February 12, 2010

I came to China February 10th
to do the retreat and both car
doors were open on the Expedition
It looked undone — snow was
                thick around the car, both
doors wide open — it looked
                undone — I questioned why
                Later someone showed up to
                do something

                    Last night I accidently
                must have pressed a button
on my key and the back lift
gate on my car was open
                all night —

                    I was upset at 7:00AM —
that the car was open all
                night —

                    It was undone — not
right as intended — my things
                were inside

                    Things left undone can cause
                us alarm —

                    When considering a life-time
                of unfinished emotions — ones
                stuffed and not worked through
we can have a lot of things
not right and undone in our
                hearts —

                    Undone from childhood —
                wounded emotions from brothers
sisters — a big suitcase full
of baggage, as Fr. Mike says,
we keep acting out in an attempt
                for resolve —

                    When I was a child — I spent
time looking at the beautiful snow
falling — Today as I drove to
China I saw not ice covered trees,
but trees that were white — like
sprayed white by God — I never
                saw barren trees like this
so white — against the river —
                along the road —

The road of life can be
full of wounds and barren trees and
in it God is with us — in suffering —
                in joy —

We need to touch down — we
are ready to accept God's will
for us — We seek it — We
react today to what is going on

A barren tree can be beautiful —
                adorned in white

like our battered hurt hearts —
we want resolve from the hatred
                we stored against others —

I saw the river and the white
trees — barren, covered as if sprayed
                with such beauty  —

The river looked cold and gray,
but such beauty — little logs
                too — covered with snow
graced the beauty of a silver
river — the white fog made the
                beauty look feathered as if
God was cushioning the earth —
men in their bleakness — raced and
missed the beauty of a wonderland
like one I never saw —

Yesterday our priest for Mass —
had to go off the road in a
ditch — a big tractor trailer
went by and would wipe out —
many cars as he went —
spinning they left the road for
the ditch for it avoided a
                wreck with the big monster
driven by a person who never
looked to even see the wounded
                path he left —

God has put us here to see and
                be attentive with those we
                live with — "damaged goods"

                    I heard a psychologist say once —
and Fr. Mike said "damaged goods"
Why do we not live as God intends
us to — really live in the moment
as Fr. Carter said in this homily —

From a Lenten Homily, March 24, 2000

Live in the Moment

Today’s Gospel in its story certainly points ahead to Jesus in His Passion and death. And as we read passages such as this during the Lenten season, we are reminded once again that the Church in her Liturgy of the Word gives us an opportunity to undergo a purification, an ever deepening cleansing of ourselves so that we may be a more fit instrument for receiving the great graces which are to be given to us at the time of the Resurrection memorial on Easter. And so all in all, Lent is a time of purification to prepare us for ever-greater gifts of the Lord. It’s a time of self-discipline, a time to renew our efforts to be self-disciplined in the service of the Lord. Self-discipline is an aspect of purification. And I suggest that one of the most difficult acts of self-discipline in the spiritual journey is to concentrate on the present moment. We have a very strong tendency to disregard the importance of the present moment by focusing in a wrong way on the past or in a wrong way on the future. There are proper occasions for thinking of the past and the future. For example, we have to learn from the past and we have to prepare for the future, but our great emphasis has to be upon the present. There is a Latin axiom which says, age quod agis, age quod agis, which means: do what you are doing, concentrate on the present. And of course we are familiar with that term in the history of spirituality: the sacrament of the present moment. And so the discipline of Lent certainly encourages us to include in a deeper self-discipline a greater determination to get as much as we can out of the present moment. People with a terminal illness have an opportunity as they prepare for death for increased prayer, contrition, love of God. However, some are taken very, very quickly. But for those who have the opportunity of knowing with some certainty the time of their death, I’m sure as they look back on their lives, they are saddened by the many times they did not use time and opportunities for the service of the Lord properly, and are overjoyed at those times in which they did use the present opportunity properly. A great means we have of living in the present properly is a greater focus upon our Lord. For if I have that awareness of the fact I am united with Jesus here and now, why should I be concerned so much about the future or the past? Yes, a great help in living in the present and deriving all the good we can from it for ourselves and others is an ever greater focus upon Jesus, because the more I focus upon Jesus and the more I live with Him in the present moment, the more I am satisfied with the present moment. And so let us in our Lenten activity resolve to grow in that self-discipline - which is very difficult at times - to really live in the presence with the fullness of our being as much as is possible, with the help of God’s grace. Now is the day of salvation. Now is the day of salvation.

end of Father Carter's homily

            May 19, 1992

                            R. Dear Jesus,

I can never live the moments of this day again.

