R. Christ appeared
We will all have to let go of our
free will when God decides
to take us from this life.
We will have to let go –
Our life is a life of learning to
let go to His will –
We have a place inside – where we
can be ready to let go to God –
We want our interior life to
be pure, lighted, focused
on God's plan – we are
one with God and loving –
having faith in God – seeing
vision as the Father wants –
Every week we take out the garbage –
can you imagine if you never
took out the garbage – there was
a woman who never connected
with the company that removed
garbage and she kept 6 months
of garbage in the garage –
we were shocked –
We are to work through the pain and
anger, bitterness in our hearts –
A person can be so filled with stuffed
up anger – in denial they never
admit to themselves –
In the garage with 6 months of garbage
there were bags and bags and
she had to work around the
bags – the smell – the deterioration
of everything discarded –
Life is to be likened to Jesus –
We were created in the image and likeness
of Jesus –
God has called us to work in love in
relationships -
The relationship we have with God
is to be personal, is to be
real, is to be where we
know more and more about Him –
We live to know more about God –
Jesus is the way, the truth and the
life –
We have a capacity that is elevated
to know and love likened
more and more to God.
It isn't a capacity like the garage
that holds the garbage –
It can be more and more full –
full of knowledge about
God, know on a supernatural
level,
But to know more and more about
God – we need God
to fill us more and more with Himself –
to be filled more abundantly by God –
to seek His will – to put on Christ –
to love – to be docile – to give
ourselves to Him – more and more –
to live the Christ life –
I do not plan and prod and
stay stifled in the relationships
God has asked me to work in to
help build His Kingdom –
I am His, open to His direction –
emptying out the old garb age and
learning how to relate in relationships
with God with others –
Giving where God asks me to give –
dying to old ways that keep me stuck
among bags of garbage, that was
dark and stinky and angry
and prideful, envious and jealous –
The interior life can be likened
more and more to a sanctuary of love –
where I know God dwells in me –
God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit dwell in
my graced, baptized soul.
I remember the message He gave
me 21 years ago – Blue Book II – I
Want Both Feet off the Ground –
We want that place within to be
warm, with golden light, with
love, with confidence in God –
one with God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We want to know presence of God
and He rules in our hearts.
He is in us – His vision is in us –
He is filling us more and more with
His life – there is light in us –
We are never alone –

R. Dear Jesus, Give me Your hand to write this book for you. I am your servant. I want to be Your hand to this world. If you, Lord Jesus, would write a book, what would you say?
Jesus: My dear children,
Today I come to deliver a message to each of you. I want to tell you of each person's dignity, of their beauty and their self-worth. Each child is, oh, so uniquely precious to My Most Sacred Heart. Each child is full of the talents I have given to them. Each person is divinely created by God and given all these gifts to be happy and love one another.
The problem comes when you feel you will be left out. That you will be left by another who has trodden on you and will do it again. I see you all as My most precious children. I watch your every move and know all pain and anguish in your heart. My Heart aches, you have insecure feelings about yourself. I came to this earth I died for you. I felt cold, hungry, lonely on this earth. You need not worry that no one knows the pain and anguish in your heart. God created you with such special gifts and talents. It is important for you to raise above your wound and forgive those who hurt you.
You need only turn your will and your life over to Me and I will guide you in all your ways. I have all the Power. Many are not of My ways. The key to life is to recognize your faults, but still know you are this precious gift of My Father a gift to this world. This world is in need of your strength. Running yourself down, blaming others hurting them can cause you misery and pain. At this very moment, you are the precious creation of God!! You must operate with Me in your heart.
You need not run yourself down. I am with you every day guiding your ways, lest your foot stumble and you lose your way. You will not wander far from your path if every day you keep bringing your focus back to Me. If you dare let Me be at the helm, if you dare to really let Me run your life, I will do with you such wonders that you yourself would be amazed. But you will know with such ease when you did these things that you did not do them alone. You will know My power, moving the mountain, My power chipping at the stone, My power working on your hardest problem and you will be set free.
Oh yes, you will be set free and know a serenity that only comes from letting go and letting Me run your life. To you, My child, I have given all that is good. I made you My holy soldier, My warrior in a world of pain and hatred. You are the light that shines in the darkness, you are the coat to a cold child, you are the smile that warms a troubled and lonely heart. You are the comfort for everyone you meet, because My most precious Heart powers you, smiles through you, understands and loves through you.
Love your fellows for Me. There are so many troubled hearts that need to know My love. I can love through you if you let Me, I can be their friend through you if you let Me. I am He who comforts you and you are he who comforts them. My power is endless, it never runs out, there is not a power failure EVER. In your darkest hour, My light shines in the darkness and I say to you, "Oh blessed of My Father, look at yourself with awe, you are My creation, you are indeed so precious to Me, you are My light to this world, you are My hands and My feet and most of all My Heart."
Oh, you are My loving Heart, to those who are bowed down, to those who are lost in the darkness, you carry My smile and wear My armor in a world that is trying to tear one another down with hate and ugliness. There is gentleness, there is love, there is hope in you, if you open yourself up to Me. Be My knight to the world, wear My armor. I am your God and I will protect you from the darkness. Plug into My power, be not afraid, I go before you always and you can rest in My arms when you feel weary. You can put your head in My lap and weep, you will know, I am truly with you and you are My light to this world. I created you so special - to cast out fear in the darkness, to clothe the naked, to give hope to the oppressed, to be as I live in you and love through you and you are My smile and I touch My hurting ones through your love.
You are he who loves this world. You must stay plugged into My power-source. This world is hungry for My love. It needs My love, I give to them through you. I am your God and I made you as a gift to the world. You are filled.
Focus on Me and your life will be abundant and whole, joy in suffering, freedom — but you can take the knocks because you will know you do not go it alone, but with Me. I love you My precious child.

