                Sing: Open our heart Lord

Jesus: The heart is to be made likened
                    to Mine

I am Jesus, sweet and tender in
                    Heart —

I am He who strengthens you —

                I am your God

Sing: One little light in the darkness

                intone

Jesus: Let your hearts not be heavy
for I come to carry your
                    burdens and make your
                    sufferings sweet with
                    meaning — for your conversion
and the conversion of poor sinners —

                Sing: Open Our Heart Lord

                intone

Jesus: May the cup of suffering you endure,
be the sweetness of your lives
                    ever more identified with
                    Mine —

Sweetness and love given to My
                    Sacred Heart —

As the dew falls upon the ground —
                    your lips are moist with
                    sweet words of praise
and love for your God —

You are an instrument of love
and truth for the courts of
                    the Lord —

Love and Harken to Me for I give
                    you sweetness in suffering —
drink and be made clean —

Sweetness and love is the Heart
                    of the Lord —

                The enemies camp around the
                    just to try to ensnare
                    them, but the justice
                    of God will endure always.

Men be vigilant in your paths —
                    Guard the door of your
                        hearts - lest the evil
                        one come like a thief
                        in the night and
                        in your weakness you
                        let him in —

Watch and be ready with a lamp
to light the path so the
                    just will know you
                    are ready with what
                    they need to further
                    the Kingdom of God —
Be reservoirs of the truth —
                    Let your books be waiting
                        for those whose hearts
                        seek conversion and
                        deeper union with God —

Do not wish for things in such
                    expectations in your daily
lives that a change in events
will be your down fall —

Do not anticipate the actions of
men, for when the time comes
                    men are disobedient many
times and turn on a dime
                    in the wrong direction —

                Then their poor choices can
                    be the reason you turn
                    because of their sin —

                When others choose evil —
                    you remain steadfast
in doing the will of God the
                    Father —

Men cry for foolish things —

But saints - even in suffering -
                    remain steadfast and true —

Be a light in the darkness —
                A coat to a cold child —

The warmth of love to the
                    troubled heart —

Being an enemy to the sinner
                    brings you down —

                Be courageous in your virtue
                    even when they sin —
you are to do God's will and
remain as a lighted lamp in
                    the darkness —

                See children the night comes
                    every day and I make
                    the night time light as
                    I roll back the dark
                    sky every morning —

Like the cloth of the bride
                    on the isle on their
                    wedding  day —
I rolled back the days of
                        light one by one, after
                        the long dark night, for
                        you My precious bride —

I am the bridegroom of your soul —

I am the Light in the darkness —

You know I love you in
                    the star-studded night,
as I lace the sky with
                    their sparkle - even
                    under the mask of the
                    deepest darkness —

Come to Me - little one and enjoy
                    being one with the
                    Almighty God —

                You are so small and
I am great indeed, but little
sweet one, I lift you up
                    so you can embrace
Me and be made strong —

                My Heart is soft and
                    sweet to the touch

The fires of My Heart are
                    warm and provide comfort
                    for you child —

When the world is cold —
                    you know the constancy
                    of My love and
                    when others sin against
                        you - the suffering
                        you experience in
                        dealing with the human
                        conditions help to bring down
grace for your soul and others -
                        for the community, the priest
                        and the Church —

Suffering can be physical and you
                    saw Me suffer in My
                    Passion and

                Sufferings can be invisible —
                    rejection, as I knew and
                    the suffering My Mother
                    knew in My life, My
                    bitter passion —

She kept all these in her heart of love —

                Her heart invisibly pierced
                    by a sword —

Set your sights on God —
                    See as Mary did through
                        the eyes of the heavenly
                        Father —

She shows you her eyes —
                        tearing, open, closing,
                        suffering, loving
                        eyes

Jesus: Mary shows you the eyes
                    of the most perfect
                    handmaid of the Lord
                    focused on God's will

Let the night come and in your
                    heart you never falter
                    from that darkness —
                    Your eyes are set on
                        My Light, the Light
                        of Christ —

Let the Light of the Fire from
My Heart - set a fire for
                    love of you —
                    Light the path —

                I never slumber, I never
                    sleep — I am vigilant —
                    always attentive to your
                    every need —

                Though the tempest comes to
                    tear apart the house —
you are strong and will not
                    shatter under the storm —

Be The Light That Shines In The Darkness (excerpt)

Jesus: You are the light that shines in the dark night.

