                R. Fr. Joe said

                Our first reading comes from
                8 1/2 centuries before Christ —
                Elijah was a prophet

                Queen Jezebel was wicked
She tried to lead the people to paganism —

                She worshipped pagan god Baal

                Queen Jezebel was not converted
                    but pledged blood vengeance
                    on Elijah —

Elijah fled to Mt. Sinai to go from
                    her —

                God spoke to Elijah there
Mt. Horeb where Moses got the
                    10 commandments —

God spoke to Elijah in his heart —

We can see God can speak to us in
whispers — not big drama —

19th Sunday in Ordinary Time

 1 Kings 19: 9, 11-13

There he went into a cave and spent the night there. Then the word of Yahweh came to him saying, 'What are you doing here, Elijah?'

Then he was told, 'Go out and stand on the mountain before Yahweh.' For at that moment Yahweh was going by. A mighty hurricane split the mountains and shattered the rocks before Yahweh. But Yahweh was not in the hurricane. And after the hurricane, an earthquake. But Yahweh was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake, fire. But Yahweh was not in the fire. And after the fire, a light murmuring sound. And when Elijah heard this, he covered his face with his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. Then a voice came to him, which said, 'What are you doing here, Elijah?'

Psalm 85: 9-14

His saving help is near for those who fear him,
his glory will dwell in our land.

Faithful Love and Loyalty join together,
 Saving Justice and Peace embrace.
Loyalty will spring up from the earth,
and Justice will lean down from heaven.

Yahweh will himself give prosperity,
and our soil will yield its harvest.
Justice will walk before him,
treading out a path

Romans 9: 1-5

This is the truth and I am speaking in Christ, without pretence, as my conscience testifies for me in the Holy Spirit; there is great sorrow and unremitting agony in my heart: I could pray that I myself might be accursed and cut off from Christ, if this could benefit the brothers who are my own flesh and blood. They are Israelites; it was they who were adopted as children, the glory was theirs and the covenants; to them were given the Law and the worship of God and the promises. To them belong the fathers and out of them, so far as physical descent is concerned, came Christ who is above all, God, blessed for ever. Amen.

Matthew 14: 22-33

Jesus walks on the water and, with him, Peter

And at once he made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead to the other side while he sent the crowds away. After sending the crowds away he went up into the hills by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, while the boat, by now some furlongs from land, was hard pressed by rough waves, for there was a head–wind. In the fourth watch of the night he came towards them, walking on the sea, and when the disciples saw him walking on the sea they were terrified. ‘It is a ghost,’ they said, and cried out in fear. But at once Jesus called out to them, saying, ‘Courage! It’s me! Don’t be afraid.’ It was Peter who answered. ‘Lord,’ he said, ‘if it is you, tell me to come to you across the water.’ Jesus said, ‘Come.’ Then Peter got out of the boat and started walking towards Jesus across the water, but then noticing the wind, he took fright and began to sink. ‘Lord,’ he cried, ‘save me!’ Jesus put out his hand at once and held him. ‘You have so little faith,’ he said, ‘why did you doubt?’ And as they got into the boat the wind dropped. The men in the boat bowed down before him and said, ‘Truly, you are the Son of God.’

19th Sunday in Ordinary Time

August 10, 2008

INTRODUCTION – (1 Kings 19:9a, 11-13a, Romans 9:1-5, Matthew 14:22-33) Our first reading today takes us back roughly 860 years before Christ. The wicked Queen Jezebel was reigning in Israel at that time. The prophet Elijah was living in Israel at that time too. Jezebel was trying to lead God’s people into paganism and Elijah was trying to keep them faithful to God. So there was conflict between them. She decided to have Elijah killed, and to save his life he had to get out of Israel. He fled to Mount Sinai. That was the place where God made a covenant with Israel and where he gave Moses the Ten Commandments four centuries earlier. When God spoke to Moses and the people who were fleeing Egypt, God spoke in thunder and lightening and earthquake. Elijah did not experience God in such powerful natural events but rather heard God in the silence of the desert.

HOMILY – The story of the Jews leaving Egypt and meeting God at Mt. Sinai tells us of a God who controls the forces of nature. They tell us of the fire and earthquake and thunder when God spoke to them on Mt. Sinai. Jesus too shows his power over the forces of nature when he walks on the water. Sometimes God communicates with us in a way that is powerful and unmistakable. It may not be in thunder and earthquake that God speaks to us. He may speak to us through a special healing or some prayer answered that we never thought possible. Those moments are worth treasuring. They are important to hold onto and remember when it seems God is quiet, for one of God’s favorite ways of communicating with us is in silence. Like the prophet Elijah, we often need to discover God in the depth of our own hearts. And when we do find him there, we find him in dozens of other places too, which include the Scriptures and the Sacraments – especially the Eucharist.

