R. We see order, beauty when we look
at everything through God's eyes —
R. We can look at things through satan's eyes —
through eyes of rebellion to God's
will — not in God's order —
Blocking God's will for us and others —
serving satan - not God —
How is your vision?
Are you furthering God's plan — making
God's order of love — obedience
or do you do it satan's way —
unloving
disorder — against God's plan —
Beauty is as beauty does —
It is the challenge God puts before
us with our wounded human
nature —
We are to prove we are loving —
like Jesus — not like satan —
hurting others, being selfish,
caved in — hurting others and
denying it and not being
reconciled — never saying we
are sorry —
Satan wants us to —
never say we are sorry —
God created an orderly, harmonious
world
When one has sinned —
the devil wants the person
to deny the sin — the devil
does not want to stop using
a scam he is using to cause
disorder in a place
Mary is the perfect handmaid
of the Lord, she perfectly
did God's will —
Satan is the father of lies —
He wants to try to make
right look wrong and wrong look
right — He wants disorder —
He wants anger — He wants
chaos —
Satan is the father of lies —
There is no love in satan — satan
works to try to destroy friendship and love —
Satan tempts the person —
Satan pressed on the person
to give into the deadly
sins —
Satan wants anger to be
a habit — a vice —
jealousy to be the
way a person acts
because it is a vice —
Like virtue is the way one
acts — lovingly,
in faith, in hope
The devil wants people to
lie and deceive instead of
being like Jesus —
they follow what satan
wants the father of lies —
The devil tempts people to be
jealous — they can be so
jealous they can 'take
a house out' rather than
let go of jealousy — it
is an emotion inside
they act on —
They can see with jealous eyes
as if they were blinded —
They do not recognize this
as disorder — their hearts are
not loving, but wanting to
stop the person who has
made them jealous — so they
can tear apart families,
institutions — anything they
are moved to act on because
of this jealous energy —
This is not like Jesus who
is love
Adam and Eve were not supposed
to eat the forbidden
fruit and they disobeyed
God —
They then blamed each
other — the snake for
what they had done —
Today's Readings
Joel 2: 12-18
'But now — declares Yahweh —
come back to me with all your heart,
fasting, weeping, mourning.'
Tear your hearts and not your clothes,
and come back to Yahweh your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger, rich in faithful love,
and he relents about inflicting disaster.
Who knows if he will not come back,
relent
and leave a blessing behind him,
a cereal offering and a libation
to be presented to Yahweh your God?Blow the ram's-horn in Zion!
Order a fast,
proclaim a solemn assembly,
call the people together,
summon the community,
assemble the elders,
gather the children,
even infants at the breast!
Call the bridegroom from his bedroom
and the bride from her bower!
Let the priests, the ministers of Yahweh,
stand weeping between portico and altar,
saying, 'Spare your people, Yahweh!
Do not expose your heritage
to the contempt,
to the sarcasm of the nations!
Why give the peoples cause to say,
"Where is their God?" 'Then, becoming jealous over his country,
Yahweh took pity on his people.

A prayer of contrition
For I am well aware of my offences,
my sin is constantly in mind.
Against you, you alone, I have sinned,
I have done what you see to be wrong,
that you may show your saving justice
when you pass sentence,
and your victory may appear when you give judgement,
remember, I was born guilty,
a sinner from the moment of conception.
But you delight in sincerity of heart,
and in secret you teach me wisdom.
Give me back the joy of your salvation,
sustain in me a generous spirit.
I shall teach the wicked your paths,
and sinners will return to you.
Deliver me from bloodshed, God, God of
my salvation,
and my tongue will acclaim your saving justice.
Sacrifice to God is a broken spirit,
a broken, contrite heart you never scorn.
So we are ambassadors for Christ; it is as though God were urging you through us, and in the name of Christ we appeal to you to be reconciled to God. For our sake he made the sinless one a victim for sin, so that in him we might become the uprightness of God.
As his fellow-workers, we urge you not to let your acceptance of his grace come to nothing. As he said, 'At the time of my favour I have answered you; on the day of salvation I have helped you'; well, now is the real time of favour, now the day of salvation is here.
Matthew 6: 1-6, 16-18
'Be careful not to parade your uprightness in public to attract attention; otherwise you will lose all reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give alms, do not have it trumpeted before you; this is what the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets to win human admiration. In truth I tell you, they have had their reward. But when you give alms, your left hand must not know what your right is doing; your almsgiving must be secret, and your Father who sees all that is done in secret will reward you. 'And when you pray, do not imitate the hypocrites: they love to say their prayers standing up in the synagogues and at the street corners for people to see them. In truth I tell you, they have had their reward. But when you pray, go to your private room, shut yourself in, and so pray to your Father who is in that secret place, and your Father who sees all that is done in secret will reward you.
'When you are fasting, do not put on a gloomy look as the hypocrites do: they go about looking unsightly to let people know they are fasting. In truth I tell you, they have had their reward. But when you fast, put scent on your head and wash your face, so that no one will know you are fasting except your Father who sees all that is done in secret; and your Father who sees all that is done in secret will reward you.

So then person can see others as disconnected —
they have no personal love for them —
they stay at a distance — enemies —
Not — we pray in love together
to show Jesus we

Jesus came a baby in the
womb of a human
creature —

Jesus died for us
Jesus was beaten for those
He loved who beat
Him —
People aren't one because
they don't want
to be one — united
They can keep their distance —
Jesus came and He was whipped
spit on out of love,
He remained in love, in presence as
they whipped Him at the pillar —
If we don't talk,
If we don't touch,
If we don't feel —
We have a dysfunctional family —
Somebody that wants relationship
doesn't pull pranks
on their friends to see
if they can hurt and
do it again and again —
They don't distance themselves
to stay far off — so
they don't get
involved —
Healing is loving God and others —
being as God wants —