To be My light shining forth to this world you must come and take refuge in My most Sacred Heart. I came as a little Child into your midst. The star shone bright above Me and I entered into this world. I am He Who lights the dark night. You will cast this light to this world if you are fixed in Me. Be the light that shines in the darkness. I am the Light of this world. You are My little lights that shine so deeply into the darkness. My Heart is a burning flame. When you take refuge in My Heart you are a light to the dark world. Come and dwell deeply in My most Sacred Heart, placed there by My most dear Mother.

Be as you are called by the Father, to shine forth to this world. I am He Who calls you now to go forth and light up this world with the fire of My most Sacred Heart. The love of the one, triune God, is that which powers you. If you are in the state of grace, Our life is so alive in you. You will radiate Our love to this world. My flame of love never falters. Take shelter from every affliction in My Sacred Heart.

I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I want to light this world with My love. Let Me shine and operate from you. Pray My Prayer for Union with Me. Offer yourself totally to the Father with Me in the Holy Spirit at every Mass. Stand under the cross with Mary and give yourself in total surrender to the Father. He has such plans for you. He loves you so much. You are the light that shines in the darkness. Let your light shine and they will see the God Who dwells in your breast. You are so loved, My most precious child. I am Jesus, My Heart is aglow for love of you.

Prayers Will Transform Your Land

Messenger: Light comes every day. There was total darkness throughout the land and as quietly as could be the morning light shone over this same land. Do we question that there existed total darkness and then the light appeared in such grandeur?

Jesus: There will be darkness throughout the earth; men's hearts will turn cold and dark and the light of the love of God will, as quietly, steal across these same hearts and transform them into hearts on fire and alive. What, My child, will do this? The power of the Almighty God can change men's hearts that are dead in sin to hearts that are alive and vibrant, radiating the love of God. Pray, My little one, more than anything you do, your prayers will be that which transforms your land from darkness to light. Only the might of the Almighty God can do this. This is a miracle. A heart, dead in sin, can be touched by the hand of God.

Live My love in your hearts. You are My hands to this dark world. You radiate the love of God from your very being. The most important thing you can do for this earth is to develop your love affair with God. Everything follows from that. If your hearts are set on the Lord, your might will be great. You will shine in the darkest night. The darker the night, the brighter your light. My light is so bright that nothing can compare to or equal this light. Its intensity shines brighter than ever against the dark night.

Oh, My children, if you only believed as you should. You worry for needless tasks. You see the world and you think you control it. You, children, control nothing. I never slumber, I never sleep, I never go away. My light is a vibrant force that shines from the hearts centered in My love.

Keep your hearts pure. Be about your love affair with Me. Come to My altar and receive the one, true God, totally present and in your midst this very day. Sit with Me and soak in My might. Come to the tabernacle. I am the Almighty God. I cast a light from the tabernacle that penetrates your soul. You are filled with My power. I am the Almighty God, truly present there. No less present than the day I walked this earth.

You, My little ones, need to spread this good news. Jesus Christ is Lord. He has died, He is risen, He is in your midst this very day! Come to Me, My little babies, and sit with Me. I await with such gifts for you to come. My Heart is burning for love of you. I penetrate your soul with My might. Come and be transformed by the light of Christ. Sit before Me in the tabernacle. You will receive such power as My might transforms your soul. You needn't fret and worry. Pray children, offer your days up to the Father, through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Offer your lives for all your brothers, living and dead. You have a mighty weapon. Pray. Do not spend time in idle talk discussing the hardened hearts of this world. Offer your days in prayer. Pray constantly. I am the Almighty God. I go before you, I will light the way.

Keep your hearts ever set on the mysteries of Christ. It is through Me you will reach such heights. I am the Almighty God. I go before you. I gave My life that you would live. I loved you to My death, My sweet children. Come to Me and I will give you rest.

Alleluia.

Sing: One Little Light in the Darkness

On September 3, 1994 - First Saturday

Messenger: I suffered the greatest sorrow within my heart for the sorrows of Mary. I had gone to Mass and the priest had done the peace rosary.

