New Cycle B - Guiding Light Homily Book

Well thank God we are finally able to resume the Priestly Mailing of Fr. Joe's last homily book.

This was delayed for almost 2 months and
God really wants this to reach our beloved priests.

That means we send out at least 35,000 of Fr. Joe's Homily books yearly to priests and hierarchy. 
This is a weekly Newsletter, Jesus says.
If a priest preaches to  parishioners every weekend
they could reach so many people with the focus on the Word of Fr Joe's insights and knowledge he offers-the history of the scriptures and the Eucharist. 

There are so many priests in New York this is the next mailing.
We will need $2,000 for the postage if we can mail it by next Monday.

                R. Ash Wednesday –

                    Two important people died in the Movement,
                one on the 5th, one on the 13th. We prayed
                as usual for the days of February 2nd through
                February 13th and February 14th was Valentine's
                Day and Sophie's funeral on Valentine's
                Day.

                    Both of these precious souls were
                devoted to the Heart of Jesus.

                    On the way back from Sophie's
                funeral far away north, I had
                white-outs in the car.

                    The snow blew and went
                across the road making it impossible
                to see. I have never experienced this.
                The road and field were as one and it
                made it hard to even see the road.
                It was white and so bright I couldn't
                see and the road was completely
                covered so I couldn't even see
                how it went.

                    When we think of white like
                this we think of light, but it
                reminded me of the angel of
                darkness – that starts out as
                an angel of light and we
                follow – then the vision gets distorted
                and we lose our way.

                    The weather is unpredictable and
                we can suffer because of it –

                    Only love of God and love of
                fellow men will bring peace.
                Jesus has given us the messages of
                Fatima – the message - that there
                will be an era of peace –

                    that we will see in this
                Era of peace the Sacred Heart of Jesus will
                Reign in men's hearts and the
                Immaculate Heart will triumph.

                    Fr. Carter said that Mary said
                when a sufficient amount of hearts
                are consecrated to the Hearts of
                Jesus and Mary we will have peace
                in the world.

                    What does this mean – Fr. Carter said

Fr. Carter had a dream.

                R. it meant at least 50%.

                    Sunday I saw on a news show
                where about 37% of men, it
                said, were oppressed or not free –

                    I don't know if that's tree –

                But God gives us a free will –
                    so we can choose to love.

                February is the Day of the Heart –
                    Valentine's Day –

                    Saint Claude de la Columbiere has
                his feast on February 15th. That is
                Jerry's birthday. Jerry is
                dedicated to the Heart of Jesus.

                R. Only hearts loving God - with all
                    their hearts and loving
                    men will bring peace.

                Love builds –

                Hate destroys –

                Hatred puts men in division with God and
                    with men.

There was a message I got December 6, 1996, Blue Book 13 11 days before Mary appeared in Clearwater.

                R. This message is at the end of
                the daily writing today with
                the message of June 26, 1995
                (20 years ago) when I first was
                sent to Florida.

                    We must see in God, judge
                in God –

                    When men are operating in
                hatred they can't see things
                clearly –

                    True judgment is found in God.
                Find the tranquility of order – brings
                peace –

                God is the Creator –

                We are the creatures –

                We are dependent on God –

                We are under God –

                Reality is in God –

                Human actions must be
                    actions that are seen
                    in God to have peace
                    in heart –

                We seek greater faith in God.

                We seek the Wisdom of the Holy Spirit –

                In baptism we share Divine life –
                    We have the infused
                    virtues of faith, hope and love –

                We can with faith and wisdom see
                    things as they really are
                    through God's eyes –

                Two men can see in unity, in
                    love – how it really is
                    through God's eyes –

                In the Holy Spirit Novena – God gave me –
                    we pray for faith, hope and love and
                    wisdom.

                R. In the Shepherds of Christ Prayers – Jesus gave
                    to Fr. Carter – we pray for the
                    priests, the Church and the world –
                    with devotion to the Two Hearts
                    of love –
                    the Hearts of Jesus and Mary –

                R. We must pray for the increase
                    of faith, hope and love –

                We know how God loves us –
 

John 10: 11-15

I am the good shepherd:
the good shepherd lays down his life
   for his sheep.
The hired man,
   since he is not the shepherd
and the sheep do not belong to him,
abandons the sheep
as soon as he sees a wolf coming,
   and runs away,
and then the wolf attacks
   and scatters the sheep;
he runs away
   because he is only a hired man
and has no concern for the sheep.
I am the good shepherd;
I know my own
and my own know me,
just as the Father knows me
and I know the Father;
and I lay down my life for my sheep.

                R. We hear the voice of the Good Shepherd
                    and we follow Him –

                R. We must direct our actions to know
                and love and serve God. We are soldiers
                in His army – Soldiers for Christ –

                    We must direct all of our
                actions toward God –

                    This leads to happiness –

                    This leads to peace and order when
                we see God as the Creator and
                live as creatures dependent on
                Him –

                    We must seek good in our
                actions. This is prudence that
                helps direct man's actions to
                perform acts as God desires
                for good –

                    Man is willing to do good acts
                that are as God wills him
                to do – Man wants only God's
                will and he wants to serve
                God with doing good in his
                actions. His actions are
                governed by God –

                    Man has right reason, from
                God, to perform good acts as
                God wants him to do - serving,
                and loving God –

                    Man's actions are actions to bring
                good as God wants him to do –

                    Doing God's will –
                        in love –

                Justice is a virtue that helps us
                    to give to others what is
                    their due, under God, in
                    the eyes of God –

                What is God's will for us in
                    loving God and others –

                Not selfishness –

                We are called to love and interact
                    with others –

                    We need God working in
                all our decisions in love
                of God and love of other men.
                We must go to God and pray
                God will help us to act in
                Him - with supernatural
                wisdom –