In preparing my homily, I came across an interesting reflection on today’s readings written by Fr. Grassi, a priest I met in Chicago a few years ago when I was there for a wedding. He said one of the most familiar nicknames for his city of Chicago is the “windy city.” Most people think this name comes from the sometimes very strong winds that blow into the city from Lake Michigan. But, he said, Chicago was dubbed the “windy city” because of its history of long-winded politicians who would promise citizens everything and give them very little in actuality.

He applied this to the Church. Currently people have deep concerns about the church. There is no doubt there are some serious problems. Many people are self-appointed experts on just about every problem in the Church and every facet of church life. But sometimes all their talking can get in the way of living out the gospel of Jesus.

Perhaps the readings for today are telling us not to be so “windy.” After all Elijah finds God not in the strong wind, but in a tiny whisper. The wind scares the apostles to the point where Peter almost drowns and needs Jesus to save him. Then Jesus calms the winds. Certainly there has to be communication, there has to be instruction and clarification. But there has to be silence too. Fr. Grassi concluded: maybe if we talked less and listened more it would be better for us and for the church. On that note I thought I would follow my own advice today and say: Amen.

                R. Fr. Joe said —
a doctor phoned one of his patients one day —

"I have been trying to get you,
I have bad news and worse news,
The first news: all your tests show you
have 24 hours to live" —

The man says "what news could
                        be worse"

The doctor said, "I have tried to get
                        you since yesterday"

                R. Fr. Joe said in October, 1978
Pope John Paul II came in —
Things were not too good —
There was a cold war threatening world peace.

Priests and nuns were dropping out of
                        their vocation —

So many things were going on which
                        were a concern —

The Holy Father, Pope John Paul II got up and said
                        "Be Not afraid"

Fear can be a good thing when it helps
                        protect us —

Some fear can consume us and it is a
fear that does us no good —

                    We need to pray —

                    In the Gospel last Sunday
Jesus fed 5000 from 5 loaves and 2 fish
                        and after feeding 5000
There was food left over —

St. John fills in a few details

These people decided to make Jesus a King —
It was not the Father's will —
Kings have all these responsibilities —

Jesus knew the will of the Father —

The Father's will for Jesus was
far more than freedom from Roman power —

Jesus did miracles to fit people's needs —

Once Jesus calmed the sea with a storm —
Jesus is Divine — He shows His Divine nature by
                        walking on the waters —

Jesus said: "It is I" which means "I Am" in the Greek —
A name sacred to the Jews —
Jesus walked on the waters —

The Old Testament talks about God walking on
the waters of the earth and
God saying He is the "I Am" —

There are Eucharistic overtones in Jesus feeding
people in a miraculous way —
                        Jesus took the bread
                        He blessed it —
                        He broke it —
He gave it to the people —

Jesus performed miracles — Jesus fed the people
                                                        — Jesus walks on the water
                                                            & He reassures them —
                                                        — Jesus calms fears by letting
                                                            them know His presence —
                                                        — Jesus does this in the Eucharist —
Jesus does this to us —

Jesus says I am with you —

St. Matthew tells us Peter walked on the
                        water —
Jesus shows Peter with His help —
we can do amazing things if
                            Jesus asked Peter to —

Jesus holds us up too —
                        Especially in the Eucharist
Jesus gives us Himself in the Eucharist —
                        Jesus tells us
                            "Be not afraid"

                        end of Fr. Joe homily

Given August 6, 2011 - Feast of the Transfiguration

Matthew 17: 5

He was still speaking when suddenly a bright cloud covered them with shadow, and suddenly from the cloud there came a voice which said, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved; he enjoys my favour. Listen to him.’

Daniel 7: 9-10, 13-14

            While I was watching,
        thrones were set in place
and one most venerable took his seat.
His robe was white as snow,
the hair of his head as pure as wool.
His throne was a blaze of flames,
its wheels were a burning fire.
A stream of fire poured out,
        issuing from his presence.
A thousand thousand waited on him,
        ten thousand times ten thousand
           stood before him.
        The court was in session
        and the books lay open.

