                R. God shows us He is Our Father by
                    giving us life –
God calls us to live life to be
loving, to be in God's image
                        and likeness.

Every person is called to grow
                    spiritually to progress
                    in sincere self knowledge
and to do penance for their
                    sins.

We are here to work on our eternal life
and to help others to get to
                    heaven.

                God gives us living water!

God calls us to share in His
life – to rise above our
                    wounded human nature and to
grow in the virtues. God gives
us a share in greater happiness –
happiness depends on life in God.

Christ is the new Adam. Christ paid
a precious price for the gift He
                    gave us.

John 3: 16

For this is how God loved the world:
he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
    may not perish
but may have eternal life.

                R. Christ came to give us life so we
                    could have abundant life –

                Song: I Love You Jesus

                R. Jesus' miracles were miracles
                    of life! Miracles of health
                    and sight and hearing.

Jesus is the Bread of Life –

Jesus is the vine we are the branches
life is in being one with
                    Jesus.

The sharing in His life is
                    supernatural life.

                It comes through union
                    with God –

                God loved us first –

                    Response to God's love –

We have a free will to
                        choose darkness or
                        to choose joy, happiness,
                        love in Him.

We can be in heaven for eternity,
                    it never ends, but we
                    must choose to live
                    by God's commandments –
                    the commandments of love –

Man is to be obedient to God –

Learn to be obedient to those
                    under God – over them.

The Church is to bring us to Christ –

Christ is the head of the
                    mystical body –

Jesus Christ is God – the Son of God –
Jesus became man – Jesus is
                    a Divine Person with two
                    Natures: a Human Nature
                                a Divine Nature –

                Jesus was born and lived
                    a hidden life for 30 years –

                The Sacred Heart devotion is
to show us the Love of
                    the Sacred Heart –
                    pure and perfect love.

Mark 7: 1-8, 14-15, 21-23

The Pharisees and some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem gathered round him, and they noticed that some of his disciples were eating with unclean hands, that is, without washing them. For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, keep the tradition of the elders and never eat without washing their arms as far as the elbow; and on returning from the market place they never eat without first sprinkling themselves. There are also many other observances which have been handed down to them to keep, concerning the washing of cups and pots and bronze dishes. So the Pharisees and scribes asked him, 'Why do your disciples not respect the tradition of the elders but eat their food with unclean hands?' He answered, 'How rightly Isaiah prophesied about you hypocrites in the passage of scripture:

    This people honours me
        only with lip-service,
while their hearts are far from me.
    Their reverence of me is worthless;
    the lessons they teach
        are nothing but human commandments.

You put aside the commandment of God to observe human traditions.

He called the people to him again and said, 'Listen to me, all of you, and understand. Nothing that goes into someone from outside can make that person unclean; it is the things that come out of someone that make that person unclean.

For it is from within, from the heart, that evil intentions emerge: fornication, theft, murder, adultery, avarice, malice, deceit, indecency, envy, slander, pride, folly. All these evil things come from within and make a person unclean.'

                R. We are to be in the image and
                    likeness of God –

                Jesus is love –
                Jesus taught love –
                Jesus showed us obedience
Jesus laid down His life for us
                Jesus showed us about loving
                    each other –

What we do to others –
                    we do to Jesus

Excerpt from Response to God's Love by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.

... In reference to Christianity, God himself is the ultimate mystery. Radically, God is completely other and transcendent, hidden from man in his inner life, unless he chooses to reveal himself. Let us briefly look at this inner life of God.

The Father, in a perfect act of self-expression, in a perfect act of knowing, generates his son. The Son, the Word, is, then, the immanent expression of God's fullness, the reflection of the Father. Likewise, from all eternity, the Father and the Son bring forth the Holy Spirit in a perfect act of loving.

At the destined moment in human history, God's self-expression, the Word, immersed himself into man's world. God's inner self-expression now had also become God's outer self-expression. Consequently, the mystery of God becomes the mystery of Christ. In Christ, God tells us about himself, about his inner life, about his plan of creation and redemption. He tells us how Father, Son, and Holy Spirit desire to dwell within us in the most intimate fashion, how they wish to share with us their own life through grace. All this he has accomplished and does accomplish through Christ. St. Paul tells us: "I became a minister of this Church through the commission God gave me to preach among you his word in its fullness, that mystery hidden from ages and generations past but now revealed to his holy ones. God has willed to make known to them the glory beyond price which this mystery brings to the Gentiles—the mystery of Christ in you, your hope of glory. This is the Christ we proclaim while we admonish all men and teach them in the full measure of wisdom, hoping to make every man complete in Christ" (Col 1:25-28).

