I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace to confess my sins, to do penance and to amend my life. Amen."

Holy Spirit Novena

Daily Novena Prayers

Opening Prayer

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Dear Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus, in union with Him in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in the Holy Spirit. We come to You united to the Child Jesus of Good Health and the Infant of Prague. We come to You in the perfect, sinless heart of Our Mother Mary, asking her powerful intercession, uniting ourselves to her holy tears. We come to You united to all the angels and saints, and the souls in purgatory.

Prayer for Holy Spirit

We pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on us, to be baptized by the Holy Spirit, that He will descend mightily on us as He did on the Apostles at Pentecost. That the Holy Spirit will transform us from fear to fearlessness and that He will give us courage to do all the Father is asking of us to help bring about the Reign of the Sacred Heart and the triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart. We pray for the Holy Spirit to descend mightily on the Jesuits and the Poor Clares on the Shepherds of Christ leaders and members and on the whole Body of Christ and the world.

Protection by the Blood of Jesus

We pray that the Blood of Jesus will be spread on us, everyone in our families, and the Shepherds of Christ Movement, that we will be able to move steadfastly ahead and be protected from the evil one.

Healing

We pray for healing in body, mind, and soul and generational healing in ourselves, in all members in our families, and in all members of the Shepherds of Christ Movement, the Jesuit Community, the Poor Clares, the Body of Christ, and the world.

Prayer for Strength and Light

We adore You, oh Holy Spirit. Give us strength, give us light, console us. We give ourselves entirely to You. Oh Spirit of light and grace, we want to only do the will of the Father. Enlighten us that we may live always in the Father's will.

Eternal Spirit fill us with Your Divine Wisdom that we may comprehend more fully insight into Your Divine Mysteries.

Give us lights, Oh Holy Spirit that we may know God. Work within the heart, the spiritual womb of the Virgin Mary, to form us more and more into the image of Jesus.

Prayer to Be One with God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit

We long for You, Oh Spirit of Light, we long to know God, we want to be one with Him, our Divine God. We want to be one with the Father, know Him as a Person most intimately. We want to know the beloved One, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and live and dwell in Him at all times, every moment of our lives. We want to be one with You, Oh Spirit of Light, that You move in us in our every breath.

Prayer to Be One in Jesus

Let us experience life in the Sacred Heart of Jesus, so we can say as Saint Paul, "I have been crucified with Christ and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me...." Let us live, united to the Mass, all through the day being one in Him. Let us be able to love and know in this elevated state of oneness with our God. We long for Thee, oh beauteous God, we love You, we love You, we love You. We praise You, worship You, honor You, adore You, and thank You, our beloved God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Prayer to Dwell in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary

We seek to be one in God, to live and dwell in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, our little heaven on earth, to experience life in the all perfect, pure, sinless heart of our Mother. We want the Holy Spirit to move in us and to be united to Jesus as the Bridegroom of our souls and be a most perfect sacrifice offered to the Father at every moment as we unite in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass around the world to help in the salvation of souls.

Prayer for the Holy Spirit and His Gifts

Come Holy Spirit, come, come into our hearts, inflame all people with the fire of Your love.

Leader: Send forth Your Spirit and all will be reborn.
All:  And You will renew the face of the earth.

We pray for the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, we ask for perfection in our souls to make us holy, holy souls likened to God.

Dear Holy Spirit, we give ourselves to You soul and body. We ask You to give us the Spirit of Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord.

Prayer for the Word Alive in Our Hearts

We know, dear Holy Spirit, the Word in His human nature was brought forth within the womb of the woman. We pray that His word will be brought forth in our hearts as He lives and dwells in us. We want the incarnation to go on in our lives. Dear Holy Spirit, work in us.

Little Prayers to the Holy Spirit

Dear Holy Spirit, help us not to be ignorant or indifferent or weak, help us to be strong with the love of God.

Dear Holy Spirit, please pray for our needs for us.

Dear Holy Spirit, help us to respect God and to avoid sin. Help us to live in the Father's will.

Dear Holy Spirit, help us to keep Your commandments and to respect authority. Help us to love all things as You will us to love them. Help us to want to pray and always serve God with the greatest love. Help us to know the truth. Help us to have the gift of faith, hope, and love. Help us to know what is right and what is wrong.

A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul

Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.    end of excerpt

Morning Offering

My dear Father, I offer You this day all my prayers, works, joys and sufferings, my every breath, my every heartbeat, my every thought, all my actions, in union with Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in the Holy Spirit. I pray the Holy Spirit is with me every second today, enlightening me to do the Will of the Father and filling me with the fire of God's love.

I ask Jesus and Mary to be one in me in all that I do and I unite with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory to pray continually to the Father for these intercessions, in this prayer, for this day.

