Prayer for Grace for our Country

Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our new president as he takes office. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

                January 14, 2017

                R. We need to pray and spray now in these
                days before the inauguration. God
is calling us so firmly to say this prayer
                all through the day.

                R. We are the Shepherds of Christ and God has
called us to pray these prayers now with
devotion to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart –

Yes this is a very strong message –

Go to the tabernacle if you can and
                    pray for this transition –

                Use the prayer

                Pray hard at Mass –

Spread the Blood of Jesus on
the Country and all in it
                        and the world –

Spray holy water where you live
                    and bless the United States

holy water if you have it –

                We join together –

                    God's army of prayer

                R. Pray the Holy Spirit Novena

                Pray for President elect Trump
                    and Pence and whole
                    team for protection

                Pray for decisions

                Pray for President Obama leaving
                    office and all involved

                Mary: Pray, Pray, Pray
                    for peace

                February 10, 2017

                R. God first loved us –

It is our response to God's love –

This implies something went before –

John 3: 16

For this is how God loved the world:
he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
    may not perish
but may have eternal life.

                R. We have devotion to the Heart of Jesus.

Jesus' Heart is a symbol of His love for us.

God calls for our love in return –

Matthew 22: 34-40

But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees they got together and, to disconcert him, one of them put a question, 36 'Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?' Jesus said to him, 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole Law, and the Prophets too.'

                R. Connection between the 3 loves.

                    (1) Genesis 1: 26-27

Genesis 1: 26-27

God said, ‘Let us make man in our own image, in the likeness of ourselves, and let them be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven, the cattle, all the wild animals and all the creatures that creep along the ground.’

God created man in the image of himself,
in the image of God he created him,
male and female he created them.

                    (2) 1 John 4: 19-21

1 John 4: 19-21

Let us love, then,
because he first loved us.
Anyone who says ‘I love God’
and hates his brother,
is a liar,
since whoever does not love the brother
    whom he can see
cannot love God whom he has not seen.
Indeed this is the commandment
    we have received from him,
that whoever loves God,
    must also love his brother.

                R. We are made in the image and
                    likeness of God –

When we hate our neighbor we are
                    hating God –

What we do to others we do to Jesus –

We are called to love our neighbor –
                    - our neighbor was created in the
image and likeness of God –
                    - our neighbor was created by God –

God gives us an elevated share in
His loving activity in baptism –
We can love on a supernatural level –

The more we share in this
                    supernatural way of loving
God and others – the more
we are united to God –

We must see the person at
                    their CORE level
                    as created by God.

                (1) We are to respond to God's love if
                    we call ourselves Christians –
                    being a Christian is response
                    to God's love –

                (2) PARTICIPATION in God's life

2 Peter 1: 3-7

The generosity of God

By his divine power, he has lavished on us all the things we need for life and for true devotion, through the knowledge of him who has called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these, the greatest and priceless promises have been lavished on us, that through them you should share the divine nature and escape the corruption rife in the world through disordered passion. With this in view, do your utmost to support your faith with goodness, goodness with understanding, understanding with self–control, self–control with perseverance, perseverance with devotion, devotion with kindness to the brothers, and kindness to the brothers with love.

                R. (3) The Christian life as elevation
                    of human nature.

1 Corinthians 10: 31

Whatever you eat, then, or drink, and whatever else you do, do it all for the glory of God.

                    R. There is the new life we receive
                        in baptism –

                    We have an elevated human
                        nature –

A new life in Jesus from baptism –

Everything is effected in this life –

                    Knowing and loving capacity is
                        elevated in baptism.

