Dear Member and Donor,

I give my heart to Jesus and Mary with you in love. Merry Christmas!

Jesus asked me to send you Blue Book 11. In this troubled world we can turn to Jesus.

Here is what Jesus said to tell you.

Excerpt from Response in Christ - Chapter 4 by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.

In schematic outline we have discussed the manner in which the baptized Christian extends his Mass to his daily existence. As he so lives out his Mass, he is becoming more Christlike. He becomes a more perfect priest and victim for his next participation in the eucharistic sacrifice.42 The beautiful cycle which the Mass contains lies exposed before us. As part of this cycle the Christian is intimately involved in the process of continued redemption. The Mass is the center of the Christian life: ". . . the liturgy is the summit toward which the activity of the Church is directed; at the same time it is the fount from which all her power flows."43

42. For a current treatment of the varied richness of the Eucharist, cf. J. Wicks, "The Movement of Eucharistic Theology" in Chicago Studies, Vol. 10 (1971), pp. 267-284.

Jesus: I call you to live your lives as devout members of the mystical body of Christ. I have given these writings that men will realize that they are to live united deeply to the Mass going on around the world. Your lives, given as an offering, a sacrifice every moment in union with the Mass going on around the world. Your life, a sacrifice, offered to the Father, in union with the Mass in oneness with Me, in the Holy Spirit through the intercession of the Blessed Mother with all the angels and saints and the souls in purgatory.

Your lives given as members of My mystical body can help to bring down great graces for the priest, the Church and the world.

Excerpt from Response in Christ - Chapter 4 by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.

"How does the Christian help Christ redeem the world? (Henceforth the term "world" is to be understood as including both rational and nonrational creation.) As previously stated, the Christian helps Christ redeem the world by reliving Christ's mysteries. The same "events" or mysteries which accomplished the objective redemption further the subjective redemption also. Since at the heart of Christ's mysteries are His death and Resurrection, it is especially these that the Christian must relive. As the Christian dies mystically with Christ through loving conformity with the Father's will, he rises with Christ to an ever greater share in the Resurrection, in the newness of life, in the life of grace. As the Christian in this manner relives the paschal mystery of Christ, he is accomplishing not only his own redemption, but he is also, in a mysterious yet real manner, helping Christ redeem the world."

Sorrowful Mysteries

The Agony in the Garden

  1. R. Always in compliance to the Father’s will, we see this as we mediate on all the mysteries of the rosary, how Jesus and Mary always complied to the will of the Father. To have peace and joy in our lives, we must always comply to the will of the Father. We see Jesus in the garden, His face covered with a bloody sweat, and at any moment He could have stopped everything. He could have withdrawn. He, the Almighty God, all powerful and almighty, about to undergo the cruel Passion and His death, and He sees this before Him. He sees all the sins of men and all the men that would reject the grace that He merited for them, but what did He think of? He saw us. He saw us here this night praying, and it filled His Heart with immense joy. It gave Him so much pleasure in His Heart to know that we would love Him so much, for He is a Person and He longs to be loved by His beloved creatures. We do not comprehend and we do not understand how much Jesus is waiting and longing for our love. Let us, in this rosary, give our love to Him by giving our complete attention to Him and listening to the words that He speaks to our hearts. Let us hear Jesus as He outpours His love to us and teaches us about Himself.

  2. R. How many times have we felt like we have gone through this Passion too in our lives? Have we felt buckled over and filled with pain? It is so hard sometimes. We are trying so hard in this world, that does not recognize God as it should, to please the Almighty God, and it seems like we are pressed on and pressed on, and we say, "God please help us. Take this cross away." But He allows us to continue to suffer, and we do not understand. It is in the death that there is the resurrection. Constantly in our lives, we live this Paschal mystery of death - resurrection. Let us mediate on the mysteries of this rosary, His suffering and His death, and let us think all through these mysteries how He rose victorious on the third day, how it is through His death that we share in His Divine life. Let us think of how it is to know God and to love Him. It is because of Jesus, because of His Passion and His death, that we are able to partake in His Divine life. Through our little deaths, there is always the resurrection. As we go through our lives, we grow more and more in this life in Him. Mary, the Mother of our Christ-life, is there with us, is leading us deeply into the Heart of her Son.

