October 24, 2007

Through the gift of understanding we
can grasp more the truth. We delve
deeply always into knowing more and
                more about God.

The gift of knowing and loving is
                elevated in baptism.

                    Creatures reflect the beauty and
goodness of God. To turn from God to focus
on creatures is to miss ones true
happiness that can only be found in God.
Creatures are to lead us to God. All
relationships for the honor and glory of God.
In loving one finds greater happiness in
loving and seeing God's beauty and goodness in
others. It is this beauty and goodness that
                attracts us to them.

In that in loving another, one finds
                greater happiness because it is
                always as God wills.

We must see the world in its
proper perspective — that man is
in the world and this should lead
                him to greater happiness in
keeping focused that his goal is
God. In this lies our peace, our joy,
to know that God intends us to
love Him and others according to His
will, for His purpose to lead us to
greater perfection in Him and greater
holiness and to serve Him and others
in love for His honor and glory and
this ultimately gives us greater happiness.

The true goal of our life is God.
In believing in God we see more the
vision of God — Our life lived as a
lifting of the veil — realizing more the
vision of God, to finally be embraced
by God and enjoy the beatific vision
in heaven. This is our goal and our source
                of happiness.

We are called to be faithful to
this relationship between God and man.
It is a gift that God loves us so very
much. Being faithful to God means we
believe in the vision of God even though
we do not see everything with our
eyes — we believe in God and seek more
and more to know the vision of God —
                in this lies our happiness.

No person can take the place of
this relationship with God - for which
                we were created.

                    Being unfaithful to God leads
                to unhappiness.

It is God's goodness we see in
others that attracts us to them.
                Imperfections are not beautiful. One
taking something, as a thief, from another
                is not attractive.

Because one gives into the wounded
                human nature and is rebellious,
                jealous, disobedient, they do
                not unite, but divide themselves
                from others.

One at church may be very
                verbal and argumentative, not true
to their word, lying, saying they
said and did something they didn't
and others do not want to put up
with that — nor do they want to follow
                a liar.

When people are put before us as
leaders it is when they display
qualities of love and kindness, like
Jesus that they are attractive. A person
                keeping secrets that hurt everybody
                else is unattractive.

A leader you see to be open and
true is easy to follow — Look at
playing cards — Mary Lou reveals her
hand so you can work together —
how easy is that — Ned cheats at
cards — who wants to play with him?

We have within us the ability to
be more and more like Jesus and follow His
                rules.

How many cars would you buy from
a dishonest salesman? You want one
who helps you and tells you the truth
and is just all the way around.

God is love and in Him we creatures,
find what we desire — our happiness —
                our goal —

God opens His Heart and wants us to
come to Him and let Him set our
hearts on fire with His love.

What is attractive of a disobedient,
argumentative child and one who learns
such things as a child has engaged
in bad habits that may last in
disharmony life long if not corrected.
Would you rather work in harmony
                with another producing much good
                or disharmony with one controlling,
                manipulating for power, just
                wanting dominance for dominance
                sake.

People who are difficult to get
                along with — passive-aggressive —
making someone wait and wait — never
producing ought to see themselves —
I remember a priest saying once that
we would have to endure many trials
in purgatory like we did to others here
below — I sure don't know if this
is true, but a person must realize
God has a plan for us.

What happens when a man and woman
is married, have children and then
one is continually unfaithful to the
                other.

What does God want of a priest who
has chosen this vocation — or a sister —
                should married people and religious
rebel against their vocation or should
they be true to their vocation — living
in love and not selfish, rebellious,
                self-promoting ways.

In heaven all are doing God's will
"thy will be done on earth as it is in
                heaven."

Souls in heaven have the beatific
                vision — a beautiful vision.

Others that are acting for satan —
come and hurt others — operate in
                discord, selfishness — they do
not see that lust, jealousy, pridefulness,
                lies are unattractive.

Satan is the great deceiver, he
                operates in selfish ways tempting
men to be self-focused, hateful —
                hurting others, dividing, controlling,
                manipulating for power, dominance
for selfish gain. That is not accord,
                but discord and unattractive.

Doing things against God's will to
                promote oneself makes a person
                unhappy —

We are created in the image and
likeness of God — that is what makes
                men happiest.

                    Hurting others for selfish gain
in the end never makes us happy
                and it isn't attractive.

Imperfections can be part of ones
habits since age 2 or 3 and they teach
themselves to act this way — even
when they may be told about their
jealousy — for instance — they miss
the big picture and continue an ugly —
self-defeating habit — Will this help
us to have a high place, for all
                eternity in heaven —

                    Why are we here?

To know, love and serve our
God and thereby to attain eternal
                salvation —

Matthew 5: 48

...You must therefore be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.’

Not doing God's will ultimately leads
                to our own destruction.