I was gazing into the visions of the night,
       when I saw,
coming on the clouds of heaven,
as it were a son of man.
He came to the One most venerable
and was led into his presence.
       On him was conferred rule,
       honour and kingship,
and all peoples, nations and languages
           became his servants.
His rule is an everlasting rule
       which will never pass away,
and his kingship will never come to an end.

Psalm 97: 1-2, 5-6, 9

Yahweh is king! Let earth rejoice,
the many isles be glad!
Cloud, black cloud enfolds him,
saving justice and judgement the foundations of his throne.

The mountains melt like wax,
before the Lord of all the earth.
The heavens proclaim his saving justice,
all nations see his glory.

For you are Yahweh,
Most High over all the earth,
far transcending all gods.

2 Peter 1: 16-19

When we told you about the power and the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, we were not slavishly repeating cleverly invented myths; no, we had seen his majesty with our own eyes. He was honoured and glorified by God the Father, when a voice came to him from the transcendent Glory, This is my Son, the Beloved; he enjoys my favour.  We ourselves heard this voice from heaven, when we were with him on the holy mountain.

So we have confirmation of the words of the prophets; and you will be right to pay attention to it as to a lamp for lighting a way through the dark, until the dawn comes and the morning star rises in your minds.

                R. Peter, James and John are
                    eyewitnesses of the transfiguration

The Father says this is My Son —

Matthew 17: 1-9

Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and his brother John and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There in their presence he was transfigured: his face shone like the sun and his clothes became as dazzling as light. And suddenly Moses and Elijah appeared to them; they were talking with him. Then Peter spoke to Jesus. ‘Lord,’ he said, ‘it is wonderful for us to be here; if you want me to, I will make three shelters here, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.’ He was still speaking when suddenly a bright cloud covered them with shadow, and suddenly from the cloud there came a voice which said, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved; he enjoys my favour. Listen to him.’ When they heard this, the disciples fell on their faces, overcome with fear. But Jesus came up and touched them, saying, ‘Stand up, do not be afraid.’ And when they raised their eyes they saw no one but Jesus.

                R. Mary is Mother of Jesus —

What a gift God gives to the
                    human race that God gives
us Mary conceived without sin —

Mary conceived Jesus through the power
                    of the Holy Spirit —

This shows us the love God has for
the human race — to give us Mary,
Jesus to come to this earth —
It is so awesome to me that the
Divine Almighty God took on flesh —
It makes my heart skip a beat to
even ponder that Jesus, the Son of God,
                    took flesh —
God wanted us to know about
Him — God came to teach us
about Divinity — This tells me
that God intends for us to
                    understand more deeply the
                    mystery of "the Word Incarnate
in the womb of the Virgin Mary"
When we ponder a mystery such
as this, we know God can
                    reveal insight into this hidden
mystery to us — We, through baptism,
                    have this elevated capacity to
know and love — Thus because of
the gift of baptism we can
                    understand insight into these
                    hidden mysteries because of
                    this capacity —

God gives us this insight more
and more deeply as the baptized pray to
Him — The Holy Spirit can fill us and
give us more and more knowledge
about God and the hidden mysteries —
This is reality — God is Divine,
but He gives us the capacity
                through baptism to know
                and understand these
hidden mysteries more and more — He can
impart to us knowledge of Himself,
His love for us etc. —
if He so chooses and we can
understand more and more as He
chooses to tell us about Himself to
us and we reach out seeking
to know Him ever deeper, love Him ever more —

We were created to know, love
                    and serve God —

We were created in the image
                    and likeness of God —

We are being as God wills, when
                    we are seeking to know
and love Him more deeply —

In heaven we will know so
                    much —

Prayer for Union with Jesus

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.

I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994

                R. The more we are filled with His
                    life, abundantly filled with
His grace — the more one, we
are in Him — the more and more we
                    know God —

Likened to a spouse knowing their spouse more
and more — God wants us to know
Him and be in such oneness, that we
can dwell deeply in Him —

The Father, Son and Holy Spirit dwell in
                    the graced baptized soul
                    in a special way —

Jesus gives us Himself — He
gives us His Body and Blood —

We are the empty vessel waiting
                    to be filled —

                We cannot even fathom
the love of the Divine God —
                    We are human creatures and
                    He shares Himself so abundantly
with us if we seek Him —

We were created for this most
intimate love with Our Beloved God —

                The Prayer for Union says
Come to me Lord and possess my soul —

But we must be open —
We must seek purity to be so
                        intimately one with God —

Oh God clean my heart and help me to
be able to love as you desire —
Open the portals of my heart for
                        deeper union with You and
                        love with men —

