                R. Being in one mind and one heart with the Heart
                of Jesus —

                    Man was molded out of clay —
                    Clay is formed — molded — is workable
                    A work in progress —
                    Man made from mud —
                    Man molded to the beauty he can be —
                    Man made in the image and likeness of God --
                    Or he can choose the darkness —

                The key is man's will attuned to God will help him be beautiful —

                Man being one in God's will

 

Genesis 2: 4-9, 15-17

   Such was the story of heaven and earth as they were created.

At the time when Yahweh God made earth and heaven there was as yet no wild bush on the earth nor had any wild plant yet sprung up, for Yahweh God had not sent rain on the earth, nor was there any man to till the soil. Instead, water flowed out of the ground and watered all the surface of the soil. Yahweh God shaped man from the soil of the ground and blew the breath of life into his nostrils, and man became a living being.
    Yahweh God planted a garden in Eden, which is in the east, and there he put the man he had fashioned. From the soil, Yahweh God caused to grow every kind of tree, enticing to look at and good to eat, with the tree of life in the middle of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Yahweh God took the man and settled him in the garden of Eden to cultivate and take care of it. Then Yahweh God gave the man this command, ‘You are free to eat of all the trees in the garden. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you are not to eat; for, the day you eat of that, you are doomed to die.’

 

Psalm 104: 1-2, 27-30

Bless Yahweh, my soul, 
Yahweh, my God, how great you are! 
Clothed in majesty and splendour,
wearing the light as a robe! 

You stretch out the heavens like a tent,

They all depend upon you,
to feed them when they need it.
You provide the food they gather,
your open hand gives them their fill.

Turn away your face and they panic; 
take back their breath and they die 
and revert to dust. 
Send out your breath and life begins; 
you renew the face of the earth. 

                 

Mark 7: 14-23

He called the people to him again and said, 'Listen to me, all of you, and understand. Nothing that goes into someone from outside can make that person unclean; it is the things that come out of someone that make that person unclean. Anyone who has ears for listening should listen!'

     When he had gone into the house, away from the crowd, his disciples questioned him about the parable. He said to them, 'Even you-don't you understand? Can't you see that nothing that goes into someone from outside can make that person unclean, because it goes not into the heart but into the stomach and passes into the sewer?' (Thus he pronounced all foods clean.) And he went on, 'It is what comes out of someone that makes that person unclean. For it is from within, from the heart, that evil intentions emerge: fornication, theft, murder, adultery, avarice, malice, deceit, indecency, envy, slander, pride, folly. All these evil things come from within and make a person unclean.'

   

                R. The 1st reading is called the second creation account —
                    1st account is transcendent —
                        Let there be ...
                        Let there be ...

                God gives a man - clay - and He breathes in it —
                    boundary that God set —
                    not eat of tree of knowledge of good and evil —
                    man ate from tree —

                Adam and Eve had a choice —
                Following God or not
                Making his own rules —
                Rebellion to rules God gave to them —

                The Gospel
                    Jesus declared all foods clean —
                    What comes out of man defiles a man —

                Interesting reading —
                    because Adam and Eve did eat the wrong thing —
                    more symbolic — disobedience to God —

                We come to eat the Body and Blood of Jesus that gives us life

                From the heart to want the good of another
                From the heart to love —
                Living in love in the Father's family -- by His rules

                Jesus who did the Father's will to His death on the cross —
                Jesus — the Eucharist raised!!
                Be one in the Heart of Jesus
                Jesus pure and holy in Heart
                The Eucharist bread of life

                Saints did God's will
                Doing God's will brings peace — unity

    

The Our Father

    Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

   

                R. From the heart to be selfish —
                From the heart to wish bad on the other —
                From the heart evil tainted —
                From the heart rebellious to God's rule of love
                From the heart not doing good to others
                Not being defiled — envy, pride, jealousy,
                    punishing others

                Levels how man does God's will
                Happy those who seek what is right
                    they will be satisfied
                Fr. Carter did God's will
                Fr. Carter wanted God's will
                Fr. Carter loved God's will
                Fr. Carter took a vow of obedience to his superiors,
                                                to his vocation as a Jesuit.

