Call Doris

                Given August 19, 2014

                R. Sometimes I go before the
                Blessed Sacrament and want to
                light a candle. Some vigil
                light candles are lighted and
                burn and burn brightly until
                they are done. Sometimes a
wick is so inverted you can't
get it to light – NO matter how
                hard you try.

Some light - a little light and
                then go out.

                    There are so many roads
we can travel in our journey
                on earth.

God the Father did not create
us without a plan – He
created us in His image and
likeness and gave us a free
will – He gave us talents to
do His work. God the Father loved
us into existence – He created
us in love – to be instruments
                of love.

God the Father sent Jesus into this
                world to teach us about
                God's love. Jesus shows
                us His Heart consumed
and burning in love for men –
                Jesus came our Savior –
Jesus died so we could be
                    saved and be with Him
                    in celestial love for
                    all eternity –

                We have over 86,000
seconds - every day to live
here in love and to spread
                    God's Kingdom and help others
to get to heaven. We can
do God's will – or oppose
                    God's will. When we fight
                    God we are dark inside,
                    full of misery and everything
                    we do comes from this
                    disposition to do it
                    against God. "What a
                    bummer!" And since we
are not an island we hurt
                    the people in our family,
                    our community, the world –

Jesus: A man was so dark and so
angry he wanted to shut down
the home he lived in – People
wanted to love and sing and help
                    each other and like scrooge
he was angered by their joy.
He wanted to show them – he
could shut out their joy – he
had the power to shut them
down – He failed to see he
                    would be shutting down his
                    own operation.

                The devil wants to oppose,
tear down – he will never go
to heaven and never have love –

The devil has a hell full
of souls who gave into the
                    deception of satan – when
God loves us so much and offers
                    us forgiveness and mercy and
                    God promises us a heavenly
reward to those who love and
                    serve the Lord.

                At Fatima Mary showed the
3 children hell and gave this
                    message

From Fatima Peace Plan — Tan Books p.4-5.

July 13, 1917

THE CHILDREN SEE HELL

As she spoke these words, Our Lady stretched out her hands, and bright rays came forth which seemed to penetrate into the earth. All at once the ground vanished, and the children found themselves standing on the brink of a sea of fire. As they peered into this dreadful place, the terrified youngsters saw huge numbers of devils and damned souls. The devils resembled hideous black animals, each filling the air with despairing shrieks. The damned souls were in their human bodies and seemed to be brown in color, tumbling about constantly in the flames and screaming with terror. All were on fire within and without their bodies, and neither devils nor damned souls seemed able to control their movements. They were tossing about in the flames like fiery coals in a furnace. There was never an instant's peace or freedom from pain.

Excerpt from The Spirituality of Fatima

by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.

July 13, 1917

"During her appearance in July, Our Lady, in answer to Lucia's plea, promised that in October she would work a great miracle so that all might believe and know who she was. Again, the Mother of God told the children to sacrifice themselves for sinners and to say many times, especially when making a sacrifice, this prayer: "O my Jesus, I offer this for love of Thee, for the conversion of poor sinners, and in reparation for all the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary." (11)

"During this same July apparition, Mary showed the three children a vision of Hell. She told them:

"You have seen Hell, where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish, in the world, devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If people do what I tell you, many souls will be saved and there will be peace.

"The war (World War I, then raging) is going to end. But if people do not stop offending God, another and worse one will begin in the reign of Pius XI. When you shall see a night illuminated by an unknown light [January 2, 1938], know that this is the great sign that God gives you that He is going to punish the world for its many crimes by means of war, hunger, and persecution of the Church and the Holy Father. (12)

"To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the Communion of Reparation on the five first Saturdays. If my requests are granted, Russia will be converted and there will be peace. If not, she will scatter her errors throughout the world, provoking wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, and various nations will be destroyed....

"But in the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph, the Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, Russia will be converted, and a certain period of peace will be granted to the world." (13)

                R. God the Father sent Mary a
                    messenger at Fatima to
warn us about World War II –
                    66,000,000 were
                    slaughtered – killed –
We did not heed Mary's warning.

