                R. Flying is a great gift to us, that we
can come from one place far away and
go to another place, very quickly. We
cannot fly ourselves and yet we can get
on a plane and fly. We have limits
what we can do. We can jump in a body
of water and we can float in the
water, like that, but we cannot do that
in the air. We know we cannot do certain
things. A man can jump from a plane
in the air, but he needs a parachute
to help him float in the air or he would
get hurt, just jumping in the air, but
a scuba diver can jump and float in
the water, but if he stays too long
he must use oxygen and take that
and other precautions. A man can
drive up a mountain and ski down
the mountain, but he just can't
jump out in the air. We have to
observe certain things we can and
cannot do. Flying in the air we just
                can't do without some equipment.
Birds fly by nature – they have wings
and fish swim in the water. Fish
belong in the water, by nature.

God the Father created these and
God the Father has a plan for us.
In the apex of creation we see man
is above the fish and the birds.
Fish and birds can do things we
don't do, but we have the capability
of talking and making decisions and
God created us this way. We have a
human nature. We were created by God
                with a human nature.

                R. God is the Creator –
                    God is absolute perfection –
                    God has the plan –

This is one of my favorite writings of
                    Fr. Carter's because he addresses
mystery -- and God is the ultimate
                    mystery –

Excerpt from Response to God's Love by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.

... In reference to Christianity, God himself is the ultimate mystery. Radically, God is completely other and transcendent, hidden from man in his inner life, unless he chooses to reveal himself. Let us briefly look at this inner life of God.

The Father, in a perfect act of self-expression, in a perfect act of knowing, generates his son. The Son, the Word, is, then, the immanent expression of God's fullness, the reflection of the Father. Likewise, from all eternity, the Father and the Son bring forth the Holy Spirit in a perfect act of loving.

At the destined moment in human history, God's self-expression, the Word, immersed himself into man's world. God's inner self-expression now had also become God's outer self-expression. Consequently, the mystery of God becomes the mystery of Christ. In Christ, God tells us about himself, about his inner life, about his plan of creation and redemption. He tells us how Father, Son, and Holy Spirit desire to dwell within us in the most intimate fashion, how they wish to share with us their own life through grace. All this he has accomplished and does accomplish through Christ.

end of excerpt

                R. We see such beauty given to us in
creation – We see our United States in
such beauty – the rolling hills of green,
the mountains with snow, the beauty
of the waters, the oceans and lakes,
we see the wonders of this earth. We
know the beauty of a child being formed
in a mother's womb and how God
cares for us and all the animals and
birds of the air, the fish of the sea.
We see and we believe in God who
is above us and who keeps our
heart beating today and gives us
                life.

The Father's Will for Us - Our Source of Peace

  • Pope John Paul II instructs us: "The Church, as a reconciled and reconciling community, cannot forget that at the source of her gift and mission of reconciliation is the initiative, full of compassionate love and mercy, of that God who is love (see 1 John 4:8) and who out of love created human beings (see Wisdom 11:23-26; Genesis 1:27: Psalms 8:4-8)…He created them so that they might live in friendship with Him and in communion with one another.

"God is faithful to His eternal plan even when man, under the impulse of the evil one (see Wisdom 2:24) and carried away by his own pride, abuses the freedom given to him in order to love and generously seek what is good, and (instead) refuses to obey his Lord and Father. God is faithful even when man, instead of responding with love to God’s love, opposes Him and treats Him like a rival, deluding himself and relying on his own power, with the resulting break of relationship with the One who created him. In spite of this transgression on man’s part, God remains faithful in love.

"It is certainly true that the story of the Garden of Eden makes us think about the tragic consequences of rejecting the Father, which becomes evident in man’s inner disorder and in the breakdown of harmony between man and woman, brother and brother (see Genesis 3:12 ff; 4:1-16). Also significant is the Gospel parable of the two brothers (the parable of the ‘prodigal son’; see Luke 15:11-32) who, in different ways, distance themselves from their father and cause a rift between them. Refusal of God’s fatherly love and of His loving gifts is always at the root of humanity’s divisions.

"But we know that God…like the father in the parable (of the prodigal son), does not close His heart to any of His children. He waits for them, looks for them, goes to meet them at the place where the refusal of communion imprisons them in isolation and division. He calls them to gather about His table in the joy of the feast of forgiveness and reconciliation.

"This initiative on God’s part is made concrete and manifest in the redemptive act of Christ, which radiates through the world by means of the ministry of the Church." 13

13. Pope John Paul II, as in Celebrate 2000!, Servant Publications, pp. 140-141.

                R. Do you love to hear the rain when
it comes and it hits the roof and
waters the flowers and the earth
and is much needed. Do you love to see
the little one with little thoughts and
                imaginative games and making a
puzzle or just learning games or
playing with the simplest things in
what is now, it seems to me, such
                a complicated, chaotic world.