                Fr. Carter lived God's will —
                Fr. Carter dwelt in the Heart of Christ
                Fr. Carter wanted to be one in the Heart of Christ

                Sing: Give Me Your Heart oh Jesus —

                R. It was an act of the will for Eve to give into satan —
                    We all suffered —
                    We have disease and death
                    We suffer now because Adam and Eve disobeyed God —

                I have watched this obedience — disobedience —
                In an order — one takes vows
                    poverty, chastity, obedience —

                In marriage one enters a commitment with
                    their partner and God — not to be unfaithful
                    to the marriage vow —

                But in religious life — one vows to God to be obedient —
                    The priest to their Bishop
                    A religious to their superior

                In heaven there is perfect obedience to the will
                    of God —

                God gave Adam and Eve a command to follow —
                    Eve did her own will
                    Adam did his own will

                We are like clay — being formed more and more to be
                    in the image of Jesus —

                Mary conceived the child Jesus in her womb
                    through the power of the Holy Spirit —

                Jesus was formed in Mary's womb —
    

 

                R. Mary's Immaculate Heart is her spiritual womb —
                    Mary is the New Eve —
                    Mary is the perfect handmaid of the Lord

                Jesus has called Handmaids of the Good Shepherd

 

                A person can be so pressed on by satan and give in to him
                    with constant disobedience to God's will —
                    they grow more and more blinded and
                    they can see strongly their will opposed to God and
                    they become instruments doing satan's work

                    I.E. Two Camps of St. Ignatius

                    I.E. Adam and Eve sinned —
                        They disobeyed —
                        God was intimate with them —
                        They did their will and disobeyed God's will —

                We human creatures all have original sin
                    except for Mary who was conceived without
                    sin —

                God gave Adam and Eve a boundary — not to eat
                    of a particular tree in the Garden of Eden —

                Adam and Eve were restricted by God —
                    but Eve was lied to by the devil —
                        Eve was tempted by the devil —
                    despite all the gifts God gave her — she gave
                        into the temptation —

                A married man and woman are committed —
                    they are not to be unfaithful —
                    they can live that vow —
                        never look at another of the opposite
                        sex with flirtatious manner —
                        never defile the marriage contract —

                    They can take their commitment so seriously —

                Fr. Carter took his vows — so seriously
                    He wanted God's will —

                He restricted himself in doing God's will with
                    joy

                He was under his superiors
                He was under God —
                He wanted only God's will —
                He wanted to dwell in peace in the
                    Hearts of Jesus and Mary

                A person in a marriage, in religious life that
                    does not take their commitment seriously
                    is always - straddling the fence —

                Will I obey?
                Will I disobey?

                The acts of some who disobey authority can grow
                    to greater and greater secrecy as they get
                    a thrill out of toying with excitement
                    of being secret —
                    of being disobedient —
                    of getting power - over —

                The rebelliousness of the world - show us - the
                    weakening of commitment —
                    the lack of obedience to authority —

                But God gives us commands to obey Him —
                    He tells us we are to love God and neighbor —
                    We are to not wish harm to any person —

                We see the degree of men's impure hearts whipping
                    Jesus at the pillar —
                    laughing at Jesus —

                A person can seek a place of power over
                    those over them and get a thrill out
                    of disobedience, of secrets, of
                    being empowered —

                A person, like Adam and Eve — do not want anyone
                    over them —
                    so they do what they want —

                And God shows us He punished their sin for offending Him —
                Sin — Punishment — Adam and Eve lost the gifts God gave them —

                But to get to heaven — we are to love and serve the Lord —
                We are clay being molded —
                We are to want obedience like Fr. Carter
                Living in one mind and one heart in the Heart of Jesus —
                Doing the will of God —

                Heaven is a reward promised to those who love and
                    serve the Lord —

                There is perfect obedience in heaven —

                In Genesis when they sinned

   

Genesis 3: 19

   By the sweat of your face
   will you earn your food,
   until you return to the ground,
   as you were taken from it.
   For dust you are
   and to dust you shall return.’