For myself, I pray for grace-abundant grace, to know and love God more and more and to follow the Will of the Father. I pray to the Holy Spirit to transform me in the heart of Mary to be more and more like Jesus. I pray that I can forever dwell in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. I pray for conversion of all those I hold dear who need conversion. I pray for each member of my family that they will be filled with Your abundant grace to grow in their knowledge and love of God.

I pray for all my friends that they will receive abundant grace to carry out the great plan of the Father, that they will grow forever closer to Jesus' Heart through Mary's heart, that we will all be led by the Holy Spirit to do His work, that we will, together, carry out the plan of the Father as He intends us to, to spread the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary's heart to this world.

Jesus, I pray for myself so the Holy Spirit descends upon me and opens my heart to Your love so I will grow more and more deeply in union with You. I pray that I do not worry what other people think but try always to please the Father and do His Will. I pray that I may help lead many to Your burning love.

I pray for the following people in particular that they will be filled with the Spirit and grow deeply in their union with You, that they will receive abundant graces to know, love and serve You more. (Include special friends by name...)

I pray for priests the world over, for the success of the Priestly Newsletter, the Chapters and for the finances needed for the Newsletter. I pray for the circulation of the Blue Book messages, rosary meditations and tapes. I pray for all those involved in the publication of these messages.

I pray that You will shower Your abundant graces onto the priests reading the Newsletter the people reading and hearing the Blue Book messages and rosary meditations and all of Fr. Carter's publications.

We pray for the intentions we hold deep within our hearts, for our families and friends, for those requesting our prayers. We pray for children the world over and for the souls in purgatory. We ask God to shower His abundant grace on us and the members of our Shepherds of Christ Chapter so that we may grow more and more in our knowledge and love of God.

We consecrate ourselves to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. We pray for Father Carter, for Father Smith, for Rita Ring, and for John Weickert, for all leaders and helpers in the Shepherds of Christ Movement, for Shepherds of Christ Ministries, and Our Lady of Light Ministry. We pray for all those who are working in these ministries.

We bind ourselves and our children and our friends to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We place the precious blood of Jesus on ourselves, and all we touch, so that we will be protected from the evil one. We pray to St. Michael to cast the devil into hell.

We love You, God, we love You, we love You. We beg that we may receive the grace to love You more and more deeply. We adore You, we praise You, our beloved Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

“This is My Body, This is My Blood.”

Prayer Before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

Let me be a holy sacrifice and unite with God in the sacrament of His greatest love.

I want to be one in Him in this act of love, where He gives Himself to me and I give myself as a sacrifice to Him. Let me be a holy sacrifice as I become one with Him in this my act of greatest love to Him.

Let me unite with Him more, that I may more deeply love Him. May I help make reparation to His adorable Heart and the heart of His Mother, Mary. With greatest love, I offer myself to You and pray that You will accept my sacrifice of greatest love. I give myself to You and unite in Your gift of Yourself to me. Come and possess my soul.

Cleanse me, strengthen me, heal me. Dear Holy Spirit act in the heart of Mary to make me more and more like Jesus.

Father, I offer this my sacrifice, myself united to Jesus in the Holy Spirit to You. Help me to love God more deeply in this act of my greatest love.

Give me the grace to grow in my knowledge, love and service of You and for this to be my greatest participation in the Mass. Give me the greatest graces to love You so deeply in this Mass, You who are so worthy of my love.

Mass Book, December 27, 1995

My dear beloved priests,

I give my heart to Jesus and Mary with you in love.

We want Adoration Chapels around the world.

From Fr. Edward Carter, S.J., 1996 –

The Eucharist is the Bread of Life –

Apostles of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus

There is a new prayer movement which has been started under the direction of Shepherds of Christ Ministries. We are asking for volunteers who are willing to pray before the Blessed Sacrament for one hour, twice-weekly. Members of the Shepherds of Christ prayer chapters, as well as others, are to be invited to join this movement.

These apostles are to pray for the intentions given.

For part of the hour they are to use the prayers of the Shepherds of Christ Associates Handbook. They may spend the rest of the hour as they so choose.

This new prayer movement within the Shepherds of Christ Ministries is a powerful way to help in the renewal of the Church and the world. The name, Apostles of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, has been given to this movement.

Rita Ring is the coordinator for this activity.

This is indeed a special calling for us to unite in one heart with His Eucharistic Heart and pray for the following intentions:

    1. For the spread of the devotion to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary culminating in the reign of the Sacred Heart and the triumph of the Immaculate Heart.
    2. For the Pope.
    3. For all bishops of the world.
    4. For all priests.
    5. For all sisters and brothers in the religiouslife.
    6. For all members of the Shepherds of Christ Movement, and for the spread of this movement to the world.
    7. For all members of the Catholic Church.
    8. For all members of the human family.
    9. For all souls in purgatory.