Do we watch beauty such as these
listed above and then see men fight
the basic principles of justice and
                prudence and love for selfishness
and jealousies and pride and anger
and other ugliness, such as hatred
                and destruction, stubbornness and
                malice against innocent others for
                one's own anger and darkness.

Where does this take us – when the command
of the Creator of us is this – it is to love
and we have been commanded to do so
and told how much God loves us –

Mark 12: 28-34

One of the scribes who had listened to them debating appreciated that Jesus had given a good answer and put a further question to him, ‘Which is the first of all the commandments? Jesus replied, ‘This is the first: Listen, Israel, the Lord our God is the one, only Lord, and you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: You must love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these. The scribe said to him, ‘Well spoken, Master; what you have said is true, that he is one and there is no other. To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and strength, and to love your neighbour as yourself, this is far more important than any burnt offering or sacrifice. Jesus, seeing how wisely he had spoken, said, ‘You are not far from the kingdom of God.’ And after that no one dared to question him any more.

Cling to Me

May 13, 1993

Jesus: My dear child, if you stay close to Me, then I live in you and you live in Me. I am He Who created you and I love you with such an intensity that you will never know. My words are your truth. You must abide in My heart in all things. There is no room for doubt. My ways are steadfast, direct, and without error.

You must stay rooted in Me to ward off the power of the evil one. His grip is paralyzing and crippling. His power is stronger every day.

When you live in Me, I am in your heart and he has no power over Me. I am your God. I am your true lover. I want to protect you. I want to guard you from this force. Stay rooted firmly in Me and he will have no power.

I am He Who comforts you. My hand is upon you. Hold tight to Me, My child. My eyes are fixed right on you. You are My most precious child. I love you as no other can. My arms are about you. My tenderness surrounds you. My love is in your heart. You go not alone. I walk with you.

I share every aspect of your life with you. Cling to Me, feel My presence. It is warm and secure within your chest. There is no room for fear, for I cast out fear and bring you comfort and joy.

Seek True Treasures

February 17, 1994 5:30 a.m.

Jesus: My little ones, how are you doing? Are you getting bogged down in this weather? Do you know yet that you do not control the elements? You live every day and you think you have much to do to control your actions but you do not see the eyes of Him Who watches over you with loving care.

I give to you this earth and all you need to sustain your life here. Man worries about the earth and if this or that will happen. Man has become so independent that he thinks he controls all things and he needs to worry about his present and future.

You, My favored, chosen ones, know that life here lasts but a moment and like smoke it is gone without a trace. Look at your ancestors. So few people ever remember their ancestors, yet your ancestors thought that at every moment their actions were so crucial. Little ones, you hold on to life. You hold on to these little happenings here and you worry in vain! Look at the big picture, My little ones. Here today, gone tomorrow, and where are you going?

The days go by with such speed. "Oh," you say, "Where have the years gone?" You think every second is so important. You worry, you fret, you wander empty roads and I watch you. I see you with your emphasis on the moment. You are being deceived, My little ones. It is in seeing the moment as part of eternity that you really know what is going on. Each moment you live, you are the teacher about the God Who dwells in your breast. Each moment you live, you are My messenger to this cold, scared world. Nothing you do means anything except as you are serving Me.

Take off your glasses. Behold the life above. See every moment as a drop of the life to come. See every moment as part of eternity. All these drops together make up your pass into My kingdom.

You worry, you wonder, you fret, you hold on. I give you a toothache, I take it away. One second and a toothache is gone. Is that not how it is with life--one second and it is gone? Oh, how those little precious moments seem to die away and you scarce can remember what happened! Yet during people's lives those moments seem earth-shattering. Those moments are yesterday's forgotten memories. You hold on, you fret, you fume and I watch you let go of each moment, only to become forgotten by today.

Store up your moments as part of eternity. Every moment here is part of your pass to My kingdom. How are you living this moment? Is it used to give service to Me and preach My gospel? Are you making all your moments count towards your eternity? Each moment is but a breath and it is gone. Did you use the moment I gave you to do My work? This time is not yours. I can snatch your moments away in one breath. It matters, My children, only as you choose to serve Me and spread My love!

If everyone had God as their primary goal, what love you would possess. What power you would know, because God is the mightiest force. I have all the power. Other power is false power!

Do you get it yet? Do you think anything you hold on to is so precious here? Here today, gone tomorrow, and I snatch you from your seats and you never return to finish what you deemed so important.

Are you comprehending My words here? The body is but an instrument to get you around. Reach with the spirit within. Live from the soul. Communicate with Me in your soul. Look for the unseen world that surrounds you constantly. Die to yourself.

You have a soul at this very moment that is a vibrant spiritual force alive within you. Live from your soul, My little ones. Focus on your soul. Live from your heart. Do not fret and fume for the things of this world. Here today, gone tomorrow, and then forgotten. Today's moments, yesterday's forgotten treasures. Do they mean so much or do you forget what seemed so important?

