                Given July 28, 2011 - Evening

                R. Do what God says and we will be blessed —

God created the seen and the unseen from
                    nothing

We think we must do things like men,
God wants us to rely on His Might —
God does things His way —
God can make the sun to shine —
                    God can make lightening —
                    God knows everything —

The Spirit of God can come upon a
man and they can see and respond
                    as they should because they
see clearly how they are to act —

God tells us to wait on Him —
To do it in Him timing —

He gave people babies who were
                    thought barren

David had might — he had strength from God —

God can fight the fight for us —

We can disobey God because of fear and
then we show our lack of
                    trust in His Might —
We show how we just want it
                    done on our schedule, our
                    way —

                Obedience is paramount when dealing
                    with God —

We can always be focused on ourselves —
Will I get a "that away boy, if
                    I do it"

Why aren't we focused on doing God's
                    will for His purpose __

Man wants to rationalize things —
say its for the best to oneself —
then do it our way — not God's way —

The prophet is shocked because he
knows he is dealing with God —

Luke 10: 38-42

In the course of their journey he came to a village, and a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. She had a sister called Mary, who sat down at the Lord's feet and listened to him speaking. Now Martha, who was distracted with all the serving, came to him and said, 'Lord, do you not care that my sister is leaving me to do the serving all by myself? Please tell her to help me.' But the Lord answered, 'Martha, Martha,' he said, 'you worry and fret about so many things, and yet few are needed, indeed only one. It is Mary who has chosen the better part, and it is not to be taken from her.'

                R. The man who is disobedient, changes
the plan, God gives him —
                    rejects the plan, rebels and
                    gives excuses for his disobedience

God doesn't want good ideas and
                    burnt offerings —
                    God wants obedience —

God can give us so much and we
take the job and throw it away —
Let the power go to our head and
try to raise above God's plan for
                    our convenience —

David was chosen because Saul couldn't
wait — he disobeyed and offered
                    sacrifices as he rationalized his
                    disobedience

                Saul disobeyed and rationalized what
                    he did when he disobeyed
                    to tell himself what was
                    wrong was right —

David was small, and young —
                God sees the heart —

Man sees the outward appearance —
                God knows a man's heart

Jesus showed us that God the Father
                    wants obedience —

Jesus obeyed the Father's will to His
                    death on the cross —

Would we think the Messiah would
have been born in such poverty?

Would we think that God the Father
would have left His Son suffer
                    as He did?

We do not know the mind of God —
We see with limited vision —

Some spend their lives arguing to
be right when they have been wrong —

What is important is doing God's will —
admitting when we were wrong so
we can seek His Plan and not
our pride to prove we are
                    right —

The more we do our own will for our
pride we see with blinded eyes —

We open a door to satan when
                    we lie

We open a door to satan when we
                    move ahead because of
                    impatience —

What is God's will — always — seek it
                    with all our heart —

Do God's will with love — Like
Seeking the pearl of great price —

Psalm 23

Yahweh is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
In grassy meadows he lets me lie.

By tranquil streams he leads me
    to restore my spirit.
He guides me in paths of saving justice
    as befits his name.

Even were I to walk in a ravine as dark as death
I should fear no danger, for you are at my side.
Your staff and your crook are there to soothe me.

You prepare a table for me
    under the eyes of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
    my cup brims over.

Kindness and faithful love pursue me
    every day of my life.
I make my home in the house of Yahweh
    for all time to come.

                R. David was obedient to God
                    He was blessed —

                Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Noah,
Moses were obedient to God —

                God blesses those who obey
Him and keep His ways —

                We see all through salvation
                    history the struggle with
                    the false gods —

                The Israelites worshipped the
                    one true God —

They laughed at David and His
                    strength came from God —

                David slew the Philistine —

David was not afraid — He relied
                    on the Lord —

                The Philistine laughed at
                    the boy David —

David fought for the Lord —
                David knew his strength
                    was the Lord's

                David was blessed —

Psalm 47

Clap your hands, all peoples,
acclaim God with shouts of joy.