We have prayer chapters praying for the priests, the Church and the world in 9 languages –
    all over the world –
Giving great devotion to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart –

Please pray these prayers for the priests, the Church and the world –

Be an Apostle of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus –
Pray these prayers and the rosary before the Blessed Sacrament 2 hours a week for the following intentions:

Only God’s grace can help us.

We must give our lives doing the Father’s will – loving God and our neighbor united to the Masses going on around the world.

I see Fr. Carter, SJ. when he did his doctorate on the Sacred Heart outlined much of what he said Jesus told him to do in the Shepherds of Christ in circulating over 17,000,000 Priestly Newsletters, loose and in books, to priests and hierarchy in these 19 years we have existed.

We give you Fr. Joseph Robinson’s homilies. Fr. Joe is my brother. This is his 7th book now. Last year we circulated his book to the Pope and all the Cardinals in the world and all the priests and Bishops of the United States. (over 32,000 received Fr. Joe’s book last year, Cycle C – Centered in Christ) His book is centered on the bread of life – on the Word and the Eucharist.

John 11:25

I am the resurrection and the life.

    Response in Christ

Included in this book are the Shepherds of Christ Prayers, also in the trifold brochure, (available in different languages) for the priests, the Church and the world in 9 languages with the Church’s Imprimatur.

Mary said at Fatima until a sufficient number of people have consecrated their hearts to Jesus and Mary we won’t have peace in the world. Mary said at Fatima: Bishops need to consecrate their dioceses to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart – putting pictures of Jesus, the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in their homes, businesses, Churches where Jesus is the King and Center of their hearts.

Shepherds of Christ Associates

Prayer Manual

Chapter Meeting Prayer Format

The prayer format below should be followed at chapter meetings of Shepherds of Christ Associates. All prayers, not just those said specifically for priests, should include the intention of praying for all the needs of priests the world over.

1. Hymns. Hymns may be sung at any point of the prayer part of the meeting.

2. Holy Spirit Prayer. Come, Holy Spirit, almighty Sanctifier, God of love, who filled the Virgin Mary with grace, who wonderfully changed the hearts of the apostles, who endowed all Your martyrs with miraculous courage, come and sanctify us. Enlighten our minds, strengthen our wills, purify our consciences, rectify our judgment, set our hearts on fire, and preserve us from the misfortunes of resisting Your inspirations. Amen.

3. The Rosary.

4. Salve Regina. "Hail Holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To you do we send up our sighs, our mourning, our weeping in this vale of tears. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus, O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary."

5. The Memorare. "Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but, in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen."

6. Seven Hail Marys in honor of the Seven Sorrows of Mary. Mary has promised very special graces to those who do this on a daily basis. Included in the promises of Our Lady for those who practice this devotion is her pledge to give special assistance at the hour of death, including the sight of her face. The seven sorrows are:

(1) The first sorrow: the prophecy of Simeon (Hail Mary).

(2) The second sorrow: the flight into Egypt (Hail Mary).

(3) The third sorrow: the loss of the Child Jesus in the temple (Hail Mary).

(4) The fourth sorrow: Jesus and Mary meet on the way to the cross (Hail Mary).

(5) The fifth sorrow: Jesus dies on the cross (Hail Mary).

(6) The sixth sorrow: Jesus is taken down from the cross and laid in Mary's arms (Hail Mary).

(7) The seventh sorrow: the burial of Jesus (Hail Mary).

7. Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, hear us. Christ, graciously hear us.
God, the Father of heaven, have mercy on us.
God, the Son, Redeemer of the world, have mercy on us.
God, the Holy Spirit, have mercy on us.
Holy Trinity, one God, have mercy on us.

Holy Mary, pray for us (repeat after each invocation).

Introduction to Blue Book 15

Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.

Founder of Shepherds of Christ - Rita’s Spiritual Director
Rita Ring, Co-founder of Shepherds of Christ

Excerpt from Response in Christ - Chapter 4 by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.

In schematic outline we have discussed the manner in which the baptized Christian extends his Mass to his daily existence. As he so lives out his Mass, he is becoming more Christ-like. He becomes a more perfect priest and victim for his next participation in the eucharistic sacrifice.42 The beautiful cycle which the Mass contains lies exposed before us. As part of this cycle the Christian is intimately involved in the process of continued redemption. The Mass is the center of the Christian life: “. . . the liturgy is the summit toward which the activity of the Church is directed; at the same time it is the fount from which all her power flows.” 43

Jesus: I call you to live your lives as devout members of the mystical body of Christ. I have given these writings that men will realize that they are to live united deeply to the Mass going on around the world. Your lives, given as an offering, a sacrifice every moment in union with the Mass going on around the world. Your life, a sacrifice, offered to the Father, in union with the Mass in oneness with Me, in the Holy Spirit through the intercession of the Blessed Mother with all the angels and saints and the souls in purgatory.