This is what would happen to me at Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center. My heart would be in such anguish because of the sorrows of Mary I experienced. I would be buckled over in pain. This day I was before the Sorrowful Mother statue in the back of the main chapel. We were going to the Falmouth, Kentucky Farm, that day to pray. I was so drained and weak from this experience, I thought I could not go. I was weakened, so weakened, the experience lasted about an hour and was so intense. I existed in this intense pain of the Immaculate Heart.

That afternoon we came for the 6:30 p.m. prayers where Our Lady would appear. At 6:00 p.m. I went to the tabernacle in the Rosary Chapel and there was this picture of Jesus to the left of the tabernacleImage of the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart and a candle with the Sacred Heart of Jesus on it. There was sunlight in the room from the rosary windows. I sat before the tabernacle on the altar as I had done so many times, before the picture and left of the tabernacle. I began to experience the deepest agony of His Heart. I knew the sorrow of His Heart for all who do not come before Him in the Blessed Sacrament. I knew His sorrow so deep within me for all the blocks I had experienced in delivering the messages. I was so weakened and I was suffering. Then the lights in the room dimmed and the picture of the Sacred Heart turned black before me. I could very faintly see His outline behind the blackness. The candle of the Sacred Heart went out. I sat on the end of my chair in pain and suffering and a fear shot through me. I wondered what had happened. It remained this way for about 5 minutes.

Then the light in the room returned, the candle went on and the picture became bright, all instantaneously, brighter than ever before. I went to the back of the chapel where Mary would appear, to do the 6:30 p.m. prayers and I cried. I was so shaken from the experience. Father Carter was there for the prayers. I was told to tell Father Smith, which I did.

Excerpt from September 3, 1994

Mary: My children, my heart was pierced with a sword to watch my beloved Son suffer so for love of you. Pray the rosary for our beloved brothers. Sacrifice, offer your days in union with the Mass for their souls. Time is so short, my beloved ones. Pray, pray, pray. Your prayers can help save the lives of your brothers. Time is short. I am Mary, your Mother and thank you for responding to my call.

First Saturday, September 3, 1994

Vision:

I went to Falmouth with Fr. Carter - that morning I had an experience with Mary's suffering in the back of the same chapel where Mary was appearing to me daily. I suffered so much and was so weak I thought I would not be able to go to Falmouth with Fr. Carter that day. I was suffering in the morning. At 5:00 p.m. I again went to the chapel at the old seminary. I sat in front of the Sacred Heart picture at the main altar, in front of the tabernacle and started to cry. This went on for 20 minutes. The Sacred Heart picture illuminated. The picture remained illuminated for 20 minutes. There was a candle with the Sacred Heart image on it, it was by the picture and it too was lighted. Then the light on the picture, the candle, and the sunlight in the room simultaneously grew dark. I could faintly see the image of Jesus in the picture, it was covered with a black covering. I sat there and stared at the picture, trying to see Jesus, but could barely see through the black covering or darkness - I saw Him a little. It remained this way for about 3 or 4 minutes. Then, slowly, the lights came on, simultaneously they grew brighter and brighter. It took about one minute. Then the lights were brighter than before.

You Are the Light in the Darkness

September 18, 1993

Jesus: ...Do not let others affect your moods at all. No one can alter the way you are filled with My light. Your light shines in the darkness if you do not let them affect you. You must stay very fixed to Me to do this. Look at them and pray for them. Pray for all you talk to. They need your prayers. They need My grace to wake them to My love. You are My preacher of love. My love is ever abounding. It is not for a few, or some. It extends to all My children. I love every little one. I want to reach all. I want to give each My unbounded love, as they reject Me Whom they do not see. You know what they do to you they do more to Me. Pray for My little ones your life touches. This is the most important thing you can do.

Your power radiates from within or it is squelched by the devil and does not radiate at all. I create an energy in you. Stay focused in Me. You are not affected by those around you. When I died on the cross, nothing they said or did affected the way I was. My light was fixed. It shone on them who nailed Me to the cross. It shone in the darkness and many were saved who watched Me. Let your light shine for all the world to see. It is I Who am your generator. Like the houses in Medjugorje, only the houses with generators lit up the night. Others were pitch black. When the generator kicked in, the lights shone so bright in the darkness. You shine more when you are surrounded by darkness if you stay fixed in Me. I shone brightly at My death. In such brutality My light shone as the brightest light. In the night you must shine. Many are living in darkness. You do not go there.

