                What is in the heart?

                Is it pure?

Are we trying to have hearts like
                    Jesus and Mary?

Or have we given into the concupiscence
of the flesh to be clogged
                    vessels — hiding our impurities
                    and manipulating others to try
                    to teach others our impurities?

Christ was wounded for our sins.
We can hide our wounds like
                    trophies we hold onto and
                    hurt others in our impure
                    ways.

Jesus shows us His Heart that we
                    will sing the song
Give Me Your Heart Oh Jesus
Give Me a Heart like Yours.

                A saying at dysfunctional recovery
groups is — "You are as sick
                    as your secrets"

Jesus died on the cross bare —

                He came "Bare baby" into
                    the world

January 5, 1997

Jesus: BABY, BARE BABY, LAID BARE

Bare, Bare Baby, Laid Bare

Open yourself, Oh Jerusalem, your time is come you will be a light to the people in darkness, many will walk whence you come and the earth will be shakened and the light will come across a dark sky and enlighten their minds.

Oh stiff-necked people, you are so stiff in your ways, let the Spirit envelope you and lead you on your way.

A country of stiffs, a people of planning and prodding, of deliberating and wondering—you lack faith, Jerusalem, you lack faith in God.

Oh walk naked into the cold night, you are cold in your hearts and naked in your clothing—I clothe you with glory, I light your face with light, but you turn your cheeks to the darkness and stay stiff-necked in your hearts. Oh cold and dark hearts, reach for the light that you may know the glory that awaits the sinners and enlightens their minds.

end of January 5, 1997

The connection is in the heart —

                There is perfect obedience,
chastity and poverty in heaven —

Obedience to God's will in love is
the key of the spiritual life —

The fault of the impure heart is
                    seeking dominance for dominance
                    sake —

Where as we see all must be
                    under God's feet as
                    in the scripture
                    1 Corinthians 15

1 Corinthians 15:20-28

In fact, however, Christ has been raised from the dead, as the first-fruits of all who have fallen asleep. As it was by one man that death came, so through one man has come the resurrection of the dead. Just as all die in Adam, so in Christ all will be brought to life; but all of them in their proper order: Christ the first-fruits, and next, at his coming, those who belong to him. After that will come the end, when he will hand over the kingdom to God the Father, having abolished every principality, every ruling force and power. For he is to be king until he has made his enemies his footstool, and the last of the enemies to be done away with is death, for he has put all things under his feet. But when it is said everything is subjected, this obviously cannot include the One who subjected everything to him. When everything has been subjected to him, then the Son himself will be subjected to the One who has subjected everything to him, so that God may be all in all.

For they will be all under His
                    feet in the end —

                When we seek dominance over
                    authority we hurt ourselves
                    and our participation in God's
Plan — His grand design —
where in the end — all will
be under His feet as it says
                    in 1 Corinthians 15

                Unity is in the heart.

The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are
3 Persons in One God —

                    Perfect love —

                Thus the scripture

                    "Be perfect as your heavenly
                        Father is perfect"

Unity comes as in a body —
the heart pumps life to the
                    body

                Consumed with love Christ
                    mounted the cross for
                    His beloved souls

His Heart was pierced and Blood and
                    water came forth Blood for
                    the Eucharist and water for
                    Baptism flowed out —

The life from the Heart of Christ
pumps life into His body —

We baptized Catholics are one graced people —
baptized and fed on His precious
                Body and Blood —

                    The fluid should be so
flowing in us as we are
                one in Him — filled
with His life in us —
                His precious grace —

                    He died — Our Savior

                    Through His pierced
Heart the Church was born —
It is in spreading this devotion
to His Sacred Heart and Mary's
                Immaculate Heart we unite to
the Holy Mass — the Sacrifice of
                Calvary — Sacramentally made
present and His life flows through
us — uniting us to be this
                stable force in the troubled
                world —

Unity is in the Hearts of
Jesus and Mary — We live out our
                baptismal commitment by
                having this devotion of dwelling
                deeply in oneness in Their
                most pure and perfect Hearts
                of love

"You are as sick as your
                secrets" —

                    Jesus died bare on the
                cross —

Let us die to our imperfect
ways to be more likened to
                Christ "The first fruits" —
So we will help to bring
                    fruit to the Kingdom of
                    God

                Not for vain glory —
Not to build a kingdom of
                        selfishness —
                        being enslaved to satan

Excerpt of The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, by Louis J. Puhl, S.J.

136. THE FOURTH DAY

        A MEDITATION ON TWO STANDARDS

The one of Christ, our supreme leader and lord,
the other of Lucifer, the deadly enemy of our
human nature

PRAYER.   The usual preparatory prayer.

window at a former Jesuit Seminary

137. FIRST PRELUDE.   This is the history. Here it will be that Christ calls and wants all beneath His standard, and Lucifer, on the other hand, wants all under his.

138. SECOND PRELUDE.   This is a mental representation of the place. It will be here to see a great plain, comprising the whole region about Jerusalem, where the sovereign Commander-in-Chief of all the good is Christ our Lord; and another plain about the region of Babylon, where the chief of the enemy is Lucifer.