The devil is crafty – he uses
                    anger and punishment to veil
his evil plan. He is a
liar – so if the balance
of money is $0 – he lies
to make it another number –
                    He uses manipulation to
                    create a scenario to make
people suffer and be punished and
                    he wants people to give
                    into him to rise over
what is just and take out
just rules in the one he
                    enslaves to his evil
                    designs –

                    He hides that God gives
                authority and structure and blesses
                those who work in harmony
                with God.

                    When a person opposes
                God they bring down darkness
and misery on themselves as they
                become more and more angry
                the more they drive themselves
                from God –

                They are angry because they
                    have taken God out of
                    their lives by choosing
                    darkness, sin, anger –
                    making what God gives
                    us as gifts – enemies
                    they fight against.

Sounds like Eve in the Garden –
She had all these gifts and
                    she fought God –

                She wanted to be equal
                    to God –

She listened to satan's deception and
we know what God said –

Genesis Chapter 3

Now, the snake was the most subtle of all the wild animals that Yahweh God had made. It asked the woman, 'Did God really say you were not to eat from any of the trees in the garden?' The woman answered the snake, 'We may eat the fruit of the trees in the garden. But of the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden God said, "You must not eat it, nor touch it, under pain of death." ' Then the snake said to the woman, 'No! You will not die! God knows in fact that the day you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like gods, knowing good from evil.' The woman saw that the tree was good to eat and pleasing to the eye, and that it was enticing for the wisdom that it could give. So she took some of its fruit and ate it. She also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they realised that they were naked. So they sewed fig-leaves together to make themselves loin-cloths.

The man and his wife heard the sound of Yahweh God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from Yahweh God among the trees of the garden. But Yahweh God called to the man. 'Where are you?' he asked. 'I heard the sound of you in the garden,' he replied. 'I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.' 'Who told you that you were naked?' he asked. 'Have you been eating from the tree I forbade you to eat?' The man replied, 'It was the woman you put with me; she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.' Then Yahweh God said to the woman, 'Why did you do that?' The woman replied, 'The snake tempted me and I ate.'

Then Yahweh God said to the snake, 'Because you have done this,

    Accursed be you
of all animals wild and tame!
On your belly you will go
and on dust you will feed
    as long as you live.
    I shall put enmity
    between you and the woman,
    and between your offspring and hers;
    it will bruise your head
and you will strike its heel.'

    To the woman he said:

I shall give you intense pain
        in childbearing,
you will give birth to your children
        in pain.
Your yearning will be for your husband,
    and he will dominate you.

To the man he said, 'Because you listened to the voice of your wife and ate from the tree of which I had forbidden you to eat,

Accursed be the soil because of you!
Painfully will you get your food from it
    as long as you live.
It will yield you brambles and thistles,
as you eat the produce of the land.
By the sweat of your face

    will you earn you food,
until you return to the ground,
as you were taken from it.
    For dust you are
and to dust you shall return.

The man named his wife 'Eve' because she was the mother of all those who live. Yahweh God made tunics of skins for the man and his wife and clothed them. Then Yahweh God said, 'Now that the man has become like one of us in knowing good from evil, he must not be allowed to reach out his hand and pick from the tree of life too, and eat and live for ever!' So Yahweh God expelled him from the garden of Eden, to till the soil from which he had been taken. He banished the man, and in front of the garden of Eden he posted the great winged creatures and the fiery flashing sword, to guard the way to the tree of life.

                R. He still loved Adam and Eve
                    despite their sin –

God promised in the Old Testament
                    to send a Redeemer,
                    but He gave us the
                    Commandments –

                He called Abraham and Isaac
                    and Joseph and Moses and
they were faithful to Him –

                And God promised Abraham He
                    would bless Him and give
                    Him descendants as
                    numerous as the stars
                    in the sky –

                And God said –

Genesis 12: 1-3

Yahweh said to Abram, ‘Leave your country, your kindred and your father’s house for a country which I shall show you; and I shall make you a great nation, I shall bless you and make your name famous; you are to be a blessing!

