions and we believe that You will hear our plaintiff cry and that You will help us. We see Jesus being baptized in the Jordon, and we review the great gift of our baptism given to us, this sharing in Your life. And we thank You God, and we praise You God, and we ask You to help us, for in suffering things are very hard, many times, and we may not do things exactly as we should, but what is important — that our hearts are always connected in obedience to God's will, that we do not deter from that, for it is for this that we will be judged, that we walked in the ways of the Lord, as You showed us Jesus, when You walked the earth, that You obeyed Your Father to Your death on the cross.

Today You ask very little things of us and because of our willfulness many times we do it our way when it is opposed to God's way, which can affect and hurt many others. But we think it's a little thing and what God wants of us is love. Love means doing God's will when it is hard and when it is not so hard. It means walking hand-in-hand with Our Savior, doing the work He has called us to do, in our daily lives, in sufferings and in joy, to know that God is using every thing in our lives when we surrender and try to do the will of the Father. Let us report for work this day. The work is — to let go and to let God dictate whatever it is that He wants with us, and to say 'yes'. Surrendering and asking Him to help us, to heal us, to help us to be more perfected, to heal in body, mind and soul and when He asks us to suffer, to suffer with love, looking at the bloodied face of Jesus, and knowing that in that face is the infinite love of Our Savior, who is always that close to us, but we must believe.

4. R. We were watching a movie on Moses and when Moses went up to get the 10 Commandments, they built a molten calf. Today many times we do not want to wait on the Lord and we don't really want to give in to His will. We want relief now. We want Him to do it our way. And He is teaching us, in the waiting as hard as it may be, that He has a plan, that He is with us always. He is teaching us and testing us in fire, like the gold that is tested in fire, and yet many times we may try to do something too quick, that will be the wrong thing to relieve our anxiety. God is calling us now to surrender, to follow His will and to know that, in that, is our joy, and it is tough love, that means, that we do what He holds us responsible for, that we do not walk away and allow things to happen, that are against His will, when it is our responsibility to see that they are done.

5. R. Surrender now and know that He is with us. He is with us, with a Heart that is consumed with love for us, with the same love that He had the day that He died on the cross. This Jesus, the Son of God came, consumed with love for us. He gave His life for us, that we could live with His life in us. Dear God, we thank You for the sacraments, especially in this mystery, the sacrament of Baptism whereby You fill us with Your life. Dear God, help us to treasure this life. Help us to reach more to know You with this special gift of sharing in Your knowing and loving capacity, and to know that the loving that we developed, and the knowing will go with us, when we live our lives to serve You, to honor You and do the will of the Father, for love will not die. In the service of the Lord, love will stay with us.

6. Jesus: Let go My chosen ones. Let go and know that I am close to you, that I love you with the greatest love. I died for you. I died for your sins and I speak to you today to lead you more in the ways of the resurrected life, but you must face the truth and tell your God and others that you are sorry, when you have done wrong. Make peace that tomorrow your day will be a day of intimacy with Me, as you live in the truth. I love you so and you are not perfect, for you have a wounded human nature and that is how you are. Say you are sorry when you are wrong and build a Kingdom of love.

7. Jesus: Built a Kingdom in your heart of truth, that when I come to you on Christmas morn, your heart will be filled with love and ready for Me to take My residence deeply there.

8. R. And we know that Mary is full of grace and that when we die and go to heaven, we too will be full of grace, that here we can be filled more and more with His life, His grace in us, the more that we go to the Mass, the more that we pray before the Blessed Sacrament, the more that we read His Word, the more that He feeds us, feeds our soul with the bread of life. Oh God, outpour Your grace that we may be abundantly filled with Your life. Help us — Help us now for we are the poor banished children of Adam and Eve.

9. R. These are the mysteries of light. See Jesus in the Jordon and John is baptizing Him. And the heavens opened and a voice from heaven says "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased", and above the head of Jesus we see the Holy Spirit. Oh God, come to us. Holy Spirit fill us with God's love and His life in us. Help us not to be filled with fear, but to be fearless, to walk in Your footsteps and to know that when we begin to be afraid, that You are right there with us. We must just focus on that and not give into the negativity of fearing that we are ever alone, away from Your side.

