                April 1, 2014

                R. God created us to be united, to follow His
will. Eve wanted to be independent of God.
It came from the temptation of satan. Adam and
Eve had all these gifts God gave them. God
is the Creator – He made from nothing –
God created the universe for His purpose.
Man is under God. God created for His glory.

Proverbs 16: 4

Yahweh made everything for its own purpose,
yes, even the wicked for the day of disaster.

                    R. God is infinite goodness –
                    God is infinite perfection –
                    God is infinite excellence –
                    God is all knowing –

We were created to know, love and serve God.

                God is love!

How offensive to God for the creature He
created to want to be independent of
Him, to do their own will opposed to
                    God's will.

This is how many in the world are today
seeking to be independent of God.

God in His goodness created us for His purpose.

God made us in His image and likeness –

Genesis 1: 26-27

God said, ‘Let us make man in our own image, in the likeness of ourselves, and let them be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven, the cattle, all the wild animals and all the creatures that creep along the ground.’

God created man in the image of himself,
in the image of God he created him,
male and female he created them.

                R. God gave us the land and sea, the animals,
                    the birds, the vegetation –
God in His goodness created us to
know, love and serve Him –
                    We are creatures
                    He is the Creator –

God wants us to be united in love –

                God is love –

Like brothers and sisters in God's family.

Matthew 12: 46-50

He was still speaking to the crowds when suddenly his mother and his brothers were standing outside and were anxious to have a word with him. But to the man who told him this Jesus replied, 'Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?' And stretching out his hand towards his disciples he said, 'Here are my mother and my brothers. Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.'

                R. We see the deterioration of unity by the way
man chooses to leave God out of his life and
seeks independence of the One Supreme God,
the creature seeks independence of God
                with his free will.

God gave to man the 10 Commandments
                through Moses –

                    All through salvation history men
have rebelled against a good and generous
God. Man can be influenced and tempted
by the devil, man seeking his will
opposed to God's will – man wanting his
way, he would lie to get his way –
We see Cain killed his brother Abel rather
than love him and work together
with him. And God warned Cain.

Genesis 4: 6-7

Yahweh asked Cain, ‘Why are you angry and downcast? If you are doing right, surely you ought to hold your head high! But if you are not doing right, Sin is crouching at the door hungry to get you. You can still master him.’

                R. God gives us talents to do His work –
He blesses us when we obey Him –

When we are asked by God to work together,
under a just authority - since He
is God – we are honoring Him by
doing it the best way we can –

Doing what we do for just authority in love
is being likened to Jesus who gave
His life doing the Father's will.

When we have a spirit of independence,
it grows and grows to bitterness
for having an authority telling us what
                    to do.
                    Like a  rebellious teenager we
                    show God how we disrespect
his plan and we don't want
                    to do the Father's will.

If God tells you to do something – like
children are to report to their parents,
or religious to their superiors, but
instead you decide to make the
                communication so confused that they
cannot even understand it, or show
it deceptively to make it unable for
them to know the truth – it is serving
                satan not God.

God wants loving service to work in
harmony and structure, but a rebellious
child, a rebellious person under authority
can try in deceiving ways to confuse
the truth, to show God they really did it
but with a bitter rebellious heart.

Where the most important thing to God is
love and doing God's will with a loving
                    truthful heart –
the person or child shows with every
action the bitter rebellion in their
heart to those over them and their
enslavement to do their own will.

Life is a journey where by we are living to
relate as creature to Creator. Learning
to love and serve God – the purpose
for which we were created, to know
                    God and His ways.

                God looks at the heart.

1 Samuel 15: 22-23

To which, Samuel said:

Is Yahweh pleased by burnt offerings
        and sacrifices
or by obedience to Yahweh’s voice?
Truly, obedience is better than sacrifice,
submissiveness than the fat of rams.
Rebellion is a sin of sorcery,
    presumption a crime of idolatry!

                R. The people worshipped a molten calf in
                    the desert.

The people rebelled against God and
Moses when Moses went up the
mountain to talk to God and
                    receive the 10 Commandments.

Satan tempts man to raise up and do
his own will – and man can live
with this prideful heart – seeking
                    dominance for dominance sake –
becoming more and more the slave
of satan – rather than doing
                    simple things in obedience to
those over us with just authority
and like Mary - showing God –
she loved the will of God –
she loved God and wanted to please Him –

Sinful man seeks his will and wants to show
God he can be independent of Him.
He becomes more and more enslaved to molding
things to the way he wants so he doesn't
have to change and his vision becomes
more and more his vision and not the
clarity of seeing through the Father's
eyes, living and loving just authority because
that is what God wants to see,
                    docile men, creatures, living under
God – living in structure – obeying
                    those He put over them.