  3. R. Treasure beyond all treasures is the Heart of Jesus. The Heart filled with endless, Divine love, the Heart from which the life of God flows. They pierced His Heart with a lance and what came forth was Blood and water. Water - a symbol of Baptism whereby we partake in His Divine life. Blood - a symbol of the Eucharist by which we are fed with the Bread of Life. Oh God, how we love You! Let our hearts be focused only on You in this rosary. As we see Your face covered with Blood, as we see the Blood drop to the ground, as we know the immense mental agony that You suffered in the garden, the suffering to know how You would be rejected and forgotten by those that You gave Your life for, may we know a little bit, just a little, of how much You truly love us. We love You. We love You. We love You, Jesus Christ the Savior of the world.

  4. Song: "I come to you with greatest love, I am your loving Savior. I am your God, I died for you, I come to you this day."
Jesus:  I have come to set brother against brother, mother against son. My beloved ones, I am Jesus Christ the Son of God. I give you My life, and I give you My love. You must focus totally on My love for you. You must come to Me and give Me your love and give love to one another. This is the commandment that I give to you - that you love God with your whole heart, your whole soul, and your whole being, and you love one another as you love yourselves.

  5. Jesus: Mental torment, My beloved ones, how I suffered mental torment in the garden, but My thoughts were comforted by the love that you give to Me this evening. Put aside all of the thoughts in your heart that do not pertain to Me, and focus totally on your beloved Savior. I gave My life for you. Will you give Me your mind and your heart at this moment, and let Me fill you with My grace that you will share more and more in My life? I am giving to you a great treasure at this moment. You must open your heart and let Me pour My grace into your heart and into your soul. I am Jesus. I love you with the most burning love you do not even comprehend. Your souls are thirsty for the love of God. You were created for this love. Nothing on this earth will satisfy this craving, this appetite within you except My love. You must put aside all of the thoughts in your mind, in your heart and focus on Me, for I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. I am Jesus the Son of God, your Savior, your Redeemer, your King, your Lover. Open your heart, and I will fill your heart with Divine love. I love you. I love you. I love you, My sweet one.

  6. Song: You Are Mine

  7. Jesus:  The world is asleep, My beloved ones. They are walking in darkness. They are covered with a cloud. Their eyes do not see, and their ears do not hear. I have lifted the veil for you, My chosen ones, and I am giving to you a great grace that you will see with eyes unveiled and hear with ears that are open to My Word. You have been called, and you have been chosen. You will walk into the dark night as lights shining, and My light will radiate from your heart and from your soul. Come to Me and let Me bathe you in My love, in My most Sacred Heart.

  8. Jesus:  I am alive. I am alive. I am alive and I live in your heart, and I live in this world as you walk the streets. It is through you that My grace will touch many hearts. You must surrender totally and give yourself to Me. Give yourself. Give your heart to My Mother for she will turn your cold heart into a warm heart that will unite with My Heart. I love you, My dear one. I am telling you the secrets of My Heart, that you will know the true treasure, the treasure that this world has cast aside and is suffering for its ignorance and neglect. See with eyes unveiled for I am giving to you a great grace given to My dearest saints. You are My apostles that will carry the flag across this earth, that will carry My flag, full of love, to the world that is hurting and in pain.

  9. R. And He saw it all. He saw the whole Passion before Him. He knew vividly every pain. He knew every beating, every thorn prick. He knew all that He would suffer. He knew the pain on the cross and three agonizing hours that He would suffer. He knew all the souls that would go to hell despite His suffering. But despite all of this, He gave Himself. He gave Himself for me and He gave Himself for you, knowing full well everything that He would suffer, because of His great love for us, that we would be saved, that we would share in His Divine life, that we might be with Him forever and ever in heaven.

  10. R. Oh Heart of Jesus, Treasure beyond all treasures, give me the grace to dwell forever in Your Heart.
Song: Oh Burning Heart, Oh Love divine, how sweet You are to me. I see the Host, I know You’re here to love and care for me.

The Scourging at the Pillar

  1. R. They took Him away and they tied Him to the pillar, and they began to beat Him. They took turns beating our beloved Savior. Stand there. Let us picture ourselves tied to the pillar. Picture us.
Jesus: How is the love in your heart, My beloved ones? Would you stand at the pillar and allow men that you loved to tear your flesh, knowing full well that you could stop it at any moment? I stood at the pillar and they tore My flesh, and My blood fell to the ground. I withstood this for your sins. Do you know how I suffered for your sins, the sins that you commit towards your brothers, when you talk about your brothers, those that I love. My way is love. You are My apostles of love. You must be holy. Your hearts must be filled with holiness. You must go into the world and to always show others how to love. You cannot talk about others. You must have hearts filled with love. Only in love will your heart unite to My Heart. People are watching you. You are the stars against the darkest night. Will you shine or will you be dull? In order to shine, your heart must be likened to My Heart. Give Me your heart, My dear ones, and I will turn your heart to a heart of love.