When I go to bed tonight they will be gone forever.

I must treasure each moment I have right now because I can never have it back again.

                            Thanks for this thought.

                            I love You Jesus
                            I love You Holy Spirit
I love You God the Father

I had a car that had lots
of miles and it was damaged — it
didn't work right and I had to
get rid of it even though I
liked it — It was damaged —

I need to be able to count on
my car and not have unpredictable
                problems spring up that stop
all I need to do —

                    A person with unfinished business
in their hearts — damaged goods
                are unpredictable —

                    They can use alcohol, drugs,
food to numb their pain —

They can use the abuse cycle on
                others —

                    provoking and provoking others to
                scream as they punish others
                wanting to see the beautiful
snow — the wonderland God has
given us — They, the wounded,
can live in darkness inside —
not right and they feel miserable
so they keep acting out on others —
                manipulating — hurting others
like the tractor trailer who forced
                Father's car, other's cars in a ditch —
while they went ahead — their head
straight — not thinking of the mess
of cars being dragged from a ditch
                by 'wreckers'

What will God say to us
children of Adam and Eve — when
die and want to go to heaven —

                    How have you lived —

                    Jesus was wounded for our
sins, He showed us how He
died and yet He rose to give
                us new life —

Fr. Mike always says to me —
                ORDER — RITA — Accountability
                Responsibility —

                    A person isolating and hurting
others — moving full steam ahead —
                wounding others because of their
wounds or hard hearts — frozen
hearts — sinful hearts is not happy —

Happiness is found in God —
In loving God and loving others — This
                is the greatest commandment —
                It's not a suggestion from God —
It's a commandment from God and
God gives us this sharing in
His life through baptism — The new Covenant —
God gives us this gift —
God in us — for the Father,
Son and Holy Spirit dwell in the graced
baptized soul — God wants this
                intimacy with us —

Making Jesus the King of our
hearts — dying to the old wounds —
begging to change our hearts —

We are not to wait for others to wait
on us — while we expect others to see
our wounds and make us happy —

Look — Jesus came to us —
                    Jesus took on flesh —
                    Jesus became a Man
                        walking the earth for
                        our sake and

                People can hold onto angry
                    emotions and don't care
who they hurt — or what
they do to trample on the new
                    growth others have planted and
                    nurtured —

They are angry and that can
                be their false god —

Their anger can be their end —
                wanting revenge —

                    Satan works in unforgiveness —
He works to tempt the person
to be rageful — revengeful —
hurt others and the angry person
                listening to the fallacious
                reasoning of satan —

Never sees the white of the
                beautiful snow — the white
                wonderland of the beautiful
                trees —

                    They can give into dark
dismal thinking and it is a habit —
a habit to be angry — a habit
to be unloving — a habit to be
dark — build walls — hurt and
                provoke others and
It is against God's will — who
is love — who created us in
His image and likeness — who
commands us to love Him and
                others —

                Commands we love —

When I see visions — there is light and
                    soft corners and mystical beauty
                    I can never describe —
a veil of gold dust before
                        Mary appearing with the
                        Eucharist exposed
beauty beyond any I have ever
seen on earth — nor could
                    I describe in words —

                    God touches the earth
around me and I want it to stay —
the intensity — the depth of
beauty — beyond the world —
                I usually see —

Oh God — this is reality —
Your light — Your love — Your
purity — Your generosity and gifts

I know unity and love in
                my heart —

God has called us to empty out
                the hatred, unforgiveness, debris —
like a person stuck in the
house in a snow storm — the
                snow plow comes and clears
the road — the answer is to
admit our sins and go to confession
To get to spring cleaning — that
                    brings blossoms and
                    flowers and
                    green growth —
                    fruit for the Kingdom
                    New life —

                Bears hibernate —
But they come to life again —

Trees look barren and they are
                    beautiful after the hard
winter — most of them —