For Yahweh, the Most High, is glorious,
the great king over all the earth.
He brings peoples under our yoke
and nations under our feet.

He chooses for us our birthright,
the pride of Jacob whom he loves.

God goes up to shouts of acclaim,
Yahweh to a fanfare on the ram’s horn.

Let the music sound for our God, let it sound,
let the music sound for our king, let it sound.

For he is king of the whole world;
learn the music, let it sound for God!
God reigns over the nations,
seated on his holy throne.

The leaders of the nations rally
to the people of the God of Abraham.
The shields of the earth belong to God,
who is exalted on high.

                R. Saul was jealous of David —

                David was confident

When we want to promote the Kingdom
of God — we rejoice at those
                    doing God's will —

The vain man is jealous because
he is focused on himself —
                    his performance, he is
                    envious of the man doing
God's will and having victories —

God wants fruit for the vine —

There are men who betray others
or betray husband, wife, friend, God —

They are not true to their word —
they can not be trusted —

The Sacred Heart of Jesus is trustworthy

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus we place our
                    trust in Thee —

One man can deceive another and
when one tries to stop that — the
evil person can use justice and good
principles to defend evil acts —

This is using good to defend evil —
how sick is that — a paradox —

A person who is rebelling against
God can fight and lie if they
think their evil could be stopped
or brought to the light —

A person who becomes evil can feel threatened
                    by people doing good —
for evil and good, work against one another —

If a man is doing evil, he will most assuredly
try to knock out those doing
good for their lives can feel as threats to
their goal of doing evil —

                A person doing good — doesn't want
to get in a confrontation with
                    the one doing evil —

God can raise His hand against
                    the evil man —

                David was faithful to Saul

                Saul hunted David and wanted
                    him killed —

                David was attracted to Bathsheba

                David committed
                    adultery —

                David put Uriah (Bathsheba's husband)
in the heat of the battle

                Uriah was killed

                Bathsheba then was carrying
                    David's child —

                Nathan confronted
                    David because
                    he sinned —

David was punished by the Lord —

2 Samuel 12: 1-6

Yahweh sent the prophet Nathan to David. He came to him and said:

In the same town were two men,
one rich, the other poor.
The rich man had flocks and herds
in great abundance;
the poor man had nothing but a ewe lamb,
only a single little one
    which he had bought.
He fostered it and it grew up with him
    and his children,
eating his bread, drinking from his cup,
sleeping in his arms;
it was like a daughter to him.
When a traveller came to stay,
    the rich man
would not take anything
from his own flock or herd
to provide for the wayfarer
    who had come to him.
Instead, he stole the poor man's lamb
and prepared that for his guest.

David flew into a great rage with the man. 'As Yahweh lives,' he said to Nathan 'the man who did this deserves to die. For doing such a thing and for having shown no pity, he shall make fourfold restitution for the lamb.'

                R. David and Bathsheba's
                    son died —

                David was given
                    so many gifts
                    and he sinned —

2 Samuel 12: 7-10, 13

Nathan then said to David, 'You are the man! Yahweh, God of Israel, says this, "I anointed you king of Israel, I saved you from Saul's clutches, I gave you your master's household and your master's wives into your arms, I gave you the House of Israel and the House of Judah; and, if this is still too little, I shall give you other things as well. Why did you show contempt for Yahweh, by doing what displeases him? You put Uriah the Hittite to the sword, you took his wife to be your wife, causing his death by the sword of the Ammonites. For this, your household will never be free of the sword, since you showed contempt for me and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite, to make her your wife."

David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against Yahweh." Nathan then said to David, "Yahweh, for his part, forgives your sin; you are not to die.

1 Samuel 16: 1, 6-7, 10-13

Yahweh said to Samuel, ‘How much longer do you mean to go on mourning over Saul, now that I myself have rejected him as ruler of Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go. I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem, for I have found myself a king from among his sons.