  2. Jesus: How you insist and insist to go your way and try and try and try. Do you know, My dear ones, that I am with you at every moment? You must admit your dependency on Me. You must surrender and say, "Jesus, I am totally dependent on You. I want to be loving, but I fall. I am a little baby. I need You to help me to love like You. I cannot do it on my own." Go to confession, My dear ones, and tell the priest of the times when you talked about your beloved brother, for I stood at the pillar and I was beaten for your sins, and I was beaten for your brother that I love. I am teaching you in the Shepherds of Christ Movement to be of one mind and one heart. Your heart will unite in the deepest union with My Heart, but you must give way. You must not let thoughts of bitterness and hatred toward one another creep into your heart. I am allowing you to suffer, and I am allowing you to watch yourself fall, for you will come crawling on your knees and beg Me, "to help me." "Help me, God," you will say. "Help me. I want to love like You, but I cannot do it myself."

  3. Jesus: I was beaten for you, My beloved ones. You do not know how sins against your brother offend Me and hurt Me. How I was beaten for those words that you speak in hatred toward one another. You are the stars that will shine against the darkness. You are My apostles, but your hearts must be pure. You must come to Me for you cannot do this on your own. I will give you the grace to love, to love as I loved, as I love each and every soul. You are dependent on Me, My dear ones. Watch yourself fall on your face and know that you need Me to help you.

  4. Jesus: Hearts that are haughty and prideful cannot unite to My Heart. There are many this day that are in control, that continue to control with proud hearts. I give to many authority and power. It is to be used only according to the Father's will. Your hearts must be soft and gentle as My Heart. You must not let power and control go to your head, My dear one. You have authority only as the Father gives you authority.

This is from the reading today:
"Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre,
        ‘The Lord Yahweh says this:
Because your heart has grown proud,
        you thought: I am a god;
        I am divinely enthroned
        far out to sea.
Though you are human, not divine,
        you have allowed yourself
        to think like God.
        So, you are wiser than Daniel;
no sage as wise as you!
By your wisdom and your intelligence
you have made yourself a fortune,
you have put gold and silver
        into your treasuries.
Such is your skill in trading,
your fortune has continued to increase,
and your fortune has made your heart
        grow prouder.

‘And so, the Lord Yahweh says this:
        Since you have allowed yourself
        to think like God,
very well, I am going to bring foreigners
        against you,
the most barbarous of the nations.
        They will draw sword against
        your fine wisdom,
        they will desecrate your splendour,
they will throw you down into the grave
and you will die a violent death
        far out to sea.
Will you still think: I am a god,
        when your slaughterers confront you?
But you will be human, not divine,
in the clutches of the ones
        who strike you down!
You will die like the uncircumcised at the hand of foreigners.
‘For I have spoken-declares the Lord Yahweh.
    ’" (Ezk. 28:2-10)

  5. Jesus: I am gentle, and I am kind of Heart. I have made men the head of their homes. I have given to the priests authority and a great gift to be called a priest and to offer sacrifice. I have bestowed on men great honor, but within the heart of every man that is given power must be the heart of gentleness and love. I stood at the pillar, and I was beaten and My skin was torn because of the haughty hearts, because of the pride, because of men that wanted their will and not the will of the Father. Everything that you do must be in accordance with the Father’s will. I showed you the way. I stood at the pillar and was beaten because it was the Father's will. You must strive always to do the will of the Father with love. Love is your primary purpose, to love God above all things and love one another as you love yourselves.

  6. Jesus: You have been called here, and I am teaching you in each rosary and in God’s Blue Book. My beloved ones, you have been called to live these messages, and you have answered this call. I look at you in this room, and I know how each one of you have studied and how you live these messages. I am giving to you this grace, and I am showing you, My dear ones, I am showing you things that I showed only to the greatest saints. Praise and thank your God for the gifts that you are given.