No one need to affect your behavior. You are rooted in Me. I generate a power in you. I am God and My power is very powerful. You must ward off Satan's weak pull. Others want to draw you into their darkness. Do not go there. Shine as the brightest star, shine in the night, shine as a beacon light. You saw darkness in Medjugorje. You know this concept. When it is dark, a light shines so bright.

Many of your brothers are in darkness. You must stay fixed in Me that your light shine bright as the light on the dark night. I give you this message, My lights of the world. Many lights light up the darkness and it shows in the dark night as if there is no darkness at all. Be the light to the darkness. Shine bright with a generator that is supplied by Me. Do not let your brothers pull you in. You remain in Me and you will never thirst. You will run and not get weary. You will fly on eagles' wings and your days will be joyous in the troubled world. Alleluia. I am your power.

                From the Apostles Manual

December 7, 1996 First Saturday -
Revelations on the Light

Isaiah 30: 19-26:

Yes, people of Zion living in Jerusalem,
you will weep no more.
He will be gracious to you when your cry for help rings out;
as soon as he hears it, he will answer you.
When the Lord has given you the bread of suffering
and the water of distress,
he who is your teacher will hide no longer,
and you will see your teacher with your own eyes.
Your ears will hear these words behind you,
'This is the way, keep to it,' whether you turn to right or left.
You will hold unclean the silverplating of your idols
and goldplating of your images.
You will throw them away like the polluted things they are,
shouting after them, 'Good riddance!'
He will send rain for the seed you sow in the ground,
and the bread that the ground provides will be rich and nourishing.
That day, your cattle will graze in wide pastures.
Oxen and donkeys that work the land
will eat for fodder wild sorrel,
spread by the shovel-load and fork-load.
On every lofty mountain, on every high hill
there will be streams and water-courses, on the day of the great slaughter
when the strongholds fall.
Then moonlight will be bright as sunlight
and sunlight itself be seven times brighter
-like the light of seven days in one-
on the day Yahweh dresses his people's wound
and heals the scars of the blows they have received."

Isaiah 40:1-8:

'Console my people, console them,'
says your God.
'Speak to the heart of Jerusalem
and cry to her
that her period of service is ended,
that her guilt has been atoned for,
that, from the hand of Yahweh, she has received
double punishment for all her sins.'
A voice cries, 'Prepare in the desert
a way for Yahweh.
Make a straight highway for our God
across the wastelands.
Let every valley be filled in,
every mountain and hill be levelled,
every cliff become a plateau,
every escarpment a plain;
then the glory of Yahweh will be revealed
and all humanity will see it together,
for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken.'
A voice said, 'Cry aloud!' and I said, 'What shall I cry?'
-'All humanity is grass
and all its beauty like the wild flower's.
The grass withers, the flower fades
when the breath of Yahweh blows on them.
(The grass is surely the people.)
The grass withers, the flower fades,
but the word of our God remains for ever.'

Song: A Voice Cries Out in the Wilderness

Adam and Eve are given great gifts and insights into God. They sin, the light of knowing God is dimmed because of their sin. They do not know God as they did before the sin.

Christ comes, He is the Light of the World. He dies, He gives Himself. He shares His life with us through sanctifying grace.

Through Baptism we receive this sharing in His divine life. The more He shares His life, the more we are saturated with His life, the more we know Him. He reveals Himself to us—we see the light.

The Kingdom of God is at hand. It is all here: the Mass, the Eucharist, God giving Himself.

To partake more in His life we must give ourselves to Him.

Mary appears to Bernadette. She tells her she is the "Immaculate Conception." We are sinners, but through Mary, the pure and sinless one, we can unite deeply in Him.

We are in darkness in varying degrees. The more we are saturated with His life, the more we see.

The reign of God is at hand. Since He came to the earth, everything is in place to see the light.

God is giving to us great graces to see the light now. He is lifting the veil.

There will be the era of peace.

Isaiah 30:26:
"Then moonlight will be bright as sunlight
and sunlight itself be seven times brighter
-like the light of seven days in one-..."