Your lives given as members of My mystical body can help to bring down great graces for the priest, the Church and the world.

The Mass is the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present.

The Eucharist

• The death-resurrection of Jesus, which is encountered in a special way through the sacraments, is most especially renewed in the Eucharistic Sacrifice. Consequently, we can see the logical connection between the sacraments and the Mass. Indeed, all of the sacraments point to the Eucharistic Sacrifice.

At the Last Supper, on the night He was betrayed, our Saviour instituted the Eucharistic Sacrifice of His Body and Blood. He did this in order to perpetuate the sacrifice of the Cross throughout the centuries until He should come again, and so to entrust to His beloved spouse, the Church, a memorial of His death and resurrection: a sacrament of love, a sign of unity, a bond of charity, a paschal banquet in which Christ is consumed, the mind is filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory is given to us (Vatican II, Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, No. 17)26

The Church, therefore, earnestly desires that Christ’s faithful, when present at this mystery of faith, should not be there as strangers or silent spectators. On the contrary, through a proper appreciation of the rites and prayers they should participate knowingly, devoutly, and actively. They should be instructed by God’s word and be refreshed at the table of the Lord’s body; they should give thanks to God; by offering the Immaculate Victim, not only through the hands of the priest, but also with him, they should learn to offer themselves too. Through Christ the Mediator, they should be drawn day by day into ever closer union with God and with each other, so that finally God may be all in all. (Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, No. 48) 27

Through the Eucharistic Sacrifice Christ the Lord desired to set before us in a very special way this remarkable union whereby we are united one with another and with our divine Head, a union that no word of praise can ever sufficiently express. For in this sacrifice the sacred ministers act not only as the representative of our Saviour, but as the representative of the whole Mystical Body and of each one of the faithful. Again, in this act of sacrifice, the faithful of Christ, united by the common bond of devotion and prayer, offer to the eternal Father through the hands of the priest, whose prayer alone has made it present on the altar, the Immaculate Lamb, the most acceptable victim of praise and propitiation for the Church’s universal need. Moreover, just as the divine Redeemer, while dying on the Cross, offered Himself to the eternal Father as Head of the whole human race, so now, ‘in this clean oblation’ He not only offers Himself as Head of the Church to His heavenly Father but in Himself His mystical members as well. He embraces them all, yes, even the weaker and more ailing members, with the deepest love of His Heart. (Pope Pius XII, Mystici Corporis AAS, XXXV, 232-233)28

• Pope John Paul II states: “This worship, given therefore to the Trinity of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, above all accompanies and permeates the celebration of the Eucharistic Liturgy. But it must fill our churches also outside the timetable of Masses. Indeed, since the Eucharistic Mystery was instituted out of love, and makes Christ sacramentally present, it is worthy of thanksgiving and worship. And this worship must be prominent in all our encounters with the Blessed Sacrament, both when we visit our churches and when the sacred species are taken to the sick and administered to them.

“Adoration of Christ in this sacrament of love must also find expression in various forms of Eucharistic devotion: personal prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, Hours of Adoration, periods of exposition — short, prolonged and annual (Forty Hours) - Eucharistic benediction, Eucharistic processions, Eucharistic congresses. A particular mention should be made at this point of the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ as an act of public worship rendered to Christ present in the Eucharist, a feast instituted by my predecessor Urban IV in memory of the institution of this great Mystery.

“All this therefore corresponds to the general principles and particular norms already long in existence, but newly formulated during or after the Second Vatican Council.

“…The Church and the world have a great need of Eucharistic worship. Jesus waits for us in this sacrament of love. Let us be generous with our time in going to meet Him in adoration and in contemplation that is full of faith and ready to make reparation for the great faults and crimes of the world. May our adoration never cease.”29

• The following words of Fr. M. Raymond, O.C.S.O., emphasize the great importance regarding personal holiness and one’s participation in the Mass: “Mass, insomuch as it is Christ’s offering, is not only always acceptable to God, but is of infinite value as well.

“But, inasmuch as it is your offering and mine, and that of every other member of the Mystical Body ... we can limit the effectiveness of God’s great Act of Love; we finite beings can set bounds to the veritable flood of God-life made possible by the Infinite Son of the Infinite Father.”30

Yes, the effectiveness of each Mass, which makes the sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally present, depends in part on the holiness of the entire Church offering it with Christ to the Father in the Holy Spirit, including the holiness of the individual priest offering and the holiness of his participating congregation.

