                March 19, 2016 - St. Joseph

From Prayer Manual

Prayer to St. Joseph

St. Joseph, guardian of Jesus and chaste spouse of Mary, you passed your life in perfect fulfillment of duty. You supported the Holy Family of Nazareth with the work of your hands. Kindly protect those who trustingly turn to you. You know their aspirations, their hardships, their hopes; and they turn to you because they know you will understand and protect them. You too have known trial, labor, and weariness. But, even amid the worries of material life, your soul was filled with deep peace and sang out in true joy through intimacy with the Son of God entrusted to you, and with Mary, His tender Mother. Amen. --(Pope John XXIII)

Love All I Send to You

April 30, 1994

R. I do not pick the people He puts in my path. He puts people in my path and they may not be of my choosing. I must realize He is in charge of all things. He wants me to touch certain people. I do not get to pick whom He sends. Do they fit in my club? Then I will lead them to Christ.

He loves all of our brothers. He knows whom He wants us to touch. It is His Will, not mine. I am the empty vessel He uses.

Jesus: Let go, My child. Let it happen. Let Me use you as I desire. Do not close doors to people I send to you. I know far better than you who needs to be loved by Me through you. You size up the person. You will help this one, not talk to that one. No, no, My little ones. Be the empty vessel I use. Let it happen! Do not be in a huff to help him and not the old, thin lady. The old, thin lady is the one who needs My love this day. Did you say "no" when I sent her to you? I am asking for your surrender and your selflessness. I am asking you to be the empty vessel I use. I will send My beloved ones to you for My love. You must be open and love all your brothers. Get rid of your preconceived ideas. Look with the eyes of God. See in each child the precious creation of God the Father.

Pray for selflessness, little, beloved one. Oh, I want you to love for Me! Be open and ready to love all your brothers. I am Jesus, Son of the Living God. I live in you. Be My open door. Love for Me. They will never know My love if you love only those you choose. I know who needs Me. Open up, child. When I send you a beloved child of My Father, be ready and eager to love that child. Look with the eyes of God and see all My beloved ones. To My death I shed My blood for each and every soul. Who are you to criticize a creation of God the Father? When you love your brothers, short, tall, old, black, white, you love Me.

Song: Why Do We Hurt the Ones We Love

                R. I prayed and He answered me – not
the way I thought, but in a way
that led me to greater life in Him.
We need to be purified, to grow
out of many things that can be
hidden in ourselves and keep us
                stuck.

I remember the story where the
woman had 5 husbands and she
said they were all the same – so
she left them and she never looked
                at herself.

A person can have hurts when
                they are very little regarding
love and still be acting-out when
                they are old.

They can be still trying to resolve
                conflicts in love relationships because
                they never healed.

God wants us to do His work,
but with a wounded human nature
and others who we related to with
                wounded human natures and with
deaths of loved ones – we may
                need some particular healing in
a love relationship that we act out
in some way with others in an
attempt to resolve or heal the
                hidden hurt that needs healing.

The Holy Spirit can give us the gift
of knowledge to help us see ourselves
and how we need to seek healing
in these relationships that may be
long ago, but hurts us today in
                ways we act in relationships.
Dear Holy Spirit, please help us to
heal from all the wounded love
relationships of our lives – to
not bring them to hurt others in
our lives today that God wants
to be united in a relationship to
build up the Kingdom of His Love –
to help us to grow in loving –
                to help us to love.

The gifts given in baptism where
                our knowing and loving capacity
is elevated – can help us to love
supernaturally – more and more likened
to God. To advance in loving
                supernaturally in loving we
                must advance with the guidance
of the Holy Spirit in love –
We seek our love to be more and
                more pure – more God-like – more
and more living according to the
will of God the Father to promote
                the Kingdom of God.

                    Patterned behaviors in relationships
that need to be healed and are
destructive can be like a life-long
                virus that never goes away.
A disease can plague a person and
can keep them down – they can do
many good things to get better, but
once it has a grip in their system
it may not go away and they can
                even die –

We need to pray to the Holy Spirit to
reveal to us destructive behavior patterns
that need to be healed so we don't block
the work God is calling us to.

Time and time again hidden prejudices
of race, of men for women or women
against men, of fear of authority can
be ways people see that they allow
to determine their actions – they can
become a stale mate in a situation
the devil uses because they refuse
to change a bad destructive way
they act. It can be passed on from
generations past and they can go to
their death bed – teaching their children the
                same destructive patterned behavior they
were taught from generations past –
like it was taught to them – family
                rules that were destructive to
love and unity – to purity of loving
for being more and more in the image
                of God.

We are a work in progress and
                in love relationships there should
not be – the one who flees and never
works out anything – the games
people can play – getting so angry
                and making themselves a life-long
victim – when nobody is doing
                anything to them –

Anger inside – denying the truth
about the darkness they have lived
in life-long and inability to admit
                their own negative destructive
thoughts they played in their own
head 24 hours a day – blaming an
                innocent other for their own
                darkness inside.

God commands us to love –
God wants us in heaven with Him
eternally – We have been given
                the sacrament of baptism in
                which our knowing and loving
capacity is elevated to where we
                can love supernaturally.