  7. Jesus: Read My letters of love to you. You will carry these messages to the world. You will be the light that shines in the darkest night. I stood at the pillar, and I was beaten. I was beaten because of the haughty hearts. Your heart must be likened to Mine. You are My apostles that will carry this message into this world. You do not comprehend this great mission. Each one of you have been called here. You must respond to the call for I am asking you to help with the souls. What you do will help many souls to be saved. I stood at the pillar, and they tore My flesh. I love each soul with the most burning love that I allowed them to put Me to death. Will you go into this world? Will you walk fearlessly ahead despite the persecution and the verbal battering that you receive? Will you say to this world, “This is the Almighty God. He is alive this day, and He loves you. He loves you. He loves you. Come. Come to Him, and He will give you what your heart desires.”

  8. 1 Corinthians 12:12-26
"For as with the human body which is a unity although it has many parts-all the parts of the body, though many, still making up one single body-so it is with Christ. We were baptized into one body in a single Spirit, Jews as well as Greeks, slaves as well as free men, and we were all given the same Spirit to drink. And indeed the body consists not of one member but of many. If the foot were to say, 'I am not a hand and so I do not belong to the body,' it does not belong to the body any the less for that. Or if the ear were to say, 'I am not an eye, and so I do not belong to the body,' that would not stop its belonging to the body. If the whole body were just an eye, how would there be any hearing? If the whole body were hearing, how would there be any smelling?
As it is, God has put all the separate parts into the body as he chose. If they were all the same part, how could it be a body? As it is, the parts are many but the body is one. The eye cannot say to the hand, 'I have no need of you,' and nor can the head say to the feet, 'I have no need of you.'
What is more, it is precisely the parts of the body that seem to be the weakest which are the indispensable ones. It is the parts of the body which we consider least dignified that we surround with the greatest dignity; and our less presentable parts are given greater presentability which our presentable parts do not need. God has composed the body so that greater dignity is given to the parts which were without it, and so that there may not be disagreements inside the body but each part may be equally concerned for all the others. If one part is hurt, all the parts share its pain. And if one part is honoured, all the parts share its joy."

  9. Jesus: You cannot be divided with any person and have peace in your heart. Your hearts must be hearts of love. You must give up any bitterness and division in your hearts towards any person, for I am God and in My Heart there is not division. I am calling you My apostles of love, My little army that I have called and brought to this room this evening. You must be as the brightest stars shining against the darkened night, for I am Jesus; I am the Almighty God, and I have called you to carry the messages of My burning love to this world, to the priests, to the sisters, to all those that are hurting and in pain. As I stood at the pillar and I was whipped for the sins of men, I knew that you would answer this call. And it was joy to My Heart as the blood ran down My body. My Heart was comforted, because of the work and love that you would give to others because of the souls that you would help. You are My stars that will shine in the darkest night. You have been called. You have been chosen, and I have given to you such grace that you can carry out this mission. You can say 'no' to Me, My dear ones, but it was there when I was scourged that your 'yes' comforted Me. In My greatest agony, I saw you as I hung on the cross. My body withered and in pain, I saw you, and I saw the love that would go forth from your heart into this world. I love you with such love. I gave Myself for love of you and for all souls. Will you help your brothers to know My love?

  10. Song: One Bread, One Body
    Song: Only This I Want
Jesus: There will be peace and joy in your hearts when you comply always to the Father's will. The Father has a plan for you. I am the Way. I am the Truth. I am the Life. You have been called. You have been chosen. Will you answer My call, My apostles of love?

The Crowning with Thorns

  1. R. Think of the minds of men, and think of how Satan presses on the minds of men. Think of how our thoughts can be so influenced by the evil one, how we can worry about what other people think, how we can think others are talking about us, how we can make ourselves miserable by giving in to our thoughts. Jesus showed us His head crowned with thorns. How He suffered such pain to His head, yet we cannot discipline our thoughts. Let us pray for the grace to ask God to help us to keep our thoughts always thoughts of love, of harmony, of oneness with one another.

  2. Jesus: You must not give in to the seeds of division that Satan plants in your minds. You must say, My loved ones, “I love that person. I love that person.” But do you know that you cannot do this on your own? Do you know that you depend totally on Me?  I have allowed you to fall on your face many times. You, My dear ones, you need My grace. You are dependent on My grace. If you are holy, it is because of the grace that I am giving to you. It is not because of your own volition. I am Jesus. You are dependent on Me, My loved ones. You must come to Me and ask for the grace to love. I want to love through you in this world.

  3. R. We must come to the Father as the little, dependent child. We must tell Him of our love and tell Him of our needs.

  4. Jesus: Picture yourself in a chair surrounded by those people that you love the most. Do you see all the people you love? And then watch, My beloved ones, as those you love the most come to you and pound a crown of thorns in your head, and you watch the blood from your head fall on your body.

