                Today's Readings

1 Samuel 3: 1-10, 19-20

Now, the boy Samuel was serving Yahweh in the presence of Eli; in those days it was rare for Yahweh to speak; visions were uncommon. One day, it happened that Eli was lying down in his room. His eyes were beginning to grow dim; he could no longer see. The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying in Yahweh’s sanctuary, where the ark of God was, when Yahweh called, ‘Samuel! Samuel!’ He answered, ‘Here I am,’ and, running to Eli, he said, ‘Here I am, as you called me.’ Eli said, ‘I did not call. Go back and lie down.’ So he went and lay down. And again Yahweh called, ‘Samuel! Samuel!’ He got up and went to Eli and said, ‘Here I am, as you called me.’ He replied, ‘I did not call, my son; go back and lie down.’ As yet, Samuel had no knowledge of Yahweh and the word of Yahweh had not yet been revealed to him. Again Yahweh called, the third time. He got up and went to Eli and said, ‘Here I am, as you called me.’ Eli then understood that Yahweh was calling the child, and he said to Samuel, ‘Go and lie down, and if someone calls say, "Speak, Yahweh; for your servant is listening." ’ So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

Yahweh then came and stood by, calling as he had done before, ‘Samuel! Samuel!’ Samuel answered, ‘Speak, Yahweh; for your servant is listening.’

Samuel grew up. Yahweh was with him and did not let a single word fall to the ground of all that he had told him. All Israel knew, from Dan to Beersheba, that Samuel was attested as a prophet of Yahweh.

Psalm 40: 2, 5, 7-8, 9, 10

He pulled me up from the seething chasm,
from the mud of the mire.
He set my feet on rock,
    and made my footsteps firm.

How much you have done,
    Yahweh, my God –
your wonders, your plans for us –
    you have no equal.
I will proclaim and speak of them;
    they are beyond number

then I said, ‘Here I am, I am coming.’

In the scroll of the book it is written of me,
    my delight is to do your will;
your law, my God,
    is deep in my heart.

I proclaimed the saving justice of Yahweh
    in the great assembly.
See, I will not hold my tongue,
    as you well know.

I have not kept your saving justice locked in the depths of my heart,
but have spoken of your constancy and saving help.
I have made no secret of your faithful and steadfast love,
    in the great assembly.

Mark 1: 29-39

And at once on leaving the synagogue, he went with James and John straight to the house of Simon and Andrew. Now Simon's mother-in-law was in bed and feverish, and at once they told him about her. He went in to her, took her by the hand and helped her up. And the fever left her and she began to serve them.

That evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were sick and those who were possessed by devils. The whole town came crowding round the door, and he cured many who were sick with diseases of one kind or another; he also drove out many devils, but he would not allow them to speak, because they knew who he was.

In the morning, long before dawn, he got up and left the house and went off to a lonely place and prayed there. Simon and his companions set out in search of him, and when they found him they said, 'Everybody is looking for you.' He answered, 'Let us go elsewhere, to the neighbouring country towns, so that I can proclaim the message there too, because that is why I came.' And he went all through Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out devils.

                R. Eve had the first divided heart of a human
person. She was divided in her heart with God.
She wanted to be independent of God without God.

                R. Man can move more and more in the direction of
                    God's grace

Or he can be divided with God and rebel
                    against the will of God.

A person that doesn't learn to work with others
can rationalize how they can live independent
lives and they do not need to work on
relationships with others and one self.

God wants us to love Him first,
but if people don't love themselves as God
wants, they live their lives trying to
fix what is wanting in their hearts.
God intends us to love ourselves as
                    His creature.

Fr. Carter tells us of the 3 loves and he says
                    all must be present –

                Love of God
                Love of others
                Love of self

If any one is missing there is a problem.

A person living in fear, can wear a mask and
hide the truth about how they see
                    themselves.

If a person feels deficient about themselves,
not realizing how much God loves them
and how important they are to God –
they can use tendencies from the wounded
human nature to try to fix the hole
                    they feel about themselves.

Instead of being filled with light and trust
and God's love in their heart –
they are always working on trying to make
themselves look okay so they can be
jealous of others, seek control or
power over others, envious of others
                    trying to bring others down.

                Satan is real.

He works more and more, the more we are
                    further and further from God.

                Satan is sneaky –

Satan works in negative self-talk –

God created us to be happy

Happiness is found in God –

God must be our goal –

People who feel deficient can be afraid
                    to be abandoned and try
                    to force co-dependent relationships
                    on others – where they
use methods of power and control
                    to try to make them
                    dependent on them –

This Movement is about freedom –

Co-dependent relationships are about slavery –

Satan wants a person to be a slave to them –
he lies and presses on people to be full
of fear about being abandoned, not
                    trusting anyone, not being committed
because you can't trust anyone –
not making oneself vulnerable in any
way for fear of being hurt –

Rigid!! Stiff!! In control – as to never
                    really trust anyone –

With this comes a cold, locked-up heart.

We were created in the image and likeness
of God – God is love – to close
our hearts down and be cold hearted,
hard hearted is not like Jesus.

                January 15th

                    Today is Fr. Carter's birthday.

His Thesis for his doctors was done on
                        the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Fr. Carter was like Jesus, he was other
                    focused –

Fr. Carter let us all know how he loved us.

Fr. Carter let me know he trusted me and
he always supported me before others,
he was glad I talked when he was with
me – Once I said is it okay I am talking, he said
he loved it because he loved Jesus.

                Fr. Carter loved –

                His heart was warm –

He went out to others –

He made others feel welcome –

He saw others through the eyes of Jesus.

Fr. Carter had a dream.

               R. When he died the Jesuits gave us his library –
His books were on love and on Jesus.
                    Book after book on love.

What is more important than love –
                    God is love –

God commands us to love –
                    This brings unity.

                Satan wants division –
Satan wants hearts divided with God –
Satan wants hearts of darkness and hate –
Satan wants hearts of jealousy and envy and pride.

Satan tries to trick men, like he did Eve
                    in the garden –
they are free when they are prideful,
                        envious, jealous –
Instead they are enslaved to him –

A person addicted to being right – argues
to prove he is right – he needs
healing – he is enslaved like an
alcoholic, a person addicted to food
                    for comfort –

People can be hurt tragically when young
and have pain so deep – like a hole
                    in their soul and
they are always trying to fill it
                    with other persons and things

                Love finds a way –

Division in the heart can mean division
                    in our vocation against what
                    God wants –

What an awful place to be –

Being enslaved to negative thinking that
stops us from trusting or loving
                    any one

When it is God's commandment we
                    love –

John 13: 34

I give you a new commandment: love one another; you must love one another just as I have loved you.