R. Power – He taught me in the
Pre-Blue Book messages – Nobody
has power over Him and His power
never runs out – like the plugs in
our house depend on the power
company etc. –
His Power – never goes out. We
have confidence in Him, we trust
in Him, the Power never goes out –
Jesus has taught us in the Blue Books –
He loves us – He says "I love you, I love
you, I love you", but our relationship
with Jesus – is a relationship – it
isn't deadened by pride where we
think of ourselves all day – it is
a work in progress – it is the
launching of a new missal
every day - that can fly into space
at a quick speed and can be
fixed on the Light of God – on
His Might, the source never
runs out – He is with me –
His light is always there –
no garages full of 50, 60 years
of bags of garbage – I am hiding,
lest I show somebody the
deteriorating and stench of the
garbage held within –
Sing: Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul.
Come into my
heart and permeate my soul.
Help me to sit in silence with You and
let You
work in my heart.
I have been launched day after
day into the mystery of God's
unknown paradise that awaits
the man who loves and serves
the Lord. My eyes are fixed on
Him – He is a light I cannot even
describe, nor have I ever seen –
His light is in letting go of it
all to Him, I can hold on and
control my whereabouts, my
body movements, but when He
comes to tell us our life here is
over – He takes over – can you
control His grasp to take us from
life when He chooses –
Then we will let go – how does
it feel to know you can't
control it – He is coming and
you will let go – you have
no choice.
God comes, when He comes,
He is giving us the ability to move
about now –
Our hearts beat, our blood
moves, we can do things –
our bodies are a miracle themselves –
but why would we stand
stubbornly before God and
parade in front of Him to try to
test Him and act impudent as
if He cannot see the nakedness
of our sin here below –
How can we not raise the
bar and give Him ourselves
in consecration to His Heart
of on-fire-love and let Him
reach down and lead us –
in His world, in His way,
in His truth, in this life He
gives us.
The Spirit is present to lead
us on this journey to Him –
He gives us gifts
Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel,
Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety
and Fear of the Lord
To lead us, to guide us, to have
wisdom, to understand, to
have fortitude – in the
uncertainties of life –
Prayer for Union

have my life in You."
Take down your shoulders –
Let go of your fears –
Be just in your hearts for
the Lord loves justice
and what is right –
Only the fool plays an act of
rebellion before the eyes

space with-in filled with untruths
and deception?
When God offers us a mansion of
warmth and light and
the prison of darkness in
the heart can be from
one's own choosing –
Holding the rocket in its cradle
and stopping the launch
of the new day – made for
him – to love – to be –
to relate – to LIVE –
Living is in Him –

