                December 5, 2014

                R. Dear Jesus,

I love you. You came to this earth and
You died for our sins. You died a brutal
                death.

We have worked on Blue Book 14 this retreat
and I opened up to this –

                Excerpts from Blue Book 14

Priestly Newsletter March/April 1997 p. 263

MAIN ARTICLE (excerpt)

Love for One Another

If, however, we must, on the one hand, strive to maintain a sense of proper need for others, we must, on the other hand, couple this with a thrust toward independence. To have an attitude of healthy dependence on others is a main ingredient for Christian growth. To maintain a morbid need for others, however, is a serious obstacle in becoming the persons God destines us to be. We should never become slavishly dependent on the company of others, their love, the attention they give us, the approval they give to us, our ideas, or our work. It is, of course, always very pleasant to receive love, attention and approval. All this, however, must occur within the framework of God’s will for us. We must constantly strive to lovingly do His will at all times and in all circumstances. This is the all-embracing and all necessary imperative that permeates every facet of our being. When we live according to this imperative, we gladly and gratefully receive love, attention, and affirmation from others when it is forthcoming. We realize that to be offered this is a part of God’s plan for us. If, however, such is not forthcoming at any one time, we courageously continue to live as we think God intends, aware that God in His loving faithfulness will compensate for what currently appears to be a lack of human support.

Sorrowful Mysteries

The Agony in the Garden

3. R. The more I merge with another, the more I die to that which is imperfect, to be molded into a more perfect love, which is how greater oneness is achieved. Love is oneness.

4. R. Therefore, we are striving for more perfect love in our relationships – Love that gives honor to God. Listen to Fr. Carter talk about the Trinity.

Excerpt from Response to God’s Love by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.

... In reference to Christianity, God himself is the ultimate mystery. Radically, God is completely other and transcendent, hidden from man in his inner life, unless he chooses to reveal himself. Let us briefly look at this inner life of God.

The Father, in a perfect act of self-expression, in a perfect act of knowing, generates his son. The Son, the Word, is, then, the immanent expression of God’s fullness, the reflection of the Father. Likewise, from all eternity, the Father and the Son bring forth the Holy Spirit in a perfect act of loving.

At the destined moment in human history, God’s self-expression, the Word, immersed himself into man’s world. God’s inner self-expression now had also become God’s outer self-expression. Consequently, the mystery of God becomes the mystery of Christ. In Christ, God tells us about himself, about his inner life, about his plan of creation and redemption. He tells us how Father, Son, and Holy Spirit desire to dwell within us in the most intimate fashion, how they wish to share with us their own life through grace. All this he has accomplished and does accomplish through Christ.

end of excerpt

                R. So we see how Fr. Carter was so focused on relationship –
relationship with God and with others –

Our lives are to be lived to learn about
                    God –
                    God is love –

Our lives are lived to live by the greatest
                    commandment

Matthew 22: 36-40

'Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?' Jesus said to him, 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole Law, and the Prophets too.'

                The Agony in the Garden

9. R. And so how does it feel? I look around and I see, I see so many people suffering and they do not turn to God. They have a wishy-washy relationship with Him. They have God on their own terms. They have a lip service love with God, but their hearts are burning inside and they are wounded and in pain. And the only thing, the only thing that will heal those wounds is the burning love of God. He is giving to us these messages to spread them to the thousands and millions of people that are walking this earth that have such a weak relationship with God, that have a lip service relationship with God. He is giving us these messages that will turn men’s hearts into a burning love affair with God and it will heal their wounds that are in their hearts.

Confusion on the Day of the Falmouth Flood, p. 151

Jesus: I am telling you, you tarry too long. I am Jesus. I am telling you to send out a letter inviting all members of the Shepherds of Christ to the two-day meeting in April.

It is important this letter goes out this week. You must include a letter from Fr. Carter inviting the apostles to come and telling them the urgency of this meeting.

Include in this letter a tape of Mary’s Message with Fr. Carter’s talk from February 13, 1997.  Also include three post cards of the apparition of Mary in Florida and the updated press release.

You must include a list of hotels and motels.

Encourage as many as possible to come to this meeting.

Please, I beg you, do not delay. Set up a work party today to accomplish this, this week.

This meeting will be the great beginning of the great expansion of your movement. Many will come and you will expand greatly. Also, send the notice to those contacting you from the Florida apparition.

Prepare yourselves now for many will come and they must be fed with the materials and instructed on the ministries.

The division is within the movement to keep you focused on problems. I am telling you, as the Father has told you before, that you must keep your focus on the 13th.

Satan has created confusion through some visionaries. He will do everything to stop you.