Jesus: Oh My child - My love was so great
for men — I took on their sins and
I suffered for their offenses —
I was whipped for their transgressions,
I was crowned for their pride —
The cross I carried was laden,
                        heavy with the sins of
                        the human race —
I ask for openness, but this
                        means to forgive the sinner
when they come to you in earnest —
                        this means peace that you
do not hold back to one
                        who comes and repents —

I forgive men for their sins when
                        they seek forgiveness with
                        a contrite heart, but they
                        are to make recompense for
                        their sins —

They are to do acts of love, of
                        charity to their brothers,
they are to live as the Father
                        wills —

On a snow covered road the path
                        is blocked because of the
                        snow, but the snow plow
comes and the path is made
                        open —

A man whose heart is full of debris
needs to empty that debris so
his heart can be open and
                        ready to love —

                    Unforgiveness held tightly clogs
                        the arteries of this spiritual
                        love from flowing as it
                        should —

The wounded man can hold himself
so closed he makes little or
no progress if he fails to
                        recognize how he has not
dealt with his wounds and how
stiltedly he acts when he is
called by Me to give love — to love
                        men of this earth —

                    Wounds not healed are like
cancers that swell and take over —
little room for love — real love
                    likened to Mine —

What must you do to do
                    God's will —

                        Clean the debris from your
                    heart —

Clean the debris - look at
the wounds of your relationships —
Be reconciled in love in your
own heart — pray for your persecutors —

Be grateful to those who help you —
Be ready to say thanks when one
                        is kind to you —

Be generous yourself as you know
I would want you to be —

Why hold back and be like other hard-hearted
                        men —

You were created in My image and likeness —
to put on Christ in the world —

To love not with a tainted heart —
                        this man says
"I might love you, if you love
                            me"
"I can be jealous, or envious
if I don't like what you
                            are doing"

The man who does the will of God
is loving through My Heart —
                        You love because it's God's will —
not gauging your love by how
others give or not give to you —

                    A man had a snazzy car —
In the car he had the best engine —
                            His car ran great —

A second man had a snazzy car —
And he put an old beat up
                            tainted - rusted engine
                            in his car —
It ran like a Junker —

You were created in My image and
                        likeness —

                    I am love —
That means you are to love —
I command you to love —

You can love through My Sacred
Heart of love - on fire for love
                        of men —

Or you can hold back your love —
                        lick your old wounds —
                        and love depending on how
                        others treat you or even
worse the devil lies to you
and you get on your pity pot
and say they are doing things to
you they aren't even doing —
and choose self-pity rather than loving —

To be a well oiled machine —
                        operating efficiently — the
                        parts work as one to
                        provide efficient service —

But you can be the clunker —
                        you can be the diseased
                        organ of the body that
                        holds it back and takes
                        over stopping functions
                        of efficiency —

Learning to die to the self-
                        centered ways of your
heart and love through My Heart
                        is your life's work —

You were created by God to know,
love and serve God and love
                        your neighbor as yourself —

Not doing so is rebelling against
                        God's will —

                    I am love —

You were created in My image and
                        likeness —

                    I am love —

You are to not give into
                        the 7 deadly sins —
                        tendencies of your fallen
                        human nature —
                        pride, greed, envy, wrath,
                        lust, gluttony, and sloth

Don't look at who you think
                        needs work —

                    You need work —

                    I am a God of justice —

When you die you will not
                        be judged for your neighbor
or your neighbor for you —

                    Some people think they need
                        no work —

I died for your sins —

I was whipped for your stilted
                        hearts —

Do yourselves a favor — let the
                        snow plow come down your
street — don't send it to
your neighbors — you need to
                        look at yourself — admit
your sins and ask for forgiveness —
                        repent with a firm purpose
of amendment and sin no more —
                        You have hurt people in
                            relationships - pray for
them — fix those hard hearts
                            that stay stuck trying to
                            prove you are right and
                            perfect —

You have a wounded human nature —

Make amends to your God —

                    Walk humbly —

                    Say you are sorry —

Come down from the tall ladders
                        where you worry more about
                        proving how perfect you
                        are than your wounded
                        relationship with Me and
                        others —

Live to have unity in love
                        with God and others —
Say you are sorry and repair
                            the breach for all you
                            hurt thinking you were
                            superior and right —

                    Don't be condescending —

Pray to be united and work to
                        high capacity as one —
to work in God's will —