The 4th Commandment is about obedience!

The devil tempts men to be independent of
God. The devil uses their weaknesses
                    jealousy, pride, envy, lust –
where they see themselves as not the
beautiful person God created, but see
                    themselves deficiently so they see
others as a threat to their looking good.

It's all distorted vision. God blesses
us with people He puts here for us to love
and work with to build Hs Kingdom and a
person not seeing themselves so loved by
God, is tempted by satan to see his
brother as an enemy to looking good –
So they can make a war against their brother
with a bitter, envious heart and try
to block their brother trying to live and
                love and do God's will.

We see the story of Joseph and his
brothers – they hated Joseph because
he was chosen and they wanted to kill him.

                Cain killed Abel.

We see the pride of Eve wanting to be equal to God.
We see the faithfulness of Abraham and
how the reading was in Lent –

Genesis 12: 1-4

Yahweh said to Abram, ‘Leave your country, your kindred and your father’s house for a country which I shall show you; and I shall make you a great nation, I shall bless you and make your name famous; you are to be a blessing!

I shall bless those who bless you,
and shall curse those who curse you,
   and all clans on earth
   will bless themselves by you.’

So Abram went as Yahweh told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy–five years old when he left Haran.

                R. We see satan works in tempting men and
they keep growing in vices, that are
bad habits because of these deadly
                    sins –

Instead of living in Jesus more and more
like the vine and the branches,
                    they give into satan, serving
him through pride and anger and
jealousy with a bitter heart of anger
toward their brother, God wants them
                    to work with.

                Here is the greatest commandment.

Matthew 22: 36-40

'Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?' Jesus said to him, 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole Law, and the Prophets too.'

                R. How do we see ourselves? When God looks
into our heart; if we are hating our
brothers, do we see we missed what
God commands us to do in life.
Why do we see our brothers serving
God as a threat to us, because we
need to know how much God loves
us and come from an eye
                    adjustment inside – not seeing
                    ourselves through the dark
eyes of satan, who wants us
to see ourselves deficient and others
as a threat to us looking okay –

One's whole life can be blind, justifying
why they look good and others look bad
                    around them –

God created us to love one another and
with all our talents work in love
                    to do His will.

He wants us to go to heaven. We are
here to grow in holiness to get
                    there.

                Satan keeps working on people
so they get greater and greater
distorted vision as they sin –
they become more and more blind and
                    don't even see their blindness.

Read last Sunday's Gospel about the blind man.

                R. Vision of the world –
                How is your vision –

We are to grow in the virtues of faith, hope and love.

Not give into temptations of satan
to take us into deeper and deeper
                    dark hearts –

Jesus is the Light of the World –

                Our strength comes from within.

                Succession is very important we
                    see in the Old Testament.

One vision – the vision of God!

In religious orders - God gives a plan
to the Founders and those under
them are to follow the Plan
                    God gave –

The Church is under the Pope and it is
                    such a gift –

The Church is rooted in truth –
men may be servants who are
                        not where they should be
                        leading others astray –

The pope has infallibility in faith and
                    morals.

                The Church governs.

What can happen is, in any institution
                    when one is begun –
                    the people throw out the
                    founders and every one want
                    independence of authority and
                    independence with their brothers.

If this happens the weakness of independence
                    shows the marks of
                    no structure, utter pandemonium –
and no unity, it works two ways as
satan tempts men to be bitter
                    and prideful in their hearts.

                They challenge the authority because
they never learned to live under
just authority and fear it –
They can fight it to where they want
                    no obedience to anyone –

Then they see their brothers through jealous,
prideful, envious eyes – so they don't
want to love anyone or trust anyone.
What a prescription for failure and then
                satan moves in.

Hitler had an army – we had people
under obedience doing horrific things –
If the law promote killing of Jews
and babies in the womb – satan has
                it made.

                People making laws opposing the
                very commandment –
                Thou shalt not kill –

                Independence of God – running
                things for satan.

                    Mary warned at Fatima.

Excerpt from The Spirituality of Fatima

by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.

July 13, 1917

"During this same July apparition, Mary showed the three children a vision of Hell. She told them:

"You have seen Hell, where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish, in the world, devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If people do what I tell you, many souls will be saved and there will be peace.

"The war (World War I, then raging) is going to end. But if people do not stop offending God, another and worse one will begin in the reign of Pius XI. When you shall see a night illuminated by an unknown light [January 2, 1938], know that this is the great sign that God gives you that He is going to punish the world for its many crimes by means of war, hunger, and persecution of the Church and the Holy Father. (12)

"To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the Communion of Reparation on the five first Saturdays. If my requests are granted, Russia will be converted and there will be peace. If not, she will scatter her errors throughout the world, provoking wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, and various nations will be destroyed....