When they arrived, he looked at Eliab and thought, ‘This must be Yahweh’s anointed now before him, but Yahweh said to Samuel, ‘Take no notice of his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him; God does not see as human beings see; they look at appearances but Yahweh looks at the heart.

Jesse thus presented seven of his sons to Samuel, but Samuel said to Jesse, ‘Yahweh has not chosen these. He then asked Jesse, ‘Are these all the sons you have?’ Jesse replied, ‘There is still one left, the youngest; he is looking after the sheep.’ Samuel then said to Jesse, ‘Send for him, for we shall not sit down to eat until he arrives. Jesse had him sent for; he had ruddy cheeks, with fine eyes and an attractive appearance. Yahweh said, ‘Get up and anoint him: he is the one! At this, Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him, surrounded by his brothers; and the spirit of Yahweh seized on David from that day onwards. Samuel, for his part, set off and went to Ramah.

4th Sunday of Lent - March 2, 2008

INTRODUCTION – (1 Samuel 16: 1b,6-7,10-13a, Ephesians 5: 8-14, John 9: 1-41) Sight is a wonderful gift, but what we see with our mind and heart is even of greater value. God helps us to see clearly. We have examples of that inner vision in all of today’s readings. Our first reading takes us back 1000 years before Christ when the prophet Samuel had to choose a king from among the sons of Jesse of Bethlehem. They all had the dignity and physical characteristics of potentially good leaders, but God knew who would make the best king. Paul tells us we have been enlightened by Christ and in the gospel we hear how a man born blind not only had his eyes opened by Christ but his heart, whereas those who claimed to be able to see were blinded by arrogance.

Christ the King - November 25, 2007

INTRODUCTION: When the first king of Israel, King Saul, was killed in battle, the southern part of Israel chose David as their king. The northern part chose Ishbaal, King Saul’s son, to be their king. Ishbaal was inept and after seven years of chaos, the northern tribes turned to David and asked him to rule them also. This is where our first reading comes in. David was a successful leader and, in spite of some serious misbehavior, was viewed throughout Jewish history as an ideal king. The Jews always hoped for another king like him. When a king assumed his office, he was anointed and thus the ideal king the Jews longed for was often referred to as “the anointed one.” The Hebrew word for this is “Mashiah,” or as we say it: “Messiah.” When Mashiah is translated into Greek we have “Χριστός.” So when we call Jesus “Christ” we are in effect saying Jesus, the King. Christ’s kingdom is not an earthly one, as St. Paul tells us, but it is eternal and a sharing in God’s own authority and power.

2 Samuel 5: 1-3

All the tribes of Israel then came to David at Hebron and said, 'Look, we are your own flesh and bone. In days past when Saul was our king, it was you who led Israel on its campaigns, and to you it was that Yahweh promised, "You are to shepherd my people Israel and be leader of Israel." ' So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David made a pact with them in Yahweh's presence at Hebron, and they anointed David as king of Israel.

4th Sunday of Advent - December 18, 2005

INTRODUCTION: (2 Samuel 7,1-5, 8b-12, 14a,16; Luke 1,26-38) Our first reading goes back 1000 years before Christ to the time of king David in Jerusalem. You need to recall that when Moses led the people of Israel out of Egypt, almost 300 years before King David, God gave the people a special sign of his presence among them. That sign was the Arc of the Covenant. It looked something like this: a box in which were placed the 10 Commandments, a lid of gold and on the lid were two angels. The box was carried by two long poles because no one could touch the Arc. The two angels provided a throne for their invisible God, Yahweh. As Moses and the people moved through the desert and eventually into the promised land, the Arc was kept in a tent. Only designated people, and eventually only the high priest, could enter the tent and offer sacrifice to God. The Arc was still kept in a tent during the reign of King David. David had built himself a nice comfortable palace and he decided it was not right that the Arc, the special sign of God’s presence with his people, was still kept in a tent. So he told his prophet, Nathan, that he would build a temple, a house for God. Nathan said “good idea,” but God said “no.” God said David had shed too much blood in his role as king, so he would have David’s son, Solomon, build the temple after David died. But God was pleased with David’s idea and blessed him. One of the special blessings David received was that David’s line would never die out. One of his descendants would always be king over God’s people. That’s what is meant by the statement that God would “establish a house” for David. For about 400 years this proved to be true. Always the king of Judea was of the royal house of David. When the Babylonians conquered the Jews, that was the end of the kingship. But the Jews never forgot the promise God made to David and always waited for one who would come from David’s family who would rescue God's people from their enemies and restore the kingdom to Israel. Since kings were anointed when they assumed power, the king they looked for was called the anointed one – the Hebrew word for “anointed one” is Messiah, in Greek the word is Christos. In the gospel of the annunciation, the angel Gabriel informs Mary that her son would be the fulfillment of these hopes. “The Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