                R. Mystical Body of Christ
                    (1) Union with Christ
                    (2) Union with one another

We are brothers and sisters –

We need to treat each other like
                    brothers and sisters –

God calls us to be united to the
Mass – the sacrifice of Calvary
                    sacramentally made present –

                The Church is ONE, HOLY,
                    CATHOLIC and
                    APOSTOLIC –

John 17: 20-23

I pray not only for these
but also for those
who through their teaching
will come to believe in me.
May they all be one,
just as, Father, you are in me
   and I am in you,
so that they also may be in us,
so that the world may believe
it was you who sent me.
I have given them the glory
   you gave to me,
that they may be one as we are one.
With me in them and you in me,
may they be so perfected in unity
that the world will recognise
that it was you who sent me
and that you have loved them
as you have loved me.

                R. Unity in Christ the head!

                Visible unity in Catholic
                    Church – we believe the
                    same truths –

We have the same sacraments –
We have the same worship –

The Holy Father is the visible
                    center of this unity.

                We are united with others
                    in Christ –

Shepherds of Christ is to pray for the
renewal of the Church and the world –
                    UNITY

                We are to ask –

What does Christ want of us –

We are to follow Christ as
                        closely as we can –

                    Some people who call themselves
                        holy are poor examples of
                        this – they hurt many
                        by being negative witnesses,
                        rebelling against Christ

                A person who loves God – doesn't
ask – "how little can I give"
                    We ask what does Jesus
want of me – how best
                    can I serve Jesus –
how can I be faithful to Jesus –

Matthew 16:15-19

'But you,' he said, 'who do you say I am?' Then Simon Peter spoke up and said, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.' Jesus replied, 'Simon son of Jonah, you are a blessed man! Because it was no human agency that revealed this to you but my Father in heaven. So I now say to you: You are Peter and on this rock I will build my community. And the gates of the underworld can never overpower it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of Heaven: whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven; whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.'

Jesus: The Shepherds of Christ was given
by My Father to bring unity and
love and help renew My Church.

                R. Do you have hope?

To see the beauty God created –
To see through the eyes of God.

                    Beauty in nature
                    Beauty in a baby's eyes
Beauty in a baby's little hand
Beauty just watching a baby walk!

A woman/man would not move and so
she/he just got more and more
                    angry and nobody could
stop her/his pain and revenge and
                    hatred, but herself/himself –
he lived a lie – make his darkness –
                    bring others down!

Did you ever see the sunshine
                    bridge?

                Did you ever see the
                    sunlit sky of a
                    child's picture –

                Reality is seeing beautiful
                    waters and land and
                    a bridge bringing the
                    lands together.

                R. Love builds a bridge

                Love sees beauty –

                Evil is from inside the
                    heart

Folly tears it down with its
                    evil heart!

                CONFLICT

                PASSIVE - AGGRESSIVE

                R. ῀ Beauty and love ῀

                Open my heart

                    Lord

                Let me see

                    your face

                Seek ye first the

                    Kingdom of God

Two men looked out prison bars
one saw mud, the other stars –

                How does one seeing through
                    God's eyes see

Gospel of Sunday - read 3 times

Mark 7: 1-8, 14-15, 21-23

                R. The Gospel is the Good News –
The Gospel is the living Word of God
The Gospel shows us a picture of Jesus.

Seeing men in the image and likeness of God.

A person has an image of life in
                    their mind and heart –
A man with love in his heart
                        is more likened to Jesus
                        he sees unity
                        he sees people working,
                        praying together, he
                        sees family –
he sees babies as sacred gifts from God –

                DISTORTED VISION

How does a depressed man see

                R. Seeing in darkness – distortedly

A person that has given into sin –
                    sees darkness
                    sees disorder
carries a weight on their back –
wants people out of their space –
doesn't have love in their hearts
                        for their brothers
doesn't see family – sees isolation
                        sees control
trying to make, force men in his
                        image and likeness

Genesis 1: 26-27

God said, ‘Let us make man in our own image, in the likeness of ourselves, and let them be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven, the cattle, all the wild animals and all the creatures that creep along the ground.’

God created man in the image of himself,
in the image of God he created him,
male and female he created them.