10. And Jesus says: I am with you now. Let go.

R. And let's say this with all our heart — Glory Be

The Marriage at Cana

R. We see that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, Jesus performed what was considered His first public miracle — the Marriage of Cana. We see how intimately God wants this relationship with us, and He used the Marriage of Cana to show us His first public miracle. Today we must recognize that God is a God of miracles, and not give into the defeatist attitude as if He is not there, when our minds run on and on, with this addictive thinking — what if, what if, what if, what if, what if, oh-h-h, what if, oh-h, ah ,and yet it takes a lot of grace from God. It takes the virtue of hope, more and more in us, the vision of faith, the gift of knowing more of God's love for us, as He tells us in the Blue Books. In this mystery, dear God, let us meditate on the miracles that Jesus showed to us on this earth, for Jesus performed many miracles. He healed the lepers, that were filled with leprosy, like we can be with sin. He healed the paralytic and raised Lazarus from the dead. Dear God, raise our hearts from any kind of deadness to be consumed with Your light and have mercy on us, for we have sinned, in not trusting and loving You, and acting in certain ways. Dear God, help us, for we are the poor banished children of Eve.

1. Sing: The Prayer for Union with Jesus

2. Song: Come Holy Spirit

3. R. At the Marriage at Cana He changed water into wine and He gives to us the great gift of the priest. At Mass we see that bread and wine is changed into the Body and Blood of Christ. He is truly present, no less present than the day He walked the earth, in His Divinity and humanity in the Eucharist. Thank You God, outpour Your healing grace to us, for we long for You to help us. Pray for Andrew and the others that have asked us to pray for them and especially for Orlando.

4. Hail Mary
5. Hail Mary
6. Hail Mary

7. For it is in suffering, my children, Mary says, that you know more about the love of Jesus. For as you identify in the suffering that God has given to you, the more you know how Jesus loves you, and how enormously He suffered for you. Accept those things that God has given to you and surrender with loving confidence that God knows all things, and He is with you at all times — praying to Him and asking Him for His healing and for His love — that enduring many of the sufferings because it will help many of my little ones, with the grace that is outpoured. How close my Son Jesus is to you. You must believe that I am with you in a special way this day, that I love you and Jesus is with you. Let go now and focus on Our presence and Our love for you. Let go of the anxiety. Let go of the guilt. Let go and let God.

8. Mary: I am Mary, your Immaculate Mother.

Sing: Immaculate Mary

9. Mary: I am with you now.

10. Mary: I appear as Our Lady of Light.

                 November 28, 2009

Dear Friend,

I give my heart to Jesus and Mary with you in love.

Today Our Lord gave me this message – Read the message given to Fr. Carter.

July 31, 1994

Words of Jesus to Members of
Shepherds of Christ Associates:

"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.

"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.

"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."

- Message from Jesus to Father Edward J. Carter, S.J., Founder, as given on July 31, 1994,
feast of Saint Ignatius Loyola, Founder of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits)

We have sent over 15,000,000 Priestly Newsletters to the priests and hierarchy in 15 ½ years loose and in books.

We did this for most of the time every other month to all the priests in the United States.

Cardinal Stafford of the Vatican said Fr. Carter and I and the Shepherds of Christ had helped the Church enormously since 1993 to present. The hierarchy need our prayers as we pray as members of the Shepherds of Christ.

The prayers are in 8 languages with the Church’s Imprimatur

As we have sent all these Priestly Newsletters to all the priests in the United States and Bishops, Cardinals, etc. – We received a 3 foot stack of letters from hierarchy in the United States and around the world –

     When Mary appeared in Clearwater

shipped from the printers
December 17, 1996

Mary appeared
December 17, 1996

We had circulated the Priestly Newsletter 2 ½ years and Fr. Carter told me Jesus told him that we were always to keep the building for the Shepherds of Christ mission.

Today Jesus said – I gave you a mission 15 ½ years ago to send the Priestly Newsletter to all the priests in the United States every other month – what happened –

Cardinal George told me when I sent Fr. Joe’s Cycle A book that we should send these homilies to the priests. If we send this book to the priests as Jesus told us in the United States – the priests will get this homily about the Old Testament and New Testament and the purity of living as members of the mystical body of Christ in the Father’s family –

We got 2 letters from Cardinals in the Vatican today and about 20 Bishops in the United States from the mailing to the hierarchy on Fr. Joe’s Cycle “C” book – thanking us.