The Transfiguration

Jesus: I have called you here this day to hear the message that I have delivered, for the situation in the world is serious, and so many souls this day, are being lost. After all the apparitions of My Mother, you should know her cries for her children, that are being lost in this world. And yet it is taken, as if it is nothing, when a soul is lost for all eternity, to the fires of hell. What do you think of that? As you meditate on the remaining Hail Marys of this mystery, meditate on the soul being lost for eternity, into the fires of hell. Is this not far worse than the loss of lives that you experienced in World War II, or the slaughter of the innocent babies within the womb of their mother? How horrifying indeed it is, for the violence in the schools today, when a madman goes into the school and begins to fire at the innocent. But your children are being poisoned this very day.

After 22 years of messages, I have come to you in this church, appeared here, to deliver this message of the seriousness, that it is not to be taken lightly. The message that I have delivered and the Lady of Clearwater, after she appeared for 7 1/2 years, and her image head destroyed on March 1, 2004, 10 years ago. As you grow, more and more, in your lack of sensitivity to the very things that are surrounding you, you have become numb, to messages delivered. How are you to be reached, for souls are at stake. It is like a flu, where people say, "oh I won't catch it, I won't catch it. My family won't catch it. We are not involved." Living your lives, many of My people, as if death will not come, some day at your door, living willy-nilly lives, in a numb state of inactivity. And I have called to you, and told you the seriousness.

And so the more that I speak, the more that I feel that I am ignored. The more that I give, the more the ingratitude. Willy-nilly – Insensitivity – Scuffing it off, as if it is nothing. I am offended. I am offended by the deaths of the Holocaust. I am offended, when the warning was given, and there was no consideration to how such destruction of lives offended God, who gave to man, gifts upon gifts, and ask that they love and bear fruit for the Kingdom, that they work with one another. It is as if you think I do not see. I know your hearts. I know your ways. I know how I have been blocked, by many of the very people, that I have called.

And I speak to you of St. Francis, for he is a saint, that delivered the message that he was asked to deliver. And yet this very day, there are Franciscan all over the world. For what mattered was what he delivered that helped so many souls. When Mary appeared to the children of Fatima, they treated the apparitions, in such a way in which, they tried to block them and jailed the children. Was it the children's fault that they were jailed? And where are the jailers this day? But what of the lives of so many millions that were destroyed, torn apart, blown apart, drowned, shot from the air, the Jews exterminated, the babies killed, the murder of the innocent – and you do not feel, you owe your God reparation for such an atrocity?

When I was ignored after the apparitions of the Blessed Mother, long ago, We gave to you another chance, as Mary appeared on the building in Clearwater, in a way that has never happened in salvation history. And your world responded by shooting off the image head. Now all these years later, with insensitivity, the message is not received with the seriousness, in any way, in which it is delivered. And the world will continue to go deeper into darkness and suffer far more than World War II, with what is happening today.

R. I am the messenger, and I have delivered the message, that He delivers to us this day. It is a message from the Lord that is giving to us a life savor, to change lives, to make the world into that Christic image, for which the world was created, to bring forth children of the light, love in the human family, a community that is united, the Father's family, the reflection of love in unity. As a messenger, I deliver this message from God, and He gives, and He gives, and He gives, and He gives and He is ignored.

Hail Mary

Song: A Song from Jesus

The Institution of the Eucharist

1. Jesus: What a gift it is that you are given, the Eucharist. How I am neglected, ignored, treated with disrespect, and I give Myself to you. How fast you are to think of your little hurts, but how slow you are to think about how you have offended God.

2. Jesus: To those who have been given much, much will be expected. I have given to you the secrets of My Heart, with the deepest love, with enthusiasm for you to tell the world, that the answer is in loving God and loving others as yourselves, so much so, that I have given to you Myself this very day, in the reception of the Eucharist. And I cry to you to take this message seriously.

3. Jesus: For what does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, but loses his soul. Your world is so sterile in its ways, so cold in its hearts. And God has given to you the Mighty Medicine, so that men will know, that it is in God that your world can be healed, and formed, more and more, in the image and likeness as God intended from the beginning. Do you think that I will go away? Or that the plan will change with more and more rebellion?

Whenever there is rebellion, in which a person has habits of rebellion, if they want to correct these ways, they must pray, they must come back, they must come out of the hole, however deep it is – deeper and deeper into darkness they have gone, with the murder of babies, and the killing of the innocent, with the ways of ignoring God, independence of God as Eve in the Garden. Independence from God, God the Creator. The creature rebelling against God. I have all the power, and all the healing comes through God.

4. Hail Mary

5. Jesus: I died a brutal death to bring you life. I died for your sinful ways, that you would be filled more and more with My life. Life is in ME.

6. Hail Mary
7. Hail Mary
8. Hail Mary
9. Hail Mary
10. Hail Mary

Sing: Hail Holy Queen

Jesus: Cold hearts, cold hearts – many are so familiar with the cold hearts, that it becomes normal to them. And yet I have given to you a life savor, of knowing about God's love, for you cannot even fathom what the love of God is really like. How it wounds My Heart, for the cold hearts. How does it wound you, when you give and you are not received? When you give and give and give, and how you lick your wounds and you whine. But how you come to My Eucharist, with hearts that are cold hearts. How you come before Me, and you honor Me only with your words, but your hearts are far from Me. And I have called you to the sanctuary of My Heart, for My Heart is burning with the most intense love, that you will know God, and bring this message of truth to the world. And yet many reject Me, and the message that I deliver, for their cold hearts, their cold hearts that become normal to them, like many of the other ways, that need to be addressed. You are here to grow every minute of every day, preparing yourselves in your lives, for that eternal banquet, in which, you will have love that you cannot even understand. Cold hearts, not in heaven. For heaven is made for Lovers. And the process is now, to prepare your heart that you will be taken to heaven, for when you are on your deathbed, the time will be nigh.

What did you do with the days of your lives? So many today, do not want to commit. Do not want to commit to the plan of the Father? Or if they give themselves in a vocation, they don't want to work at it. Husbands and wives, that may selfishly join in such a sacred union, to only tear the other apart. It is commitment, that the devil attacks, that tells you, that you should be independent without God, and that you will be happy. The taunting of satan, the hypocrisy of his message, the ways he manipulates emotions, and people give in, when they know, if they stop and pray and think, what God really wants them to do. For you are on a journey, and by the sweat of your brow, you will earn your bread. It's not manipulation, it's not winning over the other to see who can be more powerful. Power comes from the Almighty God, and it is given to you, to serve Me. How flimsy is the excuse, when you say no to what you know is the truth, and you feed your pride, like yeast in the bread.

Come to Me, for I have given to you one of the great treasures, for the hearts of this world, to be turned to the Reign of My Sacred Heart and the Triumph of My Mother's heart. You can join the train or you can be independent, all the way. But in the end all that will matter, will be only those things that were as God wanted. In the end when it is all over, what goes with you is how you loved and served the Lord, and sought to know Him with all your Heart, your whole soul and your whole being. I watched those who live their lives trying to prove that they are right. They are addicted, as one enslaved by satan. For you are wounded human creatures of the Creator, who loves you dearly. But you are to be docile. There are so many today, because of their pride, that will be lost for eternity.