We see the darkness. As at night, we do not see the colorful leaves, they are there, we do not see them.

In the morning light, we see the glory of the beautiful day, the colorful leaves.

As the light steals across the sky, we see more and more. As the sun gradually comes up, we see more clearly the beauty of the leaves.

At first, our vision is not so clear because the light does not show in its deepest intensity. As the sun comes up we see more and more vividly until finally we see clearly the beauty of the colorful leaves.

Isaiah 30:26:
"Then moonlight will be bright as sunlight
and sunlight itself be seven times brighter
-like the light of seven days in one-..."

In a message to Fr. Carter on July 31, 1994, Jesus has promised us: "I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."

As stated above, the more we are saturated with his life, the more we are one in Him, the more clearly we see. It is in this union, in the depth of His Heart, that we receive such life, that we know Him with great clarity, that we are given this vision of God.

It is not with "eyes" that we see, but the illumination is in the knowing power that He gives to us. He reveals insights into the divine mysteries. We share most intimately with Him when we are one with Him in the Mass and after Communion. These are treasured moments in which He gives us a special sharing to know Him, our Divine Lover.

We see clearly when our hearts are hearts of love. We see vividly when our hearts are filled with love and peace. We were created to love, to love God and love each other.

Adam and Eve sinned. They lost the great gift given to them. The light of knowing God was dimmed because of their sin.

Christ comes into the world. He is the Word. He is the light of the world. He comes to save man from his sin. He comes in the womb of the Virgin Mary. Mary is the pure and sinless one. Jesus comes to pay the price for the sin of Adam and for our sins. We are all tainted by this sin of our first father and mother. Mary is the Immaculate and pure one, the highest human person. Divinity unites with humanity in the womb of Mary. They are one. Jesus is carried within the body of His mother. Such unity from the beginning, for His life is formed within her body. Is it surprising to us, then, if Christ comes within the womb of the Virgin Mary, that we too must go through Mary to unite to Him? Where is the pride in the hearts of men that think they do not have to go through their Mother Mary? If Christ comes in the womb of Mary to pay the price for man's sins, and we are tainted by the sin, in order to unite to the Almighty God who is all holy, we must go through the pure and sinless one.

Adam and Eve sinned. The Father sends His Son into the world to pay the price for man's sins. Jesus is the New Adam; Mary is the New Eve. Man continues to sin, greatly displeasing God. The Father allows Mary to appear to Bernadette at Lourdes as the Immaculate Conception, as having been conceived without original sin. The Father then allows Mary to appear to the children of Fatima as the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

We are sinners, we cannot unite closely to Him unless we go through Mary.

Mary is the pure and sinless one. We can unite deeply to Him. We are in darkness in varying degrees. The more we are saturated with His life, the more we see.

The reign of God is at hand. He came to the earth, He died, He rose on the third day. He gave to the Apostles the power to change bread and wine into His Body and Blood. He gave to them the power to forgive sins. He established His Church pouring forth from His pierced side. We do not see the great gifts that He has given to us. He is giving to us great insights into these gifts. God is giving to us great graces to see the light now. He is lifting the veil.

There will be an era of peace and all will see with such light as Isaiah speaks of in chapter 30, verse 26:

"Then moonlight will be bright as sunlight
and sunlight itself be seven times brighter
-like the light of seven days in one-..."

Jesus: I am calling you as a family. You will be joined in one heart, acting as My Heart beating in this world. All the apostles in the Shepherds of Christ Movement are joined in one Heart.

am_p180.gif (44585 bytes)

R. The core leaders will contact the coordinators. The coordinators will contact the individual apostles. All are apostles with a job directed by Jesus to do. Her peace plan was given at Fatima:

  1. Until a sufficient number of people have consecrated their hearts to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, we will not have peace in the world.
  2. Mary has requested all to pray the daily rosary.
  3. We must observe the Five First Saturday devotion:
    - Communion, confession (within 8 days before or after the Saturday), recital of the rosary, meditating for 15 minutes on the mysteries of the rosary. All this is to be done in spirit of reparation.
  4. We must make reparation to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

His plan centers around this.

We have heads functioning in the individual ministries. Everything we do leads to consecration of hearts. As the apostles press on the three institutions, the Church, family, and school to help spread the consecration, the strayed ones will be led home to His Heart.