  5. Jesus: How many times have you crowned Me with thorns by your thoughts of hatred and anger toward one another. I suffered immense pain because of the thoughts of men. You are My chosen ones. Pray that you do not wound My Heart with thoughts of hatred and bitterness for I love you. I love you so much, and it wounds My Heart when you hate one another.

  6. Jesus: You must model your lives after My Mother. You must look at My Mother, her heart pure and sinless. It is only in purity that you will unite to Our Hearts.

  7. Jesus:  Go to the heart of My Mother, and ask the Holy Spirit to sanctify you that you may unite in the deepest union in My Heart.

  8. Jesus:  You do not know the hatred and the bitterness, the thoughts in the hearts and minds of some men. How I suffered so much pain to My head for the ugly, horrible thoughts of mankind. God is offended by the acts of man this day. Help make reparation to Him for your sins and the sins of mankind. Reparation given to My Heart delights Me, My dear ones. God is offended by sinful men.

  9. Song: "Oh Burning Heart, Oh Love divine, how sweet You are to me. I see the Host, I know You’re here to love and care for me."
    R. Jesus is alive. Jesus is alive. Jesus is alive, and He lives within our hearts.

  10. Song: Give me Your Heart Oh Jesus, Give me a heart like Yours. Teach me to love You with this new heart, Oh I know little of how to love You. Create in me Oh precious Saviour this special heart.
    R. He loves you. He loves you. He loves you.

The Carrying of the Cross

  1. Jesus:  Carry your cross, My beloved ones. I watch you as you walk, and I place that cross on your back, but I know that it is in carrying the cross that you will be given much life. You want to put the cross aside, but it is in carrying the cross that you will grow more and more in your knowledge and love of Me.

  2. Jesus:  I watch you carry the cross, and I watch you move it from shoulder to shoulder. I watch as it slips down your arm and you fall to the ground, and I am so close to you. I stand beside you and I say, “Carry it a little while longer. Carry it a little longer.” My dear one, for you do not know the great gift that you will receive. At the end of the darkest tunnel, there is the brightest light. I am Jesus. I give to you according to your needs. I give to you suffering. You must learn to endure the suffering and realize that it is a gift in which you will grow more and more in your life in Me.

  3. R. My Jesus, I carried the cross and carried the cross and the tunnel was so dark and so black, and I felt as if I would never smile again. But I remember those times, and it was so hard. It was so hard when I felt as if I was dying on the cross with You, and then the light began to steal across the sky, and the glory was beyond all suffering. For after the death, there is the resurrection, our lives, a constant dying and rising in Him.

  4. R. Help me realize that we are given suffering and that we must endure the suffering until He lifts the suffering.
Jesus:  When you are backed up against a wall, My beloved ones, you must surrender and accept all that I give to you and give yourselves to Me, for I am breathing on your neck when you are wrapped up in pain. I am looking in your eyes when you are down under the cross. I am holding your hand when you think I am so far away, and I know all things. I know of the great gifts that will come when you endure the sufferings that I am giving to you. There is always the life after the death when you stay rooted in Me. Carry the cross on your back, and remember that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

  5. R. It’s a rocky road that He trod on the way to Calvary, and He knew that it would end in His death, but He knew of the Resurrection. He carried the cross and it bumped along, and He saw into the eyes of His Mother that comforted Him.
Jesus:  Look into My eyes, My beloved ones. Be wrapped in the embrace of the love of Our Two Hearts. In the suffering, you must go to Our Hearts and know that you are never alone and I will never abandon you. I am almighty, all powerful. I am God, and I am with you to the end of time.

  6. R. And there will come the day when we are lifted into heaven, and we will be wrapped in the Divine embrace, that we will know the embrace of the Almighty God. We must carry our crosses on our backs. Each day, carry the cross and share in the Resurrection. Our lives are this dying and rising, each day.

  7. Jesus:  The world tells you that you should not suffer, but I show you the way. Look at Me, My face covered with blood, My head crowned with thorns, the cross bearing down on My back. I could barely move and I fell to the ground, but on the third day I rose victorious.

  8. R. Thump. Thump. Thump. Hear the cross of Jesus. See the stress on His face. See the Blood as it pours from His Body. See Him fall under the cross. Do you hear the crowd? Do you hear them holler at our beloved Savior? He withstood all of this in silence. Mary, knowing that He was the Almighty God, stood by, her Heart torn within her chest watching her Son suffer. And They are appearing to us this day. They are appearing to tell us of Their love. This is love that Jesus carried the cross, that He gave His Body and His Blood, that He wants the world to know that He is alive and that He loves and wants to be loved by man.