And Mary speaks and she says: I stood beneath the cross of my Son and my heart was in such anguish for my little ones, that will be lost to the fires of hell forever. I appear, I appear, I appear and I am ignored. For the sake of your brothers and for your own hearts, turn away from your cold, controlling hearts, and surrender to the God who loves you and gives you such a treasure, and asks you to tell the world, for this is the Mighty Medicine. And where men having ignored this message, the angels will read the message, and their sounds will sing in the heavens, for the Lord has spoken a great gift to the men of this earth. Where will you be, when He calls with such fervor, to come to His Heart and to know His undying love? Where will you be when you held out your cold heart, and tried to convince the world, how your ways were the ways of God? For what comes from your mouth, if it is not from a heart of love, is like the wind, it blows and it is gone. But those that are rooted in the Heart of Jesus, will know the undying love of God, for all eternity. And the words of those, who blow hot air, is empty. Amen.

R. In the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

                R. Division in our hearts against God's will
for us is a bad place to be in.

Jesus came a baby, soft and supple –
He wanted us to love Him and
                    He came a baby.

Hard hearts are not happy hearts.

                Divided hearts are closed down.

Matthew 13: 14-15

So in their case what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah is being fulfilled:

Listen and listen, but never understand!
Look and look, but never perceive!
This people’s heart has grown coarse,
    their ears dulled,
they have shut their eyes tight
to avoid using their eyes to see,
        their ears to hear,
    their heart to understand,
    changing their ways
        and being healed by me.

Hebrews 3: 8

    Do not harden your hearts,
        as at the rebellion,
as at the time of testing in the desert,

Colossians 2: 1-23

I want you to know, then, what a struggle I am having on your behalf and on behalf of those in Laodicea, and on behalf of so many others who have never seen me face to face. It is all to bind them together in love and to encourage their resolution until they are rich in the assurance of their complete understanding and have knowledge of the mystery of God in which all the jewels of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.

I say this to make sure that no one deceives you with specious arguments. I may be absent in body, but in spirit I am there among you, delighted to find how well-ordered you are and to see how firm your faith in Christ is.

So then, as you received Jesus as Lord and Christ, now live your lives in him, be rooted in him and built up on him, held firm by the faith you have been taught, and overflowing with thanksgiving.

Make sure that no one captivates you with the empty lure of a ‘philosophy’ of the kind that human beings hand on, based on the principles of this world and not on Christ.

In him, in bodily form, lives divinity in all its fullness, and in him you too find your own fulfilment, in the one who is the head of every sovereignty and ruling force.

In him you have been circumcised, with a circumcision performed, not by human hand, but by the complete stripping of your natural self. This is circumcision according to Christ. You have been buried with him by your baptism; by which, too, you have been raised up with him through your belief in the power of God who raised him from the dead. You were dead, because you were sinners and uncircumcised in body: he has brought you to life with him, he has forgiven us every one of our sins.

He has wiped out the record of our debt to the Law, which stood against us; he has destroyed it by nailing it to the cross; and he has stripped the sovereignties and the ruling forces, and paraded them in public, behind him in his triumphal procession.

Then never let anyone criticise you for what you eat or drink, or about observance of annual festivals, New Moons or Sabbaths. These are only a shadow of what was coming: the reality is the body of Christ. Do not be cheated of your prize by anyone who chooses to grovel to angels and worship them, pinning every hope on visions received, vainly puffed up by a human way of thinking; such a person has no connection to the Head, by which the whole body, given all that it needs and held together by its joints and sinews, grows with the growth given by God.

If you have really died with Christ to the principles of this world, why do you still let rules dictate to you, as though you were still living in the world? - 'Do not pick up this, do not eat that, do not touch the other,' and all about things which perish even while they are being used – according to merely human commandments and doctrines! In these rules you can indeed find what seems to be good sense – the cultivation of the will, and a humility which takes no account of the body; but in fact they have no value against self-indulgence.

Genesis 6: 5

Yahweh saw that human wickedness was great on earth and that human hearts contrived nothing but wicked schemes all day long. Yahweh regretted having made human beings on earth and was grieved at heart.

Hebrews 4: 12

The word of God is something alive and active: it cuts more incisively than any two–edged sword: it can seek out the place where soul is divided from spirit, or joints from marrow; it can pass judgement on secret emotions and thoughts.

Ephesians 4: 18

Intellectually they are in the dark, and they are estranged from the life of God, because of the ignorance which is the consequence of closed minds.

Jeremiah 17: 9

‘The heart is more devious
    than any other thing,
and is depraved;
    who can pierce its secrets?

2 Corinthians 5: 10

For at the judgement seat of Christ we are all to be seen for what we are, so that each of us may receive what he has deserved in the body, matched to whatever he has done, good or bad.

Romans 5: 12

Well then; it was through one man that sin came into the world, and through sin death, and thus death has spread through the whole human race because everyone has sinned.

1 Peter 5: 8

Keep sober and alert, because your enemy the devil is on the prowl like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

Mark 3: 5

Then he looked angrily round at them, grieved to find them so obstinate, and said to the man, 'Stretch out your hand.' He stretched it out and his hand was restored.

Exodus 7: 3-4

But I myself shall make Pharaoh stubborn and shall perform many a sign and wonder in Egypt. Since Pharaoh will not listen to you, I shall lay my hand on Egypt and with great acts of judgement lead my armies, my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.

Mark 10: 5-10

Then Jesus said to them, 'It was because you were so hard hearted that he wrote this commandment for you. But from the beginning of creation he made them male and female. This is why a man leaves his father and mother, and the two become one flesh. They are no longer two, therefore, but one flesh. So then, what God has united, human beings must not divide.' Back in the house the disciples questioned him again about this,

Prayer for the Hardened Heart

Jesus, place Your hands on my brother. His heart is in need of Your healing. His heart is dark and hard and he needs You to melt all the hate and anger that has made his heart black and cold. Thaw his heart with the warmth of Your love. Let the fire of Your love turn his heart soft, vibrant, aglow inside, with Your rich love.

Let the heart be as Yours, red and filled as a furnace with Your love, red outside, burning with white light and heat inside. Melt the trouble away. Cast the devil and his hatred back to hell. Command him to stay there and never to return to the heart of my loved one. You are all powerful. You I adore and honor and praise. You I am forever thanking for Your great glory. You I love intently.

Thank You, Jesus, for responding to this heart.

We love You so!                                                                                                           –   January 24, 1994

Song: Why Do We Hurt the Ones we Love

Mark 8: 17

And Jesus knew it, and he said to them, 'Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not understand, still not realise? Are your minds closed?