Mary said at Fatima until a sufficient number of people have consecrated their hearts to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, we will not have peace in the world.

Peace will come when hearts are hearts of love. The scales must shift. It will happen through the consecration. Mary's peace plan: until a sufficient amount of people consecrate their hearts to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, we will not have peace.

am_p183.gif (16494 bytes)

The Father looks to the earth; He sees much darkness.

Image3.gif (1823 bytes)

The Father looks to the earth. There are few hearts fervently in love with God. The hearts of love light up the earth. It is as lights on a Christmas tree. It is sparsely lighted by a few hearts. Therefore, the tree looks dark.

Image4.gif (2641 bytes)

As the Shepherds of Christ Movement spreads (as well as other movements focused on spreading consecration to Their Hearts) the tree is covered with more hearts and the earth becomes more lighted.

The tree is covered with hearts consecrated to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. The tree is illuminated.

As the Shepherds of Christ apostles spread the consecration to the Church, the family, and the school, the tree is covered with lights and the earth is covered with the fire of His love.

The Father looks to the earth now. He is displeased with the hearts of men. The Father wants us to love God and love each other. He wants us to live according to His will in love.

Mary appears at Fatima. She tells us that we are offending God. She tells us what we must do. Mary's peace plan:

  1. Until a sufficient number of people have consecrated their hearts to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, we will not have peace in the world.
  2. Mary has requested all to pray the daily rosary.
  3. We must observe the First Saturday devotion.
  4. We must make reparation to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

Mary said there will be an era of peace, no matter what we do, in which the Sacred Heart of Jesus will reign and the Immaculate Heart of Mary will triumph.

Man disobeys, the devil blocks the Fatima message. World War II happens just as Mary said.

Mary appeared to me for 14 months daily. She gives us the same message as Fatima. Jesus and Mary give us God's Blue Book and Rosaries from the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. He writes His message of love on our hearts. His life lives in our hearts. The Scripture and the Mass live in our hearts.

In the Shepherds of Christ Movement, our focus is on the priest.

Sing: Jesus, Jesus, the Light of
                    the World

                Sing: Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

                Jesus: Rise Up Jerusalem your
                    Light has came —

                Darkness covers the earth,
                    but My Light will
                    shine in the darkness —

                Stay steadfast in Me and
                    do not close your
                    eyes —
                    lest you stumble
                    and fall and are not
                    counted among the righteous —

                Be vigilant —

                Light your path with My
                    Light —

                The proud rise up, but
                    they are soon cast
                    down in their arrogance —

Seek My life in you —

                Pay heed to Me —
                My troubled ones —
Pay heed and be counted among
the just - the righteous —

                R. Oh God turn Your ear to us —

                Sing: Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

                R. Oh God have mercy on us —

Oh God I cry to Thee day long —

Help us keep our feet on
                    solid ground lest
we fall into a pit —

Jesus: Oh My people pray for the
                    nations and shed the
                    Light I give you, that
                    men will live and be
                    just in their dealings —

                R. Light oh God my Path —

                Save me from adversity —

Oh God grant us Your mercy
help us — lest we dash our
                    foot against a stone —

Oh God come to our aid —
                    Make our enemies trip
                        around us —
Fight our battle for us —
                    Let our victories be
                        numerous —
our defeats O - for our
                        lives are lived in suffering,
in fighting, in winning for Thee

Jesus: Come unto Me all who are
                    heavily burdened —
I will give you rest —

                R. Oh God - Show us the path
                    of life —

                Guide me - God

                Song: Guiding Me

                R. Oh God let fear be far from
me and love be the song
                    of my soul —

Oh God stoop with Your hand
                    to me —

                    Let me embrace Your
                        hand in my littleness
                        on earth and
                        touch You —
                        know You —
                        serve You —
                        Love You

You, You, You are real —
                    You are God —

I praise You God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit

Show me the path that I
                    will walk in Your truth
                    and Your light —

Wash me of my sins —

Lift me up so I will not
                    stumble on my way and
                    move away from Thee —

Oh God, let the nations adore
                    You —

Oh God, let us walk steadfastly
on the path to You —

In the day of distress, rescue
                    me, lest I fall into
                    a pit of despair —

Oh God You are good and
                    forgiving - rescue me

Turn Your ear to me oh God —

                Sing: Save Us Oh Lord

Sing: Oh Lord Hear My Prayer

                R. God is Mighty —

God is the All Powerful love.