If a man has a disease, it drags
him down many times and it can
last and last and finally he may die.
But if someone came and told him
he could be healed and live a healthy
life wouldn't he want to be healed.

God is a God of miracles. He is
God – we have to go to God to know God.
God is Divine. God is all pure –
We have a wounded human nature –
We have been taught from generations
past, we have had imperfect teachers,
we are imperfect ourselves, we have
loved imperfectly. We have a lot
of things we need to flush out in
our hearts to arrive at greater and
greater purity. We need God, so we
can be healed, so we can love, today,
as God wants us to love – more
                likened to Him.

The devil told Eve that she
                could be equal to God.
Eve listened to the devil – Eve
                disobeyed God. Because of pride
Eve convinced Adam to listen to her
reasoning based on what the devil
                told her.

We start out Lent with the Gospel
on the first Sunday how Jesus fasted
40 days in the desert and the devil
tried to tempt Him. Jesus is the New Adam –
Jesus told satan to get behind him.

                R. We saw the second Sunday of Lent
                the transfiguration Gospel – Where
Jesus took the 3 Apostles – the same
that would be in the Garden with
Him – to the top of Mt. Tabor and
He showed them Himself in His glory
                and the Father spoke

"This is my beloved Son, in whom
I am well pleased, listen to Him."

And we see how we are sons
of the Father and we are to follow
Jesus, not do what Adam and Eve
                did and listen to satan.

                    God has given us the
Sacraments to be more holy –

We can see the parable of the
fig tree – we have only so long to
do what God is asking us to do here
on earth – He doesn't give us
1000 years while we tell Him to
wait on us, so we can do our own
thing. Today is the day to grow
more in love. This takes the Holy Spirit.

The Fourth Sunday is the Parable
of the Prodigal Son. We can squander
the gifs God has given to us and
not do the Father's will. We have one
life to live, but God is merciful
and forgiving – if we go to Him, He
wants us to be in heaven with Him –
We must tell Him we are sorry and
beg for His forgiveness and mercy.
Our true home is heaven – God wants
                us in heaven.

We see in the Fifth Sunday's Gospel,
Cycle C, the woman caught in adultery –
again we see Jesus' love and compassion
and mercy for the sinner and we know
we are all sinners and in need of
                forgiveness.

We see on Passion Sunday – Jesus
riding on an ass. We see the whole
passion in the Gospel that day.
Jesus is honored and then we know
Jesus is crucified on Good Friday.
                I love Holy Saturday.

The Genesis reading is used about
creation, we see God's might and power.
In the reading about Abraham and
his son Isaac – we see Abraham's
                faith!

They always use the Reading of the
Red Sea – We know this prefigures
                baptism.

We see the Isaac reading about
                Coming to the Water –

We see the Baruch reading –
Walk as God wants and we will
                live in peace forever.

We see the Ezekiel reading –
He will pour clean water over
us and give us a new heart –

Then we have this reading from
                    Romans.

Romans 6: 3-11

You cannot have forgotten that all of us, when we were baptised into Christ Jesus, were baptised into his death. So by our baptism into his death we were buried with him, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the Father’s glorious power, we too should begin living a new life. If we have been joined to him by dying a death like his, so we shall be by a resurrection like his: realising that our former self was crucified with him, so that the self which belonged to sin should be destroyed and we should be freed from the slavery of sin. Someone who has died, of course, no longer has to answer for sin.

But we believe that, if we died with Christ, then we shall live with him too. We know that Christ has been raised from the dead and will never die again. Death has no power over him any more. For by dying, he is dead to sin once and for all, and now the life that he lives is life with God. In the same way, you must see yourselves as being dead to sin but alive for God in Christ Jesus.

                R. And we hear the Gospel from
                    Matthew 28: 1-10.

Matthew 28: 1-10

After the Sabbath, and towards dawn on the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala and the other Mary went to visit the sepulchre. And suddenly there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled away the stone and sat on it. His face was like lightning, his robe white as snow. The guards were so shaken by fear of him that they were like dead men. But the angel spoke; and he said to the women, ‘There is no need for you to be afraid. I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said he would. Come and see the place where he lay, then go quickly and tell his disciples, "He has risen from the dead and now he is going ahead of you to Galilee; that is where you will see him." Look! I have told you.’ Filled with awe and great joy the women came quickly away from the tomb and ran to tell his disciples.

And suddenly, coming to meet them, was Jesus. ‘Greetings,’ he said. And the women came up to him and, clasping his feet, they did him homage. Then Jesus said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers that they must leave for Galilee; there they will see me.’

                R. I love Holy Saturday's readings!
We see what a gift baptism is
                    for us.

God is all powerful. He created the
                    world from nothing –
He created us – He created us
                    in His image and likeness!

We see Abraham's faith in God –
to sacrifice His son Isaac and
we see the Mass is the Sacrifice
                    of Calvary, Sacramentally made
                    present.

