Shepherds of Christ Radio Help
We give our hearts to Jesus and Mary with you in love!
You need Microsoft Media Player Version 9 to receive our audio broadcasts at full fidelity (except for Windows 95 and the Original Windows 98). If you have Windows XP, ME, or 98 SE, check your current version of the Media Player by starting the Media Player, select "Help", then select "About" and it will tell your current version - if it is not "Windows Media Player 9 Series or higher" you will need to upgrade. If you do not upgrade, it will still play, but at the lowest sound quality - 8 kbps. The new radio will automatically send the best sound your connection will allow. The available streams are 48kbps, 32 kbps, 20 kbps, 16 kbps, and 8 kbps. These speeds are selected by the computer.
For PC's or Macs all versions can be downloaded for free from Microsoft.
Make sure you have enough time to complete the upgrade before listening:
Windows XP - The Player will need to be upgraded - click here (Then select the top "Download Now" button)
Windows 98 SE (Second Edition), Win 2000 and Win Me - click here (Then select the bottom "Download Now" button)
The operating systems below will not support Windows Media 9, but the latest version of the player can be found at the links below. If you have the latest version, it should increase the chances of it working.
Windows 98 (Original Version, not Second Edition SE) - click here
Windows Media Player 6.4 for Win95 and Win NT4 - click here (You may have to manually enter radio station - see below)

Other Potential Problems:
Windows 95 Fails to Startup: You can manually enter the URL for the radio station into the player. File >> Open URL >> http://24.123.160.50:8080 for 16 kbps or http://24.123.160.50:8081 for 8kbps ( You must type in the complete address as shown.)
Close Player Window on Left: The Player Window on the left of your Internet Explorer screen can be closed by clicking on the X and the sound will still continue to play. To stop the sound, you will need to close Internet Explorer.
Ads for Other Movies or Audio: If
ads appear in the Player, they can be turned off. To do this:
Tools >> Options
>> Player >> Player Settings >> Uncheck "Start Player in
Media Guide"
>> Apply >> OK
Starting & Stopping Sound: If the sound stops & starts again, that means that your dial up connection may not be fast enough. The broadcast with Media 9 will adapt to your phone connection. It will vary from 5 Kbps to 48 Kbps which should work for almost all telephone dial ups. First try increasing the buffer time in the media player by: Tools >> Options >> Performance Tab >> Network Buffering >> click Buffering check box >> set 15 or 30 seconds >> Apply >> OK
The second thing to try is to manually set your connection speed lower by: Tools >> Options >> Performance Tab >> Connection Speed >> click "Chose connection speed" check box >> choose Modem (56 Kbps) >> Apply >> OK
If the buffering still generates errors, try the next lowest speed choose Modem (33.6 Kbps) or then (28.8 Kbps).
If problems persist, you might try a different Internet Service Provider (ISP). Their connections or systems could be loaded down. High speed DSL or cable modems should always provide good audio internet service.