Look at this age in the United States – what is happening – God has given us this book to help the priests weekly in this rebellion against God’s will in the United States and in the world – Weekly we can help parishes all over the United States.

Here is a letter from a priest we sent Cycle B in Florida last year.

Dear Friends,

Greetings! Last year you sent me the book – Guiding Light: Focusing on the Word. It is a series of homilies by Fr. Joe Robinson. What a wonderful gift. I have used it for all my homilies and spiritual reading. It has been a blessing for me and even more – a blessing for my parish. I am very grateful for this gift.

                                Sincerely,

        A Florida Parish Priest

Here is a message a priest left on the phone from Kentucky –

December 30, 2008 –

Hey I just wanted to call you and say blessings – this is simply just an affirmation call. I got in the mail a while back Guiding Light – the Word Alive in Our Hearts – Homilies by Fr. Joe Robinson. I have to admit this has been one of the most edifying pieces of literature I have received in my hands in a long time. Fr. Joe’s homilies are inspiring, they are just wonderful. They are absolutely wonderful. I would love to hear this man preach. I mean that assuming that from what I saw – He’s still around – 40 years – it says on the back here – I haven’t read it thoroughly.  – it even has a song – the song about priests! What an edifying thing that Christ has given to you – the Holy Spirit given to you. I just want to say from one of the priests out here in the trenches along with the great laity of the Church – Thank you! What a blessing this has been to me. So I would love to integrate this in some how, and thank you for the mission of the Shepherds of Christ. What an edifying thing for us today. So no need to call back, but I would just give you my cell phone number. And there’s no need to call back or anything. You got tons on your plate already and everything. But I mean these were just blessed homilies – I would like to see if there is a continuing of Fr. Joe’s homilies and the series and stuff. So anyway – my opinion for whatever it counts. Blessings to you this Christmas season and may the Blessed Mother and all the angels and saints just fill you with Christ’s presence. Talk to you later.

A priest, as many priests who did get the book are calling for Cycle C, from Arkansas today they said they want to kidnap Fr. Joe –

In these troubled times – think of helping the priests and parishes weekly –

When Pope John Paul II was still younger and not the pope yet – he was in Poland between Hitler on one side and Stalin on the other –

     God sent Mary at Fatima.

Jesus gave Fr. Carter this message to write the Priestly Newsletter and send it every other month since 1994 –

Now we can send Fr. Joe’s homilies for them weekly as Cardinal George told us and Cardinal Stafford said we affected the Church in the United States since 1993 to present with the Priestly Newsletter and prayers –

In the midst of the troubles of World War II – Karol Wojtyla, Pope John Paul II was growing in the Church – not yet the pope –

God flooded the earth at the time of Noah – Noah, the descendant of Seth, remained –

Through salvation history God blesses us. He wants us to obey Him –

He sends great blessings to the Church – the popes, hierarchy, saints –

God called Fr. Carter and me and you to this mission –

Look at our fear in the United States.

Look at Our Lady of Clearwater, ignored.

Help me get these homilies to the priests in the United States – a homily weekly for him and his whole parish.

Thank you,

                                                             Rita Ring

1st Sunday of Advent

Jeremiah 33: 14-16

“Look, the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when I shall fulfil the promise of happiness I made to the House of Israel and the House of Judah:

In those days and at that time,
I shall make an upright Branch
            grow for David,
who will do what is just and upright
            in the country.
In those days Judah will triumph
        and Israel live in safety.
And this is the name the city will be called:
        Yahweh–is–our–Saving–Justice.”

1 Thessalonians 3:12 - 4:2

May the Lord increase and enrich your love for each other and for all, so that it matches ours for you. And may he so confirm your hearts in holiness that you may be blameless in the sight of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.

Finally, brothers, we urge you and appeal to you in the Lord Jesus; we instructed you how to live in the way that pleases God, and you are so living; but make more progress still. You are well aware of the instructions we gave you on the authority of the Lord Jesus.