Mark 4: 1-25

Again he began to teach then by the lakeside, but such a huge crowd gathered round him that he got into a boat on the water and sat there. The whole crowd were at the lakeside on land. He taught them many things in parables, and in the course of his teaching he said to them, "Listen! Imagine a sower going out to sow. Now it happened that, as he sowed, some of the seed fell on the edge of the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some seed fell on rocky ground where it found little soil and at once sprang up, because there was no depth of earth; and when the sun came up it was scorched and, not having any roots, it withered away. Some seed fell into thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it produced no crop. And some seeds fell into rich soil, grew tall and strong, and produced a good crop; the yield was thirty, sixty, even a hundredfold.' And he said, 'Anyone who has ears for listening should listen!'

When he was alone, the Twelve, together with the others who formed his company, asked what the parables meant. He told them, 'To you is granted the secret of the kingdom of God, but to those who are outside everything comes in parables,

so that they may look and look,
        but never perceive;
    listen and listen, but never understand;
    to avoid changing their ways
        and being healed.

He said to them, 'Do you not understand this parable? Then how will you understand any of the parables? What the sower is sowing is the word. Those on the edge of the path where the word is sown are people who have no sooner heard it than Satan at once comes and carries away the word that was sown in them. Similarly, those who are sown on patches of rock are people who, when first they hear the word, welcome it at once with joy. But they have no root deep down and do not last; should some trial come, or some persecution on account of the word, at once they fall away. Then there are others who are sown in thorns. These have heard the word, but the worries of the world, the lure of riches and all the other passions come in to choke the word, and so it produces nothing. And there are those who have been sown in rich soil; they hear the word and accept it and yield a harvest, thirty and sixty and a hundredfold.'

He also said to them, ‘Is a lamp brought in to be put under a tub or under the bed? Surely to be put on the lamp–stand? For there is nothing hidden, but it must be disclosed, nothing kept secret except to be brought to light. Anyone who has ears for listening should listen!’

He also said to them, ‘Take notice of what you are hearing. The standard you use will be used for you—and you will receive more besides; anyone who has, will be given more; anyone who has not, will be deprived even of what he has.’

                R. To avoid a hard heart we must tell the
truth about our sins and ask
for forgiveness and forgive others –

Mark 6: 45-52

And at once he made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead to the other side near Bethsaida, while he himself sent the crowd away. After saying goodbye to them he went off into the hills to pray. When evening came, the boat was far out on the sea, and he was alone on the land. He could see that they were hard pressed in their rowing, for the wind was against them; and about the fourth watch of the night he came towards them, walking on the sea. He was going to pass them by, but when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost and cried out; for they had all seen him and were terrified. But at once he spoke to them and said, 'Courage! It's me! Don't be afraid.' Then he got into the boat with them and the wind dropped. They were utterly and completely dumbfounded, because they had not seen what the miracle of the loaves meant; their minds were closed.

                R. Hard Hearts

From The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius
    by Louis J. Puhl, S.J.
 p.11

21.                     SPIRITUAL EXERCISES

Which have as their purpose the conquest of self
and the regulation of one's life in such a way that
no decision is made under the influence of any
    inordinate attachment

                R. Love finds a way –

Authority is a friend in the Church –
a person who rebels against authority
                    can have issues from
                        childhood –
likewise they won't know God the Father
                        as He is.

A person can live their whole life
                    rebelling against authority
                    and trying to get power
                    over authority because of childhood
wounds with regard to authority –

In the Church, God intends us
                    to obey authority –

If we rebel against it we
                    rebel against God's will –
So we are divided in our
                    hearts with God –

                January 15, 2014

                R. Dear Jesus,

I can never live the moments of this
                day again.

When I go to bed tonight they will
                be gone forever.

                    I must treasure each moment
I have right now because I can
never have it back again –

                    Thanks for this thought

                    I love you, Jesus.

I love God the Father and the Holy Spirit
and want to live by the
                        Father's will.

The Our Father

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

                R. A person that doesn't trust others
can have walls - 10 feet thick around
                them.

If they get close and feel love they can
hurt others because of love - hate
experiences - they have lived through
                    in their lives.

They didn't know the constancy of
the faithful love of God - so
                    they can create conflict with
people they begin to love so
they can be safe and not go there
where peace and love is constant.
They have division in their hearts
from the past. They can begin
division if everyone is one because
                    unity is foreign to them.
                    Unity is uncomfortable –

                Division, holding out, conflict is
what is familiar to them –
                    they lived this for 20, 30, 40,
50 years seeking what is familiar –
                    conflict, division, conflict,
                    argumentation

Then they can keep the 10 feet wall
around them and they don't have
to work with anybody – really
                    have fruitful, working, lasting
                    relationships –

                Relationships are push and pull
                    depending on how they feel
                    threatened, have fear of
                    abandonment and want control
because they feel secure if no one
is over them and they are controlling
                    things with division and conflict.

                April 30, 1992

                R. Dear God, help me to do Your will, fill me
with Your love and Your goodness so
I can be like You and give myself
                    to others as You intend.

Jesus: You are My most precious child,
I love you every minute of the
day, I dwell in you, I love
you and I am in your heart –
teach all about My love for them.
teach them about the Eucharist –
I am blessing you in so
many ways. I love you, I
am taking care of you –

I am your God, I am ever present in
                    your life,
                    I guard you –
                    I am watching you –
                    I do not slumber –
                    I do not sleep –
                    I constantly watch over you.
                    I am your God.

                January 15, 2014 continues

Jesus: Being one means you have love in
your heart for Me and want to
                    please Me by loving your
                    brothers.

People are not to be divided with
those over them for they hurt
the place they are involved in –
                    they hurt others.

                Sabotaging one's own work –

                Work on your addiction –

                Addictions help ease pain –
When the pain comes up, the addicted
person turns to the addiction and
                        uses that –

The pain never goes away by using an addiction
                        to numb the pain –
                        it comes up worse –
                        the pain indicates something
                        needs attention and must be
                        healed –

                    Addiction is enslavement –

                    R. Not reporting for what God wants
                        is opposing God's will, so
                        we serve satan instead.

People can seek over - achievement to numb
                    the pain because of
                    low self-esteem
                    addiction
                    fear of abandonment

People can be an over - achiever
                    taking care of everybody else
and living in a numb body –
not in touch with themselves –

                In dysfunctional families people
                    have roles –
                    like the family scapegoat
                    the family hero

Being wounded in these roles can
                    be life threatening if the
                    person keeps acting out
                    their unfinished business on
                    innocent others –
                    projection

People can create a crisis, just to
                    get control, stop what's going
                    on, get their adrenaline pumping
because they are not happy –

People can be fidgety from working
                    and working, using caffeine
                    to keep themselves busy

                Does your addiction interfere with
                    consistent living?