We see how obstinate the Pharaoh
was and how God divided the
                Red Sea which prefigures baptism.
We hear the call to come to the water.
What a gift baptism is for us. We can
never be grateful enough to God
for all the gifts He has given us. In
                justice we owe Him gratitude
                in abundance. We see in
Baruch if we walk the way God
has called us, we will have peace
                forever.

In Ezekiel we see Ezekiel 36: 25-28.

Ezekiel 36: 25-28

I shall pour clean water over you and you will be cleansed; I shall cleanse you of all your filth and of all your foul idols. I shall give you a new heart, and put a new spirit in you; I shall remove the heart of stone from your bodies and give you a heart of flesh instead. I shall put my spirit in you, and make you keep my laws, and respect and practise my judgements. You will live in the country which I gave your ancestors. You will be my people and I shall be your God.

                R. The readings of Holy Saturday are so
wonderful. They excite me – how
wonderful a gift God gives to us –
I don't want to be like the prodigal
                son – do you?

God is all powerful – even in
our trying times – we must see
God does not change – we need
to pray to Him for all that is
going on in our world –

We do not judge God by the people.
We go to God and we know His
Might, His forgiveness when we ask,
His mercy when we are contrite
and ask God for mercy and forgiveness.

God gave Fr. Carter these prayers –
we need to spread the Prayer Chapters –

We need to spread these messages
from Jesus and Mary and the
Father and the Holy Sprit –

God is sending us help –
We need to ask for forgiveness
                        and mercy and know
                        He is God –
                        He is all powerful –
                        He is unchanging –
                        He is Divine –

We need to see through the eyes
                    of God –

God created us in His image
                    and likeness –

God gives us the Church and
                    the Sacraments –

Through Him, With Him, In Him

Words of Jesus to Members of
Shepherds of Christ Associates:

"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.

"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.

"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."

- Message from Jesus to Father Edward J. Carter, S.J., Founder, as given on July 31, 1994,
feast of Saint Ignatius Loyola, Founder of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits)

Apostles of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus

My dear fellow Associate Members,

Jesus is calling special apostles to join a new division of the Shepherds of Christ Movement. Here is a message from Jesus given to Father Carter:

My beloved priest-companion, I am requesting that a new prayer movement be started under the direction of Shepherds of Christ Ministries. I am asking for volunteers who are willing to pray before the Blessed Sacrament for one hour, twice-weekly. Members of the Shepherds of Christ prayer chapters, as well as others, are to be invited to join this movement.

These apostles are to pray for the intentions I am giving you. For part of the hour they are to use the prayers of the Shepherds of Christ Associates Handbook. They may spend the rest of the hour as they so choose.

I will use this new prayer movement within My Shepherds of Christ Ministries in a powerful way to help in the renewal of My Church and the world. I will give great graces to those who join this movement. The name, Apostles of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, is to be given to this movement.

I am inviting My beloved Rita Ring to be coordinator for this activity.

I pour out the great love of My Sacred Heart to all. I am Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the flock.

This is indeed a special calling for us to unite in one heart with His Eucharistic Heart and pray for the following intentions:

    1. For the spread of the devotion to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary culminating in the reign of the Sacred Heart and the triumph of the Immaculate Heart.
    2. For the Pope.
    3. For all bishops of the world.
    4. For all priests.
    5. For all sisters and brothers in the religious life.
    6. For all members of the Shepherds of Christ Movement, and for the spread of this movement to the world.
    7. For all members of the Catholic Church.
    8. For all members of the human family.
    9. For all souls in purgatory.

The Birth of the Full Ministries
of the Shepherds of Christ

"I wish to share with you part of a message which Jesus gave us on October 13, 1994. The message tells us about the expansion of the Shepherds of Christ movement:

'My beloved priest-companion, today I come to you with another mission. I am asking you to establish Shepherds of Christ Ministries. At My request you have already begun the priestly newsletter, "Shepherds of Christ", and the prayer chapters, Shepherds of Christ Associates...

'I am giving you this message on this day, the 77th Anniversary of the Great Apparition at Fatima, because of the close connection between the Shepherds of Christ movement and the Fatima message. The Fatima message is centered in devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart, especially in consecration to Our Hearts. Shepherds of Christ Ministries is also centered in devotion to Our Hearts. I will use Shepherds of Christ Ministries as a great instrument in helping to bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. When this occurs, My Church and the world will be experiencing the great era of peace promised by My Mother at Fatima.

'Today, then, October 13, 1994, the 77th Anniversary of the Great Apparition at Fatima, marks the birth of Shepherds of Christ Ministries. I pour forth the great love of My Sacred Heart to all. I am Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the flock.'

"Jesus has told us that Shepherds of Christ Ministries includes: the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, Shepherds of Christ Associates prayer chapters, various publications, including books, whatever else Our Lord directs us to undertake.

"As members of Shepherds of Christ Associates, you are an extremely important part of Shepherds of Christ Ministries. You have given great joy to the Heart of Jesus by responding to His invitation to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. As He draws you closer to His Heart and to His Mother's Heart as Associates members, He will fill you with an ever-increasing experience of His love, peace, and joy."

Prayer for Union with Jesus

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.

I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul

Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.