                    We need God to shower
                His wisdom on us. We pray
                this Novena to the Holy Spirit –

                We pray to act for the good –
                    God wants in man's actions –
                    We work in union with
                    God and others –
                    Not for our selfish goal to
                    promote ourselves –

                We pray for this supernatural
                    assistance to use right
                    reasoning to further the
                    plan of God –

                Love builds

                Love is from God

                Hate destroys

                Hate tears down

                Hate is from the evil one –
                    wanting evil to happen –

                A man who operates imprudently
                    does not use his right reason –
                    he does not listen to counsel –
                    he does not use his memory
                    of past events that hurt himself and
                    others and offended God by his
                    evil actions –

                The imprudent man does not use
                    right reason –
                    he does not want to remember the
                    evil he did or the consequences
                    of such evil on others, himself
                    and how he offended God –

                The imprudent man rushes
                    into actions – he doesn't
                    use his reasoning to
                    weigh his actions – he
                    doesn't work with foresight and
                    caution –
                    he can act out of anger instead
                        of love –

                Acting out of anger toward another
                    means the devil is trying
                    to get the person to
                    destroy, tear down,
                    tear apart –

                And the person can have habits
                    or vices where they have
                    trained themselves – NOT to
                    work for the good actions –
                    the building-up actions –
                    the good out - come –

                But as St. Ignatius says –
                    they act in desolation –
                    they act in anger –
                    they act - and their action
                        is not to bring down
                        good, but to produce
                        evil –

                The goal is not a good goal of
                    serving God and bringing
                    good, but of serving
                    satan and bring evil –

                A person can provoke and manipulate
                    to try to force evil on others –
                    they can operate in secret
                    so they can take the other
                    by surprise and see
                    what power they can have
                    over others for their own
                    thirst for power –

                In Sunday's Gospel we see how
                    the devil tried to tempt Jesus
                 

Mark 1: 12-15

Testing in the desert

And at once the Spirit drove him into the desert and he remained there for forty days, and was put to the test by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels looked after him.

 

II: THE GALILEAN MINISTRY

Jesus begins to proclaim the message

After John had been arrested, Jesus went into Galilee. There he proclaimed the gospel from God saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is close at hand. Repent, and believe the gospel.’

                R. We see in the first reading –
                    the Covenant that God
                    was establishing with Noah

                We see in the Psalm 25: 2

                R. How we tell God we trust Him –

                To have relationships - there
                    must be trust –

                We know a person is predictable
                    and true to his word –

                The man who is imprudent
                    without looking at his past
                    experiences or ability to reason,
                    is inconsistent, lacks
                    foresight and is negligent
                    in performing the actions
                    that God wants the man
                    to do –

                Then the imprudent man can be
                    so prideful – he refuses
                    counsel and tries to ignore the
                    damage he continues to do
                    with evil actions and trying
                    to force others to allow
                    them to continue by
                    manipulating events in evil,
                    in secret, provoking and
                    hating in his heart become
                    a vice or habit which
                    serves satan and not God –
                    It is evil for why he acts –
                    not to bring good to himself,
                    others and God.

                R. The man who is prudent is humble –
                    remembering his sins and
                    asking for forgiveness from God.
                    Sin separates man from God.

Psalm 25: 8-10

1 Peter 3: 18-22

The resurrection and the descent into hell

Christ himself died once and for all for sins, the upright for the sake of the guilty, to lead us to God. In the body he was put to death, in the spirit he was raised to life, and, in the spirit, he went to preach to the spirits in prison. They refused to believe long ago, while God patiently waited to receive them, in Noah’s time when the ark was being built. In it only a few, that is eight souls, were saved through water. It is the baptism corresponding to this water which saves you now—not the washing off of physical dirt but the pledge of a good conscience given to God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has entered heaven and is at God’s right hand, with angels, ruling forces and powers subject to him.

                R. In Cycle A – the Gospel is this
   

                R. We see the devil wanted Jesus to
                    get down and worship him –
                    The devil tried to get a wager
                    going with Jesus to persuade
                    Him to get away with
                    his thirsting for power
                    and control
   

                R. We see the same situation going
                    on Cycle C, First Sunday
                    of Lent.

                Luke 4: 1-13 –
                    satan is trying to get
                    Jesus to worship him.

                The idea in the Sundays of Lent
                    Cycle B have to do with
                    covenant –

                We see the first reading is talking
                    about covenant with Noah –

                The readings in Cycle B are
                    concerned with covenant
                    in the Sundays of
                    Lent.
   

                R. Fr. Joe talks about this powerfully
                    in his latest homily book

                Be sure to read the homilies in
                    Lent in this book.
 

                We can see imprudence is
                    where a person in craftiness
                    can try to force evil actions
                    into a dysfunctional system
                    so satan can manipulate
                    matter as they give into actions
                    that satan tempts the person
                    to do.

                A man who is prudent has as
                    their goal "eternal happiness."

                Their actions are done in love
                    of God and love of others
                    to produce good for the
                    building of God's Kingdom –

                A person who is crafty in evil is
                    using ways of evil to
                    reach a goal that is
                    evil – not for the good
                    God wants for the building
                    of God's Kingdom.

                Our true goal – always has
                    the focus ultimately on
                    eternal happiness –

                Our actions are always to be
                    directed to our own
                    eternal happiness in heaven.

                We cannot perform acts for
                    evil – this is sin –
                    this is not charity toward
                    God or others or ourselves –
                    for men to come.

                    We are not giving ourselves
                    for actions that produce
                    good for the building of the
                    Kingdom of God.