  9. Song: Give me Your Heart Oh Jesus, Give me a heart like Yours. Teach me to love You with this new heart, Oh I know little of how to love You. Create in me Oh precious Saviour this special heart.

  10. Hail Mary

The Crucifixion

  1. R. The greatest Sacrifice of all, the Son of God comes to this earth, and He gives Himself as a sacrifice for love of us that we will be saved.

  2. R. The Sacrifice is sacramentally made present at every Mass, the priest offers this Sacrifice. We must unite in this Sacrifice and give ourselves. As Jesus sacrificed Himself on the cross, we sacrifice ourselves in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in union with Him. It is in uniting in this oneness with Christ that the grace will be released on this earth and that many souls will be saved. This is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. We are not there as spectators. We are there to offer sacrifice, to give ourselves. It is when we give ourselves that grace is outpoured on the earth.

  3. R. We must pray for holy priests, that priests will be holy in their hearts and unite in such oneness with the Heart of Jesus, that as they celebrate the Mass and offer sacrifice, that they too offer themselves as a sacrifice in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The Sacrifice of Calvary is sacramentally made present at every Mass.

  4. R. The grace that was merited by Christ through His life and death on the cross is released in abundant proportion in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The more we unite in this oneness with the Mass, the more this grace is released. Our world is in a desperate state. We must unite in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in our morning offering, every morning, uniting each one of our activities with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

  5. R. Our actions are magnified, and immense amount of grace is released on us and on this world when we unite to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in all of our actions.

  6. R. All of our actions, when performed in accordance with the Father’s will with love, are heroic actions when we unite them to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, for grace rains on the earth and the people on this earth. Many will be saved as we unite to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in all of our actions and as we become one in Their Hearts. This is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the fountain of God’s life outpoured on the earth. Jesus gave Himself. "This is My Body. This is My Blood." Let us tap into this fountain of His life at every second as we unite every action to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

  7. R. And they pierced His Heart, and the sacramental life of the Church was born.

  8. R. His life is a fountain of life pouring out on the earth from the side of Christ.

  9. Jesus: My beloved ones, everything is a grace. You must pray for grace. You unite every morning, in the morning offering, to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, for My grace will spill upon this earth and it will be lighted with the brightest light. You are My fervent souls that I have called and that I am joining to My Heart. In this oneness, the grace will be released on the earth, and many souls will be helped. Do not underestimate the value of every action you perform when you unite to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in the morning offering. I am Jesus. I came to this world the Savior. Bring Me souls! Bring Me souls, My beloved ones! You are My apostles. You will help many souls through your efforts that you make to circulate these messages and rosaries in this world. Many will know the fire of My burning love. Do not underestimate the importance of your life. You will struggle, and you will suffer. Look at Me as I hung on the cross. I show you the way. I show you My way. But in the death there is the resurrection. Give Me yourself. Give Me yourself. I want your love. I want you to talk to Me all through the day. When you are worried and troubled, I want you to say in your heart, “Jesus, I love You. Jesus, I love You.” Put aside the thoughts that Satan is planting in your heads, the seeds of doubt and division, and say, “Jesus, I love You.” Take that moment to spend time with Me, loving Me, and I will strengthen you. I want your love. I want you to long and to thirst for My love. I want you to tell Me you love Me. I am a Person. I want you to love Me. I gave My life for you. Will you give your heart to Me?

  10. R. It is in complying to the will of the Father that we will have peace and joy in our lives. We see Jesus in the arms of His Mother. Jesus complied to the will of His Father to His death, and Mary complied to the will of the Father. She did not shout all through the Passion and holler, "This is God! What is the matter with you?" She was silent and she accepted the suffering, for she knew the Father had a plan, and she knew that she must endure the suffering. She knew that Jesus must die. She complied always to the will of the Father. Jesus complied to the will of the Father to His death. He shows us the way. His way is suffering and life. The world shows us another way. They show us a way that leads our hearts to hunger and to pain. His way is the way to joy, peace, and love.

Jesus: I love you. I love you. I love you. I am Jesus. I give Myself to you. It is in giving yourself to Me that we will unite. I give Myself to you in love, but to become one with Me, you must give yourself to Me. You will share in My Divine love. Nothing on the face of this earth can compare to this love relationship with My Divine Heart. Love is relationship. I give Myself to you. You will share in accordance to how much of yourself you give to Me. I want your all. I promise you peace, love, and joy in your heart when you give yourself to Me. I love you.  To My death, I loved you.