2 Samuel 7: 1-5, 8-12, 14, 16

Once the king had settled into his palace and Yahweh had granted him rest from all the enemies surrounding him, the king said to the prophet Nathan, 'Look, I am living in a cedar' wood palace, while the ark of God is under awnings." Nathan said to the king, 'Go and do whatever you have in mind, for Yahweh is with you.' But that very night, the word of Yahweh came to Nathan: 'Go and tell my servant David, "Yahweh says this: Are you to build me a temple for me to live in?

"Yahweh Sabaoth says this: I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be leader of my people Israel; I have been with you wherever you went; I have got rid of all your enemies for you. I am going to make your fame as great as the fame of the greatest on earth. I am going to provide a place for my people Israel; I shall plant them there, and there they will live and never be disturbed again; nor will they be oppressed by the wicked any more, as they were in former times ever since the time when I instituted judges to govern my people Israel; and I shall grant you rest from all your enemies. Yahweh furthermore tells you that he will make you a dynasty. And when your days are over and you fall asleep with your ancestors, I shall appoint your heir, your own son to succeed you (and I shall make his sovereignty secure.

I shall be a father to him and he a son to me; if he does wrong, I shall punish him with a rod such as men use, with blows such as mankind gives.

Your dynasty and your sovereignty will ever stand firm before me and your throne be for ever secure." '

1 Kings 3: 5, 7-12

At Gibeon Yahweh appeared to Solomon in a dream during the night. God said, 'Ask what you would like me to give you.'

Now, Yahweh my God, you have made your servant king in succession to David my father. But I am a very young man, unskilled in leadership. And here is your servant, surrounded with your people whom you have chosen, a people so numerous that its number cannot be counted or reckoned. So give your servant a heart to understand how to govern your people, how to discern between good and evil, for how could one otherwise govern such a great people as yours?' It pleased Yahweh that Solomon should have asked for this. 'Since you have asked for this,' God said, 'and not asked for long life for yourself or riches or the lives of your enemies but have asked for a discerning judgement for yourself, here and now I do what you ask. I give you a heart wise and shrewd as no one has had before and no one will have after you.

17th Sunday in Ordinary Time - July 27, 2008

INTRODUCTION – (1 Kings 3: 5,7-12, Romans 8: 28-30, Matthew 13: 44-52) King David died about 970 years before Christ. His son, Solomon, succeeded him as king of Israel. Today’s first reading is Solomon’s prayer as he begins his reign. He prayed for an understanding heart that he would reign well. Of all the gifts he could have asked for, he valued wisdom more than anything else. God’s commands guide us to wisdom, so in the psalm refrain we praise God for this gift.