                R. God is

                    Absolute Truth
                    Divine Wisdom
                    Reality Veiled

                Seeing Divine Glory

                Seeing the Light of our
                    own graced soul –

                Seeing through the eyes
                    of God

                Beauty of a  child –

                    Splendor of God

                    Reality –

                R. Humility – like the heart of Mary

                    Mary had no malice –

Her actions were centered on God –

                    She was under God –

                    She was sinless –

January 5, 1997
"BABY, BARE BABY, LAID BARE"

R. On January 5, 1997, I was wakened by Our Lord and He was mumbling as He was around my bed as He did on October 8, 1997, when He delivered the "Seedless, Barren, No Fruit on the Vine" message.

I heard Him and He repeated the words over and over again. I had a copy of the all-night message on the floor, I jumped from the bed and began to write around the message, for it was the only paper available and He was speaking very plainly and direct. I wrote this message in the margins of the paper. He kept repeating "BABY, BARE BABY, LAID BARE".

Jesus:  Open yourself, Oh Jerusalem, your time is come you will be a light to the people in darkness, many will walk whence you come and the earth will be shakened and the light will come across a dark sky and enlighten their minds.

Oh stiff-necked people, you are so stiff in your ways, let the spirit envelope you and lead you on your way.

A country of stiffs, a people of planning and prodding, of deliberating and wonderingyou lack faith, Jerusalem, you lack faith in God.

Oh walk naked into the cold night, you are cold in your hearts and naked in your clothingI cloth you with glory, I light your face with light, but you turn your cheeks to the darkness and stay stiff-necked in your hearts. Oh cold and dark hearts, reach for the light that you may know the glory that awaits the sinners and enlightens their minds.

                R. God shows us His wonder in
                    this world –
                    in children
                    in the skies
                    in the light of day

God shows us His creation from nothing –

                We are in awe

                God is Infinite Perfection –

                    Absolute Truth –

We can go to heaven and see God –
                    face to face –
                    know –

Our heart seeks fullness of life
                    in heaven –

The depths of God not seen
                    on earth – that was
                    veiled!

We can know God, as He is
                    in heaven –

                Creatures have defects here
                    on earth – we seek
                    a pure heart –

                God is all just –

                God is all good

                How did we live?

Prayer for Union with Jesus

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.F

I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994

A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul

Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.

                Jesus told me
                we were attracted to Him
like steel to a magnet –

But we have a free will

                We can turn our back
                    to God –

                Independence –

                Trying to be in control
                    over God

Revelation 21: 1-8

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; the first heaven and the first earth had disappeared now, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride dressed for her husband. Then I heard a loud voice call from the throne, ‘Look, here God lives among human beings. He will make his home among them; they will be his people, and he will be their God, God–with–them. He will wipe away all tears from their eyes; there will be no more death, and no more mourning or sadness or pain. The world of the past has gone.’

Then the One sitting on the throne spoke. ‘Look, I am making the whole of creation new. Write this, "What I am saying is trustworthy and will come true."
Then he said to me, ‘It has already happened. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give water from the well of life free to anybody who is thirsty; anyone who proves victorious will inherit these things; and I will be his God and he will be my son.  But the legacy for cowards, for those who break their word, or worship obscenities, for murderers and the sexually immoral, and for sorcerers, worshippers of false gods or any other sort of liars, is the second death in the burning lake of sulphur.’

of the Church and the world

July 31, 1994

Words of Jesus to Members of
Shepherds of Christ Associates:

"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.

"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.

"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."

- Message from Jesus to Father Edward J. Carter, S.J., Founder, as given on July 31, 1994,
feast of Saint Ignatius Loyola, Founder of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits)

Act of consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

"Lord Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the flock, I consecrate myself to Your most Sacred Heart. From Your pierced Heart the Church was born, the Church You have called me, as a member of Shepherds of Christ Associates, to serve in a most special way. You reveal Your Heart as a symbol of Your love in all its aspects, including Your most special love for me, whom You have chosen as Your companion in this most important work. Help me to always love You in return. Help me to give myself entirely to You. Help me always to pour out my life in love of God and neighbor! Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in You!

"Dear Blessed Virgin Mary, I consecrate myself to your maternal and Immaculate Heart, this Heart which is symbol of your life of love. You are the Mother of my Savior. You are also my Mother. You love me with a most special love as a member of Shepherds of Christ Associates, a movement created by your Son as a powerful instrument for the renewal of the Church and the world. In a return of love, I give myself entirely to your motherly love and protection. You followed Jesus perfectly. You are His first and perfect disciple. Teach me to imitate you in the putting on of Christ. Be my motherly intercessor so that, through your Immaculate Heart, I may be guided to an ever closer union with the pierced Heart of Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the flock."

