also saw the globe of light bearing the Lady come to rest atop the tree,
and the branches bend as though someone were standing on them. Later, they

137. FIRST PRELUDE. This is the
history. Here it will be that Christ calls and wants all beneath His standard,
and Lucifer, on the other hand, wants all under his.
138. SECOND PRELUDE. This is a
mental representation of the place. It will be here to see a great plain,
comprising the whole region about Jerusalem, where the sovereign
Commander-in-Chief of all the good is Christ our Lord; and another plain about
the region of Babylon, where the chief of the enemy is Lucifer.
139. THIRD PRELUDE. This is to
ask for what I desire. Here it will be to ask for a knowledge of the deceits
of the rebel chief and help to guard myself against them; and also to ask for
a knowledge of the true life exemplified in the sovereign and true Commander,
and the grace to imitate Him.
FIRST PART
THE STANDARD OF SATAN
140. FIRST POINT. Imagine you
see the chief of all the enemy in the vast plain about Babylon, seated on a
great throne of fire and smoke, his appearance inspiring horror and terror.
141. SECOND POINT. Consider how
he summons innumerable demons, and scatters them, some to one city and some to
another, throughout the whole world, so that no province, no place, no state
of life, no individual is overlooked.
142. THIRD POINT. Consider the
address he makes to them, how he goads them on to lay snares for men and bind
them with chains. First they are to tempt them to covet riches (as Satan
himself is accustomed to do in most cases) that they may the more easily
attain the empty honors of this world, and then come to overweening pride.
The first step, then, will be
riches, the second honor, the third pride. From these three steps the evil one
leads to all other vices.
SECOND PART
THE STANDARD OF CHRIST
143. In a similar way, we are to
picture to ourselves the sovereign and true Commander, Christ our Lord.
144. FIRST POINT. Consider
Christ our Lord, standing in a lowly place in a great plain about the region
of Jerusalem, His appearance beautiful and attractive.
145. SECOND POINT. Consider how
the Lord of all the world chooses so many persons, apostles, disciples, etc.,
and sends them throughout the whole world to spread His sacred doctrine among
all men, no matter what their state or condition.

Today it is so foolish for
many children do not
respect their father.
God the Father speaks:
I am your Father —

through the trees —
Pray for vision
On a night-steamer the darkness
closed in and the boat came to shallow
waters —
Oh how shallow are your hearts —
How limited your vision?
You see as in a fog and the

like the cataract removed

A fog can cover your earth and little attention
is given to God —

When she awoke one morning she saw sunlight
streaming in her usually darkened window
she went gaily to the window and the sun was
so bright her eyes hurt from its brilliance —
a day she felt was promised to her —
she saw the grass green as never before —
she could even smell better, she thought,
she was aware of every little thing
through the deep gifts coming in
her senses —
Why today she wondered could she see

now were greater than any of her

Mary speaks: I stood beneath
the cross of my Son, and my Heart was in such pain for I saw Him before my
eyes. I saw Him covered with blood. I saw Him die. My Heart, my children, my
Heart to watch my Son, but my Heart, my Heart, how I suffered for my little
children of the world that give in to this world and give up the love of my
Son. O my little children of light, I give you this message. Carry this
light into the darkness for your Mother Mary, for I stood beneath the cross
and I cried. I cried for the little ones. I cried for the young ones, the
ones that do not care and will lose their souls. How do I make you see for
you will not listen to me? What can I do? I come. I appear. I beg. I plead.
I give you these gifts from my Son, and you reject me. I do not deliver
messages very often anymore for I have been ignored. The message is the
same. You do not read the messages I have given to you. Please help me. Help
the little children. I appear. I appear. I appear, and I am ignored. I stood

Messenger: The sun shown brightly at
Fatima October 13, 1917 —
Excerpt from the Spirituality of Fatima

October 13, 1917
On October 13, 1917, there were more than 70,000
people gathered in the Cova da Iria in Fatima, Portugal. They had come to
observe a miracle which had been foretold by the Blessed Virgin to three
young visionaries: Lucia dos Santos, and her two cousins, Jacinta and
Francisco Marto. (1) Shortly after noon, Our Lady appeared to the three
visionaries:
As the Lady was about to leave, she pointed to the
sun. Lucy excitedly repeated the gesture, and the people looked into the
sky. The rain had ceased, the clouds parted, and the sun shone forth, but
not in its usual brilliance. Instead, it appeared like a silver disc, pale
as the moon, at which all could gaze without straining their eyes.
Suddenly, impelled by some mysterious force, the disc began to whirl in
the sky, casting off great shafts of multicolored light. Red, green, blue,
yellow, violet—the enormous rays shot across the sky at all angles,
lighting up the entire countryside for many miles around, but particularly
the upturned faces of those 70,000 spellbound people.
After a few moments the wonder stopped, but resumed
again a second and a third time—three times in all—within about 12
minutes. It seemed that the whole world was on fire, with the sun spinning
at a greater speed each time.
Then a gasp of terror rose from the crowd, for the
sun seemed to tear itself from the heavens and come crashing down upon the
horrified multitude.... Just when it seemed that the ball of fire would
fall upon and destroy them, the miracle ceased, and the sun resumed its
normal place in the sky, shining forth as peacefully as ever.
When the people arose from the ground, cries of
astonishment were heard on all sides. Their clothes, which had been
soaking wet and muddy, now were clean and dry. Many of the sick and
crippled had been cured of their afflictions. (2)