                R. When Our Lord told me to do these
days of reparation He told me to
pray and not to do work on these
                days —

Leviticus 23: 1, 4-11, 15-16, 27, 34b-37

Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:

"These are Yahweh's solemn festivals, the sacred assemblies to which you will summon the Israelites on the appointed day:

"The fourteenth day of the first month, at twilight, is the Passover of Yahweh; and the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of Unleavened Bread for Yahweh. For seven days you will eat unleavened bread. On the first day you will hold a sacred assembly; you will do no heavy work. For seven days you will offer food burnt for Yahweh. On the seventh day there will be a sacred assembly; you will do no heavy work." '

Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
'Speak to the Israelites and say:

"When you enter the country which I am giving you and reap the harvest there, you will bring the priest the first sheaf of your harvest, and he will present it to Yahweh with the gesture of offering, for you to be acceptable. The priest will make this offering on the day after the Sabbath,

"From the day after the Sabbath, the day on which you bring the sheaf of offering, you will count seven full weeks. You will count fifty days, to the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then you will offer Yahweh a new cereal offering.

'But the tenth day of this seventh month will be the Day of Expiation. You will hold a sacred assembly. You will fast and offer food burnt for Yahweh.

'Speak to the Israelites and say:
"On the fifteenth day of this seventh month there will be the feast of Shelters for Yahweh, lasting for seven days. The first day will be a day of sacred assembly; you will do no heavy work. For seven days you will offer food burnt for Yahweh. On the eighth day you will hold a sacred assembly and you will offer food burnt for Yahweh. It is a day of solemn meeting; you will do no heavy work.

"These are Yahweh's solemn festivals to which you will summon the Israelites, the sacred assemblies for the purpose of offering food burnt for Yahweh, consisting of burnt offerings, cereal offerings, sacrifices and libations, each on its appropriate day,

                R. A real disciple is a servant — in this
Gospel Matthew 20: 20-28 — we see James'
mother asks that John and James
be placed in a certain place —

Matthew 20: 20-28

The mother of Zebedee's sons
makes her request

Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came with her sons to make a request of him, and bowed low; and he said to her, 'What is it you want?' She said to him, 'Promise that these two sons of mine may sit one at your right hand and the other at your left in your kingdom.' Jesus answered, 'You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink the cup that I am going to drink?' They replied, 'We can.' He said to them, 'Very well; you shall drink my cup, but as for seats at my right hand and my left, these are not mine to grant; they belong to those to whom they have been allotted by my Father.'

Leadership with service

When the other ten heard this they were indignant with the two brothers. But Jesus called them to him and said, 'You know that among the gentiles the rulers lord it over them, and great men make their authority felt. Among you this is not to happen. No; anyone who wants to become great among you must be your servant, and anyone who wants to be first among you must be your slave, just as the Son of man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.'

                R. Knowing our place is important
                    in life —

If nobody wants anyone telling them
what to do, there is utter disorder —

                Power comes from God —

We see the structure in how God
                    created things i.e.
                    man
                    animal
                    plant
                    etc.

One of my favorite readings is

1 Corinthians 15: 20-28

In fact, however, Christ has been raised from the dead, as the first-fruits of all who have fallen asleep. As it was by one man that death came, so through one man has come the resurrection of the dead. Just as all die in Adam, so in Christ all will be brought to life; but all of them in their proper order: Christ the first-fruits, and next, at his coming, those who belong to him. After that will come the end, when he will hand over the kingdom to God the Father, having abolished every principality, every ruling force and power. For he is to be king until he has made his enemies his footstool, and the last of the enemies to be done away with is death, for he has put all things under his feet. But when it is said everything is subjected, this obviously cannot include the One who subjected everything to him. When everything has been subjected to him, then the Son himself will be subjected to the One who has subjected everything to him, so that God may be all in all.