Reach with the soul. Live for God. Each moment is your chance to store up treasures for eternity. They will never be forgotten. What you do to help others to know Me will never be forgotten. How you loved will never be forgotten. How you gave lives on in those you touched. Your love is like a bubbling brook. It bubbles and keeps on bubbling. Your selfishness dies the moment after you live it.

Love is the force. Love is the power that reflects the God above. Love is not selfish. Love does not demand its own way. Love gives and doesn't stop giving. On the day of judgment it will be found in the hearts of those you touched. Think of only yourself and watch your moments become yesterday's forgotten moments. Love your brothers and watch the world reflect the love you gave, from now to the end.

Love or selfishness? I call you to love. I call you to plant a seed that grows into a mighty oak. Plant My seeds of love. Ask not how you can attain your goal but how you can fulfill the goal of God. Love God, love one another. Too simple, too hard for many.

Love, children. Reflect the God Who dwells within your soul. Store up your moments forever lest they become yesterday's forgotten treasure.

Like ripples on a pond, your love never dies. It reaches on and on and goes into the moments of eternity. Love is lasting. Love never dies. Love God, love one another. Die to yourself and live.

                R. To much that has been given, much
                will be expected.

                    An attitude of Gratitude

                    A heart likened to Jesus

Song: Give Me Your Heart oh Jesus

                R. God has shown us His love –

                Song: A Song from Jesus

                R. What ways have we, through our free
wills, used to dress our thoughts –
have we dressed our thoughts in beauty
and purity to come to the wedding banquet
                God has prepared for us?

Do we see our gifts given, as in the
Church in China to have the Exposed
Eucharist – Jesus truly present in His
Divinity and humanity in the Eucharist.

Do we ponder the will of God and
turn our hearts to the light by pure
and loving thoughts of God and others,
praying for right reasoning to have a
                heart more like Jesus.

Do we seek the truth because God is
                absolute truth?

We have a free will to act in anger
toward innocent others and to hold onto
anger projected and directed at others
because we use the gift of the free will
God has given us, to think thoughts of
blaming and hatred, for our own deep
seated anger that becomes us – when
God has called us to love – to have
thoughts about how great He is
and how much He has blessed us –
in the United States, in our vocation,
in our gifts with each others.

The heart may grow sad at not
being with one they love, but they love
them, they do not try to destroy the love
they have for them, by punishment
for the separation. They are loyal to love,
they want hearts of peace and joy.

I remember Fr. Joe giving a daily morning
                homily on anger.

He said anger against our neighbor,
that we nurse, is wrong. He said that
people who were abused can hold onto
anger and nurse it and how wrong
it is. That a person, tempted in anger,
is to pray for help from God to let
go of it. But a person, settled in on
anger and wanting it – is not a
loving person – how can they love
God and treat their brothers with
love, when they harbor and nurse
resentment and anger as a way of life,
when God commands us to love Him
with our whole heart, our whole soul
and our whole being and love our
neighbor as ourselves. Our free will
is all about choosing charity and
loving as God wants us to be –
                God is love –

Consecrating our hearts to the Hearts
of Jesus and Mary mean consecrating
our hearts to the Hearts of perfect love.

The devil comes to try to steal our peace
and get us focused on something
that will tear down a bridge
that God wants us to build.

The devil never stops – he tries to
tear down whatever he can get away
                    with.

I remember a song I used to play on the
organ "For the beauty of the Earth"
Isn't it such a gift we have what
God has given us in baptism that
we share in His life, share in
                His Divine life and our
                knowing and loving capacity is
elevated so we can know and
                love supernaturally, but that
                takes God –

                    When satan comes and tempts
us to hold onto anger  because we
are angry inside ourselves – we
have to pray like Fr. Joe said to not have
a weak will and give into satan's
                temptations.

Love is love – like the invisible
string – it is constant and the love
of God for whom we love – overflows
in our hearts to gratitude for all
                His blessings to us.

We are people who are growing
more and more in our image and
likeness to God in giving Jesus
and Mary our hearts in consecration.
This is the Mission of the Shepherds of
Christ to spread the love of these Two
Hearts through consecration to the world.

Priestly Newsletter Book II - September/October 1997

Scriptural Reflections

In all this Mary offers an example. Selfishness was totally foreign to her. She did not belong to herself. She belonged to God. She was not closed in upon herself. She was completely open to God. When God spoke, she listened. When God pointed the way, she followed. She realized that life is not a process a person masters by carefully mapping out one's own self-conceived plans of conquest, but a mystery to be gradually experienced by being open to God's personal and loving guidance.