You, oh God, are my joy
You, oh God, are my delight —

                Oh God help me

                Sing: Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

                R. Most Holy Heart of Jesus, I love
                    You —

Oh God You are the fountain
                    of every blessing —

Make haste to help me —

                Sing: Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Sing: Glory and Praise to Our God

                R. Heart of Jesus, I adore
You - I adore and love
                    You - God

Sing: I Am the Bread of Life

                R. Oh God give us strength —

                Let Your light shine
                    on us —

Oh God - You are the living
                    God —

                Outpour Your grace —

Oh God teach us to choose
                    life —

                Sing: Choose Life —

                R. Oh God protect me from
                    harm —

Oh God help me to be
                    obedient to You —

                Sing: Our Father

The Our Father

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Leviticus 13: 1-2, 44-46

Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron, 'If a swelling or scab or spot appears on someone's skin, which could develop into a contagious skin-disease, that person must then be taken to the priest, either Aaron or one of his sons.

the person has such a disease: he is unclean. The priest will declare him unclean; he has a contagious skin-disease of the head.

The law governing cases of contagious skin-diseases

'Anyone with a contagious skin-disease will wear torn clothing and disordered hair; and will cover the upper lip and shout, "Unclean, unclean." As long as the disease lasts, such a person will be unclean and, being unclean, will live alone and live outside the camp.

Psalm 32:1-2, 5, 11

How blessed are those whose offence is forgiven,
   whose sin is blotted out.

How blessed are those to whom Yahweh imputes no guilt,
   whose spirit harbours no deceit.

I made my sin known to you,
   did not conceal my guilt.
I said, 'I shall confess
   my offence to Yahweh.'
And you, for your part, took away my guilt,
   forgave my sin.

Rejoice in Yahweh,
   exult all you upright,
shout for you, you honest of heart.

1 Corinthians 10:31 - 11:1

Whatever you eat, then, or drink, and whatever else you do, do it all for the glory of God. Never be a cause of offence, either to Jews or to Greeks or to the Church of God, just as I try to accomodate everybody in everything, not looking for my own advantage of everybody else, so that they may be saved.

Take me as your pattern, just as I take Christ for mine.

Mark 1: 40-45

A man suffering from a virulent skin-disease came to him and pleaded on his knees saying, 'If you are willing, you can cleanse me.' Feeling sorry for him, Jesus stretched out his hand, touched him and said to him, 'I am willing. Be cleansed.' And at once the skin-disease left him and he was cleansed.  And at once Jesus sternly sent him away and said to him, 'Mind you tell no one anything, but go and show yourself to the priest, and make the offering for your  cleansing prescribed by Moses as evidence to them.' The man went away, but started freely proclaiming and telling the story everywhere, so that Jesus could no longer go openly into any town, but stayed outside in deserted places.  Even so, people from all around kept coming to him.

6th Sunday in Ordinary Time

February 13, 2000

INTRODUCTION – (Lv 13:1-2, 44-46; 1 Cor 10:31-11:1; Mark 1:40-45) One of the jobs of priests in the Old Testament was to act like a dermatologist and decide whether a person with a certain skin disease could be contagious. Whatever the disease was, if it was judged contagious it was called leprosy. The disease we hear about in today’s first reading appears to be something like ringworm. If it was decided a person had leprosy, the diseased person was suddenly homeless, without job or family. He or she had to live outside the city, could not associate with relatives or friends, they had to warn people when they were approaching, their home was tombs or caves and they made their living by begging from those traveling to or from the city or town. It would be a horrible sentence to have to condemn someone to. On the other hand, if the priest made the wrong decision and left the person stay around, he could jeopardize the health of the whole community. I’m glad I wasn’t a priest way back then. For two chapters the book of Leviticus lays out rules on how to deal with leprosy. Today’s first reading is a small section from this part of Leviticus. The rules were harsh, but in those primitive times they were necessary for the survival of the community. This reading is meant to prepare us for the gospel where we see that the power of Jesus and his love deals with sickness in a different way. He reaches out to the isolated and sick person and restores both their health and their ability to be reinstated in community. It is something of an irony that he ends up isolating himself because people gave him no rest.