I shall bless those who bless you,
and shall curse those who curse you,
   and all clans on earth
   will bless themselves by you.’

                R. Yes! God is ALL Good!!

God takes us back when we
                    confess our sins and
ask Him to forgive us and
                    we tell Him we don't
                    want to sin again –

                Come with a firm purpose
                    of amendment –

                God is –

                God the Father:

                    I Am – the I Am –
To those who sin – they
act as Eve in the Garden
trying to hide from God –
                    thinking I don't know
                    every thought and the
                    ways of your heart –

                Don't fool yourselves –

I know the hearts of love
like My Mother and Jesus and
                    I know the sins in
                    vengeance and punishment
                    in the tainted, closed down
                    hearts of the wicked.

                I am God – I read your hearts –
                    I know your secrets –

                Vengeance is Mine
                    says the Lord

Ezekiel 34: 11-16

“For the Lord Yahweh says this: Look, I myself shall take care of my flock and look after it. As a shepherd looks after his flock when he is with his scattered sheep, so shall I look after my sheep. I shall rescue them from wherever they have been scattered on the day of clouds and darkness. I shall bring them back from the peoples where they are; I shall gather them back from the countries and bring them back to their own land. I shall pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in all the inhabited parts of the country. I shall feed them in good pasturage; the highest mountains of Israel will be their grazing ground. There they will rest in good grazing grounds; they will browse in rich pastures on the mountains of Israel. I myself shall pasture my sheep, I myself shall give them rest–declares the Lord Yahweh. I shall look for the lost one, bring back the stray, bandage the injured and make the sick strong. I shall watch over the fat and healthy. I shall be a true shepherd to them."

God the Father: Vengeance is Mine, says
                    the Lord –

                I will pasture the strayed
                    ones home –

                Those who oppose Me with
                    wicked hearts will know
                    the condemnation and
                    gnashing of teeth –

                I am a just God –

                I Am, the I Am –

                Without a beginning
                Without an end –

                I Am and
                Some love Me as is
                    My Will and
                the foolish oppose Me
                    and give their
                    power to satan –
                    False power

                Jesus: I am the way,
                    the truth and the
                    life.

The Holy Spirit loves you so much
Pray to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit –
I dwell in the graced, baptized
                    soul.

                Life is in Me –

Cling to Me

May 13, 1993

Jesus: My dear child, if you stay close to Me, then I live in you and you live in Me. I am He Who created you and I love you with such an intensity that you will never know. My words are your truth. You must abide in My heart in all things. There is no room for doubt. My ways are steadfast, direct, and without error.

You must stay rooted in Me to ward off the power of the evil one. His grip is paralyzing and crippling. His power is stronger every day.

When you live in Me, I am in your heart and he has no power over Me. I am your God. I am your true lover. I want to protect you. I want to guard you from this force. Stay rooted firmly in Me and he will have no power.

I am He Who comforts you. My hand is upon you. Hold tight to Me, My child. My eyes are fixed right on you. You are My most precious child. I love you as no other can. My arms are about you. My tenderness surrounds you. My love is in your heart. You go not alone. I walk with you.

I share every aspect of your life with you. Cling to Me, feel My presence. It is warm and secure within your chest. There is no room for fear, for I cast out fear and bring you comfort and joy.

                August 20, 2014

Jesus: A person that is living likened
to God is united in working together
                with others.

There are 3 Person in One God.

A person who is working for God
is under authority and giving the
information they are to pass upward,
in love, in serving those over
them in helping to build the business,
                the community.

People are to work as we see
with one another with their talents.
They are to do what those over them
tell them to do in that structure.
The person in charge has the
Plan, the way others are to
                cooperate in unity, support
                and being faithful, truthful
                and serving the business
                institution for growth, for
                advancement for why it exists.

In an army a commander had
                to decide when bombs were
planted off shore by the enemy
to attack. Millions could have been
destroyed by the bombs hours away.