"But in the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph, the Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, Russia will be converted, and a certain period of peace will be granted to the world." (13)

                R. Here is a message I got on Sunday
                     after Mass about Independence.

                R. So how can such division and disharmony
in relationships work in today's world?

The very structure of such division
is opposed to unity, harmony, structure which is
                     God's will.

                God wants us to be
                     like brothers caring for
                     each other.

Satan has worked in the people to chose
their ways by whether or not
they remain independent of each other –
and this is how they make decisions –
                     to stay separated, disconnected,
                     disharmonious and in control –
                     not observing structure or
                     obeying authority and
                     trying to prove the wrong
                     they do as right  –
lying to do it if they have to.

                 INDEPENDENCE

                Everyone sees disunity – you
                    wear it like clothes.

Matthew 10: 29-31

Can you not buy two sparrows for a penny? And yet not one falls to the ground without your Father knowing. Why, every hair on your head has been counted. So there is no need to be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Matthew 6: 9-13

So you should pray like this:

    Our Father in heaven,
may your name be held holy,
    your kingdom come,
    your will be done,
    on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
    And forgive us our debts,
    as we have forgiven those
who are in debt to us.
And do not put us to the test,
but save us from the Evil One.

Matthew 6: 31-34

So do not worry; do not say, "What are we to eat? What are we to drink? What are we to wear?" It is the gentiles who set their hearts on all these things. Your heavenly Father knows you need them all. Set your hearts on his kingdom first, and on God’s saving justice, and all these other things will be given you as well. So do not worry about tomorrow: tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.’

Matthew 6: 28-30

And why worry about clothing? Think of the flowers growing in the fields; they never have to work or spin; yet I assure you that not even Solomon in all his royal robes was clothed like one of these. Now if that is how God clothes the wild flowers growing in the field which are there today and thrown into the furnace tomorrow, will he not much more look after you, you who have so little faith?

                R. God gave us a free will.

God wants us in heaven with Him forever –

Sin is putting ourselves above God –

Excerpt from Response in Christ by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.

SIX    The Christian and Sin

The most obvious personal relationship that is affected by sin is that between God and the sinner. In sinning a man fails, to a lesser or greater degree, to accept God's loving gift of Himself. He fails also to respond with his own gift of love. In serious sin man refuses intimate friendship with God. In venial sin he dulls the ardor of that friendship. Man, in so far as he sins, maintains that he does not want his life to be directed by the loving hand of his heavenly Father. He wants to be a law for himself; he wants to be the one who decides what is good for himself and what is not. Schoonenberg observes: "Especially in the prophets sin is an aversion from and an unfaithfulness to Yahweh himself; hence it is placed in the heart rather than in the wrong deed. We see that aversion, that rebelliousness, that lack of faith which precede the act of transgressing the Law already in the story of the sin in paradise, where it is presented as the wish of possessing autonomously the knowledge of good and evil, of being independently the Law unto oneself. . .”1       end of excerpt

                R. The devil works in relationship –

God commands us to live by His
rule and to love and worship
Him and to love others as ourselves.

When we don't love ourselves as
God sees us, we can listen to
                    satan's deceptive thinking
                    of how our brothers, God
put here with us, are enemies
                    to our being okay –

Satan is the father of lies –

                Mary is the perfect handmaid
                    of the Lord –

    Genesis 3: 15

    I shall put enmity
    between you and the woman,
    and between your offspring and hers;
    it will bruise your head
and you will strike its heel.'

               R. Jesus called handmaids and
                    servants of the Good Shepherd

How Shepherds of Christ Has Changed My Life

In midsummer of 1996, after receiving some material from a friend, I asked people to help form a Shepherds of Christ prayer chapter. I requested and obtained our Pastor's permission to expose the Blessed Sacrament nightly for our prayer gatherings. I also began making monthly pilgrimages to China, Indiana, for the special prayer service on the 13th of each month and a bit later, for the three-day retreats with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

The teachings, prayers, love letters, and way of life given to us by Jesus through His Shepherds of Christ Movement helped me realize that I held erroneous views about my faith and God's ways. I recognized too, that I had developed several unChrist-like habits. As ridiculous as it sounds now, the discovery that I could not make myself holy by hard work and perseverance, was quite an insight. But these disconcerting conclusions were accompanied by the refreshing realization that I was made to be totally dependent upon my Creator, Redeemer, Sanctifier, and Heavenly Mother for all things – including my sanctification. I came to understand that I needed an increased dependency:

On God the Father for His mercy, grace and the manifestation of His will for me,

On Jesus for His example, word, Sacrifice of the Mass, Sacraments, and Shepherds of Christ teachings,

On the Holy Spirit for His gifts and transforming action,

On Mary, my Mother for her protection, modeling and intercession.