The devil wants a soul dead
                    in sin —

We only are at rest in God —
We were created to love —
We were created to live —
We were created to report for
                    His work —
                    every day —
                    every hour —

                We are His

God made us for His purpose and
                    to love —
to be likened to Him —
                    to examine our conscience —

One who lies is listening to satan —
He is the father of lies
                    Vices are habits —

                    God created the heavens and
                the earth —

                    Jesus remains truly present
                in the Eucharist —

God loves us so much —
                    He gives us gifts —

We can be angry and not see
                anything but our anger —
                selfishness — while we block
                His plan

God has called us to serve —
He showed us how He washed
                the Apostles' feet —

Jesus showed us how He served —
He was tired from serving — He
slept in the boat — He was
                so tired

                    He showed us how the
                Apostles slept in the garden

Luke 22: 45-46

When he rose from prayer he went to the disciples and found them sleeping for sheer grief. And he said to them, ‘Why are you asleep? Get up and pray not to be put to the test.’

He showed us Judas — who
                betrayed Him —

                    Judas hung himself —

                    How many people were
                betrayed today by people
who lie and do things behind
                their back —

                God knows everything —
                We are judged by God
                Jesus is truth

The devil is the father of lies —

The wise man seeks the will of God —
The wise man seeks to be like Jesus

Prayer from St. Ignatius

Lord, teach me to be generous.
Teach me to serve you as you deserve;
To give and not to count the cost;
To fight and not to heed the wounds;
To toil and not to seek for rest;
To labor and not to ask for any reward,
Save that of knowing
that I am doing your will.

What good does it do a man
to win the world and lose
                    His soul —

God's gifts are all around us —

Satan presses down and uses old
                    memories, wounds to tempt
                    a person
                    unfinished business

                Lying to ourselves and others
when we are to be united
                    and truthful to do God's
plan and we give into satan

Jesus: When I reached down and touched
many hearts — they said —
"go away Jesus" and they followed
a cold heart and listened to
                    satan's fallacious reasoning

Genesis 4: 7

If you are doing right, surely you ought to hold your head high! But if you are not doing right, Sin is crouching at the door hungry to get you. You can still master him.’

This is what God told Cain —
                    then he murdered his brother

We see the stories of brother
rivalry in the Old Testament —

We see the gentleness of Jesus —
The desire of Jesus for us
                        to be one

John 17: 20-23

I pray not only for these
but also for those
who through their teaching
will come to believe in me.
May they all be one,
just as, Father, you are in me
    and I am in you,
so that they also may be in us,
so that the world may believe
it was you who sent me.
I have given them the glory
    you gave to me,
that they may be one as we are one.
With me in them and you in me,
may they be so perfected in unity
that the world will recognise
that it was you who sent me
and that you have loved them
    as you have loved me.

Prayer of St Ignatius

Soul of Christ, sanctify me
Body of Christ, save me
Blood of Christ, inebriate me
Water from the side of Christ wash me
Passion of Christ, strengthen me
O good Jesus, hear me
Within Thy wounds hide me
Permit me not to be separated from Thee
From the wicked foe defend me
at the hour of my death call me
and bid me come to Thee
That with Thy saints I may praise Thee
For ever and ever. Amen.

                Jesus had enemies

                Jesus knew how to read

Jesus is the King of heaven
                    and earth —

                Jesus wants our free will

                Jesus' weapons are
                    humble submission to God's will

Mark 14: 1-15

It was two days before the Passover and the feast of Unleavened Bread, and the chief priests and the scribes were looking for a way to arrest Jesus by some trick and have him put to death. For they said, 'It must not be during the festivities, or there will be a disturbance among the people.'

He was at Bethany in the house of Simon, a man who had suffered from a virulent skin-disease; he was at table when a woman came in with an alabaster jar of very costly ointment, pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the ointment on his head. Some who were there said to one another indignantly, 'Why this waste of ointment? Ointment like this could have been sold for over three hundred denarii and the money given to the poor'; and they were angry with her. But Jesus said, 'Leave her alone. Why are you upsetting her? What she has done for me is a good work. You have the poor with you always, and you can be kind to them whenever you wish, but you will not always have me. She has done what she could: she has anointed my body beforehand for its burial. In truth I tell you, wherever throughout all the world the gospel is proclaimed, what she has done will be told as well, in remembrance of her.'

Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, approached the chief priests with an offer to hand Jesus over to them. They were delighted to hear it, and promised to give him money; and he began to look for a way of betraying him when the opportunity should occur.

On the first day of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb was sacrificed, his disciples said to him, ‘Where do you want us to go and make the preparations for you to eat the Passover?’ So he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, ‘Go into the city and you will meet a man carrying a pitcher of water. Follow him, and say to the owner of the house which he enters, “The Master says: Where is the room for me to eat the Passover with my disciples?” He will show you a large upper room furnished with couches, all prepared. Make the preparations for us there.’

John 18: 1-10

After he had said all this, Jesus left with his disciples and crossed the Kidron valley where there was a garden into which he went with his disciples. Judas the traitor knew the place also, since Jesus had often met his disciples there, so Judas brought the cohort to this place together with guards sent by the chief priests and the Pharisees, all with lanterns and torches and weapons. Knowing everything that was to happen to him, Jesus came forward and said, ‘Who are you looking for?’ They answered, ‘Jesus the Nazarene.’ He said, ‘I am he.’ Now Judas the traitor was standing among them. When Jesus said to them, ‘I am he,’ they moved back and fell on the ground. He asked them a second time, ‘Who are you looking for?’ They said, ‘Jesus the Nazarene.’ Jesus replied, ‘I have told you that I am he. If I am the one you are looking for, let these others go.’ This was to fulfil the words he had spoken, ‘Not one of those you gave me have I lost.’

Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.

                    Look at Herod —

He said Come entertain us Jesus —
                    Give us a miracle —

                    Jesus does the Father's will

What kind of court is it —
                    Pilate and Herod's court

                The people pick Barabbas —
                    a murderer

They said crucify Jesus a peacemaker

                People don't like people
                    many times that are
                    too good —

                Jesus is all goodness —

Stations of the Cross

February 22, 1995

1. Jesus Is Condemned to Death

Jesus:  My dear child, with angry hearts and hatred on their faces, they poked at Me and condemned Me to death. I stood so silent, My hands tied, in perfect peace, because I knew the Father's love. I knew the Father's Will. You too will stand your trials in perfect peace, the more you realize the immense love the Father, Son and Holy Spirit have for you. Pray to the Spirit to transform you more and more into My image and, through this transformation, you will be led ever closer to the Father. Oh, how I love you!

2. They Give Jesus the Cross

Jesus:  They gave Me a heavy cross, laden with the sins of the world. They placed it on My shoulder. It was so heavy I felt as if My shoulder would break. I ask you to carry little crosses, to experience little pains. I could not remove this cross from My shoulder. The weight was unbearable. It is through My suffering and death that you receive new life. It is through your sufferings this day that you will grow in your life with Me. Oh, child, I loved you so much that I took up the cross of salvation. I love you. Please realize that I am talking to you here. To My death I loved you. Oh, how I love you!

3. Jesus Falls the First Time

Jesus: The cross was so heavy I could hardly walk. I held on to My cross for greatest love of you and in compliance with the Will of My Father. It became so hard to walk! The cross was so heavy! I fell. I fell and the cross fell on Me. They poked at Me, they struck Me, they demanded I get up. The pain from the instruments they used to poke Me and strike Me was so great! I somehow managed to get up.

When you fall under the weight of your cross, come to My Eucharistic Heart. I am no less present in the tabernacle and in the Eucharist than on the day I carried My cross. I wait with the same love that I had for you when I carried this cross and suffered such agony. Oh, how I love you!

4. Jesus and Mary Meet

Jesus: I saw the face of My beautiful Mother. She was weak, her face reddened and full of tears. I saw her tender heart, her love, her anguish, her pain. I saw My dear Mother Mary. My Heart was comforted by the sight of her, but torn by her suffering.

Mary: As I looked into the eyes of my beloved Son, I saw His love. His head, bleeding and wounded. His body weak. His clothes covered with blood. I looked into His eyes and I saw His love for you. I call out to you today. I appear today with a face full of anguish and tears. I appear to call you back to the love of my Son. See through my eyes, as I peer into His eyes, the love He has for you this day to give of Himself for you. Oh, He loves you so much, my little children. See through my eyes the love of my Son. Oh, how He loves you!