I am Jesus. The willful parties not supporting the 13th and the rosaries will suffer. They are creating the division within the movement.

It is their envy that is causing problems. The major focus for this week are on the two meetings, the 13th of March and 13th of April.

You must have materials available. Ask Tom Arlinghaus if he would help in the reprinting of the second Blue Book.

I am Jesus. I love you.

January 23, 1997 - Personal Time with Jesus (excerpt), p. 108

R. No personal time with Jesus - we hold back our thoughts, we put Jesus on a schedule. Our every thought is not shared with Him. We do not have any personal time with Him. He wants personal time which we set aside just for Jesus because we love Him so much.

That is why He wakes us in the middle of the night - to be so close to us. Jesus wants us to think of Him, to do little acts of love for Him. Loving whenever we are tired, loving when we want to not love someone - we are loving Jesus when we love someone else. We are not loving to Jesus when we are unloving to others.

Jesus’ ways are love - always love.

I am dying to the ways that are not like Him. It is painful - dying. He shows us how painful it is to die. He was wounded and He was whipped. He was beaten. He was bloodied, and He died on a cross for us.

See page 25, God’s Blue Book II. “Do not worry”, August 25, 1995 noon:

Jesus: You think that you know suffering. Look at Me as I knelt in the Garden. I saw before Me all of the sufferings thatI would undergo, but My greatest sufferings were not the sufferings that I would experience to My body, even to My death on the cross, but the sufferings of My Heart, the rejection of those that I loved, I loved so dearly that I gave My life and they rejected me. This was to their own detriment. They would lose their souls to the fires of hell, despite all that I was about to undergo.

I love you to My death!

I am Jesus, My life lives in the Rosaries from the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. It lives in your hearts when you use the messages I have given to you, My gift of love to you, Jesus.

Excerpt from February 9, 1997, Jesus: These are My Writings, p. 168

Jesus: Oh, listen to Me, listen to Mary, listen to My Father. Give these books to all souls and I will give them the grace to have an intimate love affair with Me. Every book should include a consecration and morning offering card. Ask Don to print as many as possible. Each book must include a donation envelope to help the Ministry to continue. The hearts of men will be changed through these writings. They are My writings to change men's hearts to hearts of love. Please circulate God's Blue Books and Rosaries from the Hearts of Jesus and Mary to a hungry soul. I will write the messages of My love on their hearts. Please circulate the Priestly Newsletter Book, priestly newsletters, and Tell My People, to the priests. Include the Prayer Manual and brochure. You must contact the Church, the family, and the schools with the consecration.

Please, I beg you, My shepherds, it is through your work that many will come to My Heart and My Mother's Heart. There will be one flock and one Shepherd. Pray for the support, both financially and prayfully, from all members. Oh, how I love you. I love you, My shepherds, I love you, My apostles of love for the new era. You are My apostles of My Eucharistic Heart. My Heart will reign and I will be King and Center of the hearts of men. I will be the King in all churches and all families and schools. You will help greatly to bring this about. I love you. Jesus

2nd Sunday of Advent

Isaiah 40: 1-5, 9-11

'Console my people, console them,'
says your God.
'Speak to the heart of Jerusalem
and cry to her
that her period of service is ended,
that her guilt has been atoned for,
that, from the hand of Yahweh,
  she has received
double punishment for all her sins.'

A voice cries, 'Prepare in the desert
a way for Yahweh.
Make a straight highway for our God
across the wastelands.
Let every valley be filled in,
every mountain and hill be levelled,
every cliff become a plateau,
every escarpment a plain;
then the glory of Yahweh will be revealed
and all humanity will see it together,
for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken.'

Go up on a high mountain,
messenger of Zion.
Shout as loud as you can,
messenger of Jerusalem!
Shout fearlessly,
say to the towns of Judah,
'Here is your God.'

Here is Lord Yahweh coming with power,
his arm maintains his authority,
his reward is with him
and his prize precedes him.
He is like a shepherd feeding his flock,
gathering lambs in his arms,
holding them against his breast
and leading to their rest the mother ewes.

2 Peter 3:8-14

But there is one thing, my dear friends, that you must never forget: that with the Lord, a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not being slow in carrying out his promises, as some people think he is; rather is he being patient with you, wanting nobody to be lost and everybody to be brought to repentance. The Day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then with a roar the sky will vanish, the elements will catch fire and melt away, the earth and all that it contains will be burned up.

Since everything is coming to an end like this, what holy and saintly lives you should be living while you wait for the Day of God to come, and try to hasten its coming: on that Day the sky will dissolve in flames and the elements melt in the heat. What we are waiting for, relying on his promises, is the new heavens and new earth, where uprightness will be at home. So then, my dear friends, while you are waiting, do your best to live blameless and unsullied lives so that he will find you at peace.