A Journey in the Heart of Christ

THE RED ROOM
Written at 12:00 p.m. after Mass:
He empowers the lowly. I see that as I unite to Him, it is no longer I who live, but He Who lives in me. He is all-powerful. I become one in Him. He operates through me. He lifts our burden. He takes away the resistance.
If I unite to Him, He is praying through me. I envision this experience, and I am united to Him in the deepest union. If I pray this way, it is with this power that the prayer goes to God, united through Him, with Him, and in Him.
When I felt I was in the depth of His Heart, on Dec. 15, 1995, I envisioned a red room. I felt the warmth, the presence of God.
I unite to Him in such oneness. It is so deep in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. He gave His all. I unite deeply to Him when I surrender my all to Him and die to myself in the Consecration of the Mass.
I unite deeply in the Consecration. I unite deeply when I am giving my all to Him. I become one in Their Hearts. I am laid bare as when He died on the cross, and I give my all as He did. He shows us His bare body and His arms outstretched. He wants us to die to ourself. He gave Himself as a complete sacrifice to the Father. It is in giving ourself with Him, to the Father, that the Father is pleased. It is in dying to ourselves in Jesus that we rise to new life in Him. After His death came the Resurrection.
I see the mercy and graces flowing at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. In Holy Communion, He wants us especially to make reparation for our sins and the sins of others. It is at this time Mary asks us to make reparation to her heart, the Hearts crowned with thorns. Their Hearts were pierced. His with a lance, hers invisibly with swords. The wounds are deep and penetrating. Only through Jesus are we saved. He shows us the pierced Heart. It is through this Heart, we receive life and nourishment.
A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul
Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.

We can live a life of comfort in

A man holding out on what God
wants – is holding out
in vain –
The child holding their breath
to get their way at 5
is a scary thing –
everybody doesn't like it –
but the child shows they
can control things –
The silent treatment does not please
God, when God asks us to speak –
his will – every day – all day –
to live justly – live for the honor
and glory of God
We won't be following God
with a docile heart – when we
try to manipulate with silence –
God has called us to relationships –
to prepare our hearts for heaven –
to know the reality of the
interior life and the strength
within in living His plan,
in love, in relationship –
working out with others,
following obedience and order
as God wishes –
God is over us – God has given to
us. God desires our love in
return, our attitude should
be an attitude of gratitude.
In justice we seek to help make
reparation for our sins and
the sins of the human race –
While we are here on earth – we
bring unity and love to
every situation because
our hearts are lighted and
one in Him –
Division that we keep in our hearts,
unforgiveness, anger – brings
darkness to ourselves –
to our space inside –
add that to 50, 60 years and
soon we don't even know
why we are miserable –
we can settle in –
but in the spiritual life
we don't stand still –
What God gives us is "so good" –
So good! Dwelling in
the Heart of Jesus is
"so good"
The storms of life - are storms
like on the book cover –
we don't want to sink
R. We can
scandalize others to
stand in front and not
be more and more loving
as Jesus has called us to
be – to be a leader –
one leads as they try to
force others to be like them
if they are unloving –
Jesus gives us Himself –
Jesus gives –
Through Him, With Him, In Him
R. Christ
gives us confidence even
in the greatest trials –
We see the Sacred Heart – we
are reminded of the Sacred
humanity of Jesus.
Jesus is God-made-Man –
Jesus gives us Himself in
His Divinity and humanity in the
Eucharist –
Through the pierced Heart of Jesus
the Church was born.
To be deeply rooted in the Heart of Jesus
we find comfort –
The interior life in God – one
is deeply rooted in God –

The Agony in the Garden
8. R. How our acts of love comforted Him during His bitter Passion! The greatest agonies were not the agonies that He would experience to His body, but the agonies that He experienced to His Heart. In the garden He was bent over with pain for He was in agony to know all of the sins from all men, from all time.