                R. This tells us that we are to be under
                    His feet!!

                Learning our place is important
                    in the spiritual life —

                The first commandment tells us
God must be first in our
                    life —

Jesus asked for these days of reparation
                    4 in Florida
                    4 in China —

He told me work and meetings were not
                    to be conducted, especially on
                    the 5ths and 13ths —

He made rules — like God gave
them this rule all these years
ago in the 1st reading —

When Jesus told me to have meetings on
the 17th of each month beginning
                    February 17, 1994 —  The 17th Meetings
every month people would argue with me —

Finally on December 17, 1996 — Mary appeared
as Our Lady of Clearwater on the Building —

Jesus gave me a message when they argued —
                    "I called you on the 17th —
if they don't or can't come that is

Mary appeared every day from July 5, 1994
                    to September 5, 1995 —

I still see those apparitions — some very
                    big ones —
I see Mary appear before me in
                        constant memory of this —
Then she appeared Our Lady of

When Mary told me and Jesus told me
to go to the Holy Spirit Center
                        every day at 6:30 —

                    3 times from July 5, 1994 — September 5, 1995
                        I was late —
Mary didn't appear to me those

Our Lady appeared on these 5ths in

                R. Many people have been healed physically
and spiritually after going to Florida
on the 5th or China on the 13th —

Mary and Jesus promised special healing
                    graces, physical and spiritual when
I do the prayer services and
rosaries and when people use the
                    Rosary books

Mary asked in 1994 and 1995 to spread the
                    school rosary program to the
                    children —

Then I got this message August 27, 1996
Feast of St. Monica and later
Mary said she wanted this message
                    played constantly at the Florida
                    Clearwater site —

We need to consecrate our hearts and our
homes to the Sacred Heart and
                    Immaculate Heart

Mary's Message
from the Rosary of August 27, 1996

Mary:  I stood beneath the cross of my Son, and my Heart was in such pain for I saw Him before my eyes. I saw Him covered with blood. I saw Him die. My Heart, my children, my Heart to watch my Son, but my Heart, my Heart, how I suffered for my little children of the world that give in to this world and give up the love of my Son. O my little children of light, I give you this message. Carry this light into the darkness for your Mother Mary, for I stood beneath the cross and I cried. I cried for the little ones. I cried for the young ones, the ones that do not care and will lose their souls. How do I make you see for you will not listen to me? What can I do? I come. I appear. I beg. I plead. I give you these gifts from my Son, and you reject me. I do not deliver messages very often anymore for I have been ignored. The message is the same. You do not read the messages I have given to you. Please help me. Help the little children. I appear. I appear. I appear, and I am ignored. I stood beneath the cross, and I cried. I cried, and my Heart was in such anguish for my little children, for I am searching for them this day as I searched for the Child Jesus. Please, please help me. I cannot hold back the hand of my Son any longer. I am Mary, your Mother. I ask you to help my children. You are my children of light.

                R. God gave them details we see in the
                    1st reading how special days
                    were to be celebrated

Psalm 81: 3-11

blow the trumpet for the new month,
for the full moon, for our feast day!

For Israel has this statute,
a decision of the God of Jacob,
a decree he imposed on Joseph,
when he went to war against Egypt.

I heard a voice unknown to me,
I freed his shoulder from the burden,
his hands were able to lay aside the labourer's basket.
You cried out in your distress, so I rescued you.

'Hidden in the storm, I answered you,
I tested you at the waters of Meribah.           Pause
Listen, my people, while I give you warning;
Israel, if only you would listen to me!

'You shall have no strange gods,
shall worship no alien god.
I, Yahweh, am your God,
who brought you here from Egypt,
you have only to open your mouth for me to fill it.

'My people would not listen to me,
Israel would have none of me.

1 Peter 1: 25

but the Word of the Lord remains for ever. And this Word is the Good News that has been brought to you.

                R. God told Moses to do what was fair and
                    fear your God

Leviticus 25: 17

So you will not exploit one another, but fear your God, for I am Yahweh your God.

Psalm 67: 2-3, 5, 7-8

Then the earth will acknowledge your ways,
and all nations your power to save.

Let the nations praise you,
God, let all the nations praise you.

Let the nations praise you, God,
let all the nations praise you.

May God continue to bless us,
and be revered by the whole wide world.