                    A man under the commander
did his own thing opposing the
                commander and threatening the
lives of the millions by his
                disobedience and arrogance.

                    I have commended men
what to do. I work in structure,
                I am operating through priests,
the pope hierarchy I call. I
give you laws to follow –

A man under one in authority
is to obey – not argue, not do
                another thing, not discredit
                authority, not tell people under
him what to do and tell them to
keep it away from the authority.

Satan can work in a person
                so obstinate like the Pharaoh
with Moses. I told the Pharaoh
through Moses to let My People Go.

                I sent the Plagues
                    the River of Blood
                    the Frogs
                    the Lice
                    Murrain of animals
                    Boils
                    Hail, rain & storm
                    Locusts
                    Darkness for 3 days
                    Death of the Firstborn

                The Pharaoh rejected God,
                    even after the death of
                    the firstborn.

                Moses and Aaron demanded to
                    let the people go –

I divided the Red Sea to let
                    My People Go –

                Pharaoh was obstinate –

                The Egyptian army was
                    closed in by the
                    Red Sea

God gave to you the Covenant
                    on Mt. Sinai – the
                    10 Commandments –

There are those who I turn to today and
say – let go of My things
                    you hold bound and
                    their obstinacy is so
                        great –
                    They will not listen to
                        Me when God speaks

I am the Lord thy God –
Thou shalt not have other gods before Me –

Some serve satan as a god –

In doing My work, they can
                    challenge authority and
                    fight and be an instrument
                    for satan as he operates
                    in them –

I created the world in six days
and on the 7th day I rested and
I told you to keep holy the
                    Sabbath day.

                Thou shalt not steal
Thou shalt not bear false witness
                    against your neighbor

Thou shalt not covet your neighbor's
                    house –
                    thou shalt not covet thy
                        neighbor's wife nor
                        anything that belongs
                        to your neighbor.

                R. When Moses came down from
                    Mt. Sinai they were
                    worshipping a golden calf
                    and Moses was angry and
                    threw the tablets because
                    of their actions –

Moses the next day went up
                    the mountain and asked
                    for a pardon for himself
                    and the people –

                Moses received new tablets –

                Moses came down after
                    40 days and his face
                    was shining.

Moses put a veil on his face –

                There were over 600,000 men.

                Joshua soon led the
                    people to the Promised Land.

Joshua passed the River Jordan and
                    entered Canaan.

                The Israelites sunk into idolatry.
                    Joshua had died –

                God delivered the Israelites to
                    the hands of the Philistines
                    and Amorites –
they had given into idolatry –
after all God did for them –
                    God taught them –
                    God lead them –
                    God gave them the Commandments.

                Samson sleighed 1,000 Philistines –

                When the Israelites were obeying
                    God they won –

                When the Israelites fought
                    God - they suffered –

                God was forming His people
to be faithful to Him –

                The Philistines are defeated
                    by Samuel –

                Saul was anointed by Samuel.

                Saul defeated the Philistines –

Then Saul was disobedient to God
                    with regard to Amalikites.

                David is born –

                David was 22 when he
                    was anointed by
                    Samuel as King after Saul.

Saul gets more and more evil –
                Saul was jealous of David
                Saul wanted David dead!

                David wins over the Philistines.

                David committed adultery and
sets up the death of Uriah –

                Solomon was born

                Absalom rebelled against David.

                Solomon builds the Temple –

                Solomon was unfaithful
                    in the end worshipping
                    false gods himself.

                There is famine at different
                    times

                Elijah tells of famine
                    in Israel –

                Micah warns of false
                    prophets –

Elijah is taken to heaven –

                Fights continue

                Jeremiah is prophet –

Sixteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time

July 19, 2009

HOMILY: There was a man who worked in a museum whose job it was to explain the different exhibits. On one occasion he pointed to the bones of a dinosaur saying the bones were 100 million and 9 years old. Someone asked how they could date those bones so accurately. He said “well, when I started working here, I was told these bones were 100 million years old and I’ve worked here for nine years.”