Jesus: I would die for you this day. Will you give Me your heart?

Feast of the Holy Family

Sirach 3: 2-6, 12-14

for the Lord honours the father above his children
and upholds the rights of a mother over her sons.
Whoever respects a father expiates sins,
whoever honours a mother is like someone amassing a fortune.
Whoever respects a father will in turn be happy with children,
the day he prays for help, he will be heard.
Long life comes to anyone who honours a father,
whoever obeys the Lord makes a mother happy.

My child, support your father in his old age,
do not grieve him during his life.
Even if his mind should fail, show him sympathy,
    do not despise him in your health and strength;
for kindness to a father will not be forgotten
but will serve as reparation for your sins.

Psalm 128: 1-5

How blessed are all who fear Yahweh,
    who walk in his ways!

Your own labours will yield you a living,
happy and prosperous will you be.
Your wife a fruitful vine
in the inner places of your house.
Your children round your table
like shoots of an olive tree.

Such are the blessings that fall
    on those who fear Yahweh.
May Yahweh bless you from Zion!
May you see Jerusalem prosper
all the days of your life,
and live to see your children’s children!

Peace to Israel!

Colossians 3: 12-21

As the chosen of God, then, the holy people whom he loves, you are to be clothed in heartfelt compassion, in generosity and humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with one another; forgive each other if one of you has a complaint against another. The Lord has forgiven you; now you must do the same. Over all these clothes, put on love, the perfect bond. And may the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it is for this that you were called together in one body. Always be thankful.

Let the Word of Christ, in all its richness, find a home with you. Teach each other, and advise each other, in all wisdom. With gratitude in your hearts sing psalms and hymns and inspired songs to God; and whatever you say or do, let it be in the name of the Lord Jesus, in thanksgiving to God the Father through him.

Wives, be subject to your husbands, as you should in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be sharp with them. Children, be obedient to your parents always, because that is what will please the Lord. Parents, do not irritate your children or they will lose heart.

Matthew 2: 13-15, 19-23

After they had left, suddenly the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, ‘Get up, take the child and his mother with you, and escape into Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, because Herod intends to search for the child and do away with him.’ So Joseph got up and, taking the child and his mother with him, left that night for Egypt, where he stayed until Herod was dead. This was to fulfil what the Lord had spoken through the prophet:

I called my son out of Egypt.

After Herod's death, suddenly the angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said, 'Get up, take the child and his mother with you and go back to the land of Israel, for those who wanted to kill the child are dead.' So Joseph got up and, taking the child and his mother with him, went back to the land of Israel. But when he learnt that Archelaus had succeeded his father Herod as ruler of Judaea he was afraid to go there, and being warned in a dream he withdrew to the region of Galilee. There he settled in a town called Nazareth. In this way the words spoken through the prophets were to be fulfilled:

He will be called a Nazarene.

Holy Family

December 30, 2007

HOMILY – (Sirach 3:3-7, 14-17a, Colossians 3:12-21, Matthew 2:13-15, 19-23) Just a few days ago we heard St. Luke describe the birth of Jesus at Bethlehem. Although the manger may not have been the Ritz, we imagined a scene described in the song: Silent night, Holy night. The silence of that night was broken only by the angels praising God and announcing peace to God’s people on earth. Now we hear Matthew’s gospel. The peace and quiet are gone. The paranoid king, Herod the Great, is intent on destroying the child Jesus and the Holy Family have to escape by leaving their own homeland and becoming refugees in neighboring Egypt. It’s like a splash of cold water in the face, but this splash is really a splash of cold reality, reminding us that no family, not even the holiest has a stress-free existence. It also reminds us of the universal conflict and tension between the forces of good and evil, light and darkness, grace and sin. The forces of evil lined up against Jesus right from the beginning. Matthew’s story also reminds us that although our decision to follow Jesus takes us along a road that leads to eternal happiness, that road is not always a paved or smooth.

Our focus today is on the family. The importance of the family cannot be overstated or over emphasized. The family is where we discover what it means to be human, what are our strengths and weaknesses, where we experience love and forgiveness, where we learn about relationships, unity, sacrifice, loving others, accepting others, where we learn values and attitudes and trust and how to handle stress and how to be responsible. Family is where we learn how to get along with one another. All these important learning tasks are hopefully learned in a family that is relatively healthy. I say “relatively healthy” because none of us and none of our families are perfect. A family that is seriously dysfunctional teaches a lot of other things that end up not being very helpful. The success of society depends depend on the health of the family. That creates a big burden for families to carry. It also puts a big burden on society to care about the family and to foster healthy families.