Mark 1: 1-8

The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It is written in the prophet Isaiah:

Look, I am going to send my messenger
        in front of you
to prepare your way before you.
A voice of one that cries in the desert:
Prepare a way for the Lord,
    make his paths straight.

John the Baptist was in the desert, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. All Judaea and all the people of Jerusalem made their way to him, and as they were baptised by him in the river Jordan they confessed their sins. John wore a garment of camel–skin, and he lived on locusts and wild honey. In the course of his preaching he said, ‘After me is coming someone who is more powerful than me, and I am not fit to kneel down and undo the strap of his sandals. I have baptised you with water, but he will baptise you with the Holy Spirit.’

2nd Sunday of Advent

December 4, 2011

INTRODUCTION – (Isaiah 40: 1-5, 9-11; 2 Peter 3:8-14; Mark 1:1-8) For the history behind today’s first reading, we have to go back almost 600 years before Christ (587 years to be precise). We cannot imagine the devastation the Jewish people suffered under the Babylonians. It would have been the annihilation of any other nation, but since the Jews were God’s special people, they were not to be exterminated. Their cities, their homes, their farms and the great temple built by Solomon almost 400 years earlier were all destroyed. Most of the Jews that weren’t killed were taken as captives and slaves to Babylon, almost a 1000–mile trip, on foot, through modern day Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq. They slowly realized, through the words of the prophets, how they had abandoned their God and how that set the stage for this great disaster. But God promised not to abandon them; he assured them, through the prophets, that he would restore them to their homes and their lands. Roughly fifty years later the kingdom of the Babylonians was conquered and destroyed by the Persians (people who lived in Iran). The king of Persia, Cyrus, immediately gave the Jews permission to return to their land. Today’s reading from Isaiah begins a large 16–chapter section of Isaiah known as the “Book of Consolation.” The prophet is instructed by God to bring this good news to God’s people. The route by which the Lord would lead his people home is referred to as “the way of the Lord.” Attention must be given to preparing the way. This is the important theme in today’s liturgy. John the Baptist takes up this theme five centuries later when he calls the people of his own day to prepare for the Messiah. The liturgy uses today’s Scriptures to call us to prepare not only for Christmas but also for the various ways in which Christ comes to us in our daily lives as well as for the day when Christ will call us into his eternal kingdom.

HOMILY – Almost everything in life that is of any great importance requires preparation beforehand: getting an education, getting married, getting a job, moving, having a family (although sometimes the family accidentally turns out to be bigger than a person had planned on). When the pope or heads of state go to visit a place, preparations are made, often far in advance.

When God was about to send his only Son to earth to teach us and guide us into God’s kingdom of unending peace and joy, he sent someone to prepare for that coming. St. Mark, as he begins his gospel, gets right to that point by telling us about John the Baptist. Actually, through the words of the prophets, God prepared for his Son’s coming long before starting with Moses (Acts 3:22) and King David (Acts 2:25). He prepared for his Son’s coming by preserving Jesus’ mother from all sin, even original sin, which is the feast we celebrate this Thursday in the feast of the Immaculate Conception.

John the Baptist told God’s people, and he tells us through the gospel, that even though God made many preparations beforehand for the coming of Jesus, we must prepare also. John called people to repent of their sins and change their ways if they were not living as God wanted. His baptism was a symbol of their starting a new way of life. John himself, although a holy man, adopted the lifestyle of the great prophet Elijah and his garments reflected his call to do penance. Many people thought maybe he was the Messiah, but John knew his role; he was only a voice calling people to prepare for One so much greater than he was that he was not worthy even to kneel down before him and untie his shoes.

We get very busy this time of the year preparing for Christmas and that’s all very nice, but for many of us perhaps what we need to do to prepare is to become less busy and take time to reflect on what Christ’s birth is all about. Last week I recommended that a very good way to prepare would be to read the gospel for the day, picture it, think about it for several minutes. Sometimes we can experience the Lord speaking to us in a powerful way through his Word. Or we could say the rosary during the week, or come to morning Mass or Holy Hour, or do some spiritual reading. There are hundreds of things we can do for other people too, but sometimes we need to take time to do something for ourselves in such a way that we are fed spiritually. As I said, perhaps we need to do less rather than more so we can use our time more efficiently. There’s no substitute for quiet time. Taking quiet time for ourselves helps us to remain peaceful during such a busy time and helps us to keep our priorities in order. Don’t just prepare for Christmas, prepare for Christ. Amen.