5. Simon of Cyrene Is Forced to Help Jesus Carry His Cross

Jesus: The cross was so heavy I could not move. My persecutors became angry and forced a man to help Me. The cross was so heavy the two of us could barely move it. How is your cross today? Does it seem so heavy you cannot go on? I am forever watching you. When you are suffering the greatest, I am very close to you. It is in immense suffering that you realize My great love for you. Pray for grace to do always the Father's Will. Pray for grace to grow in your knowledge and love of Me.

6. Veronica Wipes the Face of Jesus

Jesus: My face was covered with blood. From the crowd Veronica came forward with a cloth to wipe My face. On the cloth I gave to you an imprint of My bloodied face. This, My children, remains with you this day as a sign of My immense love for you. But more than any cloth, look beyond the visible consecrated host. I, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, remain with you, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, in the Eucharist this day, waiting and longing to be with you. Oh, how I love you!

7. Jesus Falls the Second Time

Jesus: Oh, dear ones, the road became harder and harder to walk. The cross was becoming heavier, My body weaker and weaker. My shoulders and arms hurt so much! My head throbbed as I walked. The blood came from My body, from My head to My feet. I was covered with open wounds. I could not go any farther. I stumbled and fell. Again they poked at Me, only harder, and with such hatred they kicked Me. Such vileness in the hearts of men! My greatest agony was not the agonies of My body, but the agonies of My heart for the love I have for all My precious souls. I loved them so dearly. I loved those who persecuted Me. Oh, how I love you!

8. Jesus Meets the Women of Jerusalem

Jesus: The women came to Me with their children, their tender hearts crying and wanting to comfort Me. I saw their love, their care. I saw the coldness of men's hearts for all time, the hatred, the anger, the sins, all the souls that, despite all of My sufferings and death, would be condemned to eternal damnation. I told the women to weep not for Me, but for themselves and their children. My greatest agonies were the agonies of My Most Sacred Heart. Oh, how I love you!

9. Jesus Falls the Third Time

Jesus: I fell hard the third time. I was so weakened I could not go on. My body collapsed under the cross from such exhaustion! My child, My child, My greatest agonies were not the wounds to the body. They were the wounds I experienced to My heart. Do you know a little more now how I love you? It is in meditating on My Passion and death that you will realize My immense love for you. When you fall, when you struggle, I give you the grace to get up. I never give you more than you can handle. Your strength will come from Me. Come to My Eucharistic Heart. I am waiting for you this day. Oh, how I love you!

10. Jesus Is Stripped of His Garments

Jesus: They took Me to the hill to crucify Me. They angrily stripped Me of My garments. They took off My clothes to whip Me. They had covered My bloody wounds with a dirty purple robe. Now, total surrender-they took off My clothes. I showed you the way to surrender, always complying with the Will of the Father. It is in living in His Will that you will have peace and joy, and life eternal some day. Oh, how I love you!

11. They Nail Him to the Cross

R. See Mary as she holds the little Baby Jesus. See her as she washes His tender hands and feet. See her now as she watches as they pound into those same hands and feet the gigantic nails that fix Jesus to the cross.

Oh, my dear ones, my heart was torn in my chest as they nailed His hands and feet to the cross. I ask you this day to walk the Passion with me and see through my eyes the love He has for you. He truly was nailed to the cross.

They pounded the nails into My first hand, then they stretched My body and nailed My other hand. The blood poured from these wounds that went totally through My hands. My pain was so immense, but then they nailed My feet! You do not know what pain I suffered, My child. My children, My children, for each one of you I suffered this pain. Oh, how I loved you!

12. Jesus Dies on the Cross

He hung for three agonizing hours on the cross against the darkened sky. His greatest agonies were not the agonies of His body, but those of His Heart for the great love He has for each and every soul.

I gave Myself to you, My dear ones. I gave My all. I hung with My arms spread in total surrender. My head was punctured; My hands and feet were nailed to the cross. I gave Myself to you. I give Myself to you this day in the Eucharist. I give Myself to you. I, God, give you Myself! What more do you want?