• The Sacrifice of Calvary is sacramentally made present in the Mass. When we pray the Morning Offering Prayer, united to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, we act as intercessors, pleading to God that great graces be released all day through our prayerful actions as we act in love according to the Father’s will. Whether we are eating, taking care of a sick parent, enjoying time spent with a friend, working at our job, we can help bring down great graces for the world.

When we pray the Morning Offering Prayer we offer our lives to the Father, through Christ, in the Holy Spirit, with the prayerful assistance of Mary, our Mother. Let us pray together united in our hearts in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. There follows a Morning Offering Prayer.

“My dear Father, I offer You this day all my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings in union with Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in the Holy Spirit.

“I unite with our Mother, Mary, all the angels and saints, and all the souls in purgatory to pray to the Father for myself, for each member of my family, for my friends, for all the people throughout the world, for all the souls in purgatory, and for all other intentions of the Sacred Heart.

“I love You, Jesus, and I give You my heart. I love you, Mary, and I give you my heart. Amen.”32

Hebrews 10: 11-17

Every priest stands at his duties every day, offering over and over again the same sacrifices which are quite incapable of taking away sins. He, on the other hand, has offered one single sacrifice for sins, and then taken his seat for ever, at the right hand of God, where he is now waiting till his enemies are made his footstool. By virtue of that one single offering, he has achieved the eternal perfection of all who are sanctified. The Holy Spirit attests this to us, for after saying: No, this is the covenant I will make with them, when those days have come. the Lord says: In their minds I will plant my Laws writing them on their hearts, and I shall never more call their sins to mind, or their offences.

The Theology of Consecration

A. Boussard gives an extremely fine and concise sketch of the theology of consecration: “By the Incarnation, in and of itself, the Humanity of Jesus is consecrated, so that in becoming Man, Jesus is ipso facto constituted Savior, Prophet, King, Priest, and Victim of the One Sacrifice that was to save the world. He is the ‘Anointed’, par excellence, the ‘Christ’ totally belonging to God, His Humanity being that of the Word and indwelled by the Holy Spirit. When, by a free act of His human will, He accepts what He is, doing what He was sent to do, He can say that He consecrates ‘Himself’. In Christ, therefore, what might be called His ‘subjective’ consecration is a perfect response to the ‘objective’ consecration produced in His Humanity through the Incarnation.

“And what Christ does brings with it is a ‘consecration’ for His disciples, a very special belonging to God, since He imparts to them His own life precisely by making them participate in His own consecration.

“Through Baptism Christians also are consecrated and ‘anointed’ by the power of the Spirit. They share, in their measure, in the essential consecration of Christ, in His character of King, Priest, and Prophet (cf. 1 Peter 2:9; 7 Peter 1:3-4; Rev. 5:9, etc.). With Christ and through Christ, they are ‘ordered’ to the glory of God and the salvation of the world. They do not belong to themselves. They belong to Christ the Lord, who imparts His own life to them…

“The vocation of those who have been baptized is to ‘live’ this consecration by a voluntary adherence— and one that is as perfect as possible— to what it has made of them. Living as ‘children of God’, they fulfill subjectively their objective consecration; like Jesus, they consecrate themselves. This is the deeper meaning of vows and baptismal promises, together with the actual way of life corresponding to them. The baptismal consecration is the fundamental one, constitutive of the Christian. All consecrations which come after it presuppose and are rooted in it…”3

St. John Eudes On Union With Jesus

“You belong to the Son of God, but more than that, you ought to be in him as members are in the head. All that is in you must be incorporated into him. You must receive life from him and be ruled by him. There will be no true life for you except in him, for he is the one source of true life. Apart from him you will find only death and destruction. Let him be the only source of your movements, of the actions and the strength of your life. He must be both the source and the purpose of your life, so that you may fulfill these words: None of us lives as his own master and none of us dies as his own master. While we live, we are responsible to the Lord, and when we die, we die as his servants. Both in life and death we are the Lord’s. That is why Christ died and came to life again, that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

“Finally, you are one with Jesus as the body is one with the head. You must, then, have one breath with him, one soul, one life, one will, one mind, one heart. And he must be your breath, heart, love, life, your all. These great gifts in the follower of Christ originate from baptism. They are increased and strengthened through confirmation and by making good use of other graces that are given by God. Through the holy eucharist they are brought to perfection.”4

4. St. John Eudes, from a treatise on the Admirable Heart of Jesus, as in The Liturgy of the Hours, Catholic Book Publishing Co., Vol. IV, pp. 1331-32.

Luke 22: 19-20

Then he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ He did the same with the cup after supper, and said, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood poured out for you.