It brings highs and lows –

Like alcohol - there is a cycle
                    (1) thinking about using
                    (2) using
                    (3) coming down from use

There are clues to addiction –
                    (1) people around tell us –
                    (2) our physical self is suffering
                    (3) do we ignore activities, exercise,
                        eating balanced meals –

                    EAT TO LIVE  not
                    LIVE TO EAT

                Or it can be

                    WORK to LIVE  not
                    LIVE to WORK

                Addictive thinking –
                    hearing parents' negative tapes
                        over and over again
                        in our minds

                    We control our thoughts!

                    The Rosary helps

                    Blue Books help

                How do we live –

Do we live a self-destructive cycle?

                    I live to care –
                    I care to live –

                CAREAHOLISM

                    It's a work addiction veiled in a
                        noble profession –

                COMPULSIVE BEHAVIORS
                NEED TO CONTROL
                PERFECTIONISM
                BROWNOUTS

                Difficulty having fun!
                Difficulty relating with others.

                What keeps us stuck

                    FEAR
                    ANGER
                    RESENTMENT
                    SHAME
                    BEING RIGHT

Why do we carry our past failures
                    on our back?

Who needs their parents on their
                    back?

                R. We can have a reaction of a
                    2 year old if somebody
                    corrects us because we don't
                    want any correction –

                Layers of negative thoughts
                Layers of failure thoughts

                R. Like an onion –
one can be covered with layers that block life

                R. Get rid of the layers of old tapes
                Get to the real self

                Happiness

get rid of traps of frozen
suppressed anger - never addressed –

                    Tell the truth
Get rid of Guilt and Pride

How can a person make a decision about
                    life when they are

                R. Recovery –

getting in touch with the truth
                    suppressed anger
                    addictions used to numb pain
                    brown - outs
                    lies about the truth

                R. Jesus was crucified BARE

January 5, 1997

R. On January 5, 1997, I was wakened by Our Lord and He was mumbling as He was around my bed as He did on October 8, 1997, when He delivered the "Seedless, Barren, No Fruit on the Vine" message.

I heard Him and He repeated the words over and over again. I had a copy of the all-night message on the floor, I jumped from the bed and began to write around the message, for it was the only paper available and He was speaking very plainly and direct. I wrote this message in the margins of the paper. He kept repeating "BABY, BARE BABY, LAID BARE".

Jesus:  Open yourself, Oh Jerusalem, your time is come you will be a light to the people in darkness, many will walk whence you come and the earth will be shakened and the light will come across a dark sky and enlighten their minds.

Oh stiff-necked people, you are so stiff in your ways, let the spirit envelope you and lead you on your way.

A country of stiffs, a people of planning and prodding, of deliberating and wondering—you lack faith, Jerusalem, you lack faith in God.

Oh walk naked into the cold night, you are cold in your hearts and naked in your clothing—I cloth you with glory, I light your face with light, but you turn your cheeks to the darkness and stay stiff-necked in your hearts. Oh cold and dark hearts, reach for the light that you may know the glory that awaits the sinners and enlightens their minds.

                R. Afraid to open up the past –
                    it hurt too much –
                    so

                R. How does our heart feel –

We are the wounded children of Eve –

                Mary's heart is pure –

We are made in the image of Jesus.

We can't make the tree grow faster –

                    It takes time –

We have a life to live to be pure in
                        our hearts –

                    We are sinners

We have a wounded human nature –

God is the Divine healer –

                Our moments belong to God

Honor and celebrate this gift of life
God has given to us –

Don't be locked in childhood pain –
Living the past pain and hurting ourselves
                        and others again –

                Celebrate life

People locked in pain don't feel –
                    feelings are stuffed –
years and years of pain stuffed
like the can of rubber bands

                R. Do you want to live –
                    we have a free will!

                Trusting and loving others.
                Working with others.

Do we want to be
     numb from
     pain –
     locked up!
     pulled in like
     a turtle?

                Move from
                    hurting to being healed –

                BE A VICTOR!

                R. Letting go of:

                    Addicted to anger
                    Suppressed anger
                    Passive-aggressive behavior
Punishing others for your darkness inside

Many children of Alcoholics don't feel,
                    trust and don't talk
about it. They are walking - wounded.

                Memory losses of childhood indicate
                    suppressed feelings, suppressed anger,
                    loss of childhood many times

                Wounded childhood can lead to
                    loss of memory –
losing in - touch with the past,
                    fear of abandonment, but too
walled-in to get close to anyone –
                    have problems with boundaries
                    distorted thinking
                    abnormal ways parents acted
                    being right all the time
                    perfectionism

Some children who grew up in dysfunctional
homes could have lived in an
                    emotional prison –

Many children had damaged childhoods when
they were learning to relate with
                    others

They are not taught, needed, problem - solving techniques –

                A PERSON FROM A WOUNDED
                    CHILDHOOD HAS TO COME
OUT OF DENIAL if they are
                    caught up!

                Denial and Idealization

You can't heal from wounds you don't
                    know you have –

Failure to validate the truth retards
                    healing –

                Memory repression

God wants us to be whole and grow
more and more like Jesus –

The family could have been a circus –

                Ways to healing dysfunctional behavior

                    (1) Be consistent and structured
                    (2) Be committed
                    (3) Be true to your word
                    (4) Be constant

We need to get in touch with suppressed
                    hurt feelings and suppressed angers.
                    Some people don't remember long
                    blocks of time – because
of pain and they can be afraid
to face the truth – and stuffed feelings

People can act - out unfinished business from
the past - in an attempt to
                    finish this unfinished business –
                    punishing innocent others doesn't
                    help us heal –
people can be addicted to dealing
                    with pain, by punishing
                    innocent others

Get rid of negative thinking –

Holy Spirit Novena

DAILY NOVENA PRAYERS

Opening Prayer

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Dear Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus, in union with Him in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in the Holy Spirit. We come to You united to the Child Jesus of Good Health and the Infant of Prague. We come to You in the perfect, sinless heart of Our Mother Mary, asking her powerful intercession, uniting ourselves to her holy tears. We come to You united to all the angels and saints, and the souls in purgatory.

Prayer for Holy Spirit

We pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on us, to be baptized by the Holy Spirit, that He will descend mightily on us as He did on the Apostles at Pentecost. That the Holy Spirit will transform us from fear to fearlessness and that He will give us courage to do all the Father is asking of us to help bring about the Reign of the Sacred Heart and the triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart. We pray for the Holy Spirit to descend mightily on the Jesuits and the Poor Clares on the Shepherds of Christ leaders and members and on the whole Body of Christ and the world.

Protection by the Blood of Jesus

We pray that the Blood of Jesus will be spread on us, everyone in our families, and the Shepherds of Christ Movement, that we will be able to move steadfastly ahead and be protected from the evil one.

Healing

We pray for healing in body, mind, and soul and generational healing in ourselves, in all members in our families, and in all members of the Shepherds of Christ Movement, the Jesuit Community, the Poor Clares, the Body of Christ, and the world.