Selfishness, then, did not close Mary off from God's call. Neither did fear. God asked her to assume a tremendous responsibility. He asked her to be the Mother of Jesus. Mary did not engage in a process of false humility and say that such a great role was above her. She did not say that she did not have the proper qualifications for this awesome mission. Briefly, she did not waste time looking at herself, making pleas that she was not worthy, telling the angel he had better go look for someone else. No, Mary did not look at herself. Her gaze was absorbed in God. She fully realized that whatever God asked of her, His grace would accomplish. She fully realized that although she herself had to cooperate, this work was much more God's than hers.

Mary's words, then, truly sum up what is the authentic Christian response at any point of life, in any kind of situation: "I am the handmaid of the Lord," said Mary, "let what you have said be done to me".

                R. The priests we have in this Movement,
Fr. Carter, Fr. Joe, Fr. Mike have
                    taught us through their lives
                    about love and peace.

The priests: Monsignor and Fr. Ken who
help us in Florida and China: Fr. Frank,
Fr. Don, Fr. Cyprian, Fr. Shawn, Fr. Allen,
Fr. Jerry, Fr. Bill, Fr. Chris and all our
priests that help us, have shown us
true love in how they help
                    us and conduct themselves.

                Love builds!

                God is love –

                Anger is a deadly sin!

                Jealousy is a deadly sin!

Envy and pride are deadly sins!

                We are so loved.

God has loved us into existence.

We need to pray in this retreat for
the country we love the United
States and pray with a pure and
                    holy heart for the priests,
                    the Church and the world.

                Love is constant –

Love doesn't exist in love and
                    hate relationships where we
are angry and project it on
others because we want to hold
onto anger because it is in
us and we hug it and nurse it
and project it at people who
love us – what do we want?

I remember Fr. Carter was so loving
                    to every one –

Fr. Joe is like this –

Fr. Mike helps me – he is a
                    real witness.

We need to pray for our country
in deep oneness to Jesus –
Jesus prayed for His apostles –

Jesus went off to pray –

Again the past two nights I
saw Our Lady pray with us –
                    through the powerful intercession
of Our Lady of Clearwater we pray –

We are people one with Jesus –
Consecrated to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary –

We are given such a gift in
                    baptism to love supernaturally –

We pray for the virtues –

We focus on the Holy Spirit and ask Him
to fill us with the fire
                    of God's love –

We have been raised up in Him –

                God is love –

                An attitude of gratitude

                R. Thank You God – help us to be
                    full of love seeking
                    greater insight into the
depth of love – into the
                    mystery of God –
                    so much to see –
the vision of God's love –

Prayer for Union with Jesus

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.

I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

Words of Jesus. Read before the Tabernacle.

Jesus:  How, child, do I, Jesus, tell you I love you? You hold on to silly things when God is in your midst and is ardently loving you. I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I am writing to each precious child this day. I am on fire for love of you. I remain in the Eucharist to be with you with My ardent love. I did not want to leave My beloved ones at the Last Supper. I love you so, My dear and ardently loved children. I remain with you this day in the Blessed Sacrament, the same Jesus Who died a brutal death on the Cross.

Do you know I am truly present there? Do you know that God waits every day for you in the tabernacle? Do you comprehend even a minute amount of My love? You will never know of how I love you on earth.

I, Jesus, truly the Son of God, came to earth a man and suffered a brutal death for love of you. I love you so much! I remain with you this day. I long for your love. I want you to come and be with Me in front of the tabernacle. I wait, I yearn for you to come and whisper your love to Me. I am a person and I love you this day, with such an ardent on-fire love! No human could ever compare a speck to My love for you.

I wait, little ones, in the tabernacle. I wait for you to come and receive Me in Communion. I want you to want Me so much you cannot wait to come and receive Me. I want to be the love, the center of your life!

I am Jesus. I am the Son of God. I am writing to you this day. I want to possess your very soul and live in you. I have all you need, sweet ones. Oh, you are so blind! I long for your union with Me. I wrote the book of love. I instituted it, yet you go to the world for your love and do not even come to Me! Oh, I love you, little ones. Little ones, beloved of the Father, loved by the Holy Spirit, mothered by My very own mother! What more can I say? The rest is up to you!

I give you your will with such love and I want your love freely given. I am God. What do you think you could ever need that I do not give you? I am the Savior of this world. I am Jesus, the Son of God. I am waiting for you. I am longing for you. I am yearning for you. I am God. I have all you ever will need!

Surrender this life to Me. Pray My Prayer for Union with Me. I want to possess your soul and operate from your very being. I am Jesus. I am the Son of God. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I am Who am. I died and rose on the third day.

Harken to My call, harken to My pleading. Spend your days in love with Me. Nothing matters unless it is rooted in Me and rooted in My love. I am the Son of God. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I love you with the tenderest love. I am waiting this day for just you, My beloved one. Come to Me for I am the tenderest of all hearts. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