To give your talents to build
                        My Kingdom in love —

Talents I gave to you —
use them for what I want —

Don't ever use My gifts to try to
                        make yourself look better than
                        your brothers —

Work as the Father's family in love —

                    Pray to be holy —

Mary is the perfect handmaid of God —

                    Mary is your model —

                    Reach for the stars —

The man who reaches for the
                        stars never stops reaching —

The man who reaches only far
enough to put a crown on his head —
                        reaches only 6 or 7 feet —

                    I see your heart —

I know the motive for why you
                        do things

Give your hearts to Our Hearts

Act of consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

"Lord Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the flock, I consecrate myself to Your most Sacred Heart. From Your pierced Heart the Church was born, the Church You have called me, as a member of Shepherds of Christ Associates, to serve in a most special way. You reveal Your Heart as a symbol of Your love in all its aspects, including Your most special love for me, whom You have chosen as Your companion in this most important work. Help me to always love You in return. Help me to give myself entirely to You. Help me always to pour out my life in love of God and neighbor! Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in You!

"Dear Blessed Virgin Mary, I consecrate myself to your maternal and Immaculate Heart, this Heart which is symbol of your life of love. You are the Mother of my Savior. You are also my Mother. You love me with a most special love as a member of Shepherds of Christ Associates, a movement created by your Son as a powerful instrument for the renewal of the Church and the world. In a return of love, I give myself entirely to your motherly love and protection. You followed Jesus perfectly. You are His first and perfect disciple. Teach me to imitate you in the putting on of Christ. Be my motherly intercessor so that, through your Immaculate Heart, I may be guided to an ever closer union with the pierced Heart of Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the flock."

 Colossians 1: 15-20

He is the image of the unseen God,
the first–born of all creation,
for in him were created all things
in heaven and on earth:
everything visible
    and everything invisible,
thrones, ruling forces,
    sovereignties, powers—
all things were created through him
    and for him.
He exists before all things
and in him all things hold together,
and he is the Head of the Body,
that is, the Church.

He is the Beginning,
the first–born from the dead,
so that he should be supreme in every way;
because God wanted all fullness
    to be found in him
and through him
to reconcile all things to him,
everything in heaven
    and everything on earth,
by making peace through his death
    on the cross.

1 John 1: 8-10

If we say, ‘We have no sin,’
we are deceiving ourselves,
and truth has no place in us;
if we acknowledge our sins,
he is trustworthy and upright,
so that he will forgive our sins
and will cleanse us from all evil.
If we say, ‘We have never sinned,’
we make him a liar,
and his word has no place in us.

                Jesus: You are vulnerable —

                    Reach for the stars —

                    Freedom is found in doing
                        God's will —

                    Freedom is found in obedience
                        to God's will —

Satan wants you to be a slave
                        to him —

Look at the Israelites and the
                        Egyptians — the Israelites
were slaves to the Pharaoh —

He went in the depth of
                        the Red Sea —

                    The devil wants you to
                        be his slave —

                    Don't listen to him —

                    Eve thought she could be
                        equal to God —

                    Look at how you all
                        suffered

Seek the vision of God —

                    Don't give into your
                        distorted vision

I created the world, the seen
and unseen — out of nothing

I am your God — Almighty, All Powerful —

I command you to love for your
                        own good —

                    I call —

                    You respond —

Satan said I will not serve God —

                    God created a serene, beautiful,
                        orderly, harmonious world —
                        A world without sin,
A world without evil and violence —

I made a world and created
men to be obedient and love
                        God and others —

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Liturgical Year
$ 10.00 plus postage

Guiding Light homily series - Steadfast to the Son - Cycle A — The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Liturgical Year
$ 10.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul - Cycle C — In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Liturgical Year
$ 10.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word - Cycle B — At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15

Guiding Light - The Word Alive in Our Hearts
Inspiring Homilies covering partial year of Cycle A by Fr. Joe Robinson

$ 10.00  plus postage

Priestly Newsletter - 2000 #1 - CD. - Christ is Our Strength - Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our-selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10

Priestly Newsletter - 2000 #2 - CD. - Suffering: A Source of Life - Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. Fr. Carter knew suffering that year. His voice is so powerful as he read each Newsletter from his heart and soul. "Every man has his own share in the redemption. Each one is also called to share in that suffering through which the redemption was accomplished. He is called to share in that suffering through which all human suffering has also been redeemed. In bringing about the redemption through suffering, Christ has also raised human suffering to the level of the redemption. Thus each man in his suffering can also become a sharer in the redemptive suffering of Christ..." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10