Messenger: God tells us things in His creation —
Mary speaks:
Many are lost in their own little
world.
A road was covered with fog and the
water from the lake to the side
looked as if it would soon
wipe the road away for it
had risen high
—
Above it all a pale silver disc
of penetrating light shown through
the thick fog — lighting a
path of light — it almost
looked paradoxical that such
a disc with its blinding light
could be seen in the heavy
fog — but it was there all bright.
Soon the disc became dimmer and
dimmer looking like a pale
circle and then the gray thick
fog covered the once brilliant
place of sunlit beams and
illuminating circular splendor,
Carol Ann drove the very eerie road
with her two small children
along the river to their country
school.
She feared for the cars coming at her in
the opposite lane almost appeared
they were aiming at her and she
just could not see her way to the
school.
The path was solid fog now and the
children began to fight, Carol Ann
knew she could not go back now
for she was more than 1/2 way there.
When we wake up some days do we
ever think can I turn around
because the road looks so
foggy and if we did turn around
were we more than 1/2 way there and
it might be more treacherous.
Jesus speaks:
A county jail had prisoners, they
were locked behind bars —
Many of you are prisoners of your
own jail — locked behind
bars of your own making —
Oh that you saw always My sun
shining beneath the fog and realized
prison bars are dissolved for those
doing God's will.
So if I talk in allegory will
you judge the writing in plain
script.
A bird usually does not fly up-side
down, nor do they sit very frequently
in the road of on-coming traffic.
A woman drove a truck for a
big company and on one of her business
trips she drove the truck into a
covered bridge.
John 9: 1-41
As he went along, he saw a man who had been blind
from birth. His disciples asked him, ‘Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his
parents, that he should have been born blind?’ ‘Neither he nor his
parents sinned,’ Jesus answered, ‘he was born blind so that the works
of God might be revealed in him.
'As long as day lasts
we must carry out the work of the one
who sent me;
the night will soon be here
when no one can work.
As long as I am in the world
I am the light of the world.’
Having said this, he spat on the
ground, made a paste with the spittle, put this over the eyes of the blind
man, and said to him, ‘Go and wash in the Pool of Siloam’ (the name
means ‘one who has been sent’). So he went off and washed and came back
able to see.
His neighbours and the people who used
to see him before (for he was a beggar) said, ‘Isn’t this the man who
used to sit and beg?’ Some said, ‘Yes, it is the same one.' Others said,
'No, but he looks just like him.’ The man himself said, ‘Yes, I am the
one.’ So they said to him, ‘Then how is it that your eyes were opened?'
He answered, ‘The man called Jesus made a paste, daubed my eyes with it
and said to me, "Go off and wash at Siloam"; so I went, and when I
washed I gained my sight.’ They asked, ‘Where is he?’ He answered,
‘I don’t know.’
They brought to the Pharisees the man
who had been blind. It had been a Sabbath day when Jesus made the paste and
opened the man’s eyes, so when the Pharisees asked him how he had gained
his sight, he said, ‘He put a paste on my eyes, and I washed, and I can
see.' Then some of the Pharisees said, ‘That man cannot be from God: he
does not keep the Sabbath.’ Others said, ‘How can a sinner produce signs
like this?' And there was division among them. So they spoke to the blind
man again, 'What have you to say about him yourself, now that he has opened
your eyes?’ The man answered, ‘He is a prophet.’
However, the Jews would not believe
that the man had been blind without first sending for the parents of the man
who had gained his sight and asking them, ‘Is this man really the son of
yours who you say was born blind? If so, how is it that he is now able to
see?’ His parents answered, ‘We know he is our son and we know he was
born blind, but how he can see, we don’t know, nor who opened his eyes.
Ask him. He is old enough: let him speak for himself.’ His parents spoke
like this out of fear of the Jews, who had already agreed to ban from the
synagogue anyone who should acknowledge Jesus as the Christ. This was why
his parents said, ‘He is old enough; ask him.'
So the Jews sent for the man again and
said to him, ‘Give glory to God! We are satisfied that this man is a
sinner.’ The man answered, ‘Whether he is a sinner I don’t know; all I
know is that I was blind and now I can see.’ They said to him, ‘What did
he do to you? How did he open your eyes?’ He replied, ‘I have told you
once and you wouldn’t listen. Why do you want to hear it all again? Do you
want to become his disciples yourselves?’ At this they hurled abuse at
him, ‘It is you who are his disciple, we are disciples of Moses; we know
that God spoke to Moses, but as for this man, we don’t know where he comes
from.’ The man replied, ‘That is just what is so amazing! You don’t
know where he comes from and he has opened my eyes! We know that God
doesn’t listen to sinners, but God does listen to people who are devout
and do his will. Ever since the world began it is unheard of for anyone to
open the eyes of someone born blind; if this man were not from God, he
wouldn’t have been able to do anything.’ They retorted, ‘Are you
trying to teach us, and you a sinner through and through ever since you were
born!' And they ejected him.
Jesus heard they had ejected him, and
when he found him he said to him, ‘Do you believe in the Son of man?’
‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘tell me who he is so that I may believe in
him.’ Jesus said, ‘You have seen him; he is speaking to you.’ The man
said, ‘Lord, I believe,’ and worshipped him.
Jesus said:
It is for judgement
that I have come into this world,
so that those without sight may see
and those with sight may become blind.
Hearing this, some Pharisees who were
present said to him, ‘So we are blind, are we?’ Jesus replied:
If you were blind,
you would not be guilty,
but since you say, ‘We can see,’
your guilt remains.