Thoughts on the Eucharist

• The Eucharist is not only a very special contact with God in Christ. In Christ we also relate to the other members of the Church. In receiving the Eucharist we pledge ourselves to deepen our love-union with all members of the Body which is the Church. We pledge to use these means which foster union. We determine to avoid that which causes selfish divisiveness.

The Eucharist also reminds us of our relationship with the entire human family. Jesus died and rose for all. The Eucharistic making-present of this paschal mystery nourishes our determination to assist in the work of ongoing redemption. The light of the Eucharist points to what we should be doing. The strength of the Eucharist assists us to so act in behalf of all.

The Eucharist, then, possesses the richest capacity to help us maintain and develop our personal relationship with God, the members of the Church, and all other members of the human family. And it will do just this if we surrender to its love, its power, its beauty.

• Henri Nouwen observes: “Jesus is God-for-us. Jesus is God giving himself completely, pouring himself out for us without reserve. Jesus doesn’t hold back or cling to his own possessions…He gives all this to us…‘Eat, drink, this is My body, this is My blood…this is Me for you!’”5

5. Henri Nouwen, With Burning Hearts, Orbis Books, p. 67.

Thoughts on the Eucharist

The Eucharist is our chief source for growth in the Christlife. There follow some thoughts on this magnificent Gift of Jesus to us.

• When Jesus speaks of His Blood as the “Blood of the Covenant” (Mt 26:28), we are reminded that blood sealed or ratified the Mosaic covenant at Mount Sinai. Moses sprinkled sacrificial blood upon the altar, which represented God, and upon the Jewish people. Because blood was a distinctive symbol of life for the Jewish people, such an action had a deep significance for them. This action of Moses symbolized the sealing or ratification of the covenant— a new life relationship between Yahweh and the Jewish people.

The sacrificial Blood of Jesus has also formed a covenant — the New Covenant. In the shedding of His Blood, Jesus has established a new life relationship between His Father and the human race. Forming a core, focal point of the redeemed human race are the members of the Christian community, the Church. The Eucharist, in recalling and making sacramentally present the shedding of Jesus’ covenant Blood, is the Church’s great covenant act. The Eucharist sustains the life of the covenant, nourishes it, causes it to grow. Through participation in the Eucharistic liturgy we should be growing in our covenant life. We should be developing a greater love-union with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We should be growing in a sense of community, in a deep love for the Church, in a desire to contribute our share to the building up of the body of Christ. We should be learning to curb our selfishness, this selfishness which deadens a dynamic concern for the Christian community and the entire human race. Participation in the Eucharist should also be curbing divisive jealousy, forming us more and more as persons who want deeply to love all so that it can be more often said of us, “See those Christians, how they love one another.” The Eucharist can more radically shape us according to these covenant attitudes if we allow it to do so. We repent over the times we have resisted. We rejoice regarding the times we have opened ourselves to the Eucharist’s transformative power.

Every action – Every prayer in our lives is united to the Mass – It is a Font of God’s Grace.

The Divine Bridegroom gave His Life on the cross and He rose from the dead victorious on the third day. The sacrifice of Calvary is sacramentally made present in the Mass today. We unite to it pleading as a body for ourselves, the Church and the world. We beg for grace from our Divine Bridegroom. As members of the Church we live as His spouse our bridal union all day.

Christ is Chief Priest and Mediator. We are His flock, the ones He came to save.

Yes, the Good Shepherd laid down His life for us. And it is in this that we must lay down our lives daily in the Morning Offering, offering all we do as a sacrifice united to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and great grace will be released for souls. We can identify with Him in this that we offer everything we do in trying to please Him and serve Him as a sacrifice united to the Mass. The more we tell others to pray the Morning Offering, the more people will lay down their lives for souls and the more grace will be released for the troubled hearts.   end of Introduction

Prayer for Healing the Family Tree
by Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F.

Heavenly Father, I come before you as your child,
in great need of your help.
I have physical health needs, emotional needs,
spiritual needs, and interpersonal needs.
Many of my problems have been caused
by my own failures, neglect and sinfulness,
for which I humbly beg your forgiveness, Lord.
But I also ask you to forgive the sins of my ancestors
whose failures have left their effects on me
in the form of unwanted tendencies,
behavior patterns, and defects in body, mind and spirit.
Heal me, Lord, of all these disorders.  – pause –

With your help I sincerely forgive everyone,
especially living or dead members of my family tree,
who have directly offended me or my loved ones in any way,
or those whose sins have resulted
in our present sufferings and disorders.
In the name of your divine Son Jesus,
and in the power of the Holy Spirit, I ask you, Father,
o deliver me and my entire family tree
from the influence of the evil one.  – pause –