    

                R. We are subject to death —
                We are here on a journey to be molded more and
                    more in the image of God — 

                R. We see in the Gospel that God tells us that
                    what is inside, in the heart defiles
                    the man —

                When our body is cold — we want to warm it up —

                When hearts are blinded by anger and discord,
                    argumentativeness, unforgiveness, our
                    hearts can be ICE COLD — like stone —

                Jesus: Let no deception in you defile
                    you —
                    reaching to prove you are right over those
                        who are over you — for satan is
                        at work in this temptation —

                    Satan blinds you to see right as wrong and
                        wrong as right —
                        then the combat begins — not meek like
                        My Heart —

                    As abuse goes we see the men who beat Me and
                        laughed —
                        they tore My flesh —
                        I, the Son of God, was beaten by human
                            creatures — laughing —

                    You are to wish only good, justice for your brothers —
                    The devil wants division —
                    A house divided against itself will not stand —

                I gave you My letters of love —
                That satan will not try to deceive you —

                But he comes like a wolf in sheep's clothing
                    to devour you —

                Remember Little Red Riding Hood —
                The wolf dressed up like her grandma —

                Being more and more secretive over authority —
                    leads to more and more secrets —
                    some get a rise out of watching those
                    over them fall —

                Wishing harm, provoking others to anger is
                    sinful — It is up to Me to try the
                    man —
                    As you measure
                    So shall you be measured —

                For what goes around in vindictiveness will
                    come to roost on judgment day —

                I have called you to a vocation —

                The devil wants men steeped in pride and
                    wanting to be superior —

                Seek and you shall find —
                Knock and it will be opened to you —
                Ask and I will give you from the bounty
                    of My Heart —

                Live to put on Christ —

                In all you do let your will be aligned
                    with Christ —

                Have no taint of unforgiveness in your heart —
                Let love rule your heart —
                Unforgiveness makes hard hearts —

                Living to prove you are right over authority
                    puts you in the combat mode —
                    You have started a war in your own heart —
                    Satan wants a grip on the heart that is
                        paralyzing and crippling —

                In a group
                    satan pressed personally on two men —
                    they would only see their battle and
                    the building they had built became a
                        thrashing ground for their personal
                        angry grip of proving they were
                        right and others wrong —

                They wanted the system to fail — the whole
                    family go under, so they would
                    be seen as being right —

                Anger and self righteousness blinded and consumed
                    them —

                The desire to prove they were right —
                Left the seat of real righteousness empty —
                For I am the way, the truth and the life —

                But from a hard heart the paradox of working
                    in unity according to God's will in love
                    had no room —

                It was only to show they were 'tops' —
                The children suffered —
                The men who went before in love sacrificing
                    had no room in their heart of self-righteousness
                    and retaliation —

                The Church is a pilgrim Church —
                    made up of imperfect people —
                    sinners —

                To the man who can throw the first stone
                    because he sees himself as perfect —
                    he has a stone to throw that
                    tears down his own house —

                Defilement is from within the heart —

                I am love —
                I call you to love —

                    You were created in My image and likeness —
                There are as many different hearts as faces —

                As one is filled more with pride and envy —
                    they distance themselves from Me —
                    their efforts to be right can be their god —
                    Seeking power for dominance sake —

                Seek a place in My Heart —
                To enter you must bend the stubborn heart
                    and will and choose love at the
                    root of your life lived for the
                    honor and glory of God —

                To let go of anger that keeps you from working
                    for a solution based on God's will —
                    not your will opposed to God's will —

                A man had a big log in his eye —
                He could not see and
                In his anger he wanted retaliation for his
                    suffering —

                I was whipped for your selfish pride —

                My flesh flew in the air

                I hung on the cross with a crown of
                    thorns for your pride and failure
                    to work with others —

                I am a God of justice

                Song: I Am a God of Justice

                Jesus: In heaven there is perfect oneness —
                You are free of unforgiveness
                You are one and holy —

                My Heart is as I write in the Blue Books —
                You are to work to restore unity —

                Look at how I suffered so
                    you could have life —

                Death/Resurrection —

                I showed you the way —

                Some don't want suffering —

                They are self righteous