"During her appearance in July, Our Lady, in answer to Lucia's plea, promised that in October she would work a great miracle so that all might believe and know who she was. Again, the Mother of God told the children to sacrifice themselves for sinners and to say many times, especially when making a sacrifice, this prayer: "O my Jesus, I offer this for love of Thee, for the conversion of poor sinners, and in reparation for all the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary." (11)
"During this same July apparition, Mary showed the three children a vision of Hell. She told them:
"You have seen Hell, where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish, in the world, devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If people do what I tell you, many souls will be saved and there will be peace.
"The war (World War I, then raging) is going to end. But if people do not stop offending God, another and worse one will begin in the reign of Pius XI. When you shall see a night illuminated by an unknown light [January 2, 1938], know that this is the great sign that God gives you that He is going to punish the world for its many crimes by means of war, hunger, and persecution of the Church and the Holy Father. "To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the Communion of Reparation on the five first Saturdays. If my requests are granted, Russia will be converted and there will be peace. If not, she will scatter her errors throughout the world, provoking wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, and various nations will be destroyed....
"But in the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph, the Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, Russia will be converted, and a certain period of peace will be granted to the world." (13)

Think of the deepest loneliness in your heart, the deepest time when you were all alone, and know how it comforted you when someone you loved deeply shared your pain.
Jesus, in the Garden, was in the greatest agony that He sweat blood. How sweet is the love I give Him at this moment. How cool the drops of love against His furrowed brow. How His Heart longed for this love! Our love was sweetness in His great sorrow and our love comforted Him in His bitter Passion. Jesus knew our sweet love in His Passion
Oh, Jesus, that I may never forget this experience, as I suffered and felt pressed down in deepest agony, I know you love me. I felt the great love of Your Heart and your Mother's heart. Release all anxieties and fears as you find such shelter in My Heart.
You are surrounded by My enfolding love. You are warmed and cradled by My arms. I am your tender Jesus, gentlest of all hearts, come to love you so ardently this very day.
Let go into My most waiting arms. My Mother will place you in the very recesses of My Heart. She is your most loving Mother. Come to Me through her Immaculate Heart.

We are here to see – like the morning
waking from a night of darkness –

is this –
The talents wasted, the perfumed
oil the sorrowful woman used on My feet
were not wasted – they were
precious giving honor and glory and
love to Me –

R. What is heaven like?
There is unity, where we are
wrapped in the embrace of
Divine Love, but to get to
heaven we must be pure.
Dear God,
Help us to learn to be obedient
to You and to live according
to Your Law for us. God
is Absolute truth. We have
a lifetime to seek the truth –
our life is a letting go process.
We have to let go to what we were
able to hold onto because of
age, let go of ways we could
do things because our bodies
just can't do it –
God has a Plan for all of us
and we live in time here.
We cannot even understand
what it would be like
to live in this unity, forever
with God.
We are made in the image and likeness
of God. Our life is empty without
love – God is love – God is absolute
truth. God is all knowing –
God is all good.
To be united in eternity – we
are united to infinite knowledge
and goodness and truth and
love –
Intensity, but we must live
to be pure, to live in the truth –
to seek goodness, let no guile
be in the man, but he is
seeking perfection in God.
We are seeking goodness to be able
to embrace it eternally – we are
seeking truth in our life here
below.
Come to me Lord and possess
my soul.