Free all living and deceased members of my family tree,
including those in adoptive relationships,
and those in extended family relationships,
from every contaminating form of bondage.
By your loving concern for us, heavenly Father,
and by the shed blood of your Precious Son Jesus,
I beg you to extend your blessing to me
and all my living and deceased relatives.
Heal every negative effect transmitted
through all past generations,
and prevent such negative effects
in future generations of my family tree.  – pause –

I symbolically place the cross of Jesus
over the head of each person in my family tree,
and between each generation.
I ask you to let the cleansing blood of Jesus
purify the bloodlines in my family lineage.
Set your protective angels to encamp around us,
and permit Archangel Raphael, the patron of healing,
to administer your divine healing power to all of us,
even in areas of genetic disability.

Give special power to our family members’ guardian angels
to heal protect, guide and encourage each of us in all our needs.
Let your healing power be released at this very moment,
and let it continue as long as your sovereignty permits.

In our family tree, Lord, replace all bondage
with a holy bonding in family love.
And let there be an ever deeper bonding with you, Lord,
by the Holy Spirit, to your Son Jesus.
Let the family of the Holy Trinity pervade our family
with its tender, warm, loving presence,
so that our family may recognize
and manifest that love in all our relationships.
All of our unknown needs we include with this petition
that we pray in Jesus’ precious name.
Amen, Amen and Amen.

Prayer for Intergenerational Healing
based upon a prayer and the writings of Dr. Kenneth McAll

In the name of Jesus, and by his authority,
I come against any and every curse
that may have been directed to any member of our family.
I call down the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ
and I break any curse on my family or person
in the Holy name of Jesus.
I forgive and bless those who sent them.
Lord bless our enemies—do so by sending
your Holy Spirit to lead them to repentance,
to healing and to freedom.
I now break in the name of Jesus Christ
all psychic heredity and any demonic hold
upon my family line as a result of the
disobedience of any of my ancestors.
I declare all of this to be absolutely null and void.
In the Holy Name of Jesus.
In the Holy Name of Jesus.
In the Holy Name of Jesus.

In the Name of Jesus Christ,
I renounce all the work of evil,
together with any occult practices of my ancestors.
I subscribe myself to Jesus Christ,
my Lord and Savior, both now and forever.

(PRAY ON RED IMAGE ROSARY IF AVAILABLE)

Agony in the Garden

Jesus:

  1. 1. I loved you so much I gave Myself for you.

  2. 2. You do not fully comprehend how real I am.

  3. 3. You wander a barren desert.

  4. 4. You make this world your God.

  5. 5. This is My Mission to help bring about the Reign of My Heart.

  6. 6. Look at My red rosary, think of the drops of red Blood I shed in the garden for you.

  7. 7. Blood coming from My pores.

  8. 8. Blood mixed with water.

  9. 9. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

  10. 10. I give you such dignity - you do not comprehend.

Scourging at the Pillar

Jesus:

  1. 1. I was whipped for your sins of hatred and disharmony, the stubborn ways you act that come from deep in your heart.

  2. 2. Look at My red rosary, think of My Precious Blood I shed for you.

  3. 3. My Heart is an endless furnace of love.

  4. 4. The men were full of hatred in their hearts, they whipped Me and I loved them so much.

  5. 5. I love the souls today that laugh at Me and make fun of Jesus, fun of My Name, that raise themselves indignantly over Me.

  6. 6. They whip Me today, the way they treat Me.

  7. 7. They tear My Flesh.

  8. 8. My Heart beats for My beloved ones.

  9. 9. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

  10. 10. Look at the picture of My Heart on Blue Book II - It is a furnace of endless love.

Crowning with Thorns

Jesus:

  1. 1. In this month of the Sacred Heart spend time reading My personal love letters to you in My Blue Books.

  2. 2. Hear Me whisper My gentle words of love.

  3. 3. See My red Blood pour down My cheeks from the thorns. Look at the red rosary, think how much I love you. Carry it with you. Look at My picture, think of My deep love. Let My Sacred Heart remind you of My burning love.

  4. 4. Look at My Mother's picture on the building. God loves you so much, He gave you this gift of Mary on the building. Are you grateful?

  5. 5. See My pierced head.

  6. 6. See the Blood on My cheek.

  7. 7. See the Consecrated Host in the Mass.

  8. 8. See My Blood poured out for you.

  9. 9. Gaze upon the Exposed Eucharist.

  10. 10. I am there, I remain with you in such love.

Carrying of the Cross

Jesus:

  1. 1. A heavy cross I carried on My back.

  2. 2. Why do you think you should not suffer?

  3. 3. My Blood was red, My Heart is a symbol of My great love.