                R. The Israelites complain and complain
                    against the Lord

Jesus fed 5,000 from 5 loaves
                    and 2 fish

We see Jesus walked on the water and
Peter did too until he lost faith —

Mariam and Aaron spoke against Moses
and the Lord didn't like it —
Moses was God's chosen one —

Psalm 51: 3-13

For I am well aware of my offences,
my sin is constantly in mind.
Against you, you alone, I have sinned,
I have done what you see to be wrong,

that you may show your saving justice when you pass sentence,
and your victory may appear when you give judgement,
remember, I was born guilty,
a sinner from the moment of conception.

But you delight in sincerity of heart,
and in secret you teach me wisdom.
Purify me with hyssop till I am clean,
wash me till I am whiter than snow.

Let me hear the sound of joy and gladness,
and the bones you have crushed will dance.
Turn away your face from my sins,
and wipe away all my guilt.

God, create in me a clean heart,
renew within me a resolute spirit,
do not thrust me away from your presence,
do not take away from me your spirit of holiness.

Give me back the joy of your salvation,
sustain in me a generous spirit.
I shall teach the wicked your paths,
and sinners will return to you.

                R. Jesus tells us what defiles a man is his
                    inner thoughts —

The Israelites needed to trust in God
                    even though their adversaries were
                    strong —

Faith and constant prayer is rewarded
                    by God —

The Israelites doubted — even Moses
                    and Aaron were weak —

When Peter tells the truth about Jesus
He is recognized by Jesus, but
                    when Peter's distorted thoughts
                    get in there, Jesus reprimands
him for what he thinks of his own —

If we want God's blessing we must
                    keep His commandments —

                Song: A Song from Jesus

                R. We are to follow Christ —

To take up our cross and follow Him —

God made a covenant with His people —

Deuteronomy 6: 4-13

'Listen, Israel: Yahweh our God is the one, the only Yahweh. You must love Yahweh your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength. Let the words I enjoin on you today stay in your heart. Have I not told you: Be strong and stand firm? Be fearless and undaunted, for go where you may, Yahweh your God is with you.' you must fasten them on your hand as a sign and on your forehead as a headband; you must write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

'When Yahweh has brought you into the country which he swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that he would give you, with great and prosperous cities you have not built, with houses full of good things you have not provided, with wells you have not dug, with vineyards and olive trees you have not planted, and then, when you have eaten as much as you want, be careful you do not forget Yahweh who has brought you out of Egypt, out of the place of slave-labour. Yahweh your God is the one you must fear, him alone you must serve, his is the name by which you must swear.

2 Timothy 1: 10

but it has been revealed only by the appearing of our Saviour Christ Jesus. He has abolished death, and he has brought to light immortality and life through the gospel,

                R. Nothing is impossible to God to
the man who has faith —

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Liturgical Year
$ 10.00 plus postage

Guiding Light homily series - Steadfast to the Son - Cycle A — The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Liturgical Year
$ 10.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul - Cycle C — In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Liturgical Year
$ 10.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word - Cycle B — At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15

Guiding Light - The Word Alive in Our Hearts
Inspiring Homilies covering partial year of Cycle A by Fr. Joe Robinson
$ 5.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - The Word Alive in Our Hearts. - Cycle A (partial) Homilies by the Reverend Joe Robinson given at St. Boniface Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a tremendous honor Fr. Joe has allowed us to share these great gifts with you – for greater holiness and knowing more and more about God. $10

Priestly Newsletter - 2000 #1 - CD. - Christ is Our Strength - Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our-selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10

Priestly Newsletter - 2000 #2 - CD. - Suffering: A Source of Life - Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. Fr. Carter knew suffering that year. His voice is so powerful as he read each Newsletter from his heart and soul. "Every man has his own share in the redemption. Each one is also called to share in that suffering through which the redemption was accomplished. He is called to share in that suffering through which all human suffering has also been redeemed. In bringing about the redemption through suffering, Christ has also raised human suffering to the level of the redemption. Thus each man in his suffering can also become a sharer in the redemptive suffering of Christ..." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10