schedule our life and then
decide to put God's will

We are dependent on God –

The love of God is love that is
so generous –
it is not petty and even-stephen,

the taintedness of brute selfishness,
and pride and against the
back drop of God
who gives and gives so generously –
what we have been given are
gifts given by God –
so why should a man try to
prove his greatness before
everyone else – over and over
and over again
Jesus: Let your light shine in the Lord –
Light may be illuminations that
one never sees with their eyes –
like purity seen in generosity
given from a heart of love –
For God is generous to you and others,
like Betty, chose to give their lives
to God in prayer and sacrifice –
all day, all night.
And yet you measure your wealth as
far more precious than anyone
who chooses the gift of living
totally to serve God –
Senseless men can see their own
minds and in denial will
not open up even to see from
the heavenly point of view –
they are too busy being
INDEPENDENT and in control
prodding and planning their next move –
trying to put God's will into their
man-made prideful plan –
They say "Oh I dole out to You God, what
I so generously give", when in fact
I have given to them their life, their
talents, opened up doors and they
did it for their glory; Blessed the
man who lives for the honor and
glory of God. There is no good
outside of Me – I am infinite
Perfection.
How do you measure the purity
of the soul of My Mother
with your money, child –
how do you measure –
love given when I died on the cross
for your sins –
how do you measure forgiveness
of sin and giving men the
reward of eternal happiness –
in your eyes – you see like a
closed door – many of you –
you believe that generosity
and goodness begins and
ends on you –
You have missed the first cause –
the prideful man when he
opens his eyes on rising:
sees himself the first cause –
While a man is seeking his will – he
wastes time and energy in his
life. He should be seeking God's
plan and wanting with his free
will to chose to do God's will
first – and many times that is
not doing the things you would
rather do, but serving God and
doing what He wants.
There is the Divine Law –
You can be united to God's law or
swim against the current and
do your own – causing problems,
disharmony, darkness, independence
is doing your own will –
like Eve in the Garden –
I have given you a free will – to
choose if you will seek God's
will and serve God –
or plan your own plans and
kid yourself trying to put
God in your plan.
To seek My will in love is to go
out and to want the heights –
to pray to the Holy Spirit to
guide the unknown and to
give you wisdom to see
and embrace God's plan –
to be ready to seek goodness,
truth and operate in love –
Giving to God what is His due –
Recognizing God's generosity given
to you –
Love is the best – do you do
what you do for Love of
God or love of self –
To Love is the best – to seek to
serve God and love Him and
love others because God
is love –
The selfish man sees everything
from himself – his point of
view – the wounded man in
denial, judges things from his
box of a wounded heart –
controlling and shutting down
and trying to make others fall
in line under him –
Life is a journey to be lived under God –
Man is dependent on God –
God has a plan –
Man has been given a free will –
What does he do with his
free will?
The will of a man can determine
his outcome in life – You
are to abandon your will and
freely choose love –
love of God first above your
selfish desires –
love of others – because I
showed you the way –
love of self – is living according
to God's will –
not being independent,
but dying to the tainted
ways that are impure
and rising to greater
perfection –
The greatest of all is love –
you seek God, you seek
God's will –
You seek to know God as He is –
You reach up –
You don't start with your mind and
what you desire out of
selfishness and woundedness
and then try to put God in
your plan and make Him
down to your size.
In heaven man will have the
beatific vision and see
God face to face –
In heaven you will have the fullness
of life –
In heaven you will be possessed
by God.
Prayer for Union with Jesus
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.
I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.
I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.
When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

Adam and Eve were created in the
image and likeness of God

They made themselves a rival
to God.

Now, the snake was the most subtle of all the wild animals that Yahweh God had made. It asked the woman, 'Did God really say you were not to eat from any of the trees in the garden?' The woman answered the snake, 'We may eat the fruit of the trees in the garden. Jesus: Adam and Eve were given great
gifts – They chose their own will
over God's will –
They were to be the first teachers
of the human race –
Adam was given these gifts to
teach the children he would
have –
But Adam and Eve chose independence
from God –
And with the sin of Adam and
Eve – disorder entered the
world –
Adam was so gifted, but now the
human race would be subjected
to death and disorder.
You have been given so many
gifts in the sacraments –
The gift of your knowing and loving
capacity elevated in baptism –
to be able to love supernaturally
but you can refuse to love
as God wants you to love and
choose your will over
God's will and see things
from your tainted, closed
down point of view –
I give you a free will to love God and
to seek His will or
choose to be independent of
God's will and try to live
your life – working against
the current and try putting
God into your plan –
which is absurdity!
Hebrews 11: 1-4
Only faith can guarantee the blessings that we hope for, or prove the existence of realities that are unseen. It is for their faith that our ancestors are acknowledged.
It is by faith that we understand that the ages were created by a word from God, so that from the invisible the visible world came to be.
It was because of his faith that Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain, and for that he was acknowledged as upright when God himself made acknowledgement of his offerings. Though he is dead, he still speaks by faith.

... In reference to Christianity, God himself is the ultimate mystery. Radically, God is completely other and transcendent, hidden from man in his inner life, unless he chooses to reveal himself. Let us briefly look at this inner life of God.
The Father, in a perfect act of self-expression, in a perfect act of knowing, generates his son. The Son, the Word, is, then, the immanent expression of God's fullness, the reflection of the Father. Likewise, from all eternity, the Father and the Son bring forth the Holy Spirit in a perfect act of loving.
At the destined moment in human history, God's self-expression, the Word, immersed himself into man's world. God's inner self-expression now had also become God's outer self-expression. Consequently, the mystery of God becomes the mystery of Christ. In Christ, God tells us about himself, about his inner life, about his plan of creation and redemption. He tells us how Father, Son, and Holy Spirit desire to dwell within us in the most intimate fashion, how they wish to share with us their own life through grace. All this he has accomplished and does accomplish through Christ.