Prayer for Strength and Light

We adore You, oh Holy Spirit. Give us strength, give us light, console us. We give ourselves entirely to You. Oh Spirit of light and grace, we want to only do the will of the Father. Enlighten us that we may live always in the Father's will.

Eternal Spirit fill us with Your Divine Wisdom that we may comprehend more fully insight into Your Divine Mysteries.

Give us lights, Oh Holy Spirit that we may know God. Work within the heart, the spiritual womb of the Virgin Mary, to form us more and more into the image of Jesus.

Prayer to Be One with God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit

We long for You, Oh Spirit of Light, we long to know God, we want to be one with Him, our Divine God. We want to be one with the Father, know Him as a Person most intimately. We want to know the beloved One, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and live and dwell in Him at all times, every moment of our lives. We want to be one with You, Oh Spirit of Light, that You move in us in our every breath.

Prayer to Be One in Jesus

Let us experience life in the Sacred Heart of Jesus, so we can say as Saint Paul, "I have been crucified with Christ and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me...." Let us live, united to the Mass, all through the day being one in Him. Let us be able to love and know in this elevated state of oneness with our God. We long for Thee, oh beauteous God, we love You, we love You, we love You. We praise You, worship You, honor You, adore You, and thank You, our beloved God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Prayer to Dwell in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary

We seek to be one in God, to live and dwell in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, our little heaven on earth, to experience life in the all perfect, pure, sinless heart of our Mother. We want the Holy Spirit to move in us and to be united to Jesus as the Bridegroom of our souls and be a most perfect sacrifice offered to the Father at every moment as we unite in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass around the world to help in the salvation of souls.

Prayer for the Holy Spirit and His Gifts

Come Holy Spirit, come, come into our hearts, inflame all people with the fire of Your love.

Leader: Send forth Your Spirit and all will be reborn.
All:  And You will renew the face of the earth.

We pray for the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, we ask for perfection in our souls to make us holy, holy souls likened to God.

Dear Holy Spirit, we give ourselves to You soul and body. We ask You to give us the Spirit of Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord.

Prayer for the Word Alive in Our Hearts

We know, dear Holy Spirit, the Word in His human nature was brought forth within the womb of the woman. We pray that His word will be brought forth in our hearts as He lives and dwells in us. We want the incarnation to go on in our lives. Dear Holy Spirit, work in us.

Little Prayers to the Holy Spirit

Dear Holy Spirit, help us not to be ignorant or indifferent or weak, help us to be strong with the love of God.

Dear Holy Spirit, please pray for our needs for us.

Dear Holy Spirit, help us to respect God and to avoid sin. Help us to live in the Father's will.

Dear Holy Spirit, help us to keep Your commandments and to respect authority. Help us to love all things as You will us to love them. Help us to want to pray and always serve God with the greatest love. Help us to know the truth. Help us to have the gift of faith, hope, and love. Help us to know what is right and what is wrong.

A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul

Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.

First Period
Meditations Nine Days

  1. Romans 8:14-17

All who are guided by the Spirit of God are sons of God; for what you received was not the spirit of slavery to bring you back into fear; you received the Spirit of adoption, enabling us to cry out, 'Abba, Father!' The Spirit himself joins with our spirit to bear witness that we are children of God. And if we are children, then we are heirs, heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ, provided that we share his suffering, so as to share his glory.

  2. Romans 8:5-9

Those who are living by their natural inclinations have their minds on the things human nature desires; those who live in the Spirit have their minds on spiritual things. And human nature has nothing to look forward to but death, while the Spirit looks forward to life and peace, because the outlook of disordered human nature is opposed to God, since it does not submit to God's Law, and indeed it cannot, and those who live by their natural inclinations can never be pleasing to God. You, however, live not by your natural inclinations, but by the Spirit, since the Spirit of God has made a home in you. Indeed, anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.

  3. 1 John 4:12-16

No one has ever seen God, but as long as we love one another God remains in us and his love comes to its perfection in us. This is the proof that we remain in him and he in us, that he has given us a share in his Spirit. We ourselves have seen and testify that the Father sent his Son as Saviour of the world. Anyone who acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him and he in God. We have recognised for ourselves, and put our faith in, the love God has for us. God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him.

  4. 1 John 4:17-21

Love comes to its perfection in us when we can face the Day of Judgement fearlessly, because even in this world we have become as he is. In love there is no room for fear, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear implies punishment and no one who is afraid has come to perfection in love. Let us love, then, because he first loved us. Anyone who says 'I love God' and hates his brother, is a liar, since whoever does not love the brother whom he can see cannot love God whom he has not seen. Indeed this is the commandment we have received from him, that whoever loves God, must also love his brother.

  5. 1 John 4:7-11

My dear friends, let us love one another, since love is from God and everyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. Whoever fails to love does not know God, because God is love. This is the revelation of God's love for us, that God sent his only Son into the world that we might have life through him. Love consists in this: it is not we who loved God, but God loved us and sent his Son to expiate our sins. My dear friends, if God loved us so much, we too should love one another.

  6. Acts of the Apostles 1:1-5

In my earlier work, Theophilus, I dealt with everything Jesus had done and taught from the beginning until the day he gave his instructions to the apostles he had chosen through the Holy Spirit, and was taken up to heaven. He had shown himself alive to them after his Passion by many demonstrations: for forty days he had continued to appear to them and tell them about the kingdom of God. While at table with them, he had told them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait there for what the Father had promised. 'It is', he had said, 'what you have heard me speak about: John baptised with water but, not many days from now, you are going to be baptised with the Holy Spirit.'

  7. Acts of the Apostles 1:6-9

Now having met together, they asked him, 'Lord, has the time come for you to restore the kingdom to Israel?' He replied, 'It is not for you to know times or dates that the Father has decided by his own authority, but you will receive the power of the Holy Spirit which will come on you, and then you will be my witnesses not only in Jerusalem but throughout Judaea and Samaria, and indeed to earth's remotest end.'

As he said this he was lifted up while they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight.

  8. Acts of the Apostles 1:12-14

So from the Mount of Olives, as it is called, they went back to Jerusalem, a short distance away, no more than a Sabbath walk; and when they reached the city they went to the upper room where they were staying; there were Peter and John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Jude son of James. With one heart all these joined constantly in prayer, together with some women, including Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.

  9. Acts of the Apostles 2:1-4

When Pentecost day came round, they had all met together, when suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of a violent wind which filled the entire house in which they were sitting; and there appeared to them tongues as of fire; these separated and came to rest on the head of each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak different languages as the Spirit gave them power to express themselves.

Second Period
Meditations Nine Days

  1. John 14:21-31

Whoever holds to my commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me; and whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I shall love him and reveal myself to him.'