HOMILY – This story comes from Chicken Soup for the Soul. It was a bitter cold evening in northern Virginia many years ago. An old man stood by a shallow river waiting for someone to come along who could give him a ride across the river. There was no footpath. As he waited, half frozen, along came several riders galloping toward him. He let the first one go by without an effort to get his attention. Then another passed by, then another. Finally, as the last one approached, the old man caught the rider’s eye and said, “Sir, would you mind giving an old man a ride to the other side? There’s no passage way by foot.” Reining his horse, the rider replied, “Sure. Hop aboard.” Seeing the old man was too cold and stiff to climb up on the horse, the horseman dismounted and helped the old man up. The rider took the old man not just across the river, but to the old man’s home, which was just a few miles away. As they neared his tiny cottage, the rider’s curiosity caused him to inquire, “Sir, I noticed that you let several other riders pass by without making an effort to secure a ride. Why did you let all the others pass you by and wait for me to ask me to take you across? What if I had refused and just left you standing there?” As the old man lowered himself down from the horse, he looked the rider in the eye and replied, “I’ve been around these here parts for some time. I reckon I know people pretty well. I looked into the eyes of the other riders and immediately saw they had no concern for my situation. It would have been useless to even ask them for a ride. When I looked into your eyes, kindness and compassion were there. I knew you would be willing to help me.” The rider replied, “Thank you for your kind words. I hope I’m never too busy that I fail to respond to the needs of others with kindness and compassion.” With that, Thomas Jefferson turned his horse around and made his way back to the White House.

Thomas Jefferson is getting some nasty press these days. I thought it would be refreshing to hear something positive about him. I thought this would be a good story for Valentine’s day too. There are lots of ways to show love, and most of the love that this world is in need of is not the romantic sort, despite the media’s preoccupation with just this one kind.

Today at Mass we celebrate a love that reaches out to us, a love that is infinite, a love that was willing to come down, not from a horse, but from his throne on high as Son of God and put on the weakness of our human flesh, a love that was powerful enough to heal the sick and raise the dead, a love that restored to a poor leper not only his health, but his home and his family and in so doing he made himself unclean by Jewish law because he touched a leper and made himself unable to mingle with others because he was so much in demand. His is a love that was willing to give everything to those he loved, even his own life. But the good news is that the evil powers that took his life did not succeed in the end, for the gift of his life brought about resurrected life for all who believe in him. His love was too powerful to be crushed. And in his love he continues to give himself as food and drink for those who believe in him; not just any food and drink but a food and drink that will give eternal life.

Today we come to the origin and source of all love with our own failures and sins that get in the way of our own ability to love. With the pain we have caused and with the scars from wounds inflicted on us, we ask for healing. Wherever we need healing, in our bodies, in our hearts, in our ability to be more loving toward others, we ask the Lord to reach out and touch us and say to us “be healed.”

Guiding Light - Reflect on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light homily series - Reflect on the Word - Cycle B     The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $15

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light homily series - Steadfast to the Son - Cycle A    The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Liturgical Year
$ 10.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul - Cycle C    In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word - Cycle B    At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15

Guiding Light - The Word Alive in Our Hearts
Inspiring Homilies covering partial year of Cycle A by Fr. Joe Robinson
$ 10.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - The Word Alive in Our Hearts. - Cycle A (partial)    Homilies by the Reverend Joe Robinson given at St. Boniface Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a tremendous honor Fr. Audio CD - Read by Father Edward J. Carter
$ 10.00  plus postage

Priestly Newsletter - 2000 #1 - CD. - Christ is Our Strength - Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our-selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10

Priestly Newsletter - 2000 #2 - CD. - Suffering: A Source of Life - Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. Fr. Carter knew suffering that year. His voice is so powerful as he read each Newsletter from his heart and soul. "Every man has his own share in the redemption. Each one is also called to share in that suffering through which the redemption was accomplished. He is called to share in that suffering through which all human suffering has also been redeemed. In bringing about the redemption through suffering, Christ has also raised human suffering to the level of the redemption. Thus each man in his suffering can also become a sharer in the redemptive suffering of Christ..." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10