The fact that all these gifts are free for my taking, will never cease to amaze me.

The pace with which self dies and gives way to Christ would be discouraging if it were not for the infinite, unconditional love and patience Jesus has for each soul, the explicit guidance He provides us on how to become more like Himself, and His generous promises. Jesus' love, expressed most vividly for me in His Incarnation, Passion, death, Eucharist, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation, provides the impetus I need to forever plead and beg for God's transforming action in me.

The stations and the rosary prayed as Jesus and Mary request, have made Their lives so real and made me increasingly aware that Their lives were always shaped by love for God the Father, for each Other, and for souls. I often now place myself at the scene of the mystery or station, and find myself asking questions, seeking counsel, expressing gratitude, or making a request or Act of Contrition. I have come to recognize that the slightest lack of love between my brother and myself is offensive to God and my Mother and that it distances me from Them. I have come to equate the lives of Jesus and Mary with a never-ending "fiat" – some prayed tearfully, some joyfully, but all said unconditionally. This unending and uninterrupted fiat has become a source of great inspiration. While I believe it is rarely if ever attained in this life, I know that Jesus has set this as a goal for the members of His Movement. Stations, rosary and the messages from Jesus and Mary have also convinced me that working as a co-redeemer with Jesus and Mary is not only an essential component of Christianity but a privilege that allows us to truly share Divinity.

One of my favorite lessons is the channeling of grace and mercy from the Father, and the reverse channeling of our prayers to Him. A second favorite is the instructions Jesus has given us for more effectively offering the Sacrifice of the Mass. These two lessons have substantially affected my prayer life. I still frequently find myself trying to devise my own strategies, my own goals, my own time table; but when I catch myself doing so, I at least now recognize the absurdity of such self-direction and the wisdom of using the fool-proof methods identified by Jesus and Mary in the Shepherds of Christ Movement.

So with the grace of God I intend to daily nestle in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary through frequent consecration, learn to listen with my heart to Their counsel, beg for Their help to discern the Father's will, and join Them in praying "fiat".

Oh Jesus and Mary, I'll need eternity to begin to thank You for the lessons You are teaching me and the call and mission You have given me as a member of Shepherds of Christ. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! I give to each of You, my body, my heart, mind and soul. I place my trust in You.

                R. Mary was conceived without sin –
                    She is our model –

                Mary appeared in Clearwater

                R. Satan tempts a person to commit
                    sin – satan works in
                    obsessions to some inordinate
                    attachment –
                    power, affections, wealth –
                    St. Ignatius says

4 days before His Death

                R. The devil can even possess a person.

Self-control is possible with God's grace.

A person must admit the truth about
their sins and bitter heart –
admit they need to be healed –
                    ask God for forgiveness –

Satan tempts a person to lie about
wrong they did and keep insisting
                    it is right –

so satan can keep them stuck in
their sin and stuck in the lies –

God planned us to be in harmony
with His plan and in harmony
                    with our brothers.

When a person looks at their
                    brother with anger and jealousy
                    and pride and anger they
                    are hurting their growth
                    in the spiritual life –

                Our light inside comes from
                    a loving generous heart
                    rooted in God –

When a person lives a life of
                    selfishness, anger, envy,
                    jealousy and pride, they
                    have dark inside and don't
                    feel good –

                Strength comes from being
                    rooted in God –
                    in our hearts –

We were created to be more and
                    more in the image and
                    likeness of God –

Satan is real and he works in
                    temptation to get men
                    to hate and isolate!

The rosary helps us to fight satan.

Holy Communion helps us to fight satan.

Matthew 1: 20-23

He had made up his mind to do this when suddenly the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, ‘Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because she has conceived what is in her by the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son and you must name him Jesus, because he is the one who is to save his people from their sins.’ Now all this took place to fulfil what the Lord had spoken through the prophet:

Look! the virgin is with child
and will give birth to a son
whom they will call Immanuel,

a name which means ‘God–is–with–us’.

James 5: 14-15

Any one of you who is ill should send for the elders of the church, and they must anoint the sick person with oil in the name of the Lord and pray over them. The prayer of faith will save the sick person and the Lord will raise him up again; and if he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.

Ephesians 3: 21

glory be to him from generation to generation in the Church and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen.