                (4) Christian life considered
                    as the Christ life –

Romans 6: 1-11

Baptism

What should we say then? Should we remain in sin so that grace may be given the more fully? Out of the question! We have died to sin; how could we go on living in it? You cannot have forgotten that all of us, when we were baptised into Christ Jesus, were baptised into his death. So by our baptism into his death we were buried with him, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the Father’s glorious power, we too should begin living a new life. If we have been joined to him by dying a death like his, so we shall be by a resurrection like his; realising that our former self was crucified with him, so that the self which belonged to sin should be destroyed and we should be freed from the slavery of sin. Someone who has died, of course, no longer has to answer for sin. But we believe that, if we died with Christ, then we shall live with him too. We know that Christ has been raised from the dead and will never die again. Death has no power over him any more. For by dying, he is dead to sin once and for all, and now the life that he lives is life with God. In the same way, you must see yourselves as being dead to sin but alive for God in Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 4: 7-11

The hardships and hopes of the apostolate

But we hold this treasure in pots of earthenware, so that the immensity of the power is God’s and not our own. We are subjected to every kind of hardship, but never distressed; we see no way out but we never despair; we are pursued but never cut off; knocked down, but still have some life in us; always we carry with us in our body the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus, too, may be visible in our body. Indeed, while we are still alive, we are continually being handed over to death, for the sake of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus, too, may be visible in our mortal flesh.

                    R. Christ is a Divine Person
                        with 2 Natures –
                        a human nature and
                        a Divine nature

Our nature is how we operate  –
                    by our nature –
                    a dog has a dog nature –
                    a fish has a fish nature –
we have a human nature –

                God elevates our human nature
                    in baptism to share in
                    His Divine life and
                    He opens up the supernatural
                    world to us and
                    He elevates our knowing and
                        loving capacity –

Everything we do should be an
                    expression of our Christ-life

                Everything we do must be
                    according to God's will –

                Everything we do must be
                    centered in love.

                Life has a Christic structure
                    or pattern –

If we take a fish out of
                    the water it dies –

If we are put in water we can drown –

                We must respect nature –
                    God puts the operating
                        principle in the nature

                God made us social –
there is a healthy way to relate
                        to others.

God put a fear of danger in us –
                    but fear can become morbid
                    and dysfunctional –

We must respect our nature –
                    men cannot fly –
                    birds do fly –

Divine life gives us new powers
                    of activities

                God gives us the supernatural
virtues – faith, hope and love
and puts His handprint on us
                    in baptism –

                Only through Faith –
                    through the elevated intellect
                    can I believe in the
                    Trinity – other Divine Mysteries.

Life of Baptism has a Christic structure,
it can only develop in HIM.

                CHRISTIC SELF

                    a) personal relationship with Jesus,
                        bridegroom of our soul

Galatians 2: 19-21

In fact, through the Law I am dead to the Law so that I can be alive to God. I have been crucified with Christ and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me. The life that I am now living, subject to the limitation of human nature, I am living in faith, faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. I am not setting aside God’s grace as of no value; it is merely that if saving justice comes through the Law, Christ died needlessly.

                    b) From the Priestly Newsletter

    Cardinal Newman said

"... everyone who breathes, high and low,
educated and ignorant, young and old, man and woman,
has a mission, has a work. We are not sent
into this world for nothing; we are not born at
                    random. . . God sees every one of us;
He creates every soul, He lodges it in
a body, one by one, for a purpose. He needs,
He deigns to need, every one of us.
He has an end for each of us... we are
placed in our different ranks and stations, not to
get what we can out of them for ourselves, but to
labor in them for Him, as He rejoiced to do His work,
we must rejoice in ours also.
"

(Discourses addressed to mixed congregations)

                R. God knows us intimately more
                    than we know ourselves –

Jesus died for us and give
                    Himself for us.

We have a unique way of loving Jesus –
no one can love Him like we can.

Jesus loves us more than we love
                    ourselves –
If I realized this and how
                    He wants redemption for
us – we would be happy!

If I think my self image depends
                    on what others think of
me then I am not happy!

If I don't do what God wants
me to do in my vocation
to build the Kingdom of God
then the world suffers for my
                    selfishness – its my unique
                    job Jesus gives me –
to do it for Him –

He loves us so much and
                    to do it in love!!

                Becoming

We are in the process of becoming
                    more Christic.

All life is meant to develop to its
                    greatest Christian potential.

                Spiritual Exercise!

We are to develop our Christian
                    existence!