R. I remember an experience I had May 25, 1995. It was
Ascension Thursday and it is published in the
Apostles' Manual, the internet and in the 17th
books.I went to Mass at Father Carter's and I was given
deep insight into the Mystery of Christ. I knew
Him so intimately. I saw Him ascend into
heaven. He kept going upward. I knew Him
in a deep way. I knew Him as a
baby, in His death, in His resurrection
and ascension, in my relationship with
Him then in His Eucharistic Presence,
I was just so one with Christ.I reach for words to describe a mystical experience
I had. It is implanted on my soul not
in words, but in knowledge of Him, having deep
insight into the mystery of Christ,
of knowing Him in such an intimate way.

R. Dear God, pour into us Your life
of grace – more and more
that our interior life is
a life of imitation
in You.
There can be that enslavement
where a person chooses
the bad habits of pride,
anger, envy, jealousy,
slothfulness, lust
and gluttony. They say
yes to being prideful –
yes to the selfishness & self-enclosure.
God calls us to live united to Him.
God outpours His grace. We
pray to God to be more and more
abundantly filled with
His grace, His life in us,
to dwell in the Hearts of Jesus & Mary
our little heaven on earth.
Father, Son and Holy Spirit live
in the graced, baptized soul.
Christ is Head of the Mystical
Body. God gives us grace as
members of His Mystical Body,
the Christ-life – His life in
us. We are to live a Christ-like
existence – living out the
mysteries of Christ's life - in
our life – His life, death and resurrection.

pierced Heart of
Christ the Church was born –
water for baptism and blood for
the Eucharist.
The Mass is the sacrifice

Thoughts on the Eucharist
Our personal relationship with Christ is characterized by the realization of the great, personal love of His Heart for each of us and of our need to love Him in return. The chief source for growth in the personal relationship with Jesus is the Eucharist. The Catechism tells us: "The Eucharist is 'the source and summit of the Christian life.' The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and work of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole good of the Church, namely Christ himself, Our Pasch."5

2The Eucharist
At the Last Supper, on the night He was betrayed, our Saviour instituted the Eucharistic Sacrifice of His Body and Blood. He did this in order to perpetuate the sacrifice of the Cross throughout the centuries until He should come again, and so to entrust to His beloved spouse, the Church, a memorial of His death and resurrection: a sacrament of love, a sign of unity, a bond of charity, a paschal banquet in which Christ is consumed, the mind is filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory is given to us (Vatican II, Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, No. 17)
The Church, therefore, earnestly desires that Christ’s faithful, when present at this mystery of faith, should not be there as strangers or silent spectators. On the contrary, through a proper appreciation of the rites and prayers they should participate knowingly, devoutly, and actively. They should be instructed by God’s word and be refreshed at the table of the Lord’s body; they should give thanks to God; by offering the Immaculate Victim, not only through the hands of the priest, but also with him, they should learn to offer themselves too. Through Christ the Mediator, they should be drawn day by day into ever closer union with God and with each other, so that finally God may be all in all. (Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, No. 48)
Through the Eucharistic Sacrifice Christ the Lord desired to set before us in a very special way this remarkable union whereby we are united one with another and with our divine Head, a union that no word of praise can ever sufficiently express. For in this sacrifice the sacred ministers act not only as the representative of our Saviour, but as the representative of the whole Mystical Body and of each one of the faithful. Again, in this act of sacrifice, the faithful of Christ, united by the common bond of devotion and prayer, offer to the eternal Father through the hands of the priest, whose prayer alone has made it present on the altar, the Immaculate Lamb, the most acceptable victim of praise and propitiation for the Church’s universal need. Moreover, just as the divine Redeemer, while dying on the Cross, offered Himself to the eternal Father as Head of the whole human race, so now, ‘in this clean oblation’ He not only offers Himself as Head of the Church to His heavenly Father but in Himself His mystical members as well. He embraces them all, yes, even the weaker and more ailing members with the deepest love of His Heart. (Pope Pius XII, Mystici Corporis AAS. XXXV, 232-233)