Luke 21: 25-28, 34-36

‘There will be signs in the sun and moon and stars; on earth nations in agony, bewildered by the turmoil of the ocean and its waves; men fainting away with terror and fear at what menaces the world, for the powers of heaven will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand erect, hold your heads high, because your liberation is near at hand.’

‘Watch yourselves, or your hearts will be coarsened by debauchery and drunkenness and the cares of life, and that day will come upon you unexpectedly, like a trap. For it will come down on all those living on the face of the earth. Stay awake, praying at all times for the strength to survive all that is going to happen, and to hold your ground before the Son of man.’

INTRODUCTION

The prophet, Jeremiah, lived during one of the most devastating times in the history of Israel.  He witnessed the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple by the Babylonians.  He saw many of his fellow citizens enslaved and taken into exile.  Yet his words reflect hope and not despair.  His hope is based not on human capabilities but on God's faithfulness to God’s promises.  Jeremiah recalls God’s promise to his people made over 400 years earlier, during the time of King David, that God would bring to the throne a successor to the King who would bring peace and security to Jerusalem.  We still wait for peace and security not only in Jerusalem but all over the world, but the promised one, a descendant of the House of David has begun his reign.  The gospel tells us one day he will come in great glory to establish the kingdom of God forever.

HOMILY

Although our society has begun its preparations for the birth of Christ, even as they are hesitant to mention his birth, the Church begins its preparations today.  Our liturgy, however, wants us to know that we are not only preparing for a special celebration three weeks from now, but our readings put before us the bigger picture.  It’s not just the celebration of Jesus’ birth that we are to prepare for but also we must prepare for the day when he comes again to bring us into his kingdom.  Advent tells us Christ is coming, but it also asks us, are we ready to meet him?  If we’re not, his coming 2000 years ago will have little or no value for us.

For some people his second coming will be a frightening time.  “People will die in fright in anticipation of what is coming upon the world...”  But if we are prepared, not just for Christmas, but for Christ, the Lord tells us “stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand.”  His coming will be for those who have followed him faithfully a day of victory and joy.

Doesn’t it sound as if our Lord is speaking to us today when he tells us: “Be on guard lest your spirits become bloated with indulgence and drunkenness and worldly cares.”  We have to struggle against this happening to all of us during this time of the year.  I’m going to add a thought of my own to this list of things Jesus tells us to guard against.  Make sure to get enough rest.  When we are tired it’s hard to stay organized, focused, to keep our priorities straight and to pray.  And if we don’t pray and keep our priorities straight, Christmas will leave us feeling empty and relieved that it’s all over.

The gospel’s suggestion for us today as we begin Advent is: “Be vigilant at all times and pray…”  Is there a better formula we can apply to this season to prepare for the celebration of Christ’s birth or the coming of Christ at the end of our lives or at the end of time.  I’m not going around like Scrooge saying “Bah, humbug!” to Christmas.  I like decorations and lights and parties and Christmas cards and gifts, but to prepare ourselves for what this season of the year is all about, nothing will do the job better than prayer and good works.

You might pray the rosary or meditate on the Scripture readings for each day.  They are printed every week in the bulletin and you will find them also in the Catholic Update inserted in today’s bulletin.  We have Mass here every morning at 7:30 and Holy Hour twice a week.  We have a bible study, a Legion of Mary, a St. Vincent de Paul, the CAIN ministry and, of course, Bingo.  There’s no end of other good works anyone can find to do if they are interested.  This year we have the shortest Advent possible (only three weeks), so I hope we all make the most of it.

And now is the time to do it.  No doubt you’ve heard this poem before, but it won’t hurt to repeat it.  It is entitled Today

I shall do much in the years to come, but what have I done today?

I shall give out gold in princely sum, but what did I give today?

I shall lift the heart and dry the tear,

I shall plant a hope in the place of fear,

I shall speak with words of love and cheer, but what have I done today?

I shall be so kind in the after while, but what have I been today?

I shall bring to each lonely life a smile, but what have I brought today?

I shall give to truth a grander birth,

And to steadfast faith a deeper worth,

I shall feed the hungering souls of earth, but whom have I fed today?