Today we celebrate the importance of another family, our parish family. Here too we discover who we are as God’s children, how to trust God and to love God and one another. We learn values here too, values that are intended to lead us into eternal life. Hopefully we learn how to give as well as take, how to forgive as well as be forgiven. Here we gather around a family table to be fed, not with perishable food but with food that will nourish us eternally. Our faith community is just as important in its own way as our family of origin. And the Lord’s supper that we share is just as important to our spiritual well being as being together and eating together as a family is to our emotional well being.

Today we celebrate 10 years as the united family of St. Boniface and St. Patrick. Back in 1853 St. Aloysius was founded as the Catholic parish in North Side. It didn’t last as such. The area grew and there was not always peace between the Irish and the Germans, so in less than 10 years St. Aloysius became two parishes: St. Boniface and St. Patrick. On December 29, 1991 we formally became once again, a single parish. Since St. Boniface was structurally the stronger of the two andsince St. Boniface had a school, St. Patrick parishioners moved here and the move was a good one from practically every aspect. Only a hand full of people that I know of were unhappy about the merger. (We passedout a booklet a few years ago which contains much more history about our parish. Most people probably already have one, but if you do not we have some more at the doors of church.)

It has been my privilege to be pastor here for the ten years since our merger. None of us knows what the future holds, but if I could make a guess, I think for many reasons St. Boniface will be here for a long time. As for myself, if my health holds up and if the Archbishop lets me I would like to be here for at least another six years. By then I will be 70. I do not know what I will do when I turn 70. I will have to reevaluate things when I get there.

I do want to say how grateful I am to have so many people’s support. There’s only one thing I wish, and that is that more people took seriously the serious obligation to attend Mass weekly. I think that for the most partfamilies are strengthened by meals together. And the Lord’s supper is our family meal each week. I have seen too many people, once they get away from going to Mass every week, slowly drift away from their faith. St. Paul gives us a wonderful list of virtues that would enhance and enrich any of our relationships with one another, especially the relationships within our families: compassion, kindness, gentleness, humility, patience, forgiveness, etc. Notice in this short passage he tells us twice to be grateful. The words St. Paul wrote of course were Greek, but you might find it instructive to hear what words he used: the verb he used was “Eucharisteo.” And he tells us we are to become “Eucharistos.” It is obvious from these words that the Eucharist allows us to perfectly fulfill his mandate. It is a perfect act of thanksgiving because, in a special way, we, as God’s sons and daughters, offer thanks in union with God’ own Son, Jesus Christ. May we, on this anniversary, give thanks for our family in Christ, and for our own immediate families. May we be strong and healthy families, full of thankfulness, and may we rejoice one day in the home of the one Father we all have in common, our Father in heaven. Amen.

Guiding Light - Reflect on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light homily series - Reflect on the Word - Cycle B —  The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $15

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light homily series - Steadfast to the Son - Cycle A — The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul - Cycle C — In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word - Cycle B — At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15

Guiding Light - The Word Alive in Our Hearts

Shepherds of Christ Prayer Manual. The Shepherds of Christ has prayer chapters all over the world praying for the priests, the Church and the world. These prayers that Father Carter compiled in the summer of 1994 began this worldwide network of prayer. Currently the prayers are in eight languages with the Church’s Imprimatur. We have prayed daily for the priests, the Church, and the world since 1994. Associates are called to join prayer Chapters and help us circulate the newsletter centered on spreading devotion to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and helping to renew the Church through greater holiness. Please form a Prayer Chapter & order a Prayer Manual.

Priestly Newsletter - 2000 #1 - CD. - Christ is Our Strength - Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our-selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10

Priestly Newsletter - 2000 #2 - CD. - Suffering: A Source of Life - Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. Fr. Carter knew suffering that year. His voice is so powerful as he read each Newsletter from his heart and soul. "Every man has his own share in the redemption. Each one is also called to share in that suffering through which the redemption was accomplished. He is called to share in that suffering through which all human suffering has also been redeemed. In bringing about the redemption through suffering, Christ has also raised human suffering to the level of the redemption. Thus each man in his suffering can also become a sharer in the redemptive suffering of Christ–." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10