Oh, burning Heart, oh, Love divine, etc.

They pierced His Heart with a lance and what flowed forth was blood and water, the sacramental life of the Church, water for Baptism and blood for the Eucharist. His life, death and resurrection live on in the Church this day.

13. Jesus Is Taken Down from the Cross and Placed in the Arms of His Mother

R. His totally lifeless body was placed in the arms of His most loving Mother. As she had held the little baby body in her arms, she now received His bloodied, bruised body in her arms. This is how He obeyed the Father's Will. Jesus gave His life for us. The Father gave His only Son because He loves us so much. Mary, His Mother, our Mother and the Mother of the Church, is forever by His side. See Jesus in the arms of His loving Mother under the cross. This is love.

I held His lifeless body in my arms. See through my eyes the love He has for you this day. He gives Himself to you today in the Eucharist. He loves you so much!

14. Jesus Is Locked in the Tomb

R. His enemies rolled the stone up to the tomb and were pleased to have buried Jesus. Mary, outside the tomb, wept bitterly. The cold reality that He was dead! But death has no power over Jesus for on the third day He rose, triumphant, from the tomb! We are partakers in His divine life. Death has no power over Jesus. He is with us this day. He comes to bring us life to the full. He loves us so much!

                Jesus carried His cross —
laden with the sins of the world —
                    God created us —

Everything went on as usual —
                    During this Jesus was being
                    executed for our
                    sins —
                    for our indifference
                    for our selfishness
                    for our hatred
for our seeking dominance for dominance sake
                    for our combatal argumentation
                    for our revenge
                    for our punitiveness

Jesus carried the cross with our sins

Jesus carried the sins of the
                    world —

As He walked with a heart
                    of love

We act some of us heartlessly —
cold hearts — stone hearts —
                    hard hearts — malice —
                    Jesus carried our sins

Jesus went to His death —
                Jesus greeted His Mother
Jesus greeted the women and their

                    Jesus collapsed
Jesus is nailed to the cross —
                    Jesus who is love

The Son of God is stripped of
                    His garments

                Look at Adam and Eve
they were naked in the garden —
                    He clothed them —

Jesus is raised up on a cross
                    the New Adam —

Jesus is crucified with 2 robbers

                How is your heart —
                    rebuking Jesus?

                How are our hearts
angry — like these angry men
as Jesus dies on the cross —

                Jesus thirsted for our love
                Jesus cries out
                    "Bring Me Souls"

Psalm 22: 1, 8-9, 17-20, 23-24

The sufferings and hopes of the upright

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

‘He trusted himself to Yahweh, let Yahweh set him free!
Let him deliver him, as he took such delight in him.’

It was you who drew me from the womb
and soothed me on my mother’s breast.

I can count every one of my bones,
while they look on and gloat;
they divide my garments among them
and cast lots for my clothing.

Yahweh, do not hold aloof!
My strength, come quickly to my help,
rescue my soul from the sword,
the one life I have from the grasp of the dog!

‘You who fear Yahweh, praise him!
All the race of Jacob, honour him!
Revere him, all the race of Israel!’

For he has not despised
nor disregarded the poverty of the poor,
has not turned away his face,
but has listened to the cry for help.

Sin is separating us from God
                Sin separates us from others

                Jesus was put to death

Let us kneel and adore this
                    generous God

Mark 15: 42-47

It was now evening, and since it was Preparation Day—that is, the day before the Sabbath—there came Joseph of Arimathaea, a prominent member of the Council, who himself lived in the hope of seeing the kingdom of God, and he boldly went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Pilate, astonished that he should have died so soon, summoned the centurion and enquired if he had been dead for some time. Having been assured of this by the centurion, he granted the corpse to Joseph who bought a shroud, took Jesus down from the cross, wrapped him in the shroud and laid him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock. He then rolled a stone against the entrance to the tomb. Mary of Magdala and Mary the mother of Joset took note of where he was laid.

                Jesus really died

                Many are dead in sin

Words of Jesus to Members of
Shepherds of Christ Associates:

"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.

"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.

"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."

- Message from Jesus to Father Edward J. Carter, S.J., Founder, as given on July 31, 1994,
feast of Saint Ignatius Loyola, Founder of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits)