                R. We are here to seek God –

                Seeking God brings happiness –

God gives us baptism a sharing
                    in His life –

Our knowing and loving capacity is
                    elevated

                God gives us the Sacraments
                God gives us Confirmation!

A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul

Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.

Prayer for Union with Jesus

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.

I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994

A Prayer before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

Let me be a holy sacrifice and unite with God in the sacrament of His greatest love.

I want to be one in Him in this act of love, where He gives Himself to me and I give myself as a sacrifice to Him. Let me be a holy sacrifice as I become one with Him in this my act of greatest love to Him.

Let me unite with Him more, that I may more deeply love Him. May I help make reparation to His adorable Heart and the heart of His Mother, Mary. With greatest love, I offer myself to You and pray that You will accept my sacrifice of greatest love. I give myself to You and unite in Your gift of Yourself to me. Come and possess my soul.

Cleanse me, strengthen me, heal me. Dear Holy Spirit act in the heart of Mary to make me more and more like Jesus.

Father, I offer this my sacrifice, myself united to Jesus in the Holy Spirit to You. Help me to love God more deeply in this act of my greatest love.

Give me the grace to grow in my knowledge, love and service of You and for this to be my greatest participation in the Mass. Give me the greatest graces to love You so deeply in this Mass, You who are so worthy of my love.

-Mass Book, December 27, 1995

                Song: God's Love

                Song: A Song from Jesus

                Given March 31, 2014 - 4:40 p. m.

                Message from Jesus

                R. Read the Gospel from Sunday about the blind man.

                R. Satan can work in blinding a person through
a prejudice or an idea they give themselves or someone
else does and they can block God's will for themselves –
life long because of their "blind side".

What a shame to close down unity in some relationships
because some one is thwarted by a blind
                    side.

God intends people to relate in communities
and families, in the family of God, but
                    because of a person's thwarted vision –
not through the eyes of God – they
never even give it a chance blocking
                    an important relationship God intended.

If a person is not open to change they can
                    be like a duck in quick-sand – a person
standing in a stagnant bucket of water –

What do you tell yourself about relationships
that are closed by attitudes not according
                    to God's will.

I remember a lady on the radio saying she
never saw herself before people. Her
husband wanted to spend time with her
and signed her up for a community theater.
She didn't want to go, but went. Soon they began
talking with her husband before married couples
and they now have helped thousands of married
                    couples –

What is God's will for you? Have you blocked
it by what you tell yourself and treat
it like a rule when it blocks what
God wants you to do –

People can be narrow-minded, wanting to
arrive at a place and be done – when
this is the attitude about the spiritual
life, you are standing in a stagnant
bucket – Our whole life is to be
lived in growing in the image and likeness
of God. Fr. Carter didn't start the
Shepherds of Christ until he was 64.

                    R. Fr. Joe started putting out his books at 68
now we put out 7 books –

Pope John Paul II died at 84.

Where is God trying to lead you and
                    you are closed in because
                    you have a blind-side.

                Oh I am shy –

But God called you to this!

Oh I had this – so I can't do this,
                    who says it –
                    you or God.

                People give themselves excuses, diets,
                    why they can't do certain
things and it isn't God's will
                    at all –

Some should learn to obey the commandments
                    with such certitude –
who is your god, Jesus asks –
yourself in opposition to God's will.

                Whose rules are they –

                BLIND TO THE TRUTH –

                The merry-go-round called denial –

Grace from God to see through His eyes –
not live with distorted vision –

Blind people can do amazing things –

Some people are not blind and never see –

John 9: 39

                    Jesus said:

It is for judgement
that I have come into this world,
so that those without sight may see
and those with sight may become blind.

                R. Do we see others as God wants us to see
them – We may judge them on age –
status, weight, good looks, money, etc.

Guiding Light - Reflect on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light homily series - Reflect on the Word - Cycle B —  The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $15

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light homily series - Steadfast to the Son - Cycle A — The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul - Cycle C — In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word - Cycle B — At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15

Guiding Light - The Word Alive in Our Hearts

Priestly Newsletter - 2000 #1 - CD. - Christ is Our Strength - Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our-selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10

Priestly Newsletter - 2000 #2 - CD. - Suffering: A Source of Life - Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. Fr. Carter knew suffering that year. His voice is so powerful as he read each Newsletter from his heart and soul. "Every man has his own share in the redemption. Each one is also called to share in that suffering through which the redemption was accomplished. He is called to share in that suffering through which all human suffering has also been redeemed. In bringing about the redemption through suffering, Christ has also raised human suffering to the level of the redemption. Thus each man in his suffering can also become a sharer in the redemptive suffering of Christ–." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10