  4. 4. My walk to Calvary was painful.

  5. 5. I paid the price for the sins of today.

  6. 6. Do you have to go with the world? Quit watching the filthy movies and the dirt on television.

  7. 7. It hurts My Heart to see you won't take a stand for Me.

  8. 8. Don't visit places where people are sinning. It hurts My Heart that you do that.

  9. 9. My Heart bleeds when you say yes when you mean no, and no when you mean yes. Don't confuse matters, that is from Satan. Tell the truth.

  10. 10. I called you to be an Apostle of My Sacred Heart. Will you serve Me?

Crucifixion

Jesus:

  1. 1. My dear soul, I love you to say to Me when receiving the Eucharist, "I scarce can breathe when You come into Me."

  2. 2. My dear soul, I do love you so, so much, see My red Blood shed for you.

  3. 3. My dear soul, see My bleeding hands and feet.

  4. 4. My dear soul, look at the crucifix.

  5. 5. My dear soul, the most important thing you do everyday is going to Mass and receiving Me.

  6. 6. My dear soul, tell others of the gift of Myself in the Eucharist.

  7. 7. My dear soul, do you like favors, ice cream, candy? My dear soul, I give you Myself, I am the Son of God.

  8. 8. My dear soul, during this month of the Sacred Heart, pray this rosary, look at My red rosary, think of My drops of Blood. Oh My soul, it is Blood I shed for you.

  9. 9. Unite to the Mass at every moment. Feel united as a body.

  10. 10. My dear soul, My Mass is a gift I give to you. Love your priests, pray for them, the Church and the world. Oh My dear soul, the more you do for Me the more you will unite to Me. I am the Chief Shepherd of the Flock, I give My prayers to you. I will give the greatest graces to anyone who says My prayers and promotes My prayers. Churches that have prayer chapters, even small, will experience the greatest grace. They will turn into little cities of light, run by Me to give honor to Me and devotion to My Eucharistic Heart. I will bless abundantly all churches which have prayer chapters. In this month of June, the month of My Sacred Heart, I implore you to spread My prayer chapters. This is My plan to help enormously to renew the Church and the world.

I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Chief Shepherd of the Flock. My Heart is on fire for love of you, I loved you to My death on the cross. What did I think of on the cross? I thought of you. I knew you by name, I gave Myself as a sacrifice for you. Oh I love you, I am the Sacred Heart, I love you so much. My Heart is a burning furnace of love.

end of June 1, 2000 rosary

                From June 2, 2000

Messenger: A rosary given June 2, 2000, second day of the month of the Sacred Heart, to be used June 3, 2000. (Do at 6:20 prayers if possible).

Jesus: My chosen ones, pray this rosary June 3, 2000.

Resurrection

1. I gave My life for you.
2. How precious you are to Me.
3. This is the month of My Sacred Heart.
4. My Heart is on fire for you.
5. Thomas did not believe until he touched My wounds.
6. Where is your faith?
7. My Mother appears, one so fair, for those who are filled with doubt to remind you she is there as your spiritual Mother.
8. See the glory of that first Easter morn.
9. See Me clothed in white, Victorious after the brutal death.
10. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the risen Lord is with you today in the Eucharist.

Ascension

Jesus: I ascended into heaven, I left you here to help continue the work I began.

1. I am the Bread of Life.
2. I am the One Who saves.
3. I am the One Who sets the captives free.
4. I open the minds of the blind.
5. I gave My Apostles the power to forgive sins.
6. I gave you My Church, My Bride.
7. I sent the Holy Spirit to come to you.
8. I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
9. The Spirit of Truth comes to you.
10. You must walk in the ways of truth.

Descent of the Holy Spirit

1. On that Pentecost the Holy Spirit came upon them in tongues of fire.
2. Where they were once blind they could see.
3. Pray for the Holy Spirit to come alive in your hearts. Pray the Holy Spirit Novena I gave you. It is for your Church and your world, for you and your family, for healing, for protection from the evil one. It is to help you be My spouse
4. Say often, "Oh Holy Spirit, enkindle in me the fire of God's love."
5. See the fire from My Heart.
6. See the love of God as a burning furnace, a flame of the deepest intensity, beyond your human comprehension.
7. Pray the Holy Spirit Novena as a body at 6:20, being united to all others all over the world.
8. Have the pictures of these mysteries fixed in your mind. See Mary and the Apostles and the fire above their heads. Meditate on this mystery. Meditate how the Apostles were no longer afraid, but fearless.
9. Say, "Oh Holy Spirit, fill US WITH the FIRE of God's love."
10. Sing: Come Holy Ghost, think of every word, pray to Him with all your hearts as you sing. Feel the words deep in your hearts. The Holy Spirit is your God.