Today I want to give everyone a little history lesson. I’m not going back to the dinosaurs, but I am going back pretty far – to King David, 1000 years before Christ. When I was in school, I hated history. It wasn’t until we studied the history of the Old Testament in the seminary that I began to appreciate it. I cannot cram 1000 years of history into a couple of minutes. I just want to touch on the parts of Jewish history that are mentioned in today’s reading. If you want to learn more, read everything in the Old Testament, but be sure you have a commentary to help you. Otherwise, you’ll give up in despair because you won’t know what it’s all about - especially the prophets and the historical books.

When David was king 1000 years before Christ, David wanted to build a house for God, since there was no Temple for God at that time. God did not give David permission to do so, however God promised David through the prophet Nathan that he would bless him and build David a house in the sense that David’s kingdom would continue forever and one of his descendants would always rule. This blessing lasted through the reign of David’s son, Solomon; but we humans somehow have the ability to sabotage God’s blessings. Solomon turned to pagan gods and over-extended the country financially by elaborate building projects and exorbitant taxes, so when Solomon died there was a rebellion and most of Israel broke away from Solomon’s successor, David’s grandson, Rehoboam. Rehoboam continued to rule over the southern part of Israel, the area we know as Judaea . For 400 years (and this is amazing) the kings of Judaea were descendants of King David. The northern kingdom that rebelled against David’s successors suffered under a succession of kings and rebellions. In less than 300 years the northern kingdom was destroyed by the Assyrians, people from northern Iraq. About 100 years after that, the Babylonians from southern Iraq conquered the Assyrians and took control of the entire Middle East. The conquest of the Babylonians brings us up to Jeremiah whom we heard in today’s first reading. At the time of Jeremiah, here was the situation: the northern kingdom no longer existed. The southern kingdom, Judaea, was still being ruled by David’s descendants but they were not loyal to God or to God’s laws. Jeremiah spoke to these kings as they came into power, the last four being: Jehoahaz, Jehoiakim, Jehoikin and Zedekiah. Zedikiah, the last reigning king, died in disgrace. After the Babylonians captured him, his sons were slaughtered before his eyes, he was then blinded and led off to Babylon in chains where he presumably died. You can read how Jeremiah spoke with them in great detail in the book of Jeremiah. He told them exactly what they needed to do to survive the invading forces of Babylon. His messages were ignored. He blames them and their leadership for the destruction that came upon God’s people. As we heard in today’s first reading, God speaks through Jeremiah: “Woe to the shepherds who mislead and scatter the flock of my pasture.” God said he would take over shepherding his people; he would bring them back from exile; he would appoint leaders over them who would serve them well and lead them to peace and security. It took 600 years before God thought the world was ready for this king who would reign and govern wisely, who would do what is just and right in the land.

But then he came, through the announcement of an angel to a virgin who was engaged to a man named Joseph of the house of David, and the virgin’s name was Mary. And the angel said to her “Do not be afraid Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his Kingdom there will be no end.”

In last week’s gospel, Jesus sent his apostles out to heal and cast out demons and to call people to repentance. In today’s gospel we are told of their return, excited over their experience and tired. Jesus wanted to some time off, but he couldn’t. The mission of Jesus and his apostles apparently was so successful that a great crowd caught up with them before they had chance to catch their breath. Mark describes Jesus taking compassion on them (his heart was moved with deep sympathy for them would probably be a better translation). He saw them as sheep without a shepherd, - people without leadership, and he began to teach them.

One of the important messages in today’s readings is that in love our Lord leads us, by teaching us and appointing others to teach us. But we need to listen, and we need to keep on listening. We’ll never be finished listening and learning as long as our world suffers from injustice, poverty, hunger, discrimination, war, hatred and killing of innocent people. Christ would be put to death before he would stop teaching. It is to our own great loss when we stop listening. That’s one of the reasons we are here each weekend, to listen and to learn. We call ourselves disciples. The word disciple means learner. When we’ve quit learning, we’ve quit being a disciple.