Judas-not Judas Iscariot-said to him, 'Lord, what has happened, that you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?' Jesus replied:

Anyone who loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we shall come to him and make a home in him. Anyone who does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not my own: it is the word of the Father who sent me. I have said these things to you while still with you; but the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all I have said to you. Peace I bequeath to you, my own peace I give you, a peace which the world cannot give, this is my gift to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. You heard me say: I am going away and shall return. If you loved me you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. I have told you this now, before it happens, so that when it does happen you may believe. I shall not talk to you much longer, because the prince of this world is on his way. He has no power over me, but the world must recognise that I love the Father and that I act just as the Father commanded. Come now, let us go.

  2. John 17:11-26

I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep those you have given me true to your name, so that they may be one like us. While I was with them, I kept those you had given me true to your name. I have watched over them and not one is lost except one who was destined to be lost, and this was to fulfil the scriptures. But now I am coming to you and I say these things in the world to share my joy with them to the full. I passed your word on to them, and the world hated them, because they belong to the world no more than I belong to the world. I am not asking you to remove them from the world, but to protect them from the Evil One. They do not belong to the world any more than I belong to the world. Consecrate them in the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world, and for their sake I consecrate myself so that they too may be consecrated in truth. I pray not only for these but also for those who through their teaching will come to believe in me. May they all be one, just as, Father, you are in me and I am in you, so that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe it was you who sent me. I have given them the glory you gave to me, that they may be one as we are one. With me in them and you in me, may they be so perfected in unity that the world will recognise that it was you who sent me and that you have loved them as you have loved me.

Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, so that they may always see my glory which you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. Father, Upright One, the world has not known you, but I have known you, and these have known that you have sent me. I have made your name known to them and will continue to make it known, so that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and so that I may be in them.

  3. I Corinthians 15:20-28

In fact, however, Christ has been raised from the dead, as the first-fruits of all who have fallen asleep. As it was by one man that death came, so through one man has come the resurrection of the dead. Just as all die in Adam, so in Christ all will be brought to life; but all of them in their proper order: Christ the first-fruits, and next, at his coming, those who belong to him. After that will come the end, when he will hand over the kingdom to God the Father, having abolished every principality, every ruling force and power. For he is to be king until he has made his enemies his footstool, and the last of the enemies to be done away with is death, for he has put all things under his feet. But when it is said everything is subjected, this obviously cannot include the One who subjected everything to him. When everything has been subjected to him, then the Son himself will be subjected to the One who has subjected everything to him, so that God may be all in all.

  4. Revelation 3:1-3,12,16-19

'Write to the angel of the church in Sardis and say, "Here is the message of the one who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars: I know about your behaviour: how you are reputed to be alive and yet are dead. Wake up; put some resolve into what little vigour you have left: it is dying fast. So far I have failed to notice anything in your behaviour that my God could possibly call perfect; remember how you first heard the message. Hold on to that. Repent! If you do not wake up, I shall come to you like a thief, and you will have no idea at what hour I shall come upon you.

Anyone who proves victorious I will make into a pillar in the sanctuary of my God, and it will stay there for ever; I will inscribe on it the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem which is coming down from my God in heaven, and my own new name as well.

'...but since you are neither hot nor cold, but only lukewarm, I will spit you out of my mouth. You say to yourself: I am rich, I have made a fortune and have everything I want, never realising that you are wretchedly and pitiably poor, and blind and naked too. I warn you, buy from me the gold that has been tested in the fire to make you truly rich, and white robes to clothe you and hide your shameful nakedness, and ointment to put on your eyes to enable you to see. I reprove and train those whom I love: so repent in real earnest.'

  5. Revelation 5:9-14

They sang a new hymn: You are worthy to take the scroll and to break its seals, because you were sacrificed, and with your blood you bought people for God of every race, language, people and nation and made them a line of kings and priests for God, to rule the world.

In my vision, I heard the sound of an immense number of angels gathered round the throne and the living creatures and the elders; there were ten thousand times ten thousand of them and thousands upon thousands, loudly chanting:

Worthy is the Lamb that was sacrificed to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honour, glory and blessing.

Then I heard all the living things in creation-everything that lives in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and in the sea, crying:

To the One seated on the throne and to the Lamb, be all praise, honour, glory and power, for ever and ever.

And the four living creatures said, 'Amen'; and the elders prostrated themselves to worship.

  1. Revelation 7:14-17

I answered him, 'You can tell me, sir.' Then he said, 'These are the people who have been through the great trial; they have washed their robes white again in the blood of the Lamb. That is why they are standing in front of God's throne and serving him day and night in his sanctuary; and the One who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. They will never hunger or thirst again; sun and scorching wind will never plague them, because the Lamb who is at the heart of the throne will be their shepherd and will guide them to springs of living water; and God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.'

  2. Revelation 12:1-8

Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman, robed with the sun, standing on the moon, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant, and in labour, crying aloud in the pangs of childbirth. Then a second sign appeared in the sky: there was a huge red dragon with seven heads and ten horns, and each of the seven heads crowned with a coronet. Its tail swept a third of the stars from the sky and hurled them to the ground, and the dragon stopped in front of the woman as she was at the point of giving birth, so that it could eat the child as soon as it was born. The woman was delivered of a boy, the son who was to rule all the nations with an iron sceptre, and the child was taken straight up to God and to his throne, while the woman escaped into the desert, where God had prepared a place for her to be looked after for twelve hundred and sixty days.

And now war broke out in heaven, when Michael with his angels attacked the dragon. The dragon fought back with his angels, but they were defeated and driven out of heaven.

  3. Revelation 14:1-7

Next in my vision I saw Mount Zion, and standing on it the Lamb who had with him a hundred and forty-four thousand people, all with his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads. I heard a sound coming out of heaven like the sound of the ocean or the roar of thunder; it was like the sound of harpists playing their harps. There before the throne they were singing a new hymn in the presence of the four living creatures and the elders, a hymn that could be learnt only by the hundred and forty-four thousand who had been redeemed from the world. These are the sons who have kept their virginity and not been defiled with women they follow the Lamb wherever he goes; they, out of all people, have been redeemed to be the first-fruits for God and for the Lamb. No lie was found in their mouths and no fault can be found in them.

Then I saw another angel, flying high overhead, sent to announce the gospel of eternity to all who live on the earth, every nation, race, language and tribe. He was calling, 'Fear God and glorify him, because the time has come for him to sit in judgement; worship the maker of heaven and earth and sea and the springs of water.'

    Revelation 19: 7-8

let us be glad and joyful and give glory to God, because this is the time for the marriage of the Lamb. His bride is ready, and she has been able to dress herself in dazzling white linen, because her linen is made of the good deeds of the saints.'

  4. Revelation 21:1-10

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; the first heaven and the first earth had disappeared now, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride dressed for her husband. Then I heard a loud voice call from the throne, 'Look, here God lives among human beings. He will make his home among them; they will be his people, and he will be their God, God-with-them. He will wipe away all tears from their eyes; there will be no more death, and no more mourning or sadness or pain. The world of the past has gone.'