We are to develop the Christian
life to its fullest stages –

                (5) The Christian Life Considered
as life in the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 2: 6-16

But still, to those who have reached maturity, we do talk of a wisdom, not, it is true, a philosophy of this age or of the rulers of this age, who will not last long now. It is of the mysterious wisdom of God that we talk, the wisdom that was hidden, which God predestined to be for our glory before the ages began. None of the rulers of the age recognised it; for if they had recognised it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory; but it is as scripture says: What no eye has seen and no ear has heard, what the mind of man cannot visualise; all that God has prepared for those who love him; to us, though, God has given revelation through the Spirit, for the Spirit explores the depths of everything, even the depths of God. After all, is there anyone who knows the qualities of anyone except his own spirit, within him; and in the same way, nobody knows the qualities of God except the Spirit of God. Now, the Spirit we have received is not the spirit of the world but God’s own Spirit, so that we may understand the lavish gifts God has given us. And these are what we speak of, not in the terms learnt from human philosophy, but in terms learnt from the Spirit, fitting spiritual language to spiritual things. The natural person has no room for the gifts of God’s Spirit; to him they are folly; he cannot recognise them, because their value can be assessed only in the Spirit. The spiritual person, on the other hand, can assess the value of everything, and that person’s value cannot be assessed by anybody else. For: who has ever known the mind of the Lord? Who has ever been his adviser? But we are those who have the mind of Christ.

                R. The spirit within allows
                    us to know ourselves –

God is the one who perfectly
                    understands God –

                God is teaching us to
                    understand a God-like existence.

Jesus leads us to the Father in the Holy Spirit.

Definition of Love by Fr. Carter

Love is the gift of self to
                        others to promote the
                        good of the other or
                        others –

So we should live to give love –

                    There are many failed
                        marriages because
                        people selfishly married
not to give love at all,
but get love for themselves only.

Is the world teaching us the
                    true meaning of love as
God wants us to love –
                    respect, kindness, giving,
                    sacrifice.

                Can we love someone without
                    liking what they do?

It is necessary to love to see
                    oneself divinely created
                    by God and then if
                    we love ourselves as
                    God wants us to we
                    will love others!

We must care for ourselves –
                    God loves us –

A person is to learn to accept
                    love and give love –
                    Accepting love from those
                    who genuinely love us
                    helps deepen relationships,
                    develop trust with
                    that person and God.
                    God puts people in our
lives to help us grow in
                    love of Him and others.

We must learn to trust those
God intends us to trust –

Loving another means we die to
                    selfish, self-centered ways
                    and become more one –
                    harmonious with those
God wants us to love to
                    grow in genuine love.

Love in our family of origin
                    may have been dysfunctional,
                    a roller coaster, love-hate
                    relationships –
                    untrustworthiness, jealousy,
                    pride, envy etc. –

We were put here, by God, to grow
                    in love.

The Blue Books and Daily Messages help
us to grow in love of
                    God, others and self.

                There is serious lack of
                    love in today's world
                    in many people's
                    hearts. Lack of
                    concern for others –

                Read the Sermon on the
                    Mount Chapters 5, 6, 7
                    of Matthew.

                We must renounce whatever
                    gets in our way of
                    loving Jesus.

                Nobody ever suffered more
                    than Jesus.

                Jesus died for our sins.

                The Father allowed Jesus
                    to die for our sins.

Matthew 11: 28-30

‘Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest. Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light.’

Matthew 12: 46-50

He was still speaking to the crowds when suddenly his mother and his brothers were standing outside and were anxious to have a word with him. But to the man who told him this Jesus replied, 'Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?' And stretching out his hand towards his disciples he said, 'Here are my mother and my brothers. Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.'

                R. We are members of God's family.

Guiding Light - Reflect on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year (2011/2012)
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B     The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $15

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A    The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B    At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C    In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15

Guiding Light - The Word Alive in Our Hearts
Inspiring Homilies by Fr. Joe Robinson

Audio CD - Read by Father Edward J. Carter
$ 10.00

Priestly Newsletter — 2000 #1 — CD.Christ is Our Strength — Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our—selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10