139. THIRD PRELUDE.   This is to ask for what I desire. Here it will be to ask for a knowledge of the deceits of the rebel chief and help to guard myself against them; and also to ask for a knowledge of the true life exemplified in the sovereign and true Commander, and the grace to imitate Him.

FIRST PART

THE STANDARD OF SATAN

140. FIRST POINT.   Imagine you see the chief of all the enemy in the vast plain about Babylon, seated on a great throne of fire and smoke, his appearance inspiring horror and terror.

141. SECOND POINT.   Consider how he summons innumerable demons, and scatters them, some to one city and some to another, throughout the whole world, so that no province, no place, no state of life, no individual is overlooked.

142. THIRD POINT.   Consider the address he makes to them, how he goads them on to lay snares for men and bind them with chains. First they are to tempt them to covet riches (as Satan himself is accustomed to do in most cases) that they may the more easily attain the empty honors of this world, and then come to overweening pride.

The first step, then, will be riches, the second honor, the third pride. From these three steps the evil one leads to all other vices.

SECOND PART

THE STANDARD OF CHRIST

143.   In a similar way, we are to picture to ourselves the sovereign and true Commander, Christ our Lord.

144. FIRST POINT.   Consider Christ our Lord, standing in a lowly place in a great plain about the region of Jerusalem, His appearance beautiful and attractive.

145. SECOND POINT.   Consider how the Lord of all the world chooses so many persons, apostles, disciples, etc., and sends them throughout the whole world to spread His sacred doctrine among all men, no matter what their state or condition.

146. THIRD POINT.   . . .

end of excerpt of The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius

When many in the world neglects the King of
                    Kings there is utter pandemonium.

God has made men unique, but they
are to be joined in this —
they are created by God for His
                    Holy purpose —
All obedient to His law and
                    commandments —

Weak people who do not want
                    authority over them
                    challenge authority —
                    they will couple with others
                        who are weak to fight
                        what is right —

Some people are against authority itself
If more and more people —
                        rather than following the
                        King of Glory begin their
                        own thing so they are
                        in control —
                        they have led people astray.

                Listen to 1 Corinthians 15

We are to be under His feet —

                But when Mary appeared at
Fatima and said you are —
                    offending God —
                    obey Him or there will
                        be World War II
I am the Queen of Peace —
                they disobeyed

The devil is sneaky — he works
in secret — like the frog

ie. if a frog is thrown in boiling
                    water — he jumps out
If a frog is put in warm water
and then the water is made
                    more warm to boiling,
the frog will die in the water.

                If order is constantly challenged
                    by aggressive people who
                    must win for their honor
                    and glory —
                    not God's will

                What have they won?

                Man thinks when he is
                    willful trying to be
                    over authority
                        he wins

                    in fact he loses
if authority is as God desires —
A man can be a slave giving
                            into satan —
                            disobeying God's rules

Some people deny that they are
                    imperfect —
                    they can become more and
                    more aggressive —

                Seeking dominance for themselves
and then they wake up one
                    morning knowing —

                All those around them in
                    an unruly world that
                    has gone astray —

                They may think

"The world must be such —
                    that I am not obeying
                    authority"
                    because they don't want
                    any one over them

                So they create confusion to
                    be in charge

                Without rules
                Without structure
                Without order

                There is disorder —
                The disorder of the garden
                    is seen in animals
                                  elements
                    male and female dominance

Who wins when you will do
                    passive-aggressive or
                    aggressive measures
                    to off set authority —
                    to control over authority.

                The saying goes

"You are as sick as your secrets" —
                    Secrets against authority
                        is a ploy for seeking
                        dominance
                    Secrets against those in authority
                        weakens structure

When God has given us the Church
                    as the authority —

                Some in the Church
                    challenge the teachings in
                    Rome

The Church in Rome — under
                    the Holy Father — is
                    the Pillar of Truth

God is letting us suffer —

                When people oppose God's
                    order — laws —
                    commandments

We live in a world we make
                    of disorder and imperfect men
                    who may want authority
so no one is over them

1 Corinthians 15:20-28

In fact, however, Christ has been raised from the dead, as the first-fruits of all who have fallen asleep. As it was by one man that death came, so through one man has come the resurrection of the dead.                 How did the Apostles do it?

                    What if Peter fought with
                        John?

                    What if Peter and Phillip
                        were co-dependent?

God calls us to be strong
members of the body of Christ —
                        each empowered under God —
                        under just authority —

You see the ark of Don Bosco
                    vision

                    with the pope
                    with the Eucharist
                    with the Blessed Virgin Mary

You much obey God's law —
                    obedience
                    to God's commandments —
                    being under God

Are you willing to get off your
                    ladder to follow the teachings
                    coming from Rome in
                    the Church

                "Bend the stubborn heart
                    and will"

                A person growing in holiness
                    is not rebelling
                    against God —

Adam and Eve did this —

                    Look how we have
                suffered —

  Exodus 34: 6-7

Then Yahweh passed before him and called out, ‘Yahweh, Yahweh, God of tenderness and compassion, slow to anger, rich in faithful love and constancy, maintaining his faithful love to thousands, forgiving fault, crime and sin, yet letting nothing go unchecked, and punishing the parent’s fault in the children and in the grandchildren to the third and fourth generation!’