Then the One sitting on the throne spoke. 'Look, I am making the whole of creation new. Write this, "What I am saying is trustworthy and will come true."' Then he said to me, 'It has already happened. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give water from the well of life free to anybody who is thirsty; anyone who proves victorious will inherit these things; and I will be his God and he will be my son. But the legacy for cowards, for those who break their word, or worship obscenities, for murderers and the sexually immoral, and for sorcerers, worshippers of false gods or any other sort of liars, is the second death in the burning lake of sulphur.'

One of the seven angels that had the seven bowls full of the seven final plagues came to speak to me and said, 'Come here and I will show you the bride that the Lamb has married.' In the spirit, he carried me to the top of a very high mountain, and showed me Jerusalem, the holy city, coming down out of heaven from God.

    Revelation 22:20

The one who attests these things says: I am indeed coming soon.

    Amen; come, Lord Jesus.

                R. If we want to change how we feel,
we have to change what we
                    tell ourselves –

                Live in the Moment

From a Lenten Homily, March 24, 2000

Live in the Moment

Today’s Gospel in its story certainly points ahead to Jesus in His Passion and death. And as we read passages such as this during the Lenten season, we are reminded once again that the Church in her Liturgy of the Word gives us an opportunity to undergo a purification, an ever deepening cleansing of ourselves so that we may be a more fit instrument for receiving the great graces which are to be given to us at the time of the Resurrection memorial on Easter. And so all in all, Lent is a time of purification to prepare us for ever-greater gifts of the Lord. It’s a time of self-discipline, a time to renew our efforts to be self-disciplined in the service of the Lord. Self-discipline is an aspect of purification. And I suggest that one of the most difficult acts of self-discipline in the spiritual journey is to concentrate on the present moment. We have a very strong tendency to disregard the importance of the present moment by focusing in a wrong way on the past or in a wrong way on the future. There are proper occasions for thinking of the past and the future. For example, we have to learn from the past and we have to prepare for the future, but our great emphasis has to be upon the present. There is a Latin axiom which says, age quod agis, age quod agis, which means: do what you are doing, concentrate on the present. And of course we are familiar with that term in the history of spirituality: the sacrament of the present moment. And so the discipline of Lent certainly encourages us to include in a deeper self-discipline a greater determination to get as much as we can out of the present moment. People with a terminal illness have an opportunity as they prepare for death for increased prayer, contrition, love of God. However, some are taken very, very quickly. But for those who have the opportunity of knowing with some certainty the time of their death, I’m sure as they look back on their lives, they are saddened by the many times they did not use time and opportunities for the service of the Lord properly, and are overjoyed at those times in which they did use the present opportunity properly. A great means we have of living in the present properly is a greater focus upon our Lord. For if I have that awareness of the fact I am united with Jesus here and now, why should I be concerned so much about the future or the past? Yes, a great help in living in the present and deriving all the good we can from it for ourselves and others is an ever greater focus upon Jesus, because the more I focus upon Jesus and the more I live with Him in the present moment, the more I am satisfied with the present moment. And so let us in our Lenten activity resolve to grow in that self-discipline - which is very difficult at times - to really live in the presence with the fullness of our being as much as is possible, with the help of God’s grace. Now is the day of salvation. Now is the day of salvation.

Excerpt from Blue Book 11 -- May 11, 1996 Rosary - The Resurrection

9. R. He walked with the disciples on the way to Emmaus and they did not recognize Him, and He interpreted for them all the Scriptures from the time of Moses that pertained to Him. When they got to Emmaus, He broke the bread and they recognized Him, and then He vanished. “Then they said to each other, ‘Did not our hearts burn within us as he talked to us on the road and explained the scriptures to us?’”(Lk. 24:32)1 Are not our hearts burning within us for He is alive. In every word of the Scriptures life is delivered to us. In every word of the Mass, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, God gives Himself as a gift to us. Are not our hearts burning within us, that God gives Himself to us? The Almighty, all powerful God, loves us so much that He came to this earth and He rose on the third day that we would share in His life, and He gives Himself to us this day in the Holy Eucharist. Are not our hearts burning within us for this is what is really real! The unseen is really real. He no longer walks the earth, but He lives in each one of us.

10. Song: Are not our hearts burning within us...

A Third Great Vision (excerpt)

R. After Communion I had this immense presence of God. I knew a vision was coming. My vision gets a certain way. The distinct lines I see before me begin to disappear and are smudged with light.

Then I saw again the celestial lights of heaven. It was as though light was spilled from heaven and landed on the flowers and the corners of everything. The Eucharist took on an immense warmth and I knew God truly present in this room.

I saw with eyes unveiled in my soul and in the room. The room had a celestial aura, it no longer looked defined and clear. It was bathed in a gentle, celestial film and all I saw I wanted to tell to those around me. But I was so caught in His embrace that my mouth did not want to move.

Grace is being spilled on the earth. I have seen this celestial light come upon the altar of sacrifice, the monstrance and the cross. The vision on March 26 (1996) I will never forget as long as I live. The light is so thick and so intense as if the heavens open in these cracks of light and there is a depth far beyond that which any mind can envision.

The sky opened up and it rained down its grace. It opens when hearts are one in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

Jesus Is the Gate, Mary Is the Gate Keeper (excerpt)

Immaculata Church

(Jesus appeared in the Sacred Heart statue and gave me this understanding)

R. God has chosen to reveal all this to me, I am a woman. Mary is our spiritual Mother. Mary needs to be recognized as our spiritual Mother and loved. Many women have not been respected in the Church.

God chose Mary from all women to be the Mother of God. God chose a woman to bring His Son into the world. God did not choose a man. He came as a baby in the womb of a woman. Mary gives Him His physical life. A woman gives Jesus life through her milk.

Guiding Light - Reflect on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light homily series - Reflect on the Word - Cycle B —  The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $15

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light homily series - Steadfast to the Son - Cycle A — The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul - Cycle C — In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Liturgical Year
$ 15.00 plus postage

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word - Cycle B — At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15

Priestly Newsletter 2000 Issue 1
Audio CD - Read by Father Edward J. Carter
$ 10.00  plus postage

Priestly Newsletter - 2000 #1 - CD. - Christ is Our Strength - Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our-selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10

Priestly Newsletter - 2000 #2 - CD. - Suffering: A Source of Life - Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. Fr. Carter knew suffering that year. His voice is so powerful as he read each Newsletter from his heart and soul. "Every man has his own share in the redemption. Each one is also called to share in that suffering through which the redemption was accomplished. He is called to share in that suffering through which all human suffering has also been redeemed. In bringing about the redemption through suffering, Christ has also raised human suffering to the level of the redemption. Thus each man in his suffering can also become a sharer in the redemptive suffering of Christ–." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10