Prayer for Priests

"Lord Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the Flock, we pray that in the great love and mercy of Your Sacred Heart You attend to all the needs of Your priest-shepherds throughout the world. We ask that You draw back to Your Heart all those priests who have seriously strayed from Your path, that You rekindle the desire for holiness in the hearts of those priests who have become lukewarm, and that You continue to give Your fervent priests the desire for the highest holiness. United with Your Heart and Mary's Heart, we ask that You take this petition to Your heavenly Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit. Amen"

September 1, 2015 - Fr. Joe Homily for a Funeral

1 Corinthians 13: 1-13

Though I command languages both human and angelic, if I speak without love, I am no more than a gong booming or a cymbal clashing. And though I have the power of prophecy, to penetrate all mysteries and knowledge, and though I have all the faith necessary to move mountains, if I am without love, I am nothing. Though I should give away to the poor all that I possess, and even give up my body to be burned, if I am without love, it will do me no good whatever.

Love is always patient and kind; love is never jealous; love is not boastful or conceited, it is never rude and never seeks its own advantage, it does not take offence or store up grievances. Love does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but finds its joy in the truth. It is always ready to make allowances, to trust, to hope and to endure whatever comes.

Love never comes to an end. But if there are prophecies, they will be done away with; if tongues, they will fall silent; and if knowledge, it will be done away with. For we know only imperfectly, and we prophesy imperfectly; but once perfection comes, all imperfect things will be done away with. When I was a child, I used to talk like a child, and see things as a child does, and think like a child; but now that I have become an adult, I have finished with all childish ways. Now we see only reflections in a mirror, mere riddles, but then we shall be seeing face to face. Now I can know only imperfectly; but then I shall know just as fully as I am myself known.

As it is, these remain: faith, hope and love, the three of them; and the greatest of them is love.

                R. Fr. Joe said to be a pastor
you know and love people and

John 14: 1-7

Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You trust in God, trust also in me.
    In my Father's house
        there are many places to live in;
otherwise I would have told you.
I am going now to prepare a place for you,
    and after I have gone
        and prepared you a place,
I shall return to take you to myself,
so that you may be with me
    where I am.
    You know the way
to the place where I am going.

Thomas said, 'Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?' Jesus said:

I am the Way; I am Truth and Life.
No one can come to the Father
        except through me.
    If you know me,
you will know my Father too.
From this moment you know him
        and have seen him.

                R. Paul & Elaine were blessed
to spend 72 years married –
Fr. Joe said my mother died
when I was in high school –
and this is a special blessing
to have a mom and dad and
                children for all these years.

                    God has better plans for
us – God put us here to serve
Him, to love one another, to
be with Him for all eternity –

                    Elaine was a good wife,
a good mother – when she and
Paul went to bed they told
each other they loved each other
                as they held hands. In
                the other hand she held
                her rosary – that sums
                up her life –

                    Jesus said He came so
                we could have life –

                    We will all be where
                Elaine is, some day
and she will have the fullness
                of life –

                    Let's pray for each other
for when we go to our
                last day.

                    We may be sad, but
                we don't have to be
                sad for Elaine because
                we should be happy for
                her. We just won't have
her for a little while –

                    We thank God for all
                our blessings – Elaine was
                so missed, her grandchildren
                one after another got
up and cried for grandma -
they couldn't even talk to say one petition–
                All of them cried –
Elaine always had her rosary –
The boys got up and cried –
                for grandma a man said
as he prayed the intentions –

                    Elaine loved so much and
                Elaine was loved by children,
                grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

                    Men who were balding were
praying for grandma in these intentions.

                God is our strength –

                God is our focus –

                God is our Creator –

                We are His creatures –

                Sing: On This Day –

                The Church was full for
                    grandma, mom and
                    spouse –

Calling to Mary – Our Mother –
                    Mother of her children
she calls out to pray for –
                    for her children which is
why she appeared in Clearwater –
                    to tell the world –

She is the Mother of Peace –
                Mary, our Mother, conceived
                    without sin –

                Mary is our Mother –
                Mary conceived without sin –
                Mary Mother of Jesus –

                The Church was full –

We are called to be witnesses
                    of Jesus' love –

                This earthly dwelling will turn
                    to dust –
